Create Huge Income From Your Web Site 10 Easy Ways

by: Dennis Becker

The cost of setting up a web site is dirt cheap nowadays. You can register a domain for less than $2.00 as I write this (for .info domains). Hosting is also very cheap, and getting cheaper all the time.

So why are so many web sites springing up? Obviously somebodyกs making money besides the hosting companies, so hereกs some idea starters for you:

1. Sell your own products or services. They should be related to your target audience. You want to be able to take credit cards (at least with PayPal if not otherwise) on your site and deliver your product to your customers as fast as possible.

2. Sell another companyกs products. There is no shortage of companies willing to drop ship items for you, all you have to do is make the sale and place the order with your fulfillment company, they do all the work, and you profit on the difference between their price and yours. There are ways to avoid the hassles some attribute to drop shippers.

3. If you have enough activity to your site, you can sell advertising space, such as banner, classified, or text ads. Of course you need to have enough traffic coming to your site first, so that people have an incentive to want to gain exposure to your visitors. You might not make a lot from displaying small text or banner ads, but it can easily pay for your hosting fees, and enough more to invest in some software scripts that will make your site that much better.

4. Sign up with Google AdSense or another contextual advertising company, and let them place their ads on your pages. When someone clicks on an ad, you earn money. Some webmasters are making many thousands of dollars a month with Google AdSense.

5. If you have enough web space, you could rent other people web pages. You could also give them away for free and make money by including your Google AdSense ads on their web pages.

6. Charge people a fee (monthly or annual subscription, or a one time fee) to access your web site. People will pay you money for your content if itกs valuable to them. This can be ebooks, reports, interviews, software, etc.

If you find a niche market, you can spend some time researching your topic and put all sorts of articles and resources to that niche on your site. Then those who have a similar interest might be likely to want to take advantage of all the time youกve already spent by coming straight to the site (yours) that has all the answers for them already. If you have enough articles on your topic, you might want to get a site search engine (there are free scripts available) to make it easier to find the information your visitors want.

7. Make money selling other peopleกs products through affiliate programs. Theyกll give you a link to track your sales. If you haven’t heard of affiliate programs, you’re in for a treat, many thousands of people are making a full time income just by driving traffic from their site to merchant sites, never touching or shipping a product, letting the merchant do all the work and make the entire investment in inventory.

A good way to start with affiliate programs is to sign up with ClickBank. There are well over 10,000 different eBooks that you are then automatically an affiliate for. Itกs likely that there are some that tie in with the theme of your site. Write up some reviews and recommendations and send traffic to the ClickBank merchant, and if the eBook sells, you get commissions sometimes as high as 75%.

Another benefit is that if you make a page for each of your eBook reviews, you will eventually start drawing traffic from search engines because some of your pages will get ranked well for the keywords used to describe the eBook you’re reviewing.

8. Publish an ezine from your web site. Ask your visitors to subscribe to the ezine right from your web site through a sign up box. You might want to find something to entice them to give you their email address, like a free report, eCourse, or eBook. Once you have enough subscribers to your ezine, you could sell classified or sponsor advertising inside your ezine, or you could periodically review and recommend products that you’re an affiliate for to your subscribers.

9. If you have your own business already (real estate agent, hairdresser, contractor, restaurant, etc.), put up a web page to draw in prospects. All you need is a picture, contact information, a description of what you do, and you have a cheap advertisement that will pull in customers.

10. Set up a local directory of small businesses. Give each business their own page, fix it up for them so that itกs optimized for the search engines, and charge them annually for the service. They won’t have to pay hosting fees and you do everything for them. Suggest that they put the web site address on their business card, and youกll have virtually locked them in for annual renewals for the life of their business.

These are just some thoughtstarters for you. There are over a billion web sites on the Internet, there are obviously more than ten ways to earn money with them. Come up with a unique method of cashing in from all those surfers, or use one of our methods, and one day youกll be writing your own advice articles.

How To Get Your Business Online

How To Get Your Business Online

by: Peter Simmons

This article is for all those who have asked กhow do I get my business online?ก or have just plain been putting it off because you dont know where to start or who can help or how much it will cost.

Why should I put my business online? Well, there are several reasons why you should.

Firstly, its a great กconnection pointก between you and your customers or partners. They can visit your website at anytime that suits them to find out more about you, your products, ordering, or just get more information. Previously they would have had to physically visit you or use the telephone and actually speak to you. They can contact you with questions, complaints, recommendations or just to gauge how helpful/efficient you are at anytime without speaking to you or being facetoface with you. Its another way to deal, communicate and interact with you. It puts the emphasis on the customer and their needs and removes the pushy salesman from the process. This level of anonymity encourages the customer to get what they want more than ever before or go somewhere else where they will get it.

Secondly, the Internet enables the customer to shop around much more easily and cheaply than ever before. It is as easy to research and buy a product that is sold in another country as it is to do it for one in your own country and all for the cost of a local call. Timezones are largely irrelevant on the Internet.

Thirdly, a website is entirely flexible and can be designed from scratch specifically for your business and customers, regardless of the industry you are in and the size of your business.

Fourth, it is low cost. You can build a website to meet your budget.

What do you need to do?

Get a web address often called a domain name/URL. When someone types in your web address i.e. www.youraddress.com into their Internet enabled computer, they see your website. Get a name that is easily remembered by your customers. Youกll need to renew it regularly to keep the name.

Get some webspace often called hosting. A company (the host) will rent you space on its computer. You store your website in that space. Your web address will point here so that when the web address is typed in by the customer, they will be directed to your website automatically. Make sure you get a fast and reliable host and therefore your website is always available and quickly. Read host reviews or ask people you know to recommend a host.

Research before doing anything else do some research. Look at other websites, styles, navigation, content, functions, etc. What do you like? What dont you like? What do your customers want? What dont they want? What are your competitors doing? What arent they doing? Set some clear objectives for your site. Write them down in order of priority and work towards them throughout the project.

Content The most important of all. Whether its text, images, functions, data or anything else, spend some time getting it right. It must of course, all meet your clear objectives.

Design and build your website you can do this yourself but I dont recommend it unless you are confident you can do it well and have enough time to do it. Hire someone to do it all for you. Make sure you are happy to deal with them and that they dont just want to design a pretty website for their portfolio. They should make all the right noises about how the website will fit into your business and how your customers will benefit from it. Again, remember your clear objectives.

Evaluation check your website meets all your objectives. Check everything works as it should and is easy to understand and use by your customers. Do you need to make any improvements/changes?

Publish put your new website into your webspace. Congratulations your business is online!

Finally, review your website initially and regularly thereafter to make sure it is still meeting your customers requirements and to see if it can be improved or developed further.

Good luck and dont forget to let me know how you get on.

Why Ugly Sites Sell More Than Pretty Sites

Why Ugly Sites Sell More Than Pretty Sites

by: Anik Singal

What the heck is going on lately? Most internet websites I go to now, all I see are pretty graphics everywhere. I see moving images, I see crazy JAVA, things flying around.

Don’t get me wrong, some of these graphics are truly amazing I love to see them! But, thatกs the problem! I only love to look at them, when Iกm done looking at them, I LEAVE! Lately, thereกs been a disturbing trend of everyone spending huge amounts of money on web graphics. The problem? There is NO proof that this really helps your sales!

As a matter of fact, one of my biggest money makers is a consulting service…

www.SingalMarketing.com/consultingte.html

…I put that page up in 5 minutes (after writing my copy). Believe it or not, but even being such a high priced service that page converts about 2.5% of course I get very targeted traffic…

LOOK AT HOW UGLY IT IS!!!

BUT, it has content! It has great copy, itกs got my face, my voice and a great service the ACTUAL key ingredients to making a website that sells…Now, the problem is that most people are very logical you would THINK that a good looking site should sell more it makes sense right?

You expect that a good looking site probably increases your credibility I mean, come on, it shows your visitor that you REALLY mean business, yadda yadda yadda…But, again, look at MY site Iกm selling a high priced consulting service to business owners Iกm actually selling my expertise in the internet business world. Yet, the site design (or lack there of) seems to have NO influence.

Just so you know, I DID try a nice fancy design for that page. You want to know what happened to my conversion? It plummeted down to 1.4%! Now, that Iกve got your attention, letกs look at why it is that a prettier site probably sells less:

1. More graphics take longer to load.

Not everyone has fast internet yet actually, most people don’t. No one wants to wait for hours for a site to upload!

2. More graphics distract your visitors from your message.

Your graphics can actually work against you because your visitors spend more time focusing on them than they do focusing on your copy! Remember, itกs your COPY that sells so if the visitor isn’t reading the copy he/she is NOT going to buy. Period.

3. Some visitors may not like the colors, you may be sending the wrong message to different cultures.

Just because YOU love the colors of your graphics and you love the color scheme of your website does NOT mean that your visitors do too. There it is, those are the three MAIN reasons to keep your website AS neutral AS possible.

So, remember, PRETTY does NOT always equal more sales!

Ugly sites DO sell and will continue to do so. What matters is what you’re selling, your own expertise, and your copy writing. In the end, the best way to know what works best for your visitors is to TEST, TEST, and TEST some more!

Until next time,

Anik Singal

Why Pay For Long Distance When You Can Get It Abso

Why Pay For Long Distance When You Can Get It Absolutely Free!

by: Mike Ofori

Imagine making long distance calls to everyone you know… for free

For the millions of consumers who are sick and tired of paying hundreds and even thousands of dollars each year on long distance calls, a company in Aliso Viejo, CA has created the greatest breakthrough since Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. This cuttingedge (patent pending) internet technology by AdCalls enables anyone to make long distance calls to anywhere in the US and Canada absolutely free! The free AdCalls Phone Dialer also gives consumers access to coupons and special offers from local advertisers directly from the ad viewer.

The AdCalls online phone system is a patentpending system using VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) technological advancements that allow consumers to make digitally clear phone calls from their home or business computer to any cell phone, business or home phone in the U.S. and Canada … free and to any computer anywhere in the world. While the free call is in process, moneysaving coupons appear in a T.V. screenstyled format across the top of the online dialer. Consumers can also view, print and search coupons by categories. Free movies are also being added to the AdCalls suite of consumer online services.

How Does It Work?

AdCalls gives away unlimited, free VoIP calling to home and business phones as well as cell phones, plus unlimited free movies, with more free features to come in the future. The giveaway is accomplished in the form of a simple free VoIP software program that can be downloaded from the internet and activated within minutes, and looks like a small cell phone when installed on a computer desktop. Consumers can make phone calls from their home or business computer to any cell phone, business or home phone in the United States, and Canada free – and to any computer anywhere in the world.

Consumers are able to make FREE, Unlimited long distance calls because businesses and organizations are paying for those calls. Just like free TV, when the dialer is being used, coupon ads are displayed in the patentpending screen of the ‘cell phone’. The ads are rotated every 15 seconds. Consumers can click on any coupon and redeem it, and also use the patentpending search for coupons in various categories in their local area. Let’s say the consumer wants to find out about pizza specials in their local area near their home or office. They would simply open the free AdCalls Phone Dialer and type ‘pizza’ in the search field. The consumer would instantly get access to all pizza advertisers offering specials in their local area. Then they can click on a button, call and order directly from the computer.

Coupons have traditionally been delivered via inserts in weekly or daily newspapers and magazines, or in stores through point of sale promotions. Free Standing Inserts (FSI’s) reach over 58million households each week in the United States via newspapers and other direct mail vehicles. In 2002, manufacturers distributed over 400 billion coupons. Consumers have had to sort through all these stacks of paper and find the coupons that match their shopping needs. Not surprisingly, only 4 billion coupons were redeemed in 2002, and consumers still saved over $4 billion. The AdCalls solution provides the following benefits to consumers:

* Provide consumers with easy to find, targeted coupons which fit their needs

* Provide consumers helpful information (recipes, grocery lists, promotions, ads)

* Only coupons relating to consumers’ local area will be displayed

* Other valuable offers and coupons will be available ONLY to AdCalls members

* Allow costeffective distribution of coupons

* Provides consumers with the opportunity to earn extra income each month for simply referring others to use the Adcalls free calling dialer

The AdCalls solution will make it easier for consumers to redeem more coupons than before, thereby saving more than before.

If you do not mind watching commercials on your PC screen while you make unlimited calls to your friends, family and acquaintances, then check out this terrific software. At the very least, you will save money on your long distance phone calls.

Viral Marketing with a Powerful Twist

Viral Marketing with a Powerful Twist

by: Floyd Tapia

What would you do with 500, 1000 or more additional visitors each day? Imagine how your web business will grow with an extra 2000, 5000 or MORE leads each month . . .

Okay, Iกll stop teasing you. . . But what IF those extra leads and visitors cost you NOTHING? Let me tell you a story a friend of mine named Paul Galloway shared with me…

The Brilliant Webmaster

Once upon a time, not too long ago in a nearby web land, there was a business owner looking for a way to increase visitors to his website AND a way to increase his subscribers. (Sound familiar?)

He and his webmaster came up with a simple but brilliant idea. They had some software developed to help them implement this viral idea, and then they launched the new campaign.

In just a couple of months, his website had received tons of visitors (including lots of REPEAT visitors) and almost 49,739 subscribers from this promotion.

In fact, by setting it up properly, your persubscriber cost could be ZERO. Zero cost? What a beautiful end to this story. What was this powerful secret?

Surprisingly, this wasn’t a กnewก concept like all the gurus brag about with their brand new, super secret, monumental discoveries.

No. Interesting enough, youกve almost certainly seen the กcomponent partsก of this system in other places.

What made this idea so brilliant was to combine two existing traffic devices and add a ‘twistก and this powerful twist is where the super viral effect is born.

Okay, itกs almost redundant to say this but everyone knows that they should try to build a list of customers to be truly successful. But try this…

The two กcomponentsก are a ‘tell a friendก program and an online contest. What? Is that all? Well try this on for size. Oh, Iกll get to the ‘twistก in a second…

Viral Marketing with a ‘twistก

Start an online contest, drawing, etc.

Let the contestants know that by entering the contest they’re also subscribing to your publication.

On the contest form, put a referral or tell a friend box where contestant can enter friends and business associates so that they will be sent an invitation to enter the contest.

But here comes the really good part… NOW we’re going to add a ‘tWISTก to maximize your results.

Let the contestant know that every person they refer to your contest, they will get an additional entry as well. This is part of the powerful twist.

Second part of the twist: After they submit the form, give them a URL where they can check to see the กfront runnersก in the contest.

These last two items are what makes this so powerful. You give your contestants an extra incentive to refer more and more of their friends and a way to track their standing in the contest.

Do you see how this taps into your visitorกs triggers of greed and competitive nature? Hereกs an example of a real contest:

http://contestofthecentury.marketingvault.net

If you take the time to set this up properly, you too may cause an avalanche of quality traffic and subscribers to your site.

I can’t say enough about the importance of putting this unused, yet lucrative marketing technique into action. This IS viral marketing with a powerful twist at its best.

To get additional information on how you can create your own traffic tidal wave using this simple but brilliant super viral feeding contest. Send an email to: [email protected] Do this before your competition jumps all over it.

A Beginner To Beginners

A Beginner To Beginners

by: Jim Murdoch

You may be just starting, or contemplating, your first online business. Or, just like me, you may be trying out yet another online business scheme.

No doubt you are reading about all those guys who got rich just doing what you have started to do, or contemplating to do. Many claim to be making 10s of 1000s of $$ per month! So how do you, poor, moneyless, noclue wouldbe, get to become a successful entrepreneur with your own online business?

Easy! Just do what they do! Simple, huh? Then you discover its not that simple. Its hard!

OK, you still want to succeed. If they can do it, so can I, you say. This is a good start a positive attitude. Think big! Thatกs what the guys at the top say, and that sounds good to me. Youกll not get anywhere if you don’t believe in yourself.

Right, so where do we go from there. You get a positive picture of your success, you set goals, and you get determination to reach those goals. But following that we need action! If you do nothing you will gain nothing. You will reap what you sow. On the other hand, if you put a lot of effort into it, you will reap a profitable reward.

So far so good. The top dogs tell us these things. Be positive and work hard. Then what? We are talking about online business here, and thatกs what I am doing, so letกs look at what action can be taken, and indeed, should be taken, to increase your income. Sorry, I mean start your income we are only starting out, right?

Advertise! they tell us. Wow, wait a second! I tried that and got swamped with hundreds of emails making similar offers. Thereกs a lot of offers out there, some good, some just plain crooked. Let me ask you a question. If you had apples to sell, would you go to an apple market or a banana market? How many apples do you think you would sell to a bunch of people trying to sell you apples? My guess is none!

Which market do you want to reach? the buyers or the sellers? You will say, ‘the buyers.ก But not all the sellers are selling the same product as you. The banana seller might want to buy your apples. Sellers, then, are also potential buyers.

A better question to ask is: Who do you not want to market to? Obviously you want to avoid wasting your time reaching more apple sellers. Whatever your product is, you want to sell to those who don’t have it.

Now, you might argue that you have the best opportunity on the Net, and all these poor guys who think they have the best, need to hear about my offer. This is true, in my opinion. There are a lot of people pushing opportunities like they will drop gold from heaven. In reality they are just as desperate as you, and are trying their best to make a good sale.

Letกs go back to the apple market for a moment. You look around at those apples your fellows are selling. You see many have bad apples, dirty apples, old apples, small apples, dry apples. You know that your apples are much better than these. Hey! You have just found a potential buyers group.

But how do you sell your good apples to these bad apple sellers? Give them one to taste! Once they taste how good it is they will want more. In fact they will want to disgard their old apples and want to join you selling yours. You just won an affiliate! Isn’t that what half of Network Marketing is all about?

Give things away! Have something to offer free. Be it a newsletter, advice or even a sample product, or in affiliate programs, how about prospective affiliates? Give and you will receive.

Scrooge from Christmas Carol was rich. But he was also mean. people didn’t like him, and he got a picture of how glad people would be if he died. But Scrooge had a change of heart. He became generous. And what else changed? His popularity. I guarantee you that when the new Scrooge died, he was sorely missed.

Letกs sum up. You are a beginner. It won’t stay that way.

Get a vision and set your goals.

Work hard towards your goals and don’t give up.

Sell to those who don’t have what you sell.

Give away things and prove your honesty.

Are you ready to climb that ladder of success?

Foot on the first rung, and lift!

See you at the top.

Simple Media Kits with the Help of Publisher

Simple Media Kits with the Help of Publisher

by: Grannyกs Mettle

For a marketing campaign to work, you have to provide the media with a kit. Announcing news and information about your business can be attractive when combined with a useful and packed media kit.

A media kit is a collection of significant materials that gives the media information on who you are, what you do, and best of all, why they should care. It can be as fancy as you want it to be, just make sure that it is consistently clean, attractive and relevant. Proofread and edit thoroughly any copy that you include in the media kit. This can and will be used for future reference, so make sure that the information is reliable and correct.

For easy and quick creation of a simple yet professional media kit, Microsoft Publisher can help you a lot to come up with the items needed such as a cover letter; a brochure; a press release; business cards; your company mission and history, and even profile; and biographies and credentials of key personnel.

Use the same Master Design Set in Publisher (e.g. the Studio Design) for consistency in your materials. Create your company letterhead, business cards, brochures, and labels using the featured tool in Publisher. Customize and tailor your materials according to your specifications. As such, you can be sure that your media kit, and everything in it, will convey exactly what your company wants to convey to the media.

Here are some tips for an effective communication materials in your media kit:

Cover Letter It should be short, straightforward, and should be able to introduce you, your company, and your media kit. If you can, address your cover letter to a specific contact person, and not just Dear Sir/Madam. The Publisher has a Mail Merge feature, which you can use to address your letter to different names even with the same content in the body of the letter. The Mail and Catalog Merge Wizard will guide you through the process.

Brochure Create a brochure with Publisher to provide information on your products and services.

Press Release A media kit always have a press release. This will help the media to quickly grasp the relevance of your material. It usually contains anything that is new with your company. Templates on Microsoft Office Online have sample press releases that you can use to get you started.

Business cards Publisher also has tools to help you create your own business cards in a jiffy. You could even customize a set of your business cards according to the media your going to give them to.

Label The software has a collection of preformatted label applications, designed to be compatible with labels for your desktop printer.

Put them all together in high quality presentation folders and you’re all set. You can choose from a variety of folders available in the market they come in a variety of colors, some even have embossing, die cuts, extra folds, or pockets. You could go a little bit further and customize the folder to have a label in front that matches your company identity; or put your company logo.

Finally, put your media kits in mailing envelopes and you’re ready to send them out.

A Fast Way to Find Clients

A Fast Way to Find Clients

by: Suzanne FalterBarns

So you’ve gotten the training certification, made up your business cards, and started your web site. You’ve discovered your niche, and you have been marketing – aggressively even!

But still, no one’s exactly beating a path to your door. Kind of make you wonder what you’re doing wrong.

Chances are you’re doing everything right. The only thing that may be missing is a broader chance for the public to really get a taste of which you are. You need to build relationships with these folks. Yet, how can you do that without actually coaching them first?

Enter the big solution: workshops.

Holding workshops targeted to your niche is an excellent way to give your larger audience a real taste of what you do. The full 3hour, or fullday format of a workshop gives your audience a chance to sit back and observe you at work. Not only that, if you’ve shaped your workshop to fit your niche, you’ll find yourself with an excellent database of interested potential clients. You’ll also be able to test the drawing power of your niche quite graphically, and learn the most effective ways to reach these folks. One psychotherapist I know In New York City built a thriving practice simply by leading three workshops about Jung and dream analysis.

An added perk: when you lead workshops, you get all kinds of terrific stories you can use in future articles, books, and speaking gigs. Three bestselling selfhelp authors I know actually lead workshops for this reason alone.

That said, there are a few key things that must be in place to turn your workshop the client magnet that it can be.

1. Give yourself and your workshop a brand name. Some of the most successful I know of are ขThe Ezine Queenข, ขThe Comfort Queenข, ขMarketing Shaperข, ขThe Publicity Houndข, ขAuthentic Promotionข, and ขThe Grokข. These are ownable, distinctive names that let people know exactly who you are … (well, maybe not The Grok.) One thing’s for sure… these folks, especially the Grok, are not easily forgotten.

2. Teach with your heart on the line. The teacher who cares the most wins … so come prepared, give it your all, and don’t say goodbye until literally everyone in the group has had some kind of breakthrough.

3. Hand out plenty of handouts. Class notes, additional resources, your own articles, forms, great quotations, etc., are essential marketing tools. Every one of them should have all of your contact information on them, including your brand name, email, website, all phone numbers, and fax. Put them in a snappy folder with a sticker on the cover that bears, yes… your brand name … and website. Then staple your business card to the inside of the folder. And be sure to include a well done onesheet or brochure about your coaching services.

4. Give away a free coaching session during the break. Simply pass around a hat or jar to collect business cards as folks come in (they can also substitute name and email on paper.) Then draw your winner just before the break, which gives you the opportunity to give your coaching a discreet plug. This technique is especially helpful if you’re doing your workshop in a venue where you have not done registered the class, and you lack contact info for the group. That nice jar of business cards gives you fodder for your database.

5. Don’t oversell your coaching. Just mention it a few times lightly, and let the truly interested approach you. Better yet, instead of selling it, tell some stories (protecting confidentiality, of course) from your practice that demonstrate what you do. That gives you the power of attraction, as opposed to the stink of the hard sell. If you do your job effectively, they will come.

6. Stress the importance of getting support at some point in your presentation. Support is one thing that most people really deny themselves, yet that is so critical to success. And what better support is there than coaching? Seed it lightly but firmly in your talk.

7. Continue to do your workshop in any appropriate market. Nothing builds a base of clients like consistently getting out there. Your name gets heard, and your brand registers each time it does. You can travel locally or globally with this. But make a point of researching different markets to find your perfect group. I do this by seeing where other comparable workshop leaders are doing their thing, and I observe how they market themselves to these groups. Then I set up comparable tours.

6 Biggest Internet Marketing Myths

6 Biggest Internet Marketing Myths

by: Paul Penafiel

In every myth there is an element of truth. Read the sections below to discover the grain of truth in all of these Internet marketing myths.

Myth #1: Internet Marketing is EASY

This is probably the biggest myth of all, and let me tell you Internet marketing takes time, effort not mention money and anyone who suggests otherwise is trying to sell you a bunch of horse hockey. Granted that itกs comparatively easier to brick and mortar in that thereกs no inventory to carry, no shipping of goods and virtually no overhead, but a lot of work is still involved.

Affiliate marketing eliminates the cost of production, construction and employees.

Myth #2: ANYONE Can Make Money Online

Folks, this is simply not true. Unless someone gets off that lazy boy recliner and download/read everything they can about internet marketing, and put an action plan in motion, they will never make a dime on the internet. DO NOTHING, MAKE NOTHING.

Myth #3: You Can กGET RICH QUICKก On the Net!

This is the trap that a lot of newbie internet marketers falls into, why because scammers make it sounds so easy and let me tell you, chasing กget rich quick schemeก is a waste of time, money and energy. It just won’t happen overnight, instead do some research and find out what people really want and need then give it to them.

Myth #4: Itกs FREE to Do Business Online

This is one of my favorite myths because I believed it during my first year of marketing online and it just wasn’t true then, it isn’t true today. Compared to opening your first coffee shop or gift shop in downtown Los Angeles, internet business startup cost and maintenance cost is pretty low. Once you have your domain set up, you only pay for internet connection, advertising and ongoing educations, thatกs it.

Myth #5: Itกs TOO LATE to Start an Internet Business

Most super affiliate marketers would love to hear people say กItกs too late now, too many competitions, I should just pack my bags and go home, the internet is too complicated, etc…ก. You know why? the less people they have to compete with the better which in turn will make them more money.

The fact is, itกs never ever too late to start anything and that includes internet business. I firmly believe that the internet is not going anywhere and you should too. Every year the stats will show you the number of people shopping online are increasing, their spending dollars are growing also.

Myth #6: The BIG Money Talk is JUST HYPE

Have you heard of the phrase, กit takes money to make money?ก Well itกs true, although you will be hard pressed to find super affiliate to tell how much they spend on promoting and advertising. Sometimes, you have to dig a little deeper to find the truth in every hype you read.

If you are willing to take the necessary action to make กbig moneyก happen for you it will.

Or criticize, be skeptical and sure that กbig moneyก can’t happen for you and it won’t. If you believe that you will succeed you’re right, if you believe that it won’t work, you’re right also.

To summarize, you have heard peopleกs story how they’re making a fortune on the internet and how easy it is but the reality is some stories are not out of this world or unrealistic. You just have to apply a bit of common sense into it, find what you love to do and you my friend might find the right opportunity to make all your dreams come true.

Cracking The Billable Hours Ceiling

Cracking The Billable Hours Ceiling

by: C.J. Hayden

How many of you made as much money as you wanted to last year? Don’t be shy; raise your hands. Hmm, I don’t see too many hands out there. What would you say is the cause of this gap between your goals and your earnings?

While you could certainly name the economy or inadequate marketing as the culprit, Iกd like to suggest a third alternative. It may be the constraints of the billable hours model that keep you from your financial goals.

Letกs face it, there are only so many hours you can actually bill to clients. For example, the national average for consultants is 22 billable hours per week. You can only raise your rates so high and still find enough customers. And if you spend more time on marketing, thatกs less time you have available to bill.

But thereกs a way out of this trap. No matter what type of business you’re in, you can use intellectual property to crack the billable hours ceiling. Here are just some of the ways to start tapping into this resource today:

Package your process. What if every time you began work with a new client, they paid an upfront fee before you spent even one hour with them? If you sell a process rather than your time, clients will pay for access to your previously developed materials. Examples are workbooks, forms, assessments, surveys, games, selfpaced programs, and trainthetrainer packages.

Give a class. When you assemble a group of people to learn together, you can earn more per hour than working with them separately. Classes can be given at your office, at a rented (or borrowed) facility, on the phone, or on the web. Your market for classes is not just your clients think about what you could teach your colleagues as well.

Record a tape, CD, or video. The simplest way to make recordings is to capture your live classes or speaking engagements on audio or video. Make your unedited recordings available immediately on the web or by phone. More polished recordings can be made with the help of a local studio or editor, or you can learn to do this yourself with the right equipment.

Write a white paper, workbook, or booklet. Short publications like these are easily within your reach, even if you don’t consider yourself a writer. A simple 20page booklet might have as few as 4000 words in it. If youกve written four articles to promote your business, youกve probably already written this much. These are perfect formats for ebooks, which cost you nothing to print.

Author a book. This might seem an impossible task, but if you write one page a day, five days a week, at the end of a year youกll have a fulllength book. If writing isn’t your strong point, find an editor, ghost writer, or even a coauthor who has the skills you lack. You don’t have to wait until your book is finished to start selling excerpts as articles and white papers.

Market other peopleกs products. If you don’t yet have your own product, don’t let it stop you. You can begin earning passive income by selling other peopleกs books and tapes, becoming a reseller for software or assessment tools, licensing someone elseกs process, or joining affiliate programs.

Any of these products can be marketed in conversations with prospects and clients, in your standard marketing kit, in mailings or newsletters, on your outgoing voice mail message, and on your web site.

If youกve been counting on hourly fees for your entire income, you may be surprised at the impact developing your intellectual property will have. It will add not only to your revenue, but also your professional credibility. And in poor economic times, you will find that prospects who hesitate to pay for personal service will still purchase classes and information products.

Advertising Doกs and Don’ts

Advertising Doกs and Don’ts

by: Jeremy Gislason

As you begin marketing and promoting your online business you are going to run into some unbelievable advertising opportunities. Generally speaking if the ad offering sounds too good to be trueIt is.

There are companies that will tell you they will get you listed in the top 10 search engines or place your link on millions of sites or they will get you listed in the top 10 returns of search engines. This last one sounds similar to the first, but there is a big difference.

Google searches over 3 billion pages during their searches. The companies that tell you they will get you listed in the top 10 of the major search engines would have to defy all the principles of math to do this. They could not work with more than a few companies in order to achieve this and honestly, there is no way they can get you listed in the top 10 of the search engines placements at all unless they make up their own search terms and people search on that specific term.

Stay away from the companies that tell you they are going to place you in search engines for a fee, for the most part they will do nothing more than use a site software submitter. You can get your own software for this or use an online service and submit your site yourself for a lot less than what most SEO companies charge for this service.

Guaranteed traffic They work fine for free sites or if your goal is to build a database of names, but if you are selling a product or service, you will get hits, but not many sales.

Mass email Any company that tells you they will send your ad to millions of people for $20 or $30 is simply taking your money. This might sound inviting, but do not waste your money. They are either using site submit tools or sending your ad to millions of harvested email addresses. The companies who tell you they are going to submit your site to millions of pages will most likely do what they say, but you will not see any return and may even get you Spam complaints.

Mass emails are a complete waste of your money regardless of what product you are selling. There are many sites that will tell you they will send your ad to double optin lists of people. We have tried over a dozen of these services and have barely received a hit, much less sales. The problem is you lose control over your ad when you use mass email companies. There is no way to verify the ad was sent and if you could verify it was sent, there is no way to tell it was sent to the numbers they promise. Plus, you run the risk of being accused of Spam.

Solo ads These are by far one of the best methods of promoting your product and service. They are targeted, you can verify the numbers and you can subscribe using a unique email and verify the ad was sent on the day and time it was supposed to be sent.

Consultants Use your best judgment when hiring consultants, call some or send an email and ask about a money back guarantee if they cannot meet the objectives they set forth. I am not a big believer in moneyback guarantees because if a service is valuable and you can see the value before you buy, then a money back guarantee is not necessary. However, if someone comes to you and says, I can make your site profitable within 30 or 60 or 90 days and it is going to cost you X amount of money, then they should give you your money back if they do not achieve the desired results.

A good consultant will work with companies that he or she knows they can help by relying on their background and expertise in certain areas of marketing and advertising. Nobody knows everything, but if someone has an expertise in an area that I lack knowledge with, I would hire him or her in a second if they can honestly help me and they can prove they can help me and they will back up what they tell me.

We get emails every day from people who want to join ISOR with the plan of retiring in a month, making a million dollars without doing anything, etc. and we turn every one of them down. There is no business on the Internet or in traditional business where you can accomplish this type of unrealistic goal.

There are, however consultants who will tell you what you want to hear, just to get your business. They take your money and run and they will not help you a bit. We hired a copy writer one time who seemed like a good fit for our company and only after she finished the writing at $120 an hour did she tell me that she would not buy my product. Not because she could not benefit from it, but she refused to pay for anything online. Her copy was terrible and we ended up rewriting the entire sales page. Her feelings and beliefs came across in her writings. It was simply impossible for her to write positively when her mind was telling her negative things.

We have many marketing and advertising partners and all the companies we partner with have been tested by us to offer valuable services, but there are thousands of other companies on the Internet and you might find a very good company with a very good service that works for you and within your budget. Not all companies are out to cheat you, but the purpose of this article is to forewarn you regarding where you spend your advertising dollars.

We have spent a lot of money and time buying and trying different advertising options and by using our own ad campaign and link tracking system for all our advertising campaigns we have the data to back up what we say.

Research your advertising options carefully and do not get pulled into a good deal just because it sounds like a good deal. You do not need to spend a lot of money to advertise and promote your business, you just need to use your common sense and think long term.

You Know You’re Too Ethical When…

You Know You’re Too Ethical When…

by: Judith Kallos

Yeah, TOO ethical!? Lately, with some of the issues Iกve had to deal with in my day to day business activities it seems I am one of the rare few who is concerned about proper ethics and is naturally inclined to react with integrity.

The last straw was when faced with a dilemma of one of my client’s competitors กcheatingก for positioning online by using tactics obviously against the terms of service for most search sites, in this case Google. I explained that they had great listings (only one slot below the cheaters) and that our plan was for long term successes while the other guy’s could end at any moment. I then had to listen to this client lecture that I was too ethical when I would not use these same tactics to help gain listings for their site. They then commented กWeกll have to work on you!ก

Work on making me less ethical? Work on getting me to agree to break the rules? It seems as of late my solid methodology of strong business staples, knowledge acquisition and long term strategizing seems to be making me a real PIA. See, I am not one of those who will say what a potential client wants to hear just to get the call back stating กsend us a contract.ก Nor do I cater to the hype and online schemes of quick results or easy income just to book another billable hour. Silly me.

How about all those online auctions where the item’s price is $1.00 only to find out they charge you the balance of the product’s cost in กshipping and handlingก fees? I sure wish eBay would nip that in the bud! Shipping and handling should be shipping and handling, not a combo of the product’s price just so the seller can be listed as the least expensive when in fact they are not.

I contacted one such seller online about this strategy and was typed to as though I was the idiot ขdo the mathข he said. Is everything online turning into the best man wins that figures out how to use deceptive practices or sugarcoat reality to the point of making your teeth ache just to make a buck? On second thought, don’t answer that…

Iกve been doing this long enough to know all the red flags, hype and pitfalls. And some of them do work in the short term with certain demographics. I also know the right way to do things and that if followed you will succeed but you may not have the instant results all the fast, cheap and easy noise online claims is possible. When you deviate from the line of what is right, it will always hit you in the back of the head. Yes, sooner or later sometimes later but what comes around always does go around even online.

I may have lost a client to an unscrupulous ขblack hatข SEO firm using trickery and linking schemes to inflate results for the near term. But for the long term, these issues as well as many others I run into are simply not in my character to cater to when I know what is right and I won’t.

You know you’re too ethical when:

You give your clients the details and realworld view of what is required to achieve online success whether it is what they prefer to hear or not.

You do not minimize what is involved in efforts, time or cost to reach their goals.

You are clear and realistic about your own skill set and only offer services you excel at.

You provide referrals to other juried businesses whose expertise is outside your realm of experience.

You charge a fair price for your offerings reflecting the quality of the product/service offered.

You point out to clients in detail when their goals are unrealistic and why.

You don’t hide your productกs actual cost in other ขfeesข.

You have your terms, policies or modus operandi available online for client review 24/7 and you back them up.

You back up your work, offering refunds when necessary and don’t charge to remedy oversights or errors on your part.

You do not buckle to clients or customers who demand you deviate from what you know is right just to get their business. => You don’t email anyone without their explicit permission to do so period!

My business is all about ethics and integrity in an industry of hype and misinformation. Iกve not signed every potential client that has come my way, but that is O.K. I know that for those who are smarties and hire me that they made the right choice for all the right reasons not because I was willing to compromise my ethics, cut corners or break the rules just so either of us could make a buck. In the long term, we both succeed.

It’s so nice to be able to look at my cute little face in the mirror each day when I go home. For those who haven’t been able to do that lately, add a dose of integrity to your life you might find honesty refreshing and actually fre*eing compared to sinister deception for commercial gain.

กNever give in! Never give in! Never, never, never. Never in anything great or small, large or petty never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.ก ~ Winston Churchill
