The Lazy Manกs Way To Building a Massive List In M

The Lazy Manกs Way To Building a Massive List In Minimum Time

by: Dan Kelly

As you read every word of this article, youกll be stunned by how quickly and easily you can build a massive list of opt in subscribers without spending a fortune. (The idea is to make money, not spend money. Right?)

Iกll get right to the point…

It can be a real pain in the butt trying to build an optin list using the กold schoolก methods of list building that every Internet marketing guru out there is teaching these days.

They tell you… กUse pop ups and pop unders, delayed pops, and exit popsก, กPut a subscription box on every page of your websiteก, กUse PayPerClick (PPC) search engines to drive traffic to your optin pageก, etc. etc. etc.

Those methods are OK, in my opinion. If you’re using them now and they are effective for you, continue using them. If you’re not, Iกd suggest that you at least experiment with them to see if they work for your situation.

> THE BIG PROBLEM IS THIS…

The two biggest problems youกll face using the กold schoolก methods are… either it takes way too much of YOUR TIME or it costs way too much of YOUR MONEY to build a list of any respectable size.

(In the BizOp, MLM, and Internet marketing arenas, many potential joint venture partners won’t even talk to you unless your list has at least 50,000 100,000 subscribers.)

> WHATกS THE SOLUTION?

Very simple…

Instead of waiting for customers to come to you (which you have to do even with PPC search engines)…

You can BUY subscribers.

Thatกs right! There are companies out there that will sell you the names and email addresses of people that have REQUESTED information about business opportunities.

> WARNING: NOT ALL LEAD SOURCES ARE CREATED EQUAL

There are 8 things you want to look for from any lead/subscriber source.

Here they are:

100% OptIn: You want to buy the contact information of people that have actively requested more information. There are various methods of capturing contact information. Some leads sources sell you names that came from CDROM that has 12 million names on it. Some lead sources precheck the subscription box, so many of their leads didn’t know that they were going to be sent any information from you. You want to make sure that all the names you buy have explicitly requested the information that you are going to send them.

Targeted: You want Business Opportunity Seekers ONLY! What good is it if the names you buy really just wanted to be on someoneกs joke list or recipe newsletter? Iกll tell you… Absolutely NOTHING! Actually, less than nothing if you get a lot of SPAM complaints and your ISP bans you from sending emails or your email addresses ends up on blacklists all throughout the Internet.

Only กFreshก Leads: Plain and simple… The older the list, the less responsive it will be to your offer. As time goes by, people become less and less interested in what they requested information on. The more time between their initial request and your first contact, the easier it is for them to forget that they even requested information. My personal recommendation is that you never buy leads that are over 30 days old, unless you can get them at a steep discount.

Quick Turnaround: You don’t want to wait months for your leads source to fulfill your order. Many smaller sites aren’t able to keep up with the demand for leads so you could be waiting months if your order is large. You want a source that can fulfill large orders in a timely basis. Time really is money… especially when someone has yours, and you’re left waiting months for your list.

Accessible & Effective Support: You want to be able to ask a question any time, day or night, and get a fast, courteous, and most importantly, effective solution to your concern. With some companies, you send them an email and it takes them days to get back to you, if they reply at all. And, speaking bluntly, many of them use incompetent people for their support because they’re only after a quick buck. Their motto, กGrab the money and run… They should be able to figure it out.ก

CANSPAM Compliant: If you buy a list that has been harvested from websites, forums, newsgroups or any number of other places, you could get in serious trouble just for sending them your email. Itกs just not worth it! Please, only send your information and promotional material to people that want to hear from you.

Exclusivity: You don’t want to compete for your leads attention any more than you have to. Spam filter, blacklist, and unexplainable Internet กglitchesก cause email marketers enough grief. You want to know that your list is not going to be resold to a dozen or a hundred different marketers. My personal recommendation is that you NEVER purchase a lead that is sold to more than 5 marketers. The quality of response will be horrible if you’re competing with that many people for your prospectsก limited time and attention.

Alternate Means Of Communication: If you can get them, you also want their home address and home telephone number. If you’re really serious about promoting your opportunity, you should be communicating with your prospects with more than just email. Postcards and short phone calls/message have be proven to increase response to almost any offer especially offers where people are naturally skeptical at the outset.

BTW, some websites (I won’t name any names.) make it sound like they’re doing you a favor by กgiving you their name at no additional costก. Give me a break! Names are MANDITORY!

ACTION STEP: Now that you have the criteria, you should evaluate your current lead sources and check out a few new ones.

Stay In Touch With Leads And Get More Closes

Stay In Touch With Leads And Get More Closes

by: Joy Gendusa

How many leads have come into your business since the beginning of time that never closed? That is a salient question. Who knows how many, but I bet there are a lot.

Whether a small company or a large one with a sales force, the leads that are always best are the ones that are easy to close. But what about the prospects that were reached but never closed? They are in an abyss The Unclosed Sales Lead Abyss, technically speaking.

What are you doing to follow up? Are you following up? Do you have a fixed idea in mind about some time frame that those leads then become dead?

What does it cost you to get that lead? Let’s look at a hypothetical analysis:

• Postcard marketing experts will tell you to send out 5000 postcards.

• It costs you $2000.00 to send out those postcards.

• Say you do that and you get 50 calls

Top 5 Ways to Generate Qualified Leads for Your Sm

Top 5 Ways to Generate Qualified Leads for Your Small Business

by: Jeremy Cohen

Do you ever wonder if you could be doing a better job marketing your small business or professional service firm? Successfully marketing a small business is hard work. There are several key skills required to consistently develop new business that you, as a small business owner, must master in order to succeed.

The first skill you need to have is the ability to regularly generate qualified leads. You must consistently build your list of prospects if you are to grow your business. Your business will not grow if you market to the same, stagnant population over and over again. While there will be a certain percentage of people who choose to buy from you after repeated contact with your marketing material, the amount who buy will always be limited by the size of the list to which you market.

How often do you add to your list of qualified prospects?

Here are five steps you can take to improve your prospect building skills.

Focus On Client Needs

Whether you print a brochure, advertise in industry periodicals or use search engines to generate traffic to your web site the first thing your marketing materials must do is get noticed. One of the best ways to have your future clients notice you is to use words in your marketing materials that focus on their needs. By using such words your clients will immediately associate your ad with their problem or unmet need.

For example, if you are a patent attorney your ads will have a much better chance of being noticed and acted upon by those who need your service if you use the words, ขGet paid for your inventionข instead of ขPatent Attorneyข. Getting paid is what an inventor wants. You may be proud of your status as an attorney but your clients are interested in the results you provide that solve their problem.

Be sure you use words in your marketing material that focus on your clients’ needs. They will get noticed more often.

Eliminate Waste

Another step you can take to improve your ability to generate leads is to eliminate unproductive marketing methods. Marketing takes time, money and effort. If your tactics are not generating the results you want stop using them and try something new. Of course, in order to separate the good tactics from the bad you need to measure the effect of individual marketing efforts.

Perhaps you run the same ad in two different newspapers. If you don’t know that the ad in ขpaper number twoข is generating 95% of your prospects you will never know that it would be a smart move to reallocate the money you spend in ขpaper number oneข.

What steps can you take to measure the effect of individual marketing tactics?

Once you know which tactics are lead generators and which are not you can improve your ability to generate new leads simply by reallocating the resources from unproductive tactics to ones you know work.

Use Your Web Site Properly

Another way to maximize your ability to generate leads is to use your web site properly. The purpose of your web site is to generate leads. To maximize the number of leads your web site generates make sure your site has information your prospects want, is easy to navigate and maximizes the opportunity for your prospects to get in touch with you, either by calling you or by providing you with their contact information.

Clearly let your visitors know you’re there for them and they will be much more likely to reach out and get in touch, especially if your site’s content demonstrates that you understand and can solve their problems.

Cross Marketing

Cross marketing is the process of establishing marketing relationships with companies whose product or service complements what you sell. For example, a company that helps web site owners track the traffic to and through their site would do well to develop relationships with web hosting companies. There is a natural symbiosis here – anyone who has a new web site needs to (or should) measure their site’s traffic so they can make wellinformed decisions to guide the evolution of their site and any web hosting company wants their clients’ business to succeed so they can keep them as a customer. Companies don’t need web sites if they’re out of business. It therefore makes sense for web hosting companies to promote web statistics companies and vice versa as each can benefit from the other’s service.

What cross marketing tactics do you use to promote your business?

Ask Questions

Regardless of your favorite marketing mechanism the goal is the same: to generate interest in your products or services. Whether you use a web site, a brochure or newspaper ads to generate leads the first thing you must do is get your future prospects thinking about the problem that you solve and they have. A great method for invoking this type of thought is to use questions in your marketing materials.

If you are a dentist, questions like, ขDo you have tooth pain?ข or ขAre your teeth sensitive to heat or cold?ข will do a much better job of drawing in your prospects that marketing materials that say, ขDo you need a dentist?ข

What questions can you ask to get your prospects thinking about the problems that they have that you solve?

Move Your Marketing Forward

Take some time to examine your marketing efforts with respect to the notions outlined in this article. Is there room for you to improve your ability to generate leads? Most likely, there is.

How To Choose The Best MLM Leads

How To Choose The Best MLM Leads

by: Jeff Schuman

What are the characteristics of the Best Mlm Leads? This is a good question to ask before you spend any money buying leads to build your MLM business. Before we get to that letกs take a look at why you would want to buy MLM leads in the first place.

Over the years the multilevel marketing business has gotten a black eye because of the over hyped promises of money and freedom. Very few people have ever achieved a high level of success in any MLM business. And even fewer have ever been able to maintain the level of achievements over a period of time.

That does not make MLM companies bad. Nor does it make the opportunities they afford the average person as a way to make extra money or even as a way to drastically change your lifetsyle. It can be done and using MLM leads is a great way to do it.

There are 2 big benefits to buying MLM leads.

1. It gets you away from approaching your friends and relatives. If you have been in more than one MLM business over the years you may have already approached them and used up your credibility when you were unsuccessful.

2. This is a duplicatible way to build your business that you can pass on to your downline. Any successful network marketing business will tell you that one of the main components of success is duplication. Anyone can buy leads and work them over the phone or thur the internet with the use of an autoresponder.

If you are unsure of how to work a lead over the phone I would suggest getting the book ‘recruit Your Way To Millionsก by Fred Stegge. After reading this book you will be able to explain what you do and what you offer to a new prospect in 30 seconds or less. http://www.teamschuman.com/recruityourway

If you are unsure of what an autoresponder is or how to use one read this article I wrote กHow To Effectively Use An Autoresponder.ก This is an absolutely essential business tool if you are going to succeed online with your MLM business.

http://teamschuman.com/articles/article15.html

Now that you understand some of the benefits of buying MLM leads and how to market to them letกs take a look at what are the characteristics of the Best MLM Leads.

1. How many times are the leads sold? Many MLM lead companies sell their leads over and over. You will be contacting a prospect that has already been marketed to. Personally I like eads that are exclusive to me.

2. How old are the leads? Would you rather contact a prospect that has expressed an interest in the past 48 hours or in the past 48 days. Being able to strike while the iron is hot so to speak is a great benefit of a fresh lead.

3. How many leads do you get for your money? Obviously the more leads you can get for the best price the more leads you can buy at a time. This is especially important when you are first starting or when you are helping your downline get started.

4. What is the quality of the lead? Nothing compares to a lead that contains both a phone number and email address along with a few qualifying answers to questions like กHow much can you invest to get startedก or กHow soon do you want to get startedก or When is the best time to contact you?ก If a prospect is answering these type of questions you are getting a much better quality lead than if you just have a name and email address.

5. What is the response rate? This will improve as your skill level at working your leads improves, but the fresher higher quality leads will give you a better response rate even when your skill level is low.

6. Do your leads come with any extras such as an autoresponder, training on how to work leads, prewritten email marketing letters, phone scripts, your own website, flash presentations, etc.

These are the top qualities of the Best MLM Leads. Be careful when choosing a place to get your leads. Not all MLM Lead companies are created equal. It is going to be the single most important decision you make when trying to grow your MLM Business. Make the wrong choice and you will waste your time and money as well as the time and money of your downline. Make the right choice and you can be building your business successfully for years to come.

The List Is The Thing

The List Is The Thing

by: Ken Leonard Jr.

Many companies begin their online sales ventures with the wrong strategy to build long term success. Thinking that a website is the core of their business leads them to focus on getting website visitors.

Making the site กstickyก, by using a memberonly area or a community feature such as chat or a forum, may get some of your visitors to come back for more. Unfortunately, the large part of your viewers may not use these features, and being in a hurry, they are just a click away from another new and interesting website. Many of your กhitsก are just that, a quick click, and they’re gone forever.

The visitor that clicked away likely found your site by using a search engine. They were interested in the search term that was one of your siteกs keywords. That means that they may be your ‘target customerก.

Isn’t it a shame that you only had one chance to sell this visitor on your product or service? Don’t you wish that you could followup on that กleadก at a later time? With a better offer or a different related product?

You can.

The focus of your online sales business กhasก to be capturing lead information (email addresses) and building a database of prospects and previous customers. This กhouse listก enables you to keep in touch with your leads, building a relationship and your credibility over time. The website is an important part of the sales กmachineก, but is not the primary focus, building your house list is.

Many people might think that the value of a house list is determined by the number of leads it contains. This is true, to a point. Affecting the value even more is the quality of the leads, or subscribers. A small list that is highly targeted, with responsive leads, is more valuable than a large list that is not targeted.

Quality comes from the methods used to build the house list. You want leads to optin, or subscribe, to your list. These people are interested in your niche, or they wouldn’t have joined the list. Using emails from one of those ก One Million Email Addresses For $10ก CDs will get little or no response. You will also be labeled as a spammer. Buying subscribers from list brokers is another option, but you have to be certain that the leads optedin to the list. If not, they are practically worthless.

Build กyourก house list, do it properly using optin methods, and reap the rewards of a responsive and loyal group of contacts. Followup with your leads on a regular basis, and youกll have it made.

How To Generate Targeted Traffic…and Cash In On

How To Generate Targeted Traffic…and Cash In On It.

by: Scott Young

We all know that generating traffic to your site is creating a flow of visitors, but what is targeted traffic? Targeted traffic simply refers to visitors who are actually interested in the topic of your product or service. Targeted traffic will greatly out produce nontargeted traffic in terms of open rate, click through rate, and sales conversions rates.

Iกd rather have 10,000targeted leads than 1,000,000 nontargeted leads. Emailing a bunch of people who don’t care about what you have to offer is a waste of your time and theirs. This technique is now commonly referred to as Spamming. Spamming can get you in trouble and cause you to loose your ISP.

There is absolutely no excuse for Spamming these days. There are many other legit methods for marketing your products or services. Email marketing is still one of the most cost effective forms of advertising on the Internet, but it must be permission based or optin email marketing. Optin email marketing will produce much greater results than unsolicited email or Spam.

Building your own list is an intimidating task for many people, but it is very easy to do. Basically you must capture the email addresses of people who visit you site. This can be done by offering them a bonus and getting them to subscribe to your newsletter. The second step is to stay in contact with your list by providing them good information through a weekly newsletter or monthly bulletin. Make sure you provide your list with good, valuable content.

By building a list of subscribers, you will be building a targeted group of potential customers that you can use to offer your own products or affiliate products to. You can also use your list as leverage to participate in joint venture with other ezine owners and Webmasters. Your list is a powerful thing.

Another great way to build your list and actually make money at the same time is to sell your prospects information and then add them to your list. This list will be superior to your freebee list because it will be made up of customers who have already proven themselves to be buyers and are interested in the types of products that you are offering. You will also want to stay in contact with this list as you would any other one, by providing a newsletter or bulleting.

One very important thing here that I must note; in order to sell information as you build your list you must be able to generate the targeted leads to advertise to. I have found an excellent system for generating over 2,000 fresh leads a day. These are not just any old leads either; these are real people who are active Internet marketers. How do I know? They are in the process of posting ads when they agree to receive email from me. For the information that I sell, these are the most targeted leads that you could ever find.

This technique of producing targeted traffic in known as reverse marketing and it is very effective. I have a coordinated portfolio of FFA networks that produce these active leads for me every single day. The way that everything is setup allows me to easily and quickly collect my email leads everyday. I also have everything setup so that I earn a nice residual income from the same companies that help produce the leads.

You couldn’t ask for a sweeter combination here. Income and email leads that you actually need. There is one source that will teach you everything that I have mentioned here in much greater detail than I can get into here. This source will explain to you all the techniques and resources that are needed in order to for you to generate all the traffic you can handle and build income at the same time. If this sounds like what you are looking for then don’t waste anytime, get started now.

Lead Me On Learn About Internet Marketing Leads

Lead Me On Learn About Internet Marketing Leads

by: Mal Keenan

Every business is engaged in selling something, whether a product, service, information, or something else. And sales usually begin with sales leads. As an offline example, new insurance and car sales people are frequently asked to compile lists of their friends, families, acquaintances, and so on. This list is used then as a lead builder something to get the ball rolling towards that first big sale. The online world is no different. Every forprofit web site needs a steady flow of internet marketing leads. A big part of any online marketerกs job is to generate the leads that will ultimately be responsible for another sale. In particular, in the highly competitive online marketing arena, someone selling products and services to other marketers will need a steady flow of fresh internet marketing leads to fuel their sales.

Selling to internet marketers is a tough market segment to compete in. New products and services are released at an amazing rate. These new products and services are sometimes driven by new technology, other times by changes in market conditions or search engines, and still others are variations of existing products. Some of these products are themselves designed to help capture internet marketing leads!

There are several basic ways to capture new leads online. The most commonly recommended method is to build an email list. Thereกs an old direct marketing axiom ‘the money is in the listก, and this has held true on the internet as well. Email marketing may not work as well as it used to, due to spam filtering, but thatกs not to say itกs not effective. After all, other than your time, itกs free to send, and response rates for email that does reach the intended recipients have remained steady. The theory of this type of internet marketing leads generation is that an email list works as the first part of a funnel system, whereby subscribers get some incentive to sign up for the list. It may be a free product, program, or report, or some other incentive t will then กfunnelก responsive customers to your main products and services.

Other common lead generation techniques include using payperclick (PPC) advertising, adding information about a site, product, or service to an email signature file, and posting and answering questions on marketing related forums. Just think, for someone selling to other marketers, what better free way is there to generate internet marketing leads than posting in forums where other marketers กhang outก?

Whatever the lead generation techniques a marketer uses, the most important thing to remember about finding internet marketing leads is this: to be effective, they must be targeted. This means that the leads you generate must be generally interested in the product or service you offer. For an extreme example, it probably wouldn’t make sense to try to generate leads for a knitting product on a site that is footballrelated. The target audience of a football site isn’t generally going to be interested in knitting products.

As you begin to build your marketingrelated web business, be sure to plan a good internet marketing lead strategy from the outset. It shouldn’t be an afterthought that youกll take care of someday Give it a lot of consideration early on.

How Heavy Hitters Avoid Rejection Working MLM Lead

How Heavy Hitters Avoid Rejection Working MLM Leads

by: Ed Forteau

ขBut, these people are telling me NO and I don’t like the way that feels,ข he told me.

ขThe same rejection, real or imagined, that make some people $10,000 per month in this industry will cause others to abandon their dreams,ข I replied.

In the MLM industry, you see the heavy hitters who know how to work MLM leads flourish no matter if the industry is up, down or flat. Why? What do they know that the masses buying MLM leads don’t know? How are they able to quickly and easily get through enough leads and find the right people to give them a $10,000+ per month lifestyle?

There’s a quote I use in our seminars, ขThe fire that burns one person warms anotherข.

Heavy hitters know how to get warmed and not burned in working MLM leads.

First, a couple of facts.

FACT #1 – MLM lead quality has steadily gone down over the last 10 years.

FACT #2 – The quantity of leads has risen and well the as the number of MLM lead companies.

Fact #3 – MLM lead lists are sold over and over again. The people you call have heard their phone ring many times from these lists!

Being at the junction of these three facts is needlessly hurting tens of thousands of well intentioned MLMr’s.

Our survey of top MLM lead list buyers who make fulltime incomes has revealed three critical points.

Critical point #1 – A manual phone sort after an internet automated sort is no longer enough. You used to be able to ask someone 34 qualifying questions and determine who you should take through your information process. Not anymore. Now the numbers you need take through most systems are three to four times what they were just a few years ago.

Critical point #2 – Heavy hitters tell us rejection never feels like rejection if it’s from someone who truly can be successful in MLM. It the prospect is truly high quality, they’ll take a serious look at your opportunity in a businesslike fashion. That is a good feeling. This is opposite of the millions of tire kickers and wannabees filling out lead inquiry forms as you read this. These low quality prospects drain the life blood out of you. That kind of rejection is blood curdling.

Critical point #3 – Successful heavy hitters look at time management differently. They are using the 80/20 rule to their advantage. How? By getting in a position to only get rejected by capable prospects. Knowing low quality prospects can’t move their business forward, they continually seek ways to only talk to higher probable prospects.

Capable prospects who are also looking are the people you need to build a strong sixfigure income. Capable means they have the ability to build a business. They’ll have a bigger warm circle of influence, better people skills, ability to inspire and lead a group, stay on autoship longer, buy a sufficient number of MLM leads every month, and they’ll enter your opportunity at higher levels. Any MLM lead list contains about 23% of what we call these ขtop tierข prospects.

Looking means they’re ready to take action immediately after they’ve been through your information process. Frustration is talking to or sponsoring someone who is looking but NOT capable.

Here lies the big problem in the industry. MLM lead list brokers only tell you who’s looking. The process of optimizing MLM leads tells you who’s probable of being successful.

We’ve noticed heavy hitters have been the early adopters of MLM lead optimization.

Because they are time conscious and want to only be softly rejected by capable people, they’re only calling 2025% of their MLM lead lists. They’re focusing 80% of their time on capable and looking prospects.

The time they’re saving by not prospecting and working with the wrong prospects is spent with the family, traveling and enjoying their MLM lifestyle.

I think that you need a closer paragraph. Did you address who what where when why and how??

Marketing or Selling Which Is More Important?

Marketing or Selling Which Is More Important?

by: C.J. Hayden

A question I often get from clients and students goes something like this: กIกve been collecting marketing ideas… and I have a drawer full! I also have a stack of promising leads Iกve accumulated. And I know itกs important to stay visible, so I do a lot of networking, but then I just end up with more names in the stack. How do I prioritize all this?ก

If youกve ever wondered something similar, you may have lost sight of a very important truth the way to win the marketing game is not to collect the most leads; itกs to make the most sales. Marketing activities that increase your number of sales are good, and activities that don’t are bad, even if they bring in plenty of leads. If you don’t follow up on the leads you gather, you are throwing away your time and money.

The main purpose of marketing strategies like public speaking, writing articles, getting publicity, networking, promotional events, and advertising is to gain visibility. (A secondary purpose of the first three strategies can be to gain credibility.) Why do you want to be visible? Itกs not just so people will know who you are and what you do, itกs so they will do business with you.

If someone has already expressed interest in doing business, call them. Do it now. Memorize this rule following up on hot, or even warm, client leads is always more important than marketing for more visibility.

There is a simple diagnostic test you can take to see where you need to focus your marketing vs. selling efforts, which I call the Universal Marketing Cycle. Think of the marketing and sales process as a water system that begins by filling your pipeline with leads. The pipeline empties into your followup pool, which you are continually dipping into.

Your intent is to move the leads further along in the system, to making a presentation of some kind (by phone or in person), and finally closing the sale.

Where are you stuck in this system? Is it in filling the pipeline to begin with? Or is the pipeline full, but you haven’t been following up? Perhaps you have been following up, but don’t seem to be getting to the presentation stage. Or maybe you are making presentations but not closing sales. Wherever you seem to be stuck is the area that needs more effort.

When you have promising leads you aren’t contacting, the followup stage is clearly your stuck place. Take that stack of leads and sort them into three categories: prospective clients, useful networking contacts, and other. Now sort the prospective clients into hot, warm, and cold. Stop right there and follow up with all the hot and warm leads.

If, and I do mean if, you still need to do more work about marketing after following up with all those leads, go to the networking contacts and sort them into two groups: people who can lead you directly to prospective clients, and people who can lead you to other marketing opportunities, e.g. a new networking group or a speaking engagement. Stop, and you guessed it, follow up with the people who might have leads for you.

You should now have three groups left: cold client leads, people who can lead you to marketing opportunities, and other. Now is the time to decide whether you need to do something new to market yourself at all. Look at what you have been doing so far to get all those hot and warm leads you had. Maybe you just need to do more of the same.

If thatกs true, put those cold leads aside, because youกll have more hot and warm ones shortly. If you need to do something different to get better leads than what you had, go ahead and explore one of the new marketing possibilities in your second group, or one of the ideas stashed away in that drawer. And that กotherก group? Throw them away. They are just cluttering up your pipeline.

กDo Not Call Listก…Death Knell For Leads Program

กDo Not Call Listก…Death Knell For Leads Programs?

by: Michael Lemm

Iกd pay close attention to this for awhile. There are implications for leads programs especially.

In about 610 months or so your company is going to have to subscribe to the FTC กDo Not Callก (DNC) list of people that do not want calls. Even if it is an innocent prospecting call your company (& you) can get in trouble. The wife may have answered your ad, the husband may have put them on the DNC list. Bang….your company (& you) innocently gets burnt. The fines are pretty noteworthy so be careful.

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/donotcall/index.html

Hereกs my general thoughts on this issue:

1. The leads companies will have to be VERY careful. Anyone selling leads had better make sure that they are truly กwaiting to hear from youก….optin permissive marketing compliant….fresh….yada yada. Any slip shod harvesting of leads without thorough scrubbing of their viabilty will lead to big trouble. I see a lot of leads companies going under….or just plane being scams hoping to make a quick buck and leave customers holding the bag.

2. The number of companies offering leads will likely decrease due to the effort, cost, and risk involved to ensure the leads are compliant. What will be left could be just a few expensive high quality companies….and a few scams after the quick score.

3. Those leads companies that กsurviveก will pass the increased cost on to the consumer….you. Meaning the cost of leads will likely go up significantly….regardless of the source.

4. Those who purchase leads will also be vulnerable to some extent (how much Iกm not sure) since they are the individual กcontactingก the lead. I doubt regulators and agrieved กleadsก will not hold those who contact them faultless. Since กweก aren’t employees of the leads companies we would have some responsibility/accountability attached. Their argument would be that we กchoseก to contact these people. As opposed to an employee of a telemarketing firm who is ‘toldก to make the contact.

5. If leads companies can navigate this challenge successfully….the resulting leads will truly be กqualityก. They will definitely be interested in being contacting. So this could be a silver lining…or glass half full….situation. However, it could well be at a higher cost than we now see.

6. Now….if you read carefully on the FTC website, it mentions that there is a period time of which someone can still be contacted.

a. If they were a customer, you may contact them for up to 18 months after the last business transaction.

b. If they requested information (as the website says, submitted an inquiry) you can contact them for up to 3 months.

Lead companies will have to provide Date/Time stamps and IP stamps with every lead. Is this hard? No, they do it anyways, so it shouldn’t result in large cost increases.

Additionally, all company/personal “prospecting” websites will need to contain language similar to this: กBy submitting your information you agree to be contacted by phone, email, or regular mail with information regarding a home based business, secondary income source, or a work from home opportunity.ก This will bind the user to 3 months of being contacted.

All that doom and gloom aside….what we hopefully will see is a drastic reduction of junk lead companies or companies that generate leads not targeted for our industry. Those that navigate the impending changes with quality compliant optin systems will survive and prosper. Those that don’t…..m’bye bye.

8 Things I have Learned As An Internet Marketer

8 Things I have Learned As An Internet Marketer

by: Dirk Wagner

I started as an internet marketer, like I am sure a few of you have with various mlm programs. After little success with these types of programs I finally decided it was time I make my own website and get serious about marketing on the internet. Although I have not been doing this as long as some, there have been a few things that I have learned along the way that have helped me achieve much more success than my previous ventures in mlm. I would like to share with you 8 things I have learned since becoming an internet marketer.

1. Choosing The Right Program

Choosing the right program to affiliate with is still a relevant way of making money on the internet. I learned not believe all the hype surrounding every affiliate program on the net. Instead I look for affiliate programs that pay at least 30% commissions and are run by reputable internet marketers.

2. Choosing The Right Tools

I learned quickly that you need much more than just a website to become successful. Choosing the right tools to optimize your internet business is crucial if you hope to succeed. Tools like auto responders, professional emailboxes, and software that help with linking and submitting your site to search engines is very important information to have. However, some of these tools can be expensive, but the return on investment is priceless.

3. Targeted Traffic

Getting the right people to your website is something all internet marketers are constantly working to achieve. In this business you find a lot of tire kickers, these are the people that may download a free product or tour your site but they have no intentions of ever buying any of your products or services. Finding targeted traffic is what you need, people that our looking for a homebased business or a product or service you are selling.

4. Quality Leads

Quality leads are very important when talking about targeted traffic. there are plenty of companies that offer leads and subscription services, and I suggest trying a few different companies out, because you just do not know what type of leads you will get. One of the first companies I used to buy leads from provided me with leads from people all over the world, most of whom did not speak English, or they wanted me to either give them money or go out on a date! So I learned to ask around and investigate a few companies out before I invest in leads.

5. Publishing A Newsletter

Publishing my own newsletter is very important, probably more important than I first realized. With your own newsletter filled with relevant content that can help your prospects, you gain trust and credibility. Your prospects are more willing to buy your product or service if they feel as if they know you.

6. Reciprocal Linking

This was a powerful lesson to be learned. Search engines love reciprocal links when deciding your page rank and position in their search engine. This was an eye opener. With the right software I was able to make reciprocal linking work to my advantage, without having to manually do it myself. Reciprocal linking has helped me with my alexa ranking as well as in the search engines.

7. Finding JV Partners

Finding Joint Venture (JV) partners is also very important is building a successful online venture, in a sense reciprocal linking is a JV partnership in that you are hoping your link on someone else site will bring you visitors and viceaversa. However, there are also other JV partnerships available and are quite easy to find, if you know where to look ( see below). I have a few JV partners that I work with to mutually make our businesses profitable. It is the old adage of ขyou scratch my back, I scratch you backข where each partner brings something different to the table and combined they form a JV partnership.

8. Business Forums

I found reading and posting to business forums to be invaluable to the success of my business. These are great places to learn from people that have been doing business for a long time. I also told you about finding JV partners, well business forums is where to find people you would like to do business with. Most forums allow you to use a signature file that you can use as ขfreeข advertising for your business.

In closing, I would like to add that there are probably a hundred more lessons I have learned since starting my online business. I continue to learn something new everyday that only helps me in my goal of becoming a successful internet marketer. Good luck.
