FFA/Reversed Marketing

FFA/Reversed Marketing

by: Thomas Grodem

Have you ever submitted your ad to an FFA page? most likely you have. Did you get any results from it or did you just get a ton of emails in your inbox?

FFA pages are gaining popularity popping like bombs everywhere!

What is an FFA page? It is a free for all page.

How it works is quite simple: you place a line of text on the FFA site for free…like thousands of other advertisers each day.

The problem with FFA pages is that everybody is submitting their ad to it. So each time a new ad is submitted, all the other ads roll down one rank and the oldest ad is dropped of. What originally gave an exposure of days per submission, today only gives you about 30 minutes. This means you have to submit at least 3 times a day. You can do this automatically by using an auto submitter, which claims to submit your ad to a zillion websites. You must understand that this is not regular websites, but search engines, Directories and FFA pages.Still it is a lot of ads, and someone might see it.

The lack of results from these ads is because:

your ad is mixed in with hundreds of other ads

Have you ever visited an FFA page and looked at the ads? Today most people use automated submission tools, so they never visits the site.

If someone does visit the page, your ad could be gone within a few hours or less.

Fore those of you that has submitted your ads to FFA pages, you must have noticed all the emails you receive back.

How would you like to be the one sending out those emails?

What i am saying is that you shouldn’t POST to FFA pages… You should HOST your own FFA page!

There is several ways to approach hosting your own FFA page.

You could create it yourself if you know how. Or, there is someone willing to help you for free. Go to http://ratesaver.com.au/lp.htm

The next step you have to do is notifying URL submission services.

The manual way: use search engines like google to find URL submission services and notify them of your links page

The automatic way: go to http://ratesaver.com.au/tsalintro.htm

Enter your links page title and address. Press submit and you will notify over 140 URL submission services about your page.

This service costs us$19.95.

Now you are the one sending out all those emails with your info in them. It’s called ‘reversed advertisingก. And it’s the most effective way to market yourself on the internet today!

The Power of Reverse Advertising

The Power of Reverse Advertising

by: Steve Tanner

How many times have you heard that posting on FFA sites are a complete waste of time?

Are FFA sites really a complete waste of time? …Yes they are!

Then why do millions of people still post on FFA pages every single day of the year.

It sure beats me!

The ONLY people gaining from FFA sites are the people that กHOSTก them.

กWHY?ก… I hear you ask. Well listen very carefully.

Everytime somebody wants to post on a FFA site, they have to receive an email confirmation and agree to receive ONE email from the person who hosts the FFA page.

So, letกs say I wanted to post on YOUR FFA page. I submit my link on your page and receive an email confirmation.

Now, apart from the confirmation link, can you guess what else may be in that confirmation email?

Thatกs right my friend… YOUR AD promoting YOUR product!

This is whatกs known as ‘reverse Advertisingก and is an ingenious form of advertising for the FFA host because it is a REQUIREMENT that they open your confirmation email sent to them by YOU, ‘the FFA hostก, before their AD can be placed.

This doesn’t count towards your daily ad, so you can still send one MORE email to this lead. Therefore, the person who originally posted on your FFA page is now receiving YOUR ads.

Now imagine this… you OWN a couple of FFA sites that get thousands of posts every single day with your ads going out to thousands of people in the confirmation email as well as sending ONE daily email to your leads the day after.

You are receiving กguaranteedก massive advertising by including your advertisement in the confirmation email.

This is exactly what I do and the other savvy marketers do to generate up to 50,000 targeted visitors every day and rake in thousands of sales every month.

This form of advertising is กPermission Based Advertisingก and allows YOU to email thousands of targeted prospects at NO charge and without ever being accused of spamming!

This my friend is ‘the Power of Reverse Advertisingก.

The Deception of FFA Advertising

The Deception of FFA Advertising

by: Dan J. Fry

FFA, or Free For All sites are the next generation of internet marketing. Or at least thatกs what many want you to believe.

FFA sites are places where anyone can post a short ad with a link, as long as they agree to accept emails from the site owner. Some of the most popular sites are

ffanet.com

myebiz.com

prolinks.com

kiosk.com

ffamailblaster.com

At first thought this seems like a remarkable way to advertise. But, there are major problems here.

First off, the only way for the advertisement to work is for people to visit the FFA site where it is posted. But the only people it seems that visit these sites are those that post an ad. To make matters worse, 99% of posts are done now through autosubmiters. So who actually sees your ad? Absolutely no one.

You may have received emails from FFA site owners of claiming that advertising via an FFA is worthless unless you actually own the site. Their flawed reasoning (which I will explain shortly) is that as the owner, you get to post your own ads on the site, and better yet, collect the email addresses of everyone posting. Moreover, you receive commissions on anyone signing up to purchase an FFA site of their own.

But wait! It gets better. The same people will claim that when submitting your ad, create a separate email account to store the large number of autoresponder messages you will receive and other advertisements. So, if you don’t want your primary email account to fill up, create a secondary account and simply delete the emails as they come in.

Now iกm really confused. If people who submit to my now owned and paying monthly FFA site, create a secondary email address to submit when posting, only to delete all of the advertisements they receive, why exactly do I want their email address?

The entire logic of using FFAกs for increasing site traffic and advertising is severely flawed. Whatกs even worse is that most search engines rank these sites lowly if at all. So where exactly then do you advertise your FFA site?

I performed a very simple test. I created a simple EZine sign up form, separate from my site, and used a well known autosubmit software to กBlastก my add to the entire FFA network, which claimed millions of page views per day. Submission was done once per day, at the same time for a period of 1 week. How many responses? 1! A single response that did not even sign up.

FFA sites for advertising are worthless. Youกll hear many argue that they work if your careful. I would like to believe it would. Definitely easy to submit to and the exposure would be phenomenal. The cold hard truth is that they do not.

Below are a few of what I find to be comical ad headlines posted at FFA sites. Enjoy!

(1)กGet your classified ad in 5,000,000 emails and 111,000 websites everyday for free without spammingก. (If you follow the link you find that what is being promoted is another FFA site!)

(2)ก$1.67=massive incomeก (I wonder if they know that this is not an equality?!)

(3)กGetting 5,000 optin leads daily.ก (1 year amounts to 150,000 subscribers. Just about the population of a small town!)

(4)กDelivers an endless flood of traffic!ก (Perpetual motion?!)

(5)’retire in months for only $6!ก (The state of Florida is about to get an incredible population boost)

(6)’the secret to getting a million visitors to your site!ก

FFA Should You Or Shouldn’t You?

FFA Should You Or Shouldn’t You?

by: Randy Justason

Whether you are an experienced online marketer or just starting out in your own home based business, youกve probably heard someone tell you to FFA.

No, they were not being rude!

Actually FFA stands for Free For All, and Free For All sites are advertising sites. Whether you should use them or not is your choice.

In order to help you make an informed decision, I offer you this article.

There are literally millions of FFA sites on the internet. All one has to do is to go to any search engine and type FFA into the search box. With most of them you have to register before you can submit an ad and there is good reason for this, as you will see below.

Normally all you get to put on FFA sites is a one line ad linking to one URL. You usually get the opportunity to choose a category for your ad, so that may help a bit. Unfortunately, you can’t say much in one line so you better make your ad stand out.

Another thing you should know is that most of the people visiting FFA sites are other advertisers placing their ads. That could actually be a plus if you are advertising something that online marketers may be looking for.

Of course, there is always a downfall to that. Today many marketers have access to programs that will submit their ads to the FFA sites automatically, therefore there may actually be very few visitors to the site.

Something else you should be aware of is that every time you place an ad on a FFA site you will receive an email back confirming your submission. If you place hundreds of these daily, you are going to get hundreds of emails. A good idea is to get yourself a free email account (such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Lycos, etc) and use that email address instead of your normal home email address. It won’t take long before it is overloaded with spam.

Now you may ask yourself, why use FFA sites if I can’t say much about my product, nobody is going to read it anyway and Iกm going to get tons of spam?

Good question.

Remember I mentioned about registering? Well, the owner of the FFA site gets to send a confirmation email out to every advertiser who posts an ad. If you think about it for a minute you will see that could mean sending hundreds of emails a day. And hundreds of ads!

Thatกs right, every confirmation email will have the owners ad in it. And that, my friends, is the upside of FFAs. Free advertising for you!

You simply sign up for a free FFA site of your own, set up your email using the siteกs autoresponder and let it do itกs thing. Every time someone places an ad, they automatically receive your email with your ad in it. And, if you have your own web site, simply put a small ad on it somewhere giving people the opportunity to place free ads and send them to your FFA site.

Most FFA sites will also let you upgrade, for a fee, and be able to collect the email addresses of every person who posts an ad. This could help you build your own email list, however, unless you have something of value to keep them interested, most of them will unsubscribe.

There is another small plus for using FFA sites. If you are advertising your own web site all of the ads you place using your web siteกs URL gives you another link back to your site. Although most search engines place little value on this type of link for ranking purposes, I believe any link back to your site is of value, especially since many search engines use spiders to find sites by following links.

So there you have it, FFA sites, should you use them or not? Itกs up to you.

Internet Advertising Schemes to Avoid

Internet Advertising Schemes to Avoid

by: Rebecca Gilbert

For those of you who have Home Businesses on the Internet, you know by now that you have to develop a steady stream of traffic to your website in order to produce enough sales to grow and substantiate your business. Bottom line…no traffic = no sales. No sales = failed business.
During my two years on the Internet, I have tried many forms of advertising that have been less than successful. I am writing this article to all the ขnewbiesข out there who flock to these forms of advertising because they are easy and free, and after these advertising methods have produced none of the desired results, they leave with a feeling that they have been scammed and that the Internet is not the virtual marketplace that everyone has raved about.
In reality, the Internet is the virtual marketplace of the future and is producing mindboggling sales for the entrepreneurs who are pursuing effective advertising methods.
The first form of advertising that leaves the worst taste in my mouth is called FFA advertising (Free for All). In my opinion, FFA sites prey on ขnewbiesข, promising that they will put their ad on thousands of websites, often supplying the newbies with automated software so they can accomplish this with one click of the button.
Then their ad is placed on thousands of different FFA sites at one time. What they don’t tell you is that these pages your ad is placed on are never seen by the general public, because they aren’t listed in any search engines, directories, or any of the mainstream traffic locations.
To add insult to injury, while you’re using the automated software to place your ad on a thousand FFA pages, millions of other newbies are doing the same thing. There isn’t enough room on these FFA pages for all the incoming submissions, so your ad may be on these FFA pages for 30 minutes max, and is then dropped.
The real scam behind these FFA sites is that you have to provide your email address in order to submit to them. These email addresses are a free for all for whoever wants to use them. Your inbox is then bombarded with hundreds if not thousands of junk emails each day of people wanting you to join their opportunity.
The next advertising method that produces less than desired results is the surf for clicks programs. While these are not half as bad as the FFA sites, they are about 99% ineffective.
Basically, the way the surf for clicks programs work is that you are required to view various websites for a short period of time, for every website that you view, you will earn a credit. If you look at ten websites and earn 10 credits, your website will inturn be shown to someone else 10 times.
Let’s look at this surf for clicks logically. Who are you advertising to? You are advertising to other network marketers and Internet business owners. If they already have a business, then how many do you think will sign up for yours? What are they looking for? They are looking to get traffic, the same as you…they are NOT looking to sign up for another program or purchase a product.
You must understand that you need to put your opportunity in front of the general public. Where does 85% of all the Internet traffic come from? It comes from the Search Engines.
Getting a listing in the search engines is also ขtargeted trafficข. Meaning that someone has to input a keyword combination that is associated with your website, and when your site is displayed, its because your site is specifically targeted to what they are looking for.
When this happens for you, you truly will be successful in your business.
There are many other forms of advertising on the Internet that produce poor results, but these are the two biggest hitters that come to mind.

Do not post to FFAกs (Free For All Sites) & Link F

Do not post to FFAกs (Free For All Sites) & Link Farms

by: Martin Lemieux

With learning about online promotion, there is so much information out there about กwhat you should be doingก to promote you business. This tutorial will be to inform you about what you SHOULDN’t DO!

What are (FFAกs) Free For All Sites & Link Farms?

These types of sites can be recognized by their one purpose. To list 100กs, maybe 1000กs of กOne Line Adsก on all on one page.

What was the initial purpose?

A few years back when this form of promotion was very popular, everyone was posting their one line ads on these types of sites for more traffic to their site and a better กlink popularityก. It was soon realized that กFFAก sites don’t do either.

How can adding a small, one line ad accompanied by 100กs of others that isn’t related to each other benefit you???

THEY CAN’t!

The only people they benefit are spammers…

Hereกs why!

Once you submit your one line classified ad, you automatically give the owners of the FFA sites to send you messages. At the same time, there are 1000กs of marketers who are gathering your email to do the very same thing.

FFAกs are like being in heaven to spammers…

Honestly though, have you ever spent the time to visit a site from these lists?

Do you honestly want to ruin your email just from posting one time??? I guarantee you that your inbox will be full within a matter of weeks.

On another note, Google is actively searching these FFA sites and penalizing them. They offer no use to visitors. Please do your business a favor, never list and FFA sites on your site, you might be subject to being penalized as well from Google.

Once that happens, youกll be spending most of your time trying to recover from the loss.

If your initial intensions are to build a better กLink Popularityก, download our FREE ebook กLink Popularity Handbookก and learn what you should be doing…

Understanding the Different Methods of Online Prom

Understanding the Different Methods of Online Promotion

by: Stone Evans

Did you realize there are only three types of online promotion?… This statement may seem odd and even untrue in your mind, but I am speaking in more general terms than you might be thinking.

Let me explain.

The three types of promotion are Junk, Active and Passive promotions.

JUNK PROMOTIONS ARE MONEY PITS

Junk promotions are those that seem to produce results, but by their very nature are really only illusionary promotions.

For example, let me begin with FFA (Free For All) pages. You might find yourself subscribing to a submission program that tricks you into believing you are submitting your links to tens of thousands search engines.

According to the Open Directory website, they have only approved 1705 search engines and directories for inclusion in their database (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Searching/).

I like using the DMOZ directory as an example because submitted links are tested by human beings with integrity, for the honesty used in site description. Search Engine Watch and other search watchers tend to show fewer than these 1705 engines, primarily because a lot of the engines provide very little value.

Yes, you can submit your URL to a FFA page, but FFA’s usually only permit 100 or 1000 links on their page at any one time. So, if ten thousand people are submitting a link to an FFA page on a daily basis, then the average life of your link is between seven minutes and 144 minutes. I suspect the actual number of submitters is much higher and the results are much worse. Given that few people surf FFA pages, the chances of your submission being of any real value is practically nill!

Most of the people telling you that you can submit your site to tens of thousands of search engines are truly only submitting your site to FFA pages! Beware of the false promises.

Another junk promotion method is Safe Lists. A safe list is a mailing group that is signed up to be received by people who want to submit their own ads. Now, most safe lists have thousands of subscribers who are able to submit their ads daily or weekly. The person signed up to receive the list will receive anywhere from twenty to 140+ messages a day from the list. These messages will be received by people only interested in promoting their own thing who do not have the right motivation to open, let alone read Your Advertising. As a result, thousands of messages go out daily or weekly that will never be seen by anyone but the sender of the ad. Where is the value in that? There is none.

ACTIVE PROMOTIONS

Active promotions are the type that require you to go out on a daily basis or a weekly basis and put out your advertisements. With active promotions, you will either place your advertising or you will not sell your products or services. Your choice is simple work or starve.

Examples of active promotions include Pay Per Click Search Engines (PPCSE’s), Direct Email, Ezine Advertising, Solo Ezine Ads, Newsletter Publishing, Ezine Ad Swaps, Classified Ads, Auctions, Site Sponsorship and Banner Ads.

Some people are able to utilize these methods very productively, while others are destined to drop their money into the bottomless pit of failed Internet promotions.

PASSIVE PROMOTIONS

Passive promotions are those promotions that can continue to provide results for you long after you have invested the work to make them available to the Internet community.

Examples of passive promotions include: Link Exchanges, Articles, Ebooks, Content Exchanges and Writing Testimonials for others.

Let’s look at articles as a solid example of my point.

You are reading an article that I have written to promote my own business. This article is timeless and therefore could have been written five years ago and still have been as valuable as it is today.

Due to the fact that the article is timeless, it can and will be placed in newsletters/ezines and their accompanying online archives, on websites and in ebooks for many more years to come.

As a result, this article will continue to serve me well beyond the time in which I wrote it and submitted it to publishers and webmasters for public consumption and publication.

This is the best example I can give you of an excellent passive promotional method.

AVOID THE MONEY PITS

Many try and even fewer succeed to conquer the Internet and to produce their dreams of online wealth.

My hope is that you will be one of the people who conquer the challenges before you and to make a nice living while working online. It will take drive, determination, study plus trial and error, but you can make it work for you.

Please continue to educate yourself so that you can avoid the money pits instead, strive to find the money barrels. It can be done. I am living proof.
