What Google Can Teach You About Success

What Google Can Teach You About Success

by: Nigel Owen

Let me share with you something that I found so interesting.

It was on a Sunday night Janary 2nd to be precise. I was watching the football games during the day on CBS and saw the promo for their show 60 Minutes later that night.

I love hearing about success stories so I was excited when they said they would be doing a feature on the SUCCESS of GOOGLE.

I just finished dinner and the segment was about to start so I went over to the TV.

The reporter was interviewing the 2 founders, they showed the company headquarters, and THEN they brought up something where I said BINGO.

Hereกs what caught my attention.

For quite a few years I was going nowhere. I had all the ideas in the world, but never did anything with them.

I procrastinated (a ton).

Fear was holding me back.

I was scattered.

(This wasn’t a fun time in my life.)

But, THEN things began to change BECAUSE of this ONE SUCCESS Principle. And this is the same SUCCESS PRINCIPLE that has helped Google soar.

Paraphrasing 60 minutes (the TV Show) last night.

Google Founders:

กEverything we do we start in BETA (BETA means a test).

For all our projects, we just get it out there, get it going, where itกs at a กCก level and then we get feedback on what people like, don’t like, and then we go from there.ก

Hereกs what Google was really saying and hereกs the success principle that changed my life.

กYOU don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going.ก

(Read this again.)

I used to wait until everything was perfect and fear stared at me and I didn’t move.

This was for many years.

But then I decided to JUST GET GOING.

Think about it this way.

In school, we get graded, A, B, C and D.

As a trader, investor or market maker, even when your trading ideas are at a ‘C’, you should still get it GOING!

Then, find out which trading strategy you like/dislike and improve it.

It sounds so simple, but most people have 10 pounds of cement holding their ideas hostage.

Successful entrepreneurs and traders get going!

Itกs the only way to TRULY get wisdom and experience.

Ask yourself this question:

What have I been putting off, procrastinating about, that I can just get going today?

Are you currently trading the currency market but have yet to find a workable trading strategy?

Have you yet to even consider what this now in vogue market, the foreign exchange (FOREX) can do for your pocketbook?

THINK ABOUT THIS. What if you cud not only กget it goingก but, thru 2 people who have *beentheredonethat*, could *get it right* almost immediately?

Thru Rapid Forexกs selfstudy manuals you can.

Expert Qualities in Sales

Expert Qualities in Sales

by: Jay Conners

If you went to see your doctor, and he mentioned a particular over the counter drug to you, or a particular type of food that was healthy, chances are, you would listen to this advice, than go out and buy the product.

Why is it that when a doctor recommends a product, people buy it without any hesitation, without talking it over with their spouse, and without asking any questions.

The main reason being, people respect and trust their doctors, they see them as experts on medical topics, even though they are not authorities on every subject.

The relationship between a doctor and patient is built on trust and developed over time, therefore a doctor doesn’t have to sell anything, he simply has to recommend things, and people will buy.

Unfortunately, for sales people, it just isn’t that easy. Here are a few ways you can begin to command the respect of your customers so that they will see you as an authority on the products you sell.

1. Gaining trust

Work at getting your customer to trust you. This can be hard in the beginning because you and your customer are meeting for the very first time. Start out by getting to know your customer, look for things that you might have in common. Let them know that building a relationship with them is more important to you than the products you sell.

Listen carefully to them and explain anything and everything in plain English so that they will understand. Don’t be pushy, let them go at their own pace, but keep the conversation going. The more time you spend with your customer, the better, because by spending time with them, they will get know you better. When they get to know you better, they begin to trust you.

2. Product knowledge

Know your products, study them inside and out. Your customer is going to want to know what your product can do for them, how it will make their lives easier, and how it can save them money. They are not concerned about your weekly or monthly goals.

If a customer wants to know something about your product, you want to be prepared to answer, so study your products. Would you buy a product from someone who didn’t know anything about the product, I wouldn’t.

3. Be accessible

Always be available to your customer, give them your cellular phone number as well as your office phone number. By giving them your cell number you have just taken your first step to personalizing your business relationship. Make your customer understand that you are available to answer any questions they may have, or to discuss any concerns they may have.

Keep in mind, by having them become comfortable calling you, you are giving yourself an opportunity to up sell every time they call you. Or you can just simply make them aware of any new products you have, or any new promotions going on.

Remember, building relationships is about trust. If your customers trust you, than they will do business with you. If your customer likes you and trusts you, they will most likely refer their family and friends to you.

Make it a personal goal to get to a point in the relationships you have with your customers to recommend them your products as opposed to selling them. Good luck

Do I Need a Resume to Find An AtHome Job?

Do I Need a Resume to Find An AtHome Job?

by: Jan Kovarik

Depending on the type of athome job you want to find, you might still need to have a resume, especially if you are going to be providing a businessprofessiontype service. For athome businesses that involve providing other nonprofessional services, you probably need only a business brochure or other printed information materials.
Professional AtHome Business
If your athome business venture means that you will be providing any type of professional service (book or recordkeeping, tax accounting, proofreading, graphics design, etc.), then you will probably be applying for freelance, outsource, or telenetworked (online) positions. In this case, you will probably need a resume (or a business précis, which is summary of important facts about your qualifications) that can be mailed, faxed, or attached to an email. You can either write your own or hire a professional resume writer to write one for you.
If you are comfortable with and confident that you can create the right type of resume or précis needed for the level of service you wish to offer, then you can use any template that is available in your computer wordprocessing system, or look for software that is designed to do resumes.
For resumes that you are going to mail, use good quality, monotone (one color) paper. For resumes that are going to be faxed, be sure the resume you print is printed as ขBest Qualityข and never fax a copy, always fax an original! For resumes that are going to be emailed, use as little formatting as possible and always test it by emailing your resume to several friends. Ask them to download and open your resume to verify that they have no problems with it.
For resumes that are going to be pasted into the body of an email, you definitely need to test it with several friends, preferably who all have different Internet Service Providers. Ask each friend what the resume actually looks like when the email open is opened. Fix any weird spacing and formatting to the extent possible and test it again.
ServiceType AtHome Businesses
If your athome business involves providing some sort of personal service (like giving birthday parties, doing dog grooming, making balloon bouquets, etc.), then you will need to think more along the lines of brochures and flyers that you can distribute. It is unlikely that you are going to have to ขapplyข for a job such that you will need a formal resume. For more information about brochures and flyers, please see ขCan I Write and Print My Own Business Brochures and Business Cards.ข
However, it would be a good idea to have a Business Fact Sheet that includes more specific information than you would normally include in a flyer or brochure. When a prospective customer or client begins to ask questions, you can offer your Business Fact Sheet (and then, of course, make sure all the customer’s questions do get answered!).
You can create an initial Business Fact Sheet just be keeping track of all the information that you are not including in your brochure. Also, as you begin to talk to prospective clients, make note of the typical questions that they ask. Keep updating your Business Fact Sheet until you have covered most of the questions that are asked or information that is requested.
Be sure to print your business information materials on goodquality paper and set your printer preferences to ขBetterข or ขBestข quality printing.
Things to Remember about Your Resume or Your Business Information Materials

If you don’t think you can write a resume that will get you the job, then hire a professional resume writer to do it for you
If you write your own resume, use clear, easytoread text, one page in length
Set your printer to ขBetterข or ขBestข quality printing
Print on goodquality paper
Test email attachment or text that you paste into an email by sending it to several friends, preferably who have different ISPs
Fax only an original, never a copy
Have a Business Fact Sheet available to give to prospective customers

Home Based Business Success A Predictor of Succe

Home Based Business Success A Predictor of Success Why do Many People Fail While Others Succeed.

by: Nick A. James

The following was taken from a conversation I had with a very successful individual in the Network Marketing business, and this also echoes my own personal observations.

I have been involved in this business for a number of years and I have seen people come and go from literally all walks of life, education levels, backgrounds, etc. I have worked with medical doctors, engineers, scientists and people who were only a step above being illiterate.

And while certain skills are beneficial, none are a predictor of success. But I can tell you what is the biggest predictor of success, and also in many cases a predictor of failure. I am never 100 percent right if I was I would put everything I have in the Stock Market, however one thing has always stuck out with me. You see I did an in depth analysis several years ago now (consulting a number of successful people) of what made some people successful and what made others basically quit or fail.

And here is what I determined to be true in almost all cases. And this in my observation doesn’t just apply to people in this industry but successful people everywhere. The people who were successful simply were going to figure out a way to make their business work.

They believed they were going to be successful.

They weren’t about to accept no as an answer. No matter how many times they heard กNoก or failed they got back up and kept on going. It didn’t matter how much they knew or how much experience they had they simply weren’t going to fail. Failure was not an option, if one thing didn’t work they would try something else.

It really comes down to heart. Heart is what kept Michael Jordon going after being cut from his High School basketball team as a sophomore. Heart is what kept Sylvester Stallone going after being flat broke and having his Rocky script rejected time and time again. All great men and women have the heart it takes to just try again one more time.

Of course the big advantage I feel many people today have is that they can rely on our experience so they don’t repeat our mistakes. And there are many more tools available today to help someone succeed than ever before.

I believe the one main reason franchises are so successful today is because of the large investment involved. First the entry price commitment of $50,000 to a half million dollars or more weeds out all the tire kickers and nonserious people. Second with that kind of investment someone is not going to give up easily.

There is no doubt in my mind that for the right person a home business is so much more superior to a franchise it ain’t even funny. The investment is a mere peanuts compared to a franchise and you aren’t tied down to your business such that you can’t go on vacation. If need be you can just take your business with you to whatever hotel you are staying in.

Plus for the same amount of work you can easily earn more than a franchise keep in mind you are going to spend 80100 hours per week working your franchise business the first year or so. And you may need two stores to make a good living.

The point is anybody, no matter what their background can succeed in the right home business, provided they have the desire and good mentors.

At Last, The Real Secret Of Internet Marketing….

At Last, The Real Secret Of Internet Marketing….

by: Richard Grady

I am going to share a real secret with you this week. A secret that can be summarized in two words. A secret that ALL successful Internet marketers know and apply. A secret that really is the difference between the success and failure of your online business. Sounds pretty important huh?

Well, it is and because of the fact that this is so important, I am going to share this secret with you for nothing thatกs right you can have this secret completely free of charge!!

Ok, here goes…..

The secret is: HARD WORK.

Yup, thatกs it hard work. Surprised? I am sure that many of you are. I am also sure that many of you are thinking กOh yeah, heard it all beforeก. Well, maybe you have heard it before but have you actually DONE IT?

You see, this is often the only difference between those that are successful and those that want to be. More and more I see people looking for the easy option or the กget rich quickก scheme. Let me tell you now, they don’t exist and whilst the Internet can eventually provide you with a very comfortable lifestyle with very little work, it comes at a price and that price is usually two or three years of hard work. That means working long hours for little or even no reward.

Let me give you some examples of the sort of thing I am talking about and see which category you fit into:

Several of my websites are based around helping people find wholesalers for a range of products that can be resold on the Internet or anywhere else for that matter. Dealing with wholesalers and finding that elusive product takes a degree of skill and commitment and often time it will be necessary to phone or visit several suppliers before you find what you are looking for. At the end of the day, you should expect to have to put some effort in after all, if it was as easy as just clicking on a website order button then everyone would be doing it right? Common sense you might think but I still get people emailing me after spending 15 minutes surfing through a couple of wholesale sites stating that they can’t find what they are looking for and can I do the research for them?

Talk about the lazy option. What is wrong with these people? They haven’t even bothered to pick up the telephone, let alone drive to a wholesalers to see what stock is available that isn’t listed online. It is as though they expect someone else to build their entire business for them and I am sorry but this is not going to happen.

Letกs talk about eBooks. Over the years I have promoted numerous different eBooks and other infoproducts and I am very careful to review every single product before making any mention of it in my newsletter or on my websites. I want to be sure that if I put my name to a product, I know that it contains quality content that will help the reader improve their online business or generate an income.

Because of this, it is extremely rare for me to get refund requests on products I have recommended but of course, from time to time, it does happen. This is fair enough and there can be many reasons why someone may not be happy with their purchase but you know the reason that really irritates me? It is when someone requests a refund a couple of hours (or even minutes) after making their purchase and states that they have read the eBook and the ideas contained within won’t work.

In 99.9% of cases, this translates as กIt all looks like too much hard work and I can’t be bothered….ก

The fact is that the majority of methods of earning a living online will be hard work of course they will do people really think that they are going to buy an eBook that will provide them with the knowledge to earn $100,000 a year for doing NOTHING? I wonder sometimes and this kind of attitude often leaves me staring at my computer screen with my jaw hanging down because I can’t believe that anyone can really believe that they are going to get the rewards without the effort.

When I started my online businesses, I would work 15 hour days, 7 days a week for several months at a time. I was rarely away from my PC and this went on for two or three years. Nowadays I work considerably less but if I am developing a new product or site I can easily put in a 60 70 hour week. Ask any successful online marketer and they will tell you the same.

So which category do you fit into? Are you committed to working your butt off for a few years to establish your online business or do you expect to sit back and hope that it all happens around you while you get on with your realworld life? If you are in the second category I am afraid you are going to be very disappointed. If you are in the first category then I have every respect for you and you are exactly the type of person that can make a superb life for themselves based around an Internet business.

One person that is most definitely in the first category is my friend, Andre Chaperon. Andre turned his back on the 9 to 5 rat race in October 2003 (just over a year ago) and has been building his online business ever since. I met Andre earlier this year and he is a กdoerก and knows the value of hard work. To celebrate the fact that he has managed to support himself for a year via his online efforts, Andre has released a report on affiliate marketing for his customers and subscribers. The report runs to 29 pages and will help you to understand how to successfully promote affiliate products. Andre has agreed that my readers can have a copy of the report for free too, so please feel free to grab your copy from this link:

A Business Guide For The Very New Internet Entrepr

A Business Guide For The Very New Internet Entrepreneur

by: Francisco Aloy

Did you recently buy your first computer and just started surfing the Net? Isn’t it fun? All the new websites and places to go, sights to see! Have you ever wondered if you can make money with your newfound toy?
I think that thought is something that comes into the mind of all Newbie computer users. I mean, thereกs no way you can miss all the offers from the heap of self proclaimed กGurusก selling you getrichquick plans and schemes! Nonetheless, people that started out just like you are making a good living on the Internet.
I know the constant assault of ads and all the new technology must be intimidating; some of it still intimidates me! Thatกs why Iกve decided to write the present article and make it as simple for a Newbie to understand the basics of Internet Marketing. Please follow me as I give you a guided tour.
The first thing you should do, is this:
Don’t purchase anything, at all! The previous sentence is so important because the pressure to buy all the assorted plans and schemes is so great. Look at it this way: Since you just got here, how in the world are you gonna know what to buy for your first step onto Net marketing?
Give yourself some time to get to know the Web, join many of the good forums and newsletters available. Discuss items that will help elevate your general knowledge of the Web and Internet Marketing, in particular. After a few months things will start to sink in and youกll be more Internet savvy!
While going to the forums and gaining experience, keep these questions twirling around in the back of your mind:
What kind of Internet business would make me happy?
What activity have I seen on the Web that I would love to do or be a part of?
Think about it for as long as what it takes and start coming up with a general business vision or inspiration. Don’t think you need to understand all the small details or particulars of the technology. All you need is a guiding vision and principle that will sustain you through the good and bad times.
Once you feel up to par with many of the concepts talked about at the forums and you start getting the itch to jump in with both guns blazing, consider these very basic items:
1 You are going to need your own website! Don’t get a frกee website because you want to establish your own identity. Furthermore, they don’t offer any services for a true business website. That point is very important because your website isn’t just a container that holds products you sell.
Your website IS YOUR FIRST PRODUCT !!!
2 The thing you really need to fill your website with is:
CONTENT!
It is provided mainly by the written word coupled with images and audio. You are going to do a bunch of writing. The source of content ideas is limited only by your imagination. If you need help with it, farm it out.
3 OK, so youกve got a website filled with content; how do you let the rest of the Web know you’re open for business?
Answer: PROMOTION!
You must live with the constant idea of promoting your website. Itกs done mostly through writing. Post articles at the forums with a link in your resource box. Offer your website to the Search Engines and directories. Write small informative booklets with links back to your website and give them away for frกee (BTW, thatกs called กviral marketingก).
In closing, Iกm going to say the number of ideas presented within this article is just to let you know your own Web business is a viable idea! The ways to get visitors to your website are limitless. If you have vision, focus and determination you will succeed in Web Marketing.

Blueprint of Online Success

Blueprint of Online Success

by: Dr Jamie Fettig

Iกm going to introduce you to what is potentially the most valuable strategy you’re ever going to learn about Internet Marketing, or even business in general. Once you grasp this concept and make it your own, your marketing life will never be the same again.

And, you’re going to wonder why this simple idea, which is so incredibly powerful and immediately useful, is not taught as part of every Internet seminar, home study course and eBook.

What works and what doesn’t

If youกve been in the market for Internet advice and guidance for any length of time, youกve probably noticed that things can get complicated and confusing quickly. Every กguruก seems to have his own technique and says you have to buy *his* method and sign up for his software if you’re going to succeed.

The truth is, if you bought every eBook, attended every teleseminar and bought every home study course, youกd never make any money because youกd be so tied up in knots trying to figure out which way to go, youกd have trouble picking a direction and getting started.

Building an income stream is like building a house… it starts with a blueprint.

Focus on what *matters*. Once you have the blueprint, the ‘toolsก part falls into place, but tools without a plan are useless.

Letกs say you decided you want to go into the house building business. So, like any intelligent person, you decide to do some research. You buy some books and go to some courses. So far, so good.

But what would you think if you went to a course or bought a book and instead of learning how to actually build houses, you were given a กrah rahก speech and pitched on saws and hammers and twobyfours?

No instruction on what *matters* when it comes to building a house. Nothing about picking a good location, laying a solid foundation, nor designing the house correctly; Just a thinly disguised sales pitch for an overpriced hammer.

Iกm sure you see the problem and yet what I just described is how most Internet marketing education works.

No insight, no real guidance. Just กDo what I say, give me your money and everything will work out fine.ก

There is a better way.

Products are EASY when you do it right

Hereกs the #1 most commonly asked question about Internet marketing.

กWhat should I sell online?ก

This question is completely backwards. The most important question you need to ask about marketing anything on the Internet or elsewhere is not กwhatก should I sell, but กwhomก should I sell to.

In other words, pick the market first.

Hereกs why this is so lifeanddeath important. Without a market in mind, itกs practically impossible to create a product that will sell.

On the other hand, when you have a market in mind, coming up with product ideas is as easy as falling off a log. Thereกs literally nothing to it.

Now, I ask you. What situation would you rather be in?

The person on the sidelines going round and round in circles trying to figure out what to sell and how to get started…Or the person who is in the game, putting points up on the scoreboard, and having fun. (Yes, business, when it is working right, is fun.)
