How To Get Attention, or: กAs You Read This, You Feel an Irresistible Urge to Go On Reading!ก

by: Kai Virihaur

We all want attention. As children we crave the attention of our parents. Later in life, we want to be seen and noticed by friends and lovers. And when running most any type of business, we must attract the attention of our potential customers.

But how do you get somebodyกs undivided attention? When you were an infant, you got attention by screaming and crying. Then your parents knew you needed your diapers changed. As an adult, you can try using the same method to get noticed. Sure, you will get noticed but in a negative way!

On the Internet, every website that is selling something has the need to be attentiongrabbing; to make the visitors read about their offer rather than just clicking away. Some are then tempted to use the infant method of getting attention: screaming and yelling. Popupwindows that pop up in your face and obscure the page text you’re just trying to read, is one example. Flashgenerated introกs that stop you in your tracks and say กHeeey, wait before you read about our products Iกve got this fantastic visual effect to show you…!ก is another example of attentiongrabbing contraptions that actually defeat their own purpose. They yell and scream at you, and draw your attention to the fact that youกd better spend your precious time somewhere else.

One of my websites is called ‘the Hosting Finderก. It provides some reviews of carefully selected web hosting companies; the site also offers articles and RSSfeeds on web development and related topics. In other words, I am not selling anything on this website, and so I do not feel it would be appropriate to use a hardselling jargon in my introductory headline. Right now, it reads:

กFinding a Web Hosting Provider That Will Take Good Care of Your Precious Web Pages … Can Be Confusingก

(I then explain how I researched the web to find good hosting services based on unbiased customer ratings rather than hype.)

Recently, a marketing consultant offered to look at this website and give me some feedback at no cost. I accepted, and after checking my landing page he declared the headline to be กgeneric and blandก. Instead, he suggested the following:

กWant An Objective กClient Feedbackก Guide To Help You Find A 100% Trustworthy, Inexpensive, And Complete Web Hosting Service Provider (Based On Survey Results, Not Marketing Propaganda) With All The Options You Need To Run Your Web Site Smoothly And Successfully?

Avoid The Hosting Nightmare Of Trying To Keep Your Site Live And Running Smoothly… Stop Wasting Time And Money In Costly Bad Serviceก

In my reply, I thanked him for his trouble. I also pointed out that this flood of words might not be the optimal way of building confidence in my integrity as the provider of impartial reviews on web hosting.

Maybe I am wrong, who knows. Perhaps I should start yelling and screaming just like everybody else? But I just don’t like the idea of doing that. Iกd rather hypnotize people into reading my texts. Some marketing gurus advocate this approach. Here are a few examples of how you’re supposed to hypnotize people:

1. As you keep reading this ad copy, you are feeling more and more compelled to experience all the benefits of our product.

2. The more you understand just how valuable our product could be to your life, the less you think about delaying this important purchase.

3. After you read this short ad you will feel like your problems are almost completely solved, all you will have to do is order.

Well, don’t you feel compelled to reach for your wallet right now?! This is not a joke; itกs seriously intended to be persuading people. And maybe it is, although I personally find it more amusing than hypnotizing. (Iกll make a pause here; I just feel I have to go out and buy something!)

OK, I am back. Time to finish this little essay on how to get attention. Oh, you have read this far? So I have managed to keep your attention then! I did it by … no, I won’t give my secret away. Youกll have to read my Special Report, which Iกm selling for ONLY $97. But hurry, this exclusive limited special offer expires at midnight!

The Truth Adsense Click Fraud Can NOT be Stopped

The Truth Adsense Click Fraud Can NOT be Stopped

by: Joseph Tierney

Your probably reading this article because you use Google Adwords to bring traffic to your website, or your a click fraudster yourself, wanting to see what kind of information I have for you. Most of you click fraudsters will think that I have no idea what I am talking about, and that I do not know your methods. Well, trust me buddy, I KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU DO.

If you are new to the click fraud scene, here is an example:

1. Scumbag puts Google Adsense ads on his website.

2. The scumbag then proceeds to cheat Google Adsense by creating false clickthroughs and impressions, in return earning him a pretty nice profit, because he isn’t even working on his website, just generating false traffic.

All of you people that run campaigns through Google Adwords are thinking, ‘this guy has no idea what he is talking about, Google has everything under control and they even state so publicly!ก

WOW! What kind of pay per click company would admit that they DO NOT have click fraud under control? I wonder what would happen to their business immediately following that statement.

Estimates say that nearly 20% of all clicks for Adsense are illegitimate. In my honest opinion I believe this number to be around 3035% from some of the things I have seen.

Alrite, now the big question, how are they doing it?

There are a number of ways that people are cheating, including the กclick groupsก from India that click on your ads for you and create big pay checks as long as you pay them their $0.50 an hour so they can buy bread for their family.

But Iกm going to show you the technical way that Google Adsense is cheated, not poor people clicking ads. Iกm talking about extremely smart programmers that create hitbots to cheat Adsense. And, NO, Iกm not talking about that piece of garbage กCACAก or Clicking Agent that you find on Google. I am talking about PRIVATE programs and scripts that are only used by private groups.

How do these scripts get away undetected you ask?

Simple, letกs actually take a look at Googleกs click fraud protection (This is what I have summed up, I seriously don’t believe they have anything other protection because people are still cheating using these methods as you read this article.)

If you actually take a look at Googleกs Adsense code when it is on your webpage you will find the URL that is used to retrieve ads. (RightClck your ad Iframe and click กView Page Informationก or something similar.)

Here is an example of the URL that you will find: http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=capub2521202633232871&dt=1124847235453&lmt=1124631699&format=468x60_as&output=html&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yoursite.com%2F&color_bg=ECF8FF&color_text=000000&color_link=0033FF&color_url=0033FF&color_border=DDAAAA&cc=59&u_h=768&u_w=1024&u_ah=738&u_aw=1024&u_cd=32&u_tz=240&u_java=true

Now letกs decode this up a little bit, shall we?

client=capub2521202633232871 Your client code, this tells Google who to assign the clickthrough money to.

dt=1124847235453 Javascript, if you use the command google_date = new Date(); document.write(google_date.getTime()) Which generates 1124847235453.

This shows you the number of milliseconds since midnite January 1, 1970. This is what seems to be Googleกs biggest automated proxy clicker fraud prevention. Doesn’t seem too hard to generate with 2 lines of code now does it?

lmt=1124631699 The last time your webpage was updated. LMT stands for Last Modified Time, pretty easy Javascript to generate this one too document.write(document.lastModified); Which generates 1124631699.

(Notice Iกm skipping a bunch, thatกs because they are just showing the type of ad, colors, and size that you are using.)

cc=59 Seems to be some random number based on the screen width, height, and color scheme. Iกve seen this number go from 20 all the way up to 400. Iกm sure they don’t use this to reliably track click fraud.

u_h=768 Height of your screen settings.

u_w=1024 Width of your screen settings.

u_ah=738 Your available screen height.

u_aw=1024 Your available screen width.

u_cd=32 Color scheme on windows, e.g. 32bit.

u_tz=240 Your monitor refresh rate or something else that isn’t important, Iกve never seen it not 240.

u_java=true Just seeing if you have java enabled.

There are some other variables that are sometimes in the URL such as กu_his=ก this means how many pages you have visited since you started up your browser. Thereกs also some MIME type checks and how many plugins you have installed, but these variables come up very rarely. I think they are only meant for Netscape/Firefox browsers.

Now that we have กdecodedก the supposed unbeatable Google Adsense code, what do you think about click fraud? You still think it is rare?

After randomizing all the data and sending an automated query to their Adsense URL, all the scumbag has to do is parse out all of Googleกs click URLกs and click one of them, giving him a click through. This can all be easily faked with even a Visual Basic program. A newbie programmer could infact cheat Google Adsense without much knowledge.

Alrite you say, they beat the javascript code detection but doesn’t Google use cookies so they can’t do this?

No, Google does not use cookies for Adsense.

Well what about IPtracking? Someone can’t have that many proxies!

There are click groups that leave these programs running on their computer. They each randomly click each otherกs URLกs automatically. The person running the program doesn’t even have to do anything, but he is still contributing to the success of their group and himself.

Does that sound too farfetched? I am telling you that there are click groups that do this now and have been since the old Linkshare PPC days in 1999. Yes, if you were an advertiser on Linkshare back around 19992002, you got RAPED.

And that isn’t all. I have read on the internet that there is currently over 100,000 people infected in the United States alone with trojan proxy servers. These proxy servers run on random ports so that Google can’t just do a simple port 8080 or 80 check on it to see if itกs a proxy. The majority of these proxy servers are used for credit card fraud, but a lot of them are also used to cheat Google Adsense and other pay per click programs. These proxies are athome users that look like normal dialup, cable, and dsl users from all across the world, but mainly United States. There is NO WAY to prove that they are a proxy.

Random UserAgent strings is another tactic that is often used by click fraudsters. This makes Google think that a lot of different browsers are clicking the links, just keeping them further from finding out the truth.

On a side note, you may be thinking that the new Yahoo! pay per click program may be the way to go. I checked into their protection and guess what? They are only using ONE of Googleกs protections and that is the Javascript GetTime. They are still in Beta though and this may change, but who knows?

To the cheaters: The benefits of cheating are short. Eventually you will be caught for what you are doing and maybe even sued by Google. There is a ton of money to be made legally with Adsense and I suggest that you stop cheating. Who am I to tell you to stop? I use to be one of you! Back when I was 1314 I was making programs like the ones you guys are using now. You guys probably used one of my programs at one time. I am happy to say that those days of mine are all in the past now, and I am making a good amount of money LEGALLY with Adsense and other affiliate programs. Work hard guys and you will reap the benefits 100 times what you make cheating.

To the advertisers: You people that use Google Adwords now see that it is actually not very hard to cheat you out of your money, so be careful and MAKE SURE that you use a click fraud protection script such as ClickDefense. To lower most of your click fraud, just don’t put your ads in the Content Network, only stay on Googleกs sponsored search results. Only Google gets paid when someone clicks the search results sponsored ads and nobody wants to cheat to make Google anymore money do they? Check the stock, itกs currently at 279.58 a share.

To summarize my article I just want to state that no one should use this information for cheating Adsense and I am not responsible for your actions if you choose to do so. You will be caught because Google will evolve and get smarter, eventually.

Honest InDepth SEO Elite Review

Honest InDepth SEO Elite Review

by: Joseph Tierney

This is a REAL INDEPTH review of the SEO Elite version 3.2 software that is currently out. Every claim I make here is 100% accurate, and you can even verify the results yourself.

I started up my Central Florida Surf Report website in January 2005. I was receiving around 40 unique visitors a day from wordofmouth traffic. Being out of the website design business for about 2 years, I didn’t even know what Google PageRank was. I had no idea that backlinks with anchor text was what ran the search engines nowadays.

After realizing this by reading on the forums over at GeekVillage I decided I better get jumping on my link campaign. I started going around the internet in search engines and emailing potential link partners that had the same basic content as my website.

Many of the people liked my website design and content, thus giving me a high trade link success rate. In my niche กsurfingก or กsurf reportsก most of the webmasters aren’t out to get money or take your search engine rankings, so it was actually a little easier getting backlinks.

For about 4 months I was manually doing this by hand and only got up to around 250 backlinks in MSN and Yahoo!. Hardly any backlinks were showing in Google, but everyone knows that Google doesn’t show the correct amount of backlinks. Even right now it shows link:www.cflwaves.com as having ONE backlink.

In June, I finally decided that I was over the process of manually finding the link partners. I started using the program Arelis and was amazed at the ease of use finding new link partners. I DID NOT like the fact that the program didn’t show me any of the pages PageRank though. I only used Arelis for about 3 days, getting around 25 backlinks.

I started searching around in the internet for an alternative and stumbled into SEO Elite by Brad Callen. I downloaded the demo and was amazed at the results I was getting. I had picked up about 50 backlinks in only 2 days of use. Then I saw Brad introduced the new Project 8: Find and Submit Using Link Submission Forms.

After watching Bradกs tutorial videos on this new project, I IMMEDIATELY went and purchased the product. After the first day I had already picked up 50 new backlinks using this new feature.

The keyphrase that I was targeting was กCentral Florida Surf Reportก. If you check MSN, I am ranked #1. If you check Yahoo! I am ranked #1. If you check Google I am still ranked #3 but I am pretty sure after the next Google update I will be #1. The cool thing about it is that since I was targetting กCentral Florida Surf Reportก, it eventually rolls over to กFlorida Surf Reportก. On MSN I am #1 for กFlorida Surf Reportก. On Yahoo! I am #1 for กFlorida Surf Reportก. On Google I am #15, but this should also go up the next Google update. Rolling over again, it eventually turns into กsurf reportก, currently on MSN I am ranked #13 for this keyphrase. It is very exciting to watch all my work actually pay off.

My traffic has tripled since January, and this month (August) I am expecting to receive from 11,000 12,000 unique visitors. Pretty good for a surf report website where all I do is update the surf report daily and forecast every few days right? This website is currently earning me over $600 a month in Adsense revenue, and that is increasing every month.

It is important to note that not all of your traffic comes from the search engines. When you are trading links with other websites, you also receive traffic from their websites, so the more backlinks you have, overall the more people you have!

These results are all due to the SEO Elite software by Brad Callen. Now here is my detailed project by project review of his software:

Project 1: Analyze backlinks using a specified search engine

________

This project allows you to analyze your competitors search engine backlinks using any of the major search engines. The program will show you what anchor text people are linking to them with, the IP address of the website, the PageRank of the website, the Alexa Rank of the website, the Page Title that the link is on, how many outbound links the page has, and how many total links the page has. This project also shows you in an easy list how many PR010กs and their percentage that are linking to the site. It is kind of hard to explain so here is the format:

PR = 0 520.1%

PR = 1 810.5%

PR = 2 1313.3%

PR = 3 4543.3%

PR = 4 2420.4%

PR = 5 1210.2%

PR = 6 43.7%

PR = 7 00.0%

PR = 8 00.0%

PR = 9 00.0%

(Not my siteกs statistics.)

Project 2: Find and Email High Page Rank Link Partners

________

This is my favorite project of the whole program. It lets you find and email people that have atleast the minimum PageRank that you specify. You can find sites based on sites that link to your competitor, based on a search term, or from a links page such as if your competitor has a long links page, and you want them all to link to you as well.

All you have to do is start the project, then load up one of your email templates, select multiple email addresses from the list and SEO Elite will send an email to every single one of them. None of the receivers know that you have also sent that email to another person. You can also customize your site templates to include the receiverกs name and website URL, so that the emails do not look machine generated.

Project 3: Analyze allinanchor, allintitle or allintext.

________

This project allows you to enter a keyword and analyze the top 10 ranking for allinanchor, allintitle, or allintext.

Allinanchor shows you the top number of websites with that particular keyword in their anchor text. If you are ranked #1 for allinanchor, you should soon be ranked #1 for that certain keyword.

Allintitle shows you the top number of websites with that particular keyword in their tags.

Allintext shows you the top number of websites with that particular keyword in the body of their webpage.

SEO Elite allows you to compare the allinanchor, allintitle, and allintext with the actual results, frame by frame.

Project 4: Verify that link partners are still linking back.

________

I personally do not use this feature of SEO Elite, but some of you may find it very valuable.

What you do is give SEO Elite the location of your links page, SEO Elite will then crawl the links page getting the websites out of it. SEO Elite then visits all of those pages checking to see if your link is still on their website. If it isn’t the program will tell you and you can send them an email asking them what happend to your link.

Project 5: Find out where your site is ranked for a given keyword(s):

________

This project allows you to see where you are ranked for certain keywords on every search engine. SEO Elite saves the results and shows you a comparison from the past times that you have checked. This is great to show you how much SEO Elite has helped your search engine rankings.

Project 6: Find out how many webpages are indexed.

________

This project allows you to enter any domain name then the program will check each major search engine and return how many pages from that domain are indexed. Great time saver.

Project 7: Find well optimized websites.

________

This project shows you what the top 10 are doing to get their rankings. You enter a certain keyword and it returns the top 10 and then analyzes them based on certain factors:

Page PR

Alexa Rank

# of Top 10กs

Total Appearances

Total Score

I also do not use this project very much at all, I think I have only used it 3 times.

Project 8: Find and submit using link submission forms.

________

This is the greatest project of SEO Elite next to Find and Email High PageRank partners. What this project does is allow you to enter a certain keyword, select the number of websites that you want to exchange links with, and click submit. The program will find related websites to yours that have setup an automatic link exchange script.

All you have to do is enter your information into the SEO Elite program and each website that you select to trade links with, the program will automatically fill in the required fields for every website. All you have to do is click submit! Excellent feature, and a great time saver.

Overall I think that this is the greatest SEO program on the internet today. No other program has the amount of features that SEO Elite does. I think that this is a MUSTHAVE for any webmaster trying to market their website. This program is responsible for almost every visitor that I receive on my website. I give it a 10/10.

A Winning Domain Name

A Winning Domain Name

by: Debra Gravelle

The domain name is one of the most important decisions you will make when trying to win over the search engine dilemma. Try using at least one of your best keywords within your domain name.

The search engine and the directories give higher preference when your domain name is relevant to your site content or theme.

Let me give you an example of three different ways you could look at your domain name and how the major search engines will view them for indexing.

www.trafficnmore.com

www.trafficNmore.com

www.trafficNmore.com

Which one would you have chosen?

www.trafficNmore.com, Right!

The search engines may not necessarily see it that way.

Even though trafficNmore.com is easily understood by the eye of the visitor, the search engine will not see the difference between trafficnmore.com and trafficNmore.com.

Both are good ranking for a site dealing with traffic issues.Even though you have the approval of your visitor looking for your information, you could get a higher ranking with the search engines by using www.trafficNmore.com and still keep the eye appeal for your visitor.

Here is why.

The hyphen breaks up a longer domain name to reveal the major keywords that describe your website content or theme. This makes it easier for the visitor to understand and most importantly allows the search engine to detect your keyword for indexing right off the bat. Cool, huh?

Moral of the story, give your visitor a break, be nice to the search engines and theyกll be nice to you and give you lots of reoccurring traffic for free.

How To Screen Your Visitors When Using Pay Per Cli

How To Screen Your Visitors When Using Pay Per Click Advertising

by: Rich Hamilton, Jr

If you are using pay per click advertising, I don’t need to tell you that it can get very expensive if you have a lot of unnecessary click throughs. In this article I will explain how to screen your visitors and how to apply it to your pay per click advertising campaign, so that you can screen your visitors before they click through.

How It Works

To minimize the amount of unnecessary click throughs, we are going to talk about a screening technique that is used in copywriting. A good copywriter has the ablity to screen the serious individuals from the test pilots, before the sale is initially made.

By using this screening technique you will dramatically decrease the amount of refunds that you could be receiving. In this case, you need to be specific about your product or service without giving too many details, this will eliminate unnecessary click throughs.

When it comes time to develop an ad that best describes your offer, you need to use precise wording. If you use any ambiguous words, phrases or statements in your ads, you will confuse the viewer, making them either click through or leave. You need to keep in mind that every click through is costing you money, so you need to make sure that you are targeting your market and that each of your visitors are qualified.

Applying The Headline

When placing a pay per click advertisement there are two things that you need to pay attention to, the headline and the description. The headline is used to grab their attention, build their curiousity and force them to read on. The difficult part is that the pay per click ads only allow you a limited amount of characters, usually up to 50. Your attention grabbing headline will end up being only three or four words. You need to make your headline jump out at the viewer, but at the same time, you need to be specific.

One of the biggest mistakes I often see, is that people use their business name for the headline of their pay per click advertisement. A business name is not going to grab their attention or motivate them to read the description. For example, let me ask you which headline would grab your attention and motivate you to read the description, กElites Marketingก or กEarn $47 $270 Per Saleก. Do you see the difference between the two headlines and how specific the second one was?

Applying The Description

As far as the description goes, you have a little more to work with, unless you are using Googleกs Adwords. Googleกs Adwords gives you two lines and each line only allows up to 35 characters. You will need to be as specific and descriptive as you can. The description is very crucial, and it will determine whether or not your visitor will initially click through.

Let me give you another example, now which description is precise in wording and is descriptive enough to screen your visitor, กYou can join our Two Tier Associate Program at no cost or obligationก, or กSnowball in cash by promoting infomarketing products. Join for Free!ก I hope you picked the second description!

The first description, กYou can join our Two Tier Associate Program at no cost or obligationก is vague and wide open. This description does not describe what kind of product or service they would be promoting or kind of associate program I am offering is, pay per lead, pay per click, pay per sale, or two tier. You don’t want to use a description that is too vague, that is how you get a lot of unnecessary click throughs.

On the other hand, the second description, กSnowball in cash by promoting marketing infoproducts. Join for Free!ก is very clear and concise. Even though the description did not say what kind of associate program it was, in the headline it was clear. It said, กEarn $47 $270 Per Sale.ก Moreover, I was able to tell my visitor that theyกd be promoting information marketing products and was free to participate. I was also able to hit them with a couple psychological triggers, กSnowballก and กCashก.

To screen your visitors more effectively, you need to choose keywords that are relevant to your product or service and that target your market. If you select keywords or phrases that are too general, you will still have a lot of unnecessary click throughs. You can only screen so much, so don’t select inappropriate keywords or phrases when starting your pay per click advertisement campaign. Take your time and brainstorm for the appropriate keywords and phrases that best desribes your product or service.

How To Syndicate Your Content

How To Syndicate Your Content

by: Rick Rouse

Note: In order to preserve the proper format for the HTML code snippet in this article, copy and paste the article into Notepad, then copy and paste it from Notepad into your HTML web page.

Do you have regularly updating content that you would like to make available to other websites? Perhaps a computer tip of the day, a daily recipe, or even a daily cartoon?
Do you want to give your website more exposure, boost sales, enhance your search engine rankings, or grow your newsletter subscriber list?
A fast and easy way to accomplish all of these goals is by using content syndication. Content syndication is the simple process of making a block of content (which usually changes on a regular basis) available for other webmasters to use on their websites.
Sound complicated? Well, it isn’t!
There are several ways to syndicate your content, but the easiest way by far is to use a simple IFRAME (Inline Frame). Here is the HTML code for creating your own content syndication IFRAME:

<iframe src=กhttp://www.yoursite.com/content.htmlก

width=ก150ก height=ก300ก frameborder=ก1ก

scrolling=กnoก></iframe><br>Content courtesy of

<a href=กhttp://www.yoursite.comก>http://www.yoursite.com</a>

To display your content on his/her web page, all the other webmaster has to do is copy and paste this code into his/her web page in the place where he/she wants your content to be displayed.

1 Replace http://www.yoursite.com/content.html with the URL of the page on your website that you wish to syndicate. Make sure this page contains only the content itself along with any related HTML code such as bolding, colors, etc. Do not include headers, footers, navigation, etc.
2 The width and height attributes set the size of the IFRAME in pixels. In the example above, the content would fit in the lefthand navigation column of most websites.
You can change these attributes to any size you wish, but keep in mind that the IFRAME must be large enough to accommodate your content. Also keep in mind that the smaller your syndicated content, the easier it will be to find webmasters who are willing to use it.
3 The frameborder setting determines whether your content will be displayed inside a box. The default setting is yes (1). If you change this setting to 0, there will be no border, hence no box.
4 Setting the scrolling attribute to กyesก will add scrollbars to the IFRAME. This is useful if you wish to syndicate a long article while keeping the IFRAME small.
5 Change the URL in กContent courtesy of http://www.yoursite.com.ก to your websiteกs URL. This way visitors can click to visit your website if they found your content useful.
I recommend making this line mandatory as a condition for using your content. It will generate targeted traffic to your website and provide a valuable backlink for search engine ranking purposes.
6 Important: Copy and paste the code above into NotePad, then into your HTML editor. This helps ensure proper formatting in your web page.
7 Let other webmasters know you have content available for them to place on their websites. You can place a link on your site that says: กSyndicate our content!ก or กLike this content? Place it on your website!ก
You can also submit your content to the many กfree contentก websites that are found on the web. Just do a Google search for กfree contentก.
Thatกs all there is to syndicating your content on other websites! Have fun!
