Hard Work!

Hard Work!

by: Robert J Farey

MAKE A MILLION $ PER MONTH.

No work involved.

Do it whilst sitting on the beach at Maliboo.

This may sound a bit extreme but how many adverts have you seen that are similar to it?

The trouble is that so many newcomers to the internet get taken in by this sort of hype. No wonder that so many get disillusioned and wrap up and go away never to return.

It is a real pity that this sort of thing is allowd to happen. If only people would tell the truth they would get a far better response to their adverts.

Tell it as it is.

With the right information and a little incentive it is possible to start a business working from home, using nothing more than a desktop computer and something to sell.

Starting a business is easy. Earning money from it is a different thing. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work.

Just a minute!

What do we mean by กhard workก?

Sitting at a keyboard for a couple of hours a day does not sound like hard work to those who are used to physical effort.

Nevertheless, If the typing was all that was required it would be a doddle.

There is more to it than that.

For instance:

Devising an advertising strategy takes a certain amount of expertise. That is something that the average Jack or Jill needs to learn, either the hard way from expreience, or the much easier way by asking the right questions from the right people.

What a lot of newcomers do not understand is that whatever they need to know, there is someone out there who is willing to give them the answers.

Willing to take them by the hand and guide them on the path to success.

That is something that you don’t get in normal business circles.

There are thousands of websites out there offering genuine help to those who need it. A lot of them have an ulterior motive, they have something to sell but that does not mean that the advice that they give is not useful. Would you buy from someone who gave you poor advice?

If they give advice that you can trust, perhaps you will trust them enough to purchase something from them at a later date. That is quite ethical.

Always remember: If something seems too good to be true, you can bet your boots that it is.

Most of the con artists are pretty obvious, but make sure that you keep your ears and eyes open at all times.

Enjoy your work and make a lot of money. You can do it if you try.

All the best in your endevours.

Bob.

The Psychology of Urgency: Make Them Want It Now!

The Psychology of Urgency: Make Them Want It Now!

by: Scott Moldenhauer

ขI’ll think it over and get back to you.ข ขSure, we’ll do that someday.ข ขI need to check with my colleagues.ข ขGive me a call next month, then we can set a date.ข

Tired of excuses? Looking for a more successful way to get others to take immediate action?

For the last century, psychologists have been studying simple persuasion tactics that will allow you to motivate people and get the results you desire. This article focuses on using the psychology of persuasion to create a sense of urgency in your customers.

The Psychology of Limited Resources

The first strategy for getting people to take immediate action is to present yourself or your product as ขlimited,ข ขscarce,ข or ขin demand.ข

Why? People want what they can’t have. Repeatedly, psychologists have shown that human beings find more value in things that they have a hard time obtaining.

If you tell people that they can’t have something, they end up wanting it more! You may have experienced this in your own life. Have you ever found yourself interested in a home or a car and then discovered that someone else may try to buy it first? If you’re anything like me, the item becomes even more valuable to you. You are more motivated to get it.

Do You Want It? You Can’t Have It!

This is an important point for sales and marketing purposes. Car salespeople are quick to let us know that, ขThis is the last model of its kind available on the entire lot—after it goes, that’s it.ข Newspaper and television ads constantly remind us that the ขsale ends soon,ข that ขsupplies are limitedข and that ขtime is running out.ข

Some retail stores create motivation by putting ขsoldข tags on merchandise that they have a hard time selling. When customers see the ขsoldข tag, they become more interested in buying the item.

Infomercials place a ticking clock at the end of the advertisements. They say, ขOrder before the clock runs out and you will also receive a free set of knives.ข

Getting Immediate Results

When I first started speaking and consulting, it was hard for me to get business. I made the error of telling potential customers that I would be available whenever they were ready to hire me. Big mistake.

It wasn’t until I became so busy that I had to start turning customers away that I was able to charge what I am worth. When they felt as if they couldn’t have me, they wanted me more. When I was inaccessible, they became anxious and assigned more value to my service. This sense of urgency has had a huge impact on my business.

Here are three steps that you can use to create a sense of urgency in others:

1. Set a deadline. People are natural procrastinators. Without a deadline—and the potential risk of losing something—people will wait until they collect more information, talk it over with their spouses, or save more money. By setting a deadline, you create an inner drive helps them take action.

2. Remind them that your offer is ขlimited.ข Always present your opportunity as being limited with regards to time or quantity. If someone asks you whether you have a certain product in stock, don’t say, ขOh, yeah, we have tons of them.ข The better approach is to say, ขYeah, we have some, but they go fast.ข

3. Play hard to get. Remember, people want what they can’t have. By sounding too available, you’re diminishing your value. By sounding somewhat unavailable, you’re greatly increasing your value. Never say, ขOh, yes, I’m available any day next week.ข Instead, use the more powerful and persuasive approach by saying, ขHmmm, I’m very busy next week, but I might be able to squeeze you in.ข

10 Tips to =SPEED= up your PC

10 Tips to =SPEED= up your PC

by: Rohit Tokhi

1.Let your PC boot up completely before opening any applications.
2.Refresh the desktop after closing any application. This will remove any unused files from the RAM.
3.Do not set very large file size images as your wallpaper. Do not keep a wallpaper at all if your PC is low on RAM (less than 64 MB).
4.Do not clutter your Desktop with a lot of shortcuts. Each shortcut on the desktop uses up to 500 bytes of RAM
5.Empty the recycle bin regularly. The files are not really deleted from your hard drive until you empty the recycle bin.
6.Delete the temporary internet files regularly.
7.Defragment your hard drive once every two months. This will free up a lot of space on your hard drive and rearrange the files so that your applications run faster.
8.Always make two partitions in your hard drive. Install all large Softwares (like PSP, Photoshop, 3DS Max etc) in the second partition. Windows uses all the available empty space in C drive as virtual memory when your Computer RAM is full. Keep the C Drive as empty as possible.
9.When installing new Softwares disable the option of having a tray icon. The tray icons use up available RAM, and also slow down the booting of your PC. Also disable the option of starting the application automatically when the PC boots. You can disable these options later on also from the Tools or preferences menu in your application.
10. Protect your PC from dust. Dust causes the CPU cooling fan to jam and slow down thereby gradually heating your CPU and affecting the processing speed. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the CPU. Never use vacuum.
RAM IS THE WORKING AREA (DESKTOP) OF THE CPU, KEEP IT AS EMPTY AND UNCLUTTERED AS POSSIBLE!

The กNot So Secretก Secrets of Success

The กNot So Secretก Secrets of Success

by: Terri Seymour

Have you ever heard of the กsecrets of successก? Many times people are trying to sell you these กsecretsก for a very high price! Well, in my five years of Internet marketing experience, I haven’t learned any กsecretsก.

These socalled กsecretsก are mostly common sense and hard work. We all know these กsecretsก. We just have to apply them and use them consistently.

กSecretก #1 People

Dealing with people can be hard, but we all know we must be courteous and professional. You need to accept the fact that you cannot please everybody. When you come across one of these people you cannot please no matter what you do, just deal with them firmly, but courteously and professionally. Not a กsecretก!

MOE Motto Treat people as you would like to be treated!

กSecretก #2 Passion

We all know that we need to like we do in order to be really successful at it. If you are interested in pets do not start a business dealing with cars! 😉 Building an online business will take a lot of passion to get through the frustration, obstacles, and other difficulties. There will be many times when we will need our passion to get us through! Not a กsecretก!

กSecretก #3 Customer Service

Another กsecretก is to treat the customer with respect and courtesy. It will not be easy to deal with difficult customers this way, but it can be done. I have worn down some of the nastiest customers by a continuing campaign of courtesy, politeness and professionalism!

Each time I dealt with this one lady, she was less and less rude and upset and more relaxed and easy to deal with. Eventually, she was thanking me and praising me for being so helpful and nice. Don’t be condescending and don’t let yourself get upset. Remain calm, yet be firm and respectful. Not a กsecretก!

กSecret #4 Promotion

To build a business, people must know that you and your business exist. Advertising, promotion and networking are how this is done. Set up a promotion schedule and stick with it. Be consistent. This may get tedious at times, but it must be done!

Write and submit articles, publish an ezine, get listed all over the web, do link exchanges, swap ezine ads, compile a fr~e ebook for viral marketing, subscribe to announcement lists, visit message boards, get involved in discussion groups……..there are hundreds of ways of promoting yourself and your online business! Not a กsecretก!

กSecretก #5 Hard Work

Despite what many people have said, it is not easy to กget rich overnightก and กmaking thousands a week, while doing nothingก just doesn’t happen. To be successful you will need to work and work hard. This is where passion for your work comes in! Not a กsecretก!

กSecretก #6 Commitment

Expanding on the hard work กsecretก, you will need to make a commitment to success. You must be willing to make sacrifices and work long hours. This will not happen overnight….it could take years. Are you prepared for years of frustration, hard work, ups and downs, dealing with people (good and bad), rejections, and everything else that comes along with building a business? Not a กsecretก!

กSecretก #7 Pride

Take pride in your work. Your work and your business will be a reflection of you. Build your reputation for a solid foundation of success. Be true to yourself and your business. Not a กsecretก!

กSecretก #8 Goals

Be aware of what you want and how you want to get it. Do not go blindly into business without some planning of your goals and accomplishments. Use short term smaller goals to eventually reach your long term ultimate goal of success. Not a กsecretก!

So we know in order to start and build a business, we must plan our goals, be prepared for the work and commitment of building that business, and that we must build a reputation of trust and professionalism.

I know we all knew that. It just helps to be reminded once in awhile! 😉

Learn How To Safely Backup Your Hard Drive

Learn How To Safely Backup Your Hard Drive

by: Otis F Cooper

We all know that we should back up our system as soon as possible. But if you’re like most of us,you will get to it tomorrow. The problem is that tomorrow rarely ever comes until you experience a serious computer failure and then its too lake.

Taking the time to backup your data or entire hard drive is not as painstaking as it may seem. And the rewards of doing so will be great should your system experience a crash.

WINDOWS AND OTHER BACKUP SOFTWARE

If you have Windows XP you willl need to install the new Windows backup ultility from the Windows XP cdrom.Just place the WinXP cdrom in your cdrom drive and locate the line D:\VALEADD\MSFT
TBACKUP.

Here you see the first letter as D but if your optical drive have a different drive letter, exchange the D with your driveกs letter. To install the utility, click on the file named NTBackup.msi.

The backup utility will be installed to the system tools group. Click Start,All Programs,Accessories,System Tools, and Backup. There is a neat wizard that will walk you through the backup process.

WinXPกs backup utility will backup your entire hard drive and will make a recovery disk to boot.

One neat third party backup software you can try is NewTech InfoSystems at http://www.ntius.com where you can download their trial version and put it to use for 30 days. And if its your cup of tea,the full version will run you about $79.95

INCREMENTAL OR DIFFERENTIAL BACKUPS

You should back up your entire hard drive when you perform your first backup. After that it is best to perform an Incremental backup. This type of backup only allow you to backup files that have changed since your last performed backup.

Differential Backups copy changed files and files that have been added since you last did your entire backup. This type of backup is more detailed than incremental backups and is easier to restore.

BACKUP STORAGE DEVICES

You can backup your files on cdroms and have the files compressed to save both space and backup time.WinXP will compress folders, subfolders, and files during backup.

You can purchase compression software that will do the same saving you cdrom storage space. The compressed files are automatically uncompressed once they are restored unto your hard drive.

You can also use a second hard drive as your backup storage device. We use two backup hard drives to be certain Ultimate PC Repair is up and running 24/7.

You can either purchase an internal hard drive in install it to your ide cable or you may want to purchase an external hard drive that connects to your Universal Serial Bus or USB Port.

The advantage of the external drives is that they have very large amount of storage space, transfer data fast, and can be moved from your computer to any other computer.

We use the Western Digital 170 Gigabyte External Hard Drive and we simply bounce it around to either one of our four computers with the greatest of ease.

USING ONLINE BACKUP SERVICES

You may also consider online services for backing up your data.If you lose all your backup data, say due it a natural dissaster such as a flood, your online data is right there waiting for you.

Another advantage of online backups is that you can access, upload,or download your data from any location. It is best to use high speed internet access if you’re considering online data storage.

One such online backup service is Istorage located at http://www.iomega.com/istorage and charges from $2.49 a month for 50MBs to $17.95 a month for a big 1,000MBs of storage.

Or you can check out FilesAnywhere located at the url http://www.filesanywhere.com

Still another online service to try is CapSure located at http://www.capsure.com

Backup your system now in one way or another if you have not done so.If you have critical data that you simply cannot due without, take the time to invest in a backup device or one of the many online backup services.

Stop and perform those backups as soon as possible. You will be thankful you did should something go wrong with your computer. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

Hard Disk Wiping and the Secure Removal of Data

Hard Disk Wiping and the Secure Removal of Data

by: Lee Sykes

It is important for businesses to recycle their computers, but have you thought about what happens to the data on your computer when it is collected?

How sensitive is the data stored on your hard disk?

If you are donating equipment to a recycler, you need to ensure that their data removal procedures operate to a high standard.

A recycler needs to honour the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, in summary:

To treat all data obtained from a donation as confidential

To use appropriate methods to securely destroy all data

Notify the donor as soon as possible if any unauthorised use or disclosure of the data is made

How Do You Securely Remove Data?

If a hard disk is formatted, this is not a secure way to wipe data!

This method has inherent limitations, as only the file allocation tables and the pointers to the data (that render the data inaccessible) are destroyed. The data on the remainder of the drive is not destroyed, and the inaccessible data is easily retrievable. There are many free programs available on the internet to recover data from a formatted drive.

Best Practice:

A Recycler should use a piece of software which will:

run from a bootable floppy

report the actual hard disk capacity (the same reading as the BIOS and label on the HD)

overwrite a single character pattern to the entire HD

produce a report that all areas have been overwritten

report any bad or unusable sectors that cannot be overwritten

verify successful erasure

The key point here is that the hard disk is actually overwritten with new data – ie. 10101010

This ensures that your old data cannot be retrieved.

The Security Levels:

In order for a disk to be wiped to High Security Standards, such as Military Of Defense standard, the hard disk is overwritten several times, for instance:

Perform 3 overwrite cycles to all areas (where each cycle will be a single pattern, followed by its complement), and a final overwrite with a random character pattern (ie. A total of 7 overwrites) – verification of successful erasure should then be carried out for all Hard Disks.

How Do You Erase Data From A Hard Disk That No Longer Works?

The simplest way to ensure this is to destroy the Hard Disk. Recyclers have many different methods for this, but an example is to drill a hole through the disk, just off centre.

Summary

Before you allow your computer equipment to be collected, ensure you check the recyclers’ procedures for the secure removal of data from your hard disks. Most recyclers will also provide some form of report after the collection to guarantee the data from your hard disks was securely removed.

Good Websites Stand Out From The Masses Of Boring,

Good Websites Stand Out From The Masses Of Boring, Hard To Travel,..

by: M6.net

Good websites stand out from the masses of boring, hard to travel, and overly commercial sites that now rule our Cyberspace. Interactivity and integrity are necessary for a site to become a hub of activity.
Websites, there’s literally billions of them out there in cyberspace. How many of them do you go to and just think this is boring, bland, or hard to use? It seems like too many to mention. So what makes a good website? I reckon it’s about interaction. You’ve got to make the visitor interested. You’ve got to grab their attention. Many sites use plenty of bright and shiny gimmicks to attract you, but once you make it through to the content of the site it’s just not worthy. A good site uses easy navigation, relevant content, and interactive media like comments and message boards. If you’re fortunate, whoever builds your site may even have a few tricks up their sleeves to make it really fun with sound, video, and other interactive fun stuff.
Do you want people to come to your site and then tell their friend and family about it? Do you want to have huge amounts of visitors? Do you want to succeed in making your dreams come to fruition on the Web? Make your website exciting! It might be easier said than done, but there are people around whose job it is to construct and design sites for a living. If you can afford it, go for the best. How great is it when you come across a site that has some special feature that you’ve never seen elsewhere? Isn’t it great when you find a site that relates to one of your interests that is simple and easy to get to the information you want? If you want to have people to come back again and again, you’ve got to keep updating the content to keep it fresh and interesting. Have a way for people to communicate with yourself and others who are into the same things. E.G. Forums, message boards and comments. The aim is to catch the ‘viewer’s’ interest.
A lot of sites just look like giant advertisements and you have to search for the needle in the haystack to find out what the actual site is for. I know advertising is a way of making money, but if you want your site to have an authentic, respectable atmosphere that exudes a feeling of integrity, you better be careful. People are becoming wary of this consumer driven, mindless attack at the average civilian’s wallet. Some people will automatically leave a site if a bunch of commercials popup on the screen. Popups, don’t even make me go there…
So, the aim of the game is to make a site that offers the public to be part of the action as well as being a source of knowledge or information that is in demand. A simple to navigate, good ‘feel’, and if possibleinnovative site is the means to becoming the popular Internet magnate you’ve always dreamed of becoming. Another important fact is the idea of ‘you’. Your website is a chance to put your identity out there in the world. Be yourself. If you try to appeal to an audience in a way that doesn’t reflect your true self, you’re destined to fail. Be honest and speak from your real perspective on life. Give it to us from the heart.

Is DVD Storage An Attractive Alternative For Your

Is DVD Storage An Attractive Alternative For Your Computer Backup?

by: Per Strandberg

If you have a computer for home use or for your business and don’t take comprehensive backup for full protection then you are in the dangerzone. Maybe you do not take any backup at all.

You can find in Windows a basic backup utility which are installed during the installation.

I should say for all Windows…,but in fact it is not included during the installation of Windows XP Home Edition.

It is as if Microsoft thinks that data protection is not necessary for home computers and computers used by small businesses.

It is true that hard drives are becoming less prone to hard disk crashes.

But, if you consider not only hard disk crashes, but also virus infection, theft plus other treats, then you realize the importance of implementing a fullproof backup strategy for your computer.

Today many computers are equipped with a DVD burner, yet most do not use it to manage their vital data backup. The amount of data you can store on a single DVD is several Giga Byte.

There are many types of backup you can make.

Here are the steps that I take myself to fully secure my data against data loss:

1. Disk image backup.

I use a disk image backup software and make a complete image backup of the disk on consecutive DVDs.

I also create an emergency rescue CD.

If I have a hard disk crash I’ll use this emergency CD to boot from.

But, first I have to install and setup a new hard disk that is working.

Then I can recreate the data directly back from this backup stored on the DVDs.

This work is made fast and without the need to spend time installing both the operation system and the backup software.

Everything is instead copied directly into the hard disk from the DVD’s.

2. Full hard disk backup.

I also use a data backup software and create a full backup of the hard disk on consecutive DVD’s.

This is a standard disk backup. With this backup Iกm able to restore any files and/or folders.

I can also move the data to another computer.

3. Regular scheduled backup of files and folder.

Here I use the same software product I use for the full disk backup. I make with this software regular schedule backups of the files and folders I work with.

In my case they include My Documents, Outlook emails and other files that are modified over time.

I do this by keeping a permanent rewritable DVD inside the DVD burner.

I then rotate a number of DVD’s for this purpose so I can keep copies away from the computer.

Whenever I install important new programs from the Internet or I make other major changes to my system I’ll also create a new disk image backup and a full hard disk backup.

You should use a DVD burner that is built for rewritable DVDs.

Unfortunately there are several competing DVD standards on the market.

The DVDR, DVDR and DVDRAM standards supports DVDs which only can be written to once and can’t be reused and those standards should be avoided.

The DVD player should instead support at least one rewritable DVDs standard.

Either DVDRW or DVD+RW.

Conclusion:

I use regular schedule backup to backup the data files I work with on a daily basis.

I’ll make a disk image backup so that in case of a hard disk failure I will be back in business fast.

I also create a full disk backup so that I will be able to restore individual files or folders. It makes it also possible to move the data to another computer.

Competing with the Big Names

Competing with the Big Names

by: Derek Croote

If you have ever been in an industry with long established, big name companies then you know it is hard to beat them in the search engine rankings. So you go to their pages to see how they are ranking so high, but they are not using the techniques you were told to use. Furthermore, they only have the word you searched for displayed once in their body text, not in their title tag, heading or meta tags. This can’t be right! However, it is. The only possible way to compete with the big names is with links, frequently updated content and name recognition.

The long established sites have received so many links over the years they don’t have to plaster their pages with certain keywords for high rankings.

Links can be hard to come by, especially if your site is new. There are countless ways to get them, but here are a few that will get you high quality links:

Writing articles

Reciprocal linking to relevant sites

Participating in forums

Frequently updating content

Creating free tools

Submitting to directories

Buying text links

Frequently updated content will generate a large number of oneway links, if people know about it. For people to find your compelling content, you have to get your site name out there. If no one knows about your content, how will you get links? To get you name out there you have to:

Become the leader in your industry

Write press releases, articles and free ebooks

Use paid advertising

Start a newsletter/ezine and a blog.

Target the right keywords

Beating the leading names may be difficult, but it is achievable. Gaining links and getting your name out there will be key in competing with these powerful sites. You will get to the top of the rankings in the search engines with time and hard work.

Drive Solutions Inc, Expands Data Recovery Service

Drive Solutions Inc, Expands Data Recovery Service

by: Woody Bowers

For over 11 years Drive Solutions, Inc. has been selling hard to find early model hard drives as well as new drives to large corporations, small business, and individuals alike.

During this time Drive Solutions has performed Data Recovery Services for many fortune 500 companies and Government agencies.

Drive Solutions Inc has expanded their Data Recovery Services to the public at a very economical price.

Drive Solutions, Inc. Specializes in recovery of Notebook and PC hard drives as well as other forms of storage media such as Digital camera memory cards, USB jump drives, CD, DVD, and more.

In previous years Data Recovery was far too expensive for an individual to afford. As time and technology have moved forward the cost of the data recovery service has decreased dramatically making it an affordable service for everyone.

Years ago you could expect to pay upwards of $3000.00 for the recovery of your vital data. Today the successful recovery of your data can run under $400.00 making this service very affordable for end users.

I spoke with the Director of Business Development at Drive Solutions, Bruce Masterson, who said ขThese days we see a lot of our business coming from home computer users that have stored all of their pictures of family, vacations, and all kinds of personal files on their hard drive and nowhere else.ข

We all hear about how important backing up your files is however, not many people think about their hard drive crashing especially at home.

Nowadays more and more people store their music files, family photos, contacts, etc… on their home computers. These files usually aren’t worth $3000.00 to the user however, since prices have dropped for data recovery services more and more end users are utilizing the service. ขDigital cameras and mobile storage devices such as the Apple IPOD have created a real demand for an affordable data recovery serviceข.

ขThose portable devices take a beating. People don’t realize that if their portable device has a hard drive in it the hard drive has moving parts and these parts can become damaged from shock.ข Masterson stated.

The Folks I spoke with at Drive Solutions, Inc. told me that all hard drives will fail eventually and to always keep my data backed up and to keep my backup files in a different location.

After my tour of their 10,000sq ft facility in Chatsworth, Ca, I realized just how many drives they work on every day. That’s a lot of hard drives failing around the globe.

When they say to back up your files before trouble strikes Listen and do it before you have to use a data recovery service. ขWe’ll be here when you need us but, take action now and avoid our service all together.ข That’s the last bit of advice I got from Bruce before I left their lab.

Three Things You Can Do to Keep Your Computer Running at Maximum Performance

by: Larry Andrew

Although there are many things that can affect the performance of your computer, there are a few simply things you can do each month to help keep your computer running at maximum performance. This article will focus on two problems that impact the performance of your computer and will then explain what you can do about it.

Problem #1: Computer Hard Disk Files

Your computer is always writing information to your hard disk, no matter what you do. Your computer attempts to keep all file information in the same location on your hard drive. As you add and delete files, blank spaces are left between your files. As you add new programs or files, your computer tries to use these blank spaces.

Over time, this reading and writing of files can affect the way your computer performs. The files eventually become scattered in multiple locations on your hard disk rather than in the same location.

Your computer will still find the information. However, the more scattered the information becomes on your hard drive, the more accesses your computer has to make to find (and gather) the information. This requires your hard disk to work harder and do more reading/writing than is necessary. It will slow down your computer by as much as 200% and causes increased wear and tear on your hard drive.

Problem #2: Spyware

If you use the Internet, at some point you will download a file or software program onto your computer. Sometimes you will know something is being downloaded to your computer. Other times you will have no idea. (Although this article will not talk about small files called ขcookiesข, you may want to look up information on this subject. Cookies are written onto your computer from the Internet.)

Free computer programs (often referred to as Freeware) are a big hit on the Internet. Every day thousands of users download these ขfree programsข. Although there are some great freeware programs, these programs often have advertisements or tracking code associated with their use. The term ขSpywareข refers to programs that gather information about your computer and (Internet) surfing habits without your knowledge. This information is then sold to a third party company as a means of generating revenue.

The problem with Spyware is that it also impacts the performance of your computer. It can make your computer very sluggish and unresponsive.

Three Steps to Improved Computer Performance

Now that we’ve discussed two problems that affect the performance of your computer, let’s discuss three things you can do to get your computer performance back to normal. You should do these three steps in the order presented. Ideally, you should repeat them about once a month or whenever you notice a change in your computer’s performance.

Step #1: Delete Spyware

The first thing you should do is to delete spyware files or programs from your computer. To do this, you can use a free software program such as AdAware SE Personal Edition from LavaSoft. To get the program, go to www.download.com and search for ขAdAware SEข (without the quotes). Select ขDownload Nowข and follow the installation instructions. Once the program is installed, you can scan your computer for spyware files. Then, you can select and delete them from your computer.

Note #1: Always be sure to use the ขCheck for updates nowข option to keep your program current.

Note #2: You need to be aware that when you delete spyware files, some of those ขfreeข programs you downloaded may not continue to work correctly. If you have a program you’ve downloaded and want to continue to use, check very carefully what you select to delete from the ขScanning resultsข once the scan has been completed.

Step #2: Clean up your Hard Disk

Once the spyware is removed, you need to clean up temporary and unwanted files from your hard disk. To do this on your windows PC, select the start option in the lower left hand corner of your computer screen. Then, select the program option. Under the program option, select ขAccessoriesข. Under the ขAccessoriesข option, select ขSystem Toolsข. From the System Tools option, select ขDisk Cleanupข.

Select the drive you want to clean from the pulldown menu and select OK. Usually, this is Drive C. If you have more than one hard drive, select one at a time. This program will then scan your computer for files that could be erased from your computer. You can safely erase all temporary and Recycle Bin files. You can also check the box of any other files you want the program to erase.

Step #3: Defrag your Hard Disk

Once all the spyware and temporary files are removed, you need to defrag your hard disk. This process simply rewrites your computer files so they are no longer scattered all over your hard disk, but are written in the same location for quick sequential access.

To defrag your hard disk on your windows PC, select the start option in the lower left hand corner of your computer screen. Then, select the program option. Under the program option, select ขAccessoriesข. Under the ขAccessoriesข option, select ขSystem Toolsข. From the System Tools option, select ขDisk Defragmenterข. First, select the hard drive from your computer. Usually, this is Drive C. However, many computers have multiple hard drives. Select one at a time.

You can select ขAnalyzeข to have the program check out the hard drive and see if it needs to be defragged. The program will prompt you at the completion of its analysis. Use the defragment option as prompted.

Note: If you’ve never used this option before, I would recommend that you select the defragment option.

Once, you’ve completed these three steps, your computer and hard disk should be able to operate at maximum performance. Don’t forget to repeat these steps at least once a month or whenever you notice a change in your computer’s performance.

Home Business Reality Is A Hard Pill To Swallow

Home Business Reality Is A Hard Pill To Swallow

by: Mal Keenan

Over the years I have been online one of the most common emails I get from downline members and prospects in general goes something like this:

กHi Mal

Whatกs happening? I have been working my ass off this past week and a half and things just aint happening. Iกve bought some leads and sent out two articles but not one sale. Iกll give this a go for another week or two and if I don’t see results Iกll have to move on.ก

Have you received any like this? Maybe youกve written one similar in your early days;)?

It saddens me that people come into a business opportunity with the idea that they are going to attain instant profits….not only because of the explaining I have to do to prospects, but because I know the frustration they are going to inflict upon themselves unless they change the mindset with which they have entered this business.

The most I, or anyone like me can do for those of you who ARE finding it difficult to find success is show you a bit of direction and share our own experiences.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES….and in my experience NO SECRETS.

This may be a hard pill to swallow but it is the truth.

My expereince of running an online business from home is that it takes time and hard work and YES a lot of frustration, upsets and setbacks along the way. If you surmount the obstcales along the way you will have proven yourself ready to attain success and you WILL get a breakthrough.

It is vitally important that you formulate a plan and budget your money accordingly. You must be prepared to go for at least a few months without making a profit. If you do get into profit with a month or two then this will be a bonus, but be prepared for the long haul.

Another big gripe I hear is that people are spending a fortune on product after product and leaving themselves penniless. This is another main reason for their ultimate failure. Why would you do this to yourself? You MUST discipline yourself, set a monthly or weekly budget and DO NOT go over it.

If you enter the online business arena keeping in mind the points outlined above, I promise that you will have a realistic chance of succeeding. I and others are certainly on hand to answer your questions and affording you the support to facilitate YOUR success.
