How To Turn Leads Into Sales With Autoresponders

How To Turn Leads Into Sales With Autoresponders

by: Chad Cook

It is an established fact that autoresponders can boost sales. Customers tend to buy, and buy more, from people they are familiar with. But as the web is a faceless arena, how do you create familiarity then? The answer is an autoresponders. After a customer has answered to your advert or notice on the web, you can create a situation of familiarity automatically with auto responders to convert that initial response to a sale. After all that’s what businesses exist to do.

The safest technique is to follow up the initial enquiry or interest with enticing messages. Customers usually need more information or confidence to buy.

In this regards, you will have to put your autoresponders to work.

This is how it goes:

You set up autorespnders to send three presell messages to the prospective customer who has expressed interest in your product. In the initial followup letter, you don’t need to say much else the interest will wane right away. Customers rarely tolerate hard sales approach.

Rather be brief and emphasize the importance, uniqueness or cost effectiveness of your product or service. Remember that, this letter is supposed to encourage the reader to buy without going much into service or product specifications.

On the second day, the autoresponders will have to send a second letter. This one should be explanatory and particularly – particularly – mention why the customer needs to buy and the benefits he will derive from such a purchase. Make sure you have stated the price, quantity, terms of shipping, taxes and after sales support in clear, common English language. Avoid technical jargons which may need a lot of interpretations. You want your clients to buy quickly and not refer to encyclopedias before understanding terms you have used.

The third letter from the autoresponders can be sent about a week or later from the date the second one was sent. In this letter, you suggest to the reader that perhaps he was unable to respond due to busy schedule, meetings, etc. The purpose of tgis letter is to rekindle his interest or remind him of your offer. Now, do not repeat the same things you said in your previous letter. Rather take a different perspective to present your product or service.

If the third letter from the autoresponders fails to yield any response, then stretch the timing of the next letter to a month. If the reader sees your letter regularly and one day decides to purchase the product, you will be the first he turns to as he would have by now accumulated a lot of info about the product to make a decision. Perhaps more importantly, you would have created the familiarity needed by people to build trust and confidence.

It may have to be understood that not all autoresponders can accomplish the task we have enumerated above. The functions we have alluded to in the article can best be handled by a professional auto responder such as the ones found at http://www.aceresponse.com/ These are high grade autoresponders with excellent facilities for designing the letters, setting the timing and even performing other auto pilot duties.

So that is how autoresponders can do the job of a salesman for you – all at the click of a mouse. You don’t need extensive knowledge to be able to put this sales generating method into practice. Neither do you need to know about html. You simple knowledge about websites and email is all you need to get the power out of this tool.

How Web Masters Can Start a Home Based Business Us

How Web Masters Can Start a Home Based Business Using Credit Cards

by: Claire Bowes

If you’re a webmaster who has been itching to start a home based business and you are experiencing some cash flow problems and are considering leaving your dreams by the wayside, don’t. Credit cards may be your answer. Now before you start feeling guilty about using your credit cards for some much needed cash flow and before you antagonize over this issue because of ขdebtข, let me assure you that credit cards ( http://www.thecreditcardcentre.co.uk/bestcreditcards.html ) may be your key to success when you use them wisely.

This isn’t to say that you should go out and run up your cards up to the limit simply because they are there. Instead, we’re saying that credit cards are not all bad, credit card companies aren’t the devil and if you use your cards smartly then they can help jump start your fledging business’ finances or get you out of a cash crunch. However, the key is to learn how to use credit cards to your advantage and not your disadvantage. With this in mind, we have provided you with the top five tips that will help you use your credit cards wisely:

First and foremost, you should realize that carrying cards have some advantages. Here are some major ones that you should be aware of:

Credit allows you to buy needed supplies instantly instead of waiting until later;

You can spread out the cost of expensive equipment like software and computers;

You can learn to cleverly float cards and get months of interest free loans if you choose the right card and use it correctly;

When you use cards, your purchases are insured;

Credit cards allow you to keep track of miscellaneous purchases and expenses;

You can earn points and other rewards simply for using the card;

Credit cards help you budget your money. You get a single limit and once that is exceeded then you will be declined so you’ll be encouraged to keep track of how much limit you have.

Second, you have to find a card that has a great rate and/or the best benefits for you. For instance, if you will pay off the balance every month but travel a lot then you might want to consider a card with a higher interest rate that gives more frequent flier miles since you will not be affected by the interest rate when you can’t pay off the credit card balance every month. On the other hand, if you can’t pay your balance every month, you should consider the card with a lower interest rate.

Once you’ve found an appropriate card, you should make a commitment to pay your balance responsibly. That is, you should only charge the amount that you can realistically pay in a month or so and make a point not to rack up a ton of credit card debt.

You should really try and avoid using your credit card to get cash advances. This is because most companies charge cash advance fees which could hurt you. However, an exception to this would be if you have an emergency and need to handle a cash crunch then you should use the least amount possible.

Review your statements as soon as you get them to evaluate interest rates. Make sure that you don’t see any errors and if you do then report them right away.

In conclusion, you shouldn’t feel guilty about using your credit cards to help you start or finance your fledging web business. Instead, you should use the abovementioned tips and use your cards responsibly so that they continue to be a blessing when you need them!

16 Golden Rules of Master Copywriting

16 Golden Rules of Master Copywriting

by: Christos Varsamis

You could spend thousands of dollars on advertisement and have extremely low or no results in sales because of your poor planed copy. You shouldn’t be amazed by the fact that huge corporations all over the world do that mistake and waste millions of dollars on false advertisement campaigns.

However, how can you write good sales copy, killer ads that get the attention of people? There are no magic recipes for that, but you can follow some fundamental rules, which can lead to you to success if you adapt them properly.

1) Have a good product. Be honest and mean what you say or what you offer. Avoid the exaggerations and hyped claims. You stake your reputation and your business offline or online it doesn’t make any difference.

2) Have a plan on your trial and error period. Don’t expect to write your first copy and be a golden one. You will alter it many times, test it, retest it try a new one and so on. Set a schedule for that. Do not fool around.

3) AIDA. It’s the proven and the bedrock of the copy process. Always follow it. AIDA

A= Attention. You must grab it instantly or you don’t have a chance.

I = Interest. You grab and keep their interest. If they get bored, they will leave.

D= Desire. Interest must be transformed into desire for what you offer.

A= Action. You must convince them to act now. Not tomorrow, next week e.t.c. They will forget it few hours later.

4) Always work on your prospects emotion. Most of the people buy something emotionally and then justify it rationally.

5) Headline is the Key. If it doesn’t grab their attention then they‘ve gone away. Your headline must be a killer one.

6) Promote your best and strong benefit at first, not last. That’s how you are going to create interest and then desire.

7) Tell stories. That’s an excellent way to rekindle their emotion or even their passion. Stories always inspire.

8) Answer all the objections and questions you think your prospects could have. In that way you will gain their trust.

9) Use bullet points for each of your benefits and bold, italics fonts for your text. Use the underline feature but not so often.

10) Give time limit. This is an excellent tool for calling your prospects to act now!

11) Offer testimonials. It is the mother of gaining trust tools. Especially, if it is from someone important in your field.

12) Make them easy to buy. Don’t let them get lost in your web site. Make it as easy as possible.

13) Avoid graphics. They won’t help you. People are looking for information not images.

14) Give guarantees. Research has proved that when you have a long guarantee your client feels safer and that leads to fewer refunds too!

15) Never assume that your prospects know what you want to say. Always be specific and clear about your product or service.

16) Have your copy or ad checked by your friends, colleagues e.t.c. It’s better to have other views, after all it’s a part of the testing process.

Here are some great headlines and emotional triggers.

A Bang On The Head, A Kangaroo And An Entrepreneur

A Bang On The Head, A Kangaroo And An Entrepreneur, What Happened Next?

by: Jason Lewis

If you are always on the look out for a money spinner, sometimes youกll find them pop up in the most unlikely of places.

A Herd Of 45,000 Website Visitors That Didn’t Cost Anything…

In September 2003 an amazing turn of events led to a massive flood of media coverage, which in turn sent a stampeding herd of free visitors to a brand new website.

Leonard Richard is a 52 year old farmer living down under in Victoria, Australia. He was out and about on his farm not too far from his house, when a branch fell and hit him hard on his head.

Leonard estimates that he must of been out cold for at least half an hour and was in a really bad way.

As luck would have it, Leonardกs pet kangaroo called Lulu, discovered him and helped to raise the alarm. I didn’t realize this myself, but kangarooกs can make a kind of barking noise. The persistent and somewhat out of character barks from Lulu eventually managed to alert Leonardกs family in his house nearby.

Itกs uncertain but Leonard thinks that Lulu may have also turned him on his side to keep his airway clear, although Iกm not sure whether I believe that bit. Leonard was airlifted by helicopter to the nearest hospital.

Lulu was credited with saving Leonardกs life. The news of Lulu the กlife savingก kangaroo soon spread. The RSPCA decided to give Lulu a very rare bravery award which resulted in a lot of media interest.

A Quick Thinking Entrepreneur…

On the other side of Australia, a quick thinking entrepreneur and website designer by the name of John (sorry thatกs all I could get), got in touch with the Richardกs family and offered to set up a website for them free of charge.

They would then be able to share their story across the globe. The website didn’t go live until April this year, just before the RSPCA officially announced the award. This was when the media frenzy whipped up a real pace and the website was literally flooded with visitors. So many, that they had to shut the site down and upgrade the servers. You can view the site here:

http://www.luluthekangaroo.com.au/

An Opportunity To Bring In Some Cash

If you look at the site, theyกve managed to take advantage of all this traffic by adding a few money spinners on the site.

Theyกve got a small banner for GoDaddy website hosting, and they also adapted it to feature a picture of Lulu as part of the banner animation (nice touch).

They’re selling Tshirts with a picture of Lulu on them promoting world peace.

They have put together an ebook detailing all the events up to and after the accident.

Finally, they have converted the ebook to a mini disk as well.

As another nice touch they are also donating a percentage of the profits to charity.

They seem to have made a fair attempt at trying to make some money from what could have otherwise been a family tragedy. Good luck to them I say!

Keep Your Eyeกs Open For Potential Money Spinners

This sort of opportunity is nearly always going to be a shortterm money spinner. Obviously, most people are not going to stumble on a life saving kangaroo like this one.

However, as an entrepreneur it may pay you to keep your eye out for any unusual events, acts of bravery, etc. Basically anything that has the potential for a lot of media interest.

Most people like the Richardกs family would never even consider building their own website after a situation like this. You can get a domain name and some hosting for about $20. If you know how to build a basic looking website, the only additional cost will be your time.

As this story showed, having a website really helped to give this tale of bravery worldwide recognition. If you type กlulu the kangarooก into a search engine you will find loads of news sites linking to Luluกs website. I very much doubt there would have been as much interest if the news websites didn’t have Luluกs website to refer and link to.

Joint Venture Possibilities

If you have your own niche product already, you could go looking for human interest stories that relate to your product. Alternatively you could team up with a joint venture partner that does have a related product.

Hereกs An Exaple…

Letกs say that a story breaks in your area about a woman that has given birth to 7 children all at once. With IVF treatment this could happen. This sort of thing is usually very popular in the media.

You could approach the woman and offer to build a website for her. With all those children she is bound to get a lot of media coverage, and she might be interested in trying to make a bit of money from all the media interest. At the end of the day, all those hungry mouths will need to be fed somehow.

You could propose a 50/50 split on any profits from displaying a few ads and links to baby related products on the site.

Summary

This is not the sort of thing that you would be able to give up your day job to pursue, but it could provide you with a nice little cash boost.

Easy Steps To Start Your Online Business

Easy Steps To Start Your Online Business

by: Craig Cawthorne

Start with a plan

Anyone who has ever started and managed a successful business, internet or otherwise, knows that it requires research and planning. Your business should not be a get rich quick scheme that is thrown together haphazardly.

Take time to explore what it is you want to accomplish. If you expect to be successful then plan your work and work your plan. Doing it any other way will lead to costly mistakes that could be fatal to your hopes of ever creating a solid online business.

Determine your interest

The first step in building your online business is to find an area where you have a great interest or passion in. Hereกs how you can accomplish this:

Take time to brainstorm the best website concepts that will work for you. It is much easier to build a successful online business if you love what you are doing.

If you can’t find your passion, create one. Find something that grabs your interest and plunge into it until it becomes your passion.

If all else fails, go for the money. Research what is popular and sells. Find out what people want and sell it to them. You will greatly enhance your chances of success by doing so. There are a number of places where you can go to determine what sells. Just do some surfing. You will soon find something to catch your fancy.

Determine your target audience

Once you have determined your interest, determine your audience. Your audience will affect the design and content of your web site. Ask yourself these questions:

Who is it that I expect to visit my website?

How will they find my web site?

What is their age, gender, education, computer experience, etc.?

What does my audience want; ebooks, article, ezines etc.?

What do I want them to do after they reach my site; request information, sign up for something or, order something?

What inticements will convince them to stay and revisit my web site?

Answering questions like these will be a critical step in the development of your online business. They will help you to focus on what important steps you must take to promote your business. In the end they will help you to increase your web site revenue, maximize your marketing spending, improve you web page customer conversions, increase your brand awaremess and reinforce your customer loyalty.

Conclusion

Remember that an effective online business starts with a clear set of objectives. Before launching an ebusiness be sure to explore and evaluate both your business and personal goals. It may take some time to thoroughly think through these business building concepts but once done, you will be able to use the information you have accrued, to build a comprehensive and thoughtful business plan that will help you reach your goal of making money online.

5 Reasons Why Headlines Are Crucial To Your Websit

5 Reasons Why Headlines Are Crucial To Your Website’s Success

by: Robert Boduch

Without a powerful headline, your message stands little chance of being noticed in an increasingly competitive marketplace. If your headline doesn’t capture attention and pull prospects into your sales copy, than your marketing effort is a total waste of energy and resources.

Nothing is more important to getting your message noticed than your headlines. If you’re not allocating a sizable percentage of your time and creative effort to the headline used on each page of your website, you could be losing out on a large chunk of business.

Top copywriters understand this concept well. They know how essential it is to capture attention by literally stopping preoccupied prospects in their tracks.

Here are five good reasons why your site headlines deserve greater emphasis and attention:

1) Headlines Are Natural Attention Getters. The majority of online prospects are quick scanners. No one reads the body copy of a page without first reading and being pulled in by the headline. Headlines are the first thing your visitors see. They jump out visually and command attention. Headlines are leads set distinctly above the rest of the text. Often the typeface, size, and style used for headlines contrasts with that uses in the body copy. It’s a proven approach that naturally attracts eyeballs, virtually forcing interested prospects to grasp the message of the headline and to read on.

According to advertising legend David Ogilvy, 5 times more people read headlines than body copy. Although Ogilvy was talking about print advertising in general, the observation is certainly applicable to websites as well.

With 5 times the readership, headlines have the power and capability to make any message many times more successful.

2) Site Headlines Serve As Valuable Guides To The Busy Surfer. Headlines reveal key details. They tip off readers as to what follows. They provide clear signals to help readers decide whether they should stick around for the full message, or dash off to something else – something better suited to their own special needs and interests.

As a quick summary of the entire piece, headlines either attract continued interest and readership, or they repel it. Without a headline, the reader is forced to wade through a portion of the text to understand the meaning. Forcing readers to do this is to risk losing them altogether. It’s sales suicide. In effect, having no headline will cost you at least 80% of your potential audience.

3) Headlines Prepare The Reader For What Is To Come. Headlines stimulate interest. They captivate, arouse curiosity and stimulate the desire for more. It’s the headline that starts the reader’s motor running. A good headline sets up a feeling of expectation as the reader anticipates discovering more and can’t wait to get it!

Successful headlines address specific audiences. They open prospects minds to new possibilities and expand their level of enthusiasm and interest. The best headlines involve prospects, virtually guaranteeing their sustained attention for the time being.

4) Headlines Simplify The Learning Curve. Every headline serves to introduce whatever follows. As an opening or leadin, the role of the headline is to succinctly communicate the essence of the message it precedes in a n interesting and compelling way.

Effective headlines and subheadings reveal key bits of information often with the added power of emotion. A review of the various headings alone can often provide one with the gist of a given message. This makes it faster and easier to understand, remember, and review.

Use your headings to generate emotional involvement and you increase the chances prospects will go back and read more of your copy. When you make it easier to read and comprehend your messages, you increase the chances of making the sale.

5) Headlines Allow You To Deliver Your Biggest Bang Right UpFront. Capture attention and interest at the outset, by using your most appealing selling point. If your strongest, most desirable product attribute (benefit) fails to pull prospects in, surely nothing else you could ever say would do the trick, either.

The stronger and more compelling your headline, the more readers are likely to read on and spend more time at your website. Create every headline to grab attention and inspire interest. The more alluring and irresistible you can make it, the more genuine prospects you’ll attract and ultimately, the more sales you’ll record. Headlines are powerful marketing tools when used effectively. Take a good look at your site headline. Could you add more intrigue, curiosity, or interest?

Test different headlines by trying various appeals and offer combinations. Keep an eye out for additional headline opportunities throughout your sales letters, as well as on other pages on your site. Make your headlines impossible to miss and difficult to ignore… then, watch your results soar!

Focus! Focus! Focus!

Focus! Focus! Focus!

by: Peter Simmons

The success of your online business relies on you making sales, actually selling your product or service to paying customers. The more the better. To get those sales you need to communicate well with your potential customers and make a good sales pitch. What you say and how you say it are therefore very important and can make the difference between your business succeeding or failing.

When you sell your products and services online, you communicate largely through text. What you say in that text directly influences the customerกs decision to either buy or not buy your product, in the same way that a realworld sales conversation would. Your potential customer wants to hear interesting and important information that will help them make that decision. That decision begins from the moment they arrive at your website.

Lets imagine you are looking to buy a particular product. You learn that the product is available on two different websites. You visit each site and read their text.

This is what Site A says to you in effect:

let us tell you about us,

hereกs some very basic product details we feel we should give you,

hereกs an inadequate photo of the product we had lying around,

this is why we are in business and why we think we are great,

yeah we know weกve made it difficult for you to use our site. We didn’t want to make the effort to find out what our customers want,

this is where we are located (usually accompanied by a picture of their building).

Site B says:

yes we sell the product you are looking for. here it is…,

let us tell you all about it,

hereกs some good reasons why you should buy it immediately,

hereกs some good reasons why you should buy from us (and not our competitors),

Its easy for you to buy from us. Just do this…,

Let us know if we can serve you better or answer any questions you may have.

Which one is going to get the sale? Obviously Site B will get the sale. Why? Because they clearly show they understand their customers. They:

Focus on their customers!

Focus on their needs!

Focus on their priorities!

They provide information that is useful to you in making your buying decision. They are focused on you the customer, not themselves. Their text is all about กyouก. They work hard to ensure all this and demonstrate it on their website. They make it very easy to interact with them and that also gives you the impression they will be very easy to deal with too.

Site A, on the otherhand, may indeed have some useful information on their webpage but its not there in quantity and for your benefit. It can of course be useful to know where a company is located. But, if they are going on about it or its the first thing you see on arrival, its more likely there to propup their over inflated ego and demonstrate how successful they think they are. Their focus is directed entirely on themselves. You are not their number 1 priority, they are! Don’t they realise that customers can read between the lines and spot this easily?

In addition to focusing on their customers, thereกs also something else that Site B does very well. Its not as easy to spot but has a dramatic effect on their sales. Its the way they deliver their information. They know its vital to keep your attention and interest. If they lose it for a second they may lose it forever.

Theyกve noticed that other sites write paragraphs of text that grab your interest in one sentence and lose it in the next, because the information provided is not relevant or important to you at that point. It should either be removed or replaced. So they have made a conscious effort to hold your interest at all times throughout a paragraph or piece of text. Their paragraphs say exactly what you want to know and in the order you want to know it. They hold your interest throughout with useful and valuable information. They don’t tolerate any irrelevant or unimportant information whatsoever.

This is the ideal situation for your company to be in. To have customers who are keen to listen to what you have to say and trust what you say. They know you are focused on them, their needs and their priorities. They are far more likely to listen to your recommendations and make purchases based on them. You will build stronger, equally beneficial and more rewarding relationships with them. Those relationships will be hard to break by your competitors, especially if you keep that focus and continuously improve your offers, products and service.

Questions to ask?

Are you focused on your customers?

Are you providing the right information at the right times?

Do you keep their attention and interest at all times?

Do you distract them at anytime?

Are you getting maximum sales from your website?

Action to take on your website:

Concentrate on selling more products.

Concentrate on selling them well.

Remove any distracting, confusing or irelevant text.

Try to keep the readers interest continuously.

Remember: Focus on your customers! Focus on their needs! Focus on their priorities!

Good luck!

Count Down To An Advert

Count Down To An Advert

by: Robert J Farey

There are hundreds of books available to teach you how to write a good sales letter/advert. If you were to read them all it would be possible to distil all of the recommendations into a กWhat to do listก similar to the one below. This list is not exhaustive. No two people would set it out in exactly the same way. It would be quite possible to extend the list a great deal further. This is my version. It works for me. It could work for you.
COUNTDOWN TO AN ADVERT
The headline must grab the readers attention. Make a promise or offer a benefit.
Expand the headline in the lead paragraph.
Don’t waffle. You must hold the readers interest.
Make sure that any information that you give is useful.
Make sure your product is of interest to this particular audience.
Stress all of the benefits, As many as possible.
Curiosity creates interest.
Solve your readerกs problems.
Talk to the reader as a person.
If you make a promise, make sure you keep it.
Decide what you want your readers to do next and ask them to do it. Make it easy for them.
Ask for an action, กclick here, buy nowก etc.
For more information, กDo this. Do that. Go to.ก
Make it easy to sign up. In the copy and at the end of the copy.
Offer a freebie for signing up. (Make sure that it is relevant and of high perceived value.)
Ensure that any links in the copy are working properly.
If you are using an autoresponder, give them a way of contacting you. Your email address at least, your phone number will give people confidence.
If you feel that I have left out something of importance, let me know. I would prefer that you email me but my phone number is there if you should need it.

Review on the Book กPhotoshop for RightBrainers:

Review on the Book กPhotoshop for RightBrainers: The Art of Photo Manipulationก by Al Ward

by: Paul Hood

Al Wardกs book offers the reader an innovative and custom made guide in manipulating photos suited to your taste. I find this interesting as it gives me a free hand in learning techniques without confining me to a rigid set of rules. Much room is left for personal discovery. I prefer this as I do not like being confined to just a particular limitation in learning.

The book is a tutorial that explores the endless capabilities of Photoshop and explains how one can make use of this to its fullest potential. A good point to mention here is that the book was designed not just to teach you how to do it but it also let you develop your skills without compromising creativity. The reader is made aware of the basics and picks up from there encouraging you to create styles that are your very own. There will be times when you’ll lose interest in discovering new things and this will be your fountain of youth.

I say that this approach is very good considering the fact that learning becomes more enjoyable as it provides the reader a good motivation to improve. Understanding the features of the software yields to a better creative expression that is very much original.

Manuals like this have always been of great interest for me as it not only gives instruction, it also provides a good motivating force for me to improve myself further. I’ve always had this affinity for instructions that does not spoonfeed rather it pushes you to do more and find ways to develop your craft. Learning can be tiring if the method of teaching is very rigid. This won’t allow your creative juices to flow. I can compare this to sand being held by a hand, hold it too tight or too loose and it will slip. Hold it just right and it will stay.

Marketing Objectives for Your Web Site

Marketing Objectives for Your Web Site

by: Bobette Kyle

Do you have marketing objectives for your Web site? With objectives to help overcome your main online challenges you can work smarter, not harder.

Think of your Web site objective as the กbig pictureก. It is the basis for a marketing plan and, in general terms, answers the questions:

กHow can I use the site to overcome my businessกs main Internet related challenge?ก and/or กWhat is the purpose of my site?ก When setting marketing objectives, keep your siteกs business model and customersก decisionmaking stages in mind.

Business Models

The business model defines how your Web site fits into your business how it will help your company grow. Direct revenue is a popular Web site business model, but it is not the only one. Some business models include:

Direct Revenue / eCommerce

Some of the most known Web site objectives relate to ecommerce or other types of direct revenue from the site. That is, the objective is to establish a direct source of revenue from orders or advertising space.

Build Brand Image

A longterm marketing objective for your site could be to improve sales by building an image for your product, brand, and/or company. Increasingly, this is an explicit goal for large companies with ample budgets.

Smallbudget companies can follow suit on a more affordable scale by building an image during the natural course of marketing. You can do this by consistently presenting similar design elements and กpersonalityก at each point of contact with the world whether that contact be virtual or physical.

Enhance Customer Service

Your site can increase revenue indirectly by improving customer service. When customers are more satisfied, they tend to spread the word about your products as well as buy more often themselves.

Customers often do product research on a Web site then later place orders via catalogue, telephone, sales representatives, a physical retail store, mail, and/or fax. In all of these cases, a Web site indirectly contributes to building the business.

Lower Operating Costs

A Web site can help your business by lowering costs. Automated customer service functions Webbased FAQ, order status reports, product specifications, etc. can lower the number of customer service calls, reducing customer service labor costs.

A Web presence can also lower operating costs by streamlining communication with your business partners. Businesstobusiness companies can create secure Web space to communicate and collaborate with customers.

It is even possible to have individual, private sites for major clients. A central กmeeting placeก that archives communications and other customerspecific information can cut down on administrative costs related to กphone tagก, inquiries, and/or the need to consciously keep all players กin the loopก.

On the supply side, you could reduce costly business disruptions by giving key vendors Webbased access to your inventory or other realtime information.

Customer Stages: Awareness, Interest, Trial, and Repeat

When setting your marketing objectives, it may help to think in terms of awareness, interest, trial, and repeat. These concepts are often used in marketing to explain the stages a new customer (or site visitor, in this case) goes through on the path to becoming loyal to your business.

The potential visitor must first become aware of your site. Once aware, you must spark an interest with the potential visitor, motivating her/him to trial, or respond to a call to action on your site. After (s)he visits your site, that person becomes loyal by revisiting in the future.

You may be able to most effectively build your business by focusing on one or two of awareness, interest, trial, or repeat visits, then changing your focus over time. If your site is brand new or known to very few people, for example, your plan is likely to concentrate on ways to increase awareness and interest.

A focus on interest and trial may be in order, however, if you get an aboveaverage number of กwindow shoppersก visitors who never purchase (or do not respond to some other call to action).

Additionally, if you sell multiple products or a product that needs replenishing from your site, focus on repeat purchases may be more effective.

Setting Your Marketing Objectives

While there are different approaches to setting objectives, my preference is to develop a single objective for a site that may encompass more than one approach to business building.

In the marketing plan, I include separate strategies and tactics to address each approach suggested in the site objective. I also like to note in the objective both the customer stage(s) and business model(s) I will focus on in the marketing plan. This makes it easier to decide upon the most effective marketing strategies.

Another approach is to address the customer stages separately, in a summary or writeup. With either approach, you should view your marketing plan as evolving over time. As the business environment and situations change, your focus should change as well.

Once you get past the launch stage of a new site, for example, you are in a better position to evaluate site traffic, so your plan may shift from focusing on awareness and interest to building trial and loyalty. Similarly, a better understanding of site visitors may lead you to adjust your business model to more closely address your companyกs and Web customersก needs.

16 Golden Rules Of Master Copywriting

16 Golden Rules Of Master Copywriting

by: Christos Varsamis

You could spend thousands of dollars on advertisement and have extremely low or no results in sales because of your poorplanned copy. You shouldn’t be amazed by the fact that huge corporations all over the world do that mistake and waste millions of dollars on false advertisement campaigns.

However, how can you write a good sales copy and killer ads that get the attention of people? There are no magic recipes for that, but you can follow some fundamental rules, which can lead to you to success if you adopt them properly.

You will alter it many times, test it, retest it, try a new one and so on. Set a schedule for that. Do not fool around.

3) AIDA. It’s the proven and the bedrock of the copy process. Always follow it. AIDA

A= Attention. You must grab it instantly or you don’t have a chance.

I= Interest. You grab and keep their interest. If they get bored, they will leave.

D= Desire. Interest must be transformed into desire for what you offer.

A= Action. You must convince them to act now. Not tomorrow, next week e.t.c. They will forget it a few hours later.

4) Always work on your prospectกs emotion. Most people buy something emotionally and then justify it rationally.

8) Answer all the objections and questions you think your prospects would have. In that way, you will gain their trust.

9) Use bullet points for each of your benefits and bold, italics fonts for your text. Use the underline feature but not so often.

10) Give time limit. This is an excellent tool for calling your prospects to act now!

11) Offer testimonials. It is the mother of gainingtrust tools. Especially, if it is from someone important in your field.

12) Make them easy to buy. Don’t let them get lost in your web site. Make it as easy as possible.

13) Avoid graphics. They won’t help you. People are looking for information not images.

14) Give guarantees. Research has proved that when you have a long guarantee, your client will feel safer and that leads to fewer refunds too!

15) Never assume that your prospects know what you want to say. Always be specific and clear about your product or service.

16) Have your copy or ad checked by your friends, colleagues e.t.c. It’s better to have other views, after all, it’s a part of the testing process.

Here are some great headlines and emotional triggers.

Guide to Internet Business Concept and Opportuni

Guide to Internet Business Concept and Opportunities

by: Steven O. Ng

When deciding what kind of internet business you want to do, there are a few factors you need to look at before plunging into building your website.

a) TYPE OF BUSINESS

The first thing you need to consider is exactly what kind of business you want to build. There are generally two types of internet businesses out there: a fullfledged online store selling a product or service, or an informational website earning income from affiliate commissions and advertisements.

i) You might want to consider setting up an online store if you fall under one of the following categories:

You have a product that you are already selling offline, and want to use the internet to increase your market.

You provide a service (such as consulting or web design) and want to use the internet to sell your services and increase your clientele.

You do not have a product or service, but want to start an online store by partnering with a product manufacturer or wholesaler.

ii) On the other hand, you might want to set up an informational website and earn from affiliate commissions and advertisements. This is possible if you fall under one of the following:

You want to create a website about something that you really like or are interested in.

You want to promote an affiliate program or product that you like and want to tell the world about.

You want to provide information or compile advice from various sources regarding something that you are good at.

b) INTEREST

Another very important factor is your interest in the topic or industry in which you want to do your internet business. It is not advisable to start an internet business relating to a lucrative industry such as online casinos, but you have no interest whatsoever in casinos, and worse if you have moral issues with the running of casinos.

I just want you to be aware of some of the common pitfalls you might encounter if you get involved in something that you are not quite interested in:

If you have not much interest in a topic or industry, it will show in the content and quality of your website. It takes someone with considerable interest to perform good research on the topic, and to create a website full of relevant and personal information and content.

Without continued interest, you will slowly start to find excuses not to work on your website. And internet business is a continuous love affair. It requires constant updates and internet marketing effort to enjoy good success. If youกve lost interest and start to ignore the business, your profits will also start to decline.

In short, internet business (like any other business) requires genuine effort and interest in order to succeed. And it is a lifelong love affair, not a one night stand!

c) INCOME OPPORTUNITY

However, interest isn’t everything. The income potential is important too. After all, itกs no use laboring over something you love with no profits to show for it. But the good thing is that internet businesses are so cheap to start that it doesn’t take much to make a profit!

i) If you want to setup an online store, don’t just look at how big the market is. You also have to look at how much competition you face in your chosen industry. For example, an online bookstore will have a huge market (almost everyone reads), but there are plenty of competitors out there such as Amazon.com with a bigger wallet and are more established. In cases like these, you will have to consider allocating a larger budget for advertising and attracting customers.

On the other hand, if you want to start a online store selling waterproof cameras for diving, the market might not be all that big (probably just diving enthusiasts), but because there are few competitors, it will be easier for your store to stand out. As they say: กIt might not be a big pie, but youกll get the lionกs share of itก.

ii) If you want to create an informational website, you have to keep your competition in mind as well. In addition, you need to make sure that your selected topic has sufficient income potential such as affiliate programs and advertisements.

These affiliate programs and advertisements should be related to your website. For example, a wedding planning website can promote affiliate programs related to photography and event management, but should not promote an escort service! In addition, every website can earn some extra cash by placing advertisements (not too many) on their webpages. A good ad service is Googleกs AdSense program.

d) Commitment

The last factor I want to touch on is commitment to your internet business. There are two types of commitment you should be aware of: money and time.

By its very nature, internet businesses require very little money to start. However, profits don’t come immediately. Websites take time, sometimes as much as 6 months, to start ranking in the search engines and getting traffic. You therefore have to plan for that much time of operational losses (including your hosting costs). If you are in a highly competitive industry, you will also have to factor in your monthly advertising budget.

However, the most important commitment you have to make is your time. As they say: กIf you treat it like a business, it will pay you like a business; If you treat it like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby.ก

You need to know how much time you can allocate to the business. A simple informational website can be setup gradually on just one hour a day. However, setting up an online store will require almost fulltime effort in the beginning. Once your store is done, then your time commitment will drop.

When youกve decided what kind of internet business you are interested in, and how much resources to put into it, you can then look at the second step, researching the design and content of your website. You can check out the entire StepByStep Guide at http://www.onlinebizhelp.com/step_by_step.html
