SEO #3: Getting Listed In Google in Under 24Hours!

by: Ahmed Omran

Yesterday you should have read the second course out of 6 courses that will help you get a TOP rank in the search engines and get EXPLOSIVE LASER TARGETED TRAFFIC for Free. Today we move on to course #3 and reveal how to Get Listed In Google in Under 24Hours! Today is a short course but itกs one that you must have been waiting for. This information sells for $100+ elsewhere but its just info and Iกm willing to tell you for free. Now let’s get started.

Getting Listed In Google in Under 24Hours!

Getting listed in search engines will only happen if the search engine spider finds your website. There are many ways that this spider can find you site; one way is by submitting your website to the search engine to be crawled. This method is VERY BAD because the search engines will take months just to include your page. Thereกs a much faster way, the faster way is if the spider finds your website by following a link from another website.

If you can manage to convince a website that is in google to link to you then you will be indexed by the search engines in no time. But how do you get into google in 24 hours? Well the answer is simple. Google spiders index the top websites very often and if you can get one of those top websites to link to you then you will be indexed in less than a day. Google ranks websites by page rank, if you download their toolbar you can see that a small green bar appears and displays what rank a page is once you visit it. Websites that have a page rank (PR) of 7 get indexed very often and if your link is on their website then you can be sure to find your website in google the next day!

Your website doesn’t have to be on the homepage of these ‘topnotch websitesก you can even submit your link to their links directory and the spider will crawl those pages too. Just search google for a keyword that is related to your website and look at the first few website to see their PR, if you find a site with a PR of 6 or 7 that has a links directory then itกs your lucky day!

Now you know this little secret that some people sell for hundreds of dollars and you might be thinking กitกs so simple and pathetic! How can they sell this stuff?ก Well they write huge ebooks about the little secrets that not many know about and entice people to buy them by writing catchy sales letters. The simplicity of this explains why many people don’t know these secrets, they search for a BIG secret but frankly there is none. That’s it!

Tomorrow I will discuss Offpage Optimization and how it is the #1 factor in determining your position in search engines! This will be an exciting day for you I promise (Just like today)!

If you would like to contact me anytime and either complain (why would you!) or give me your testimonial then feel free to do so anytime. Iกm there if you need any more help also.

My Emails Are Not Being Delivered. Black Lists and

My Emails Are Not Being Delivered. Black Lists and White Lists Explained.

by: Karen Fegarty

Over 40% of all emails within your marketing campaign are not being delivered. You may not even be aware of this, as many ISPs will not send back a bounce message. In fact if you are sending messages to AOL customers, AOL is now blocking over 80% of the messages that come into their servers.

One of the main reasons that this is occurring is that your IP or Domain may be Black Listed. All major ISPกs and many corporate email systems now check against Black Lists and will refuse to deliver any emails that come from an IP that is Black Listed.

But what exactly is a Black List?

DNS black lists are lists of domains and IPกs that are known to originate Spam. Many antispam software programs used by corporations and ISPกs use these lists to control Spam by refusing any email that originates from one of these domains or IPs.

Unfortunately there are many instances of false positives as there are few checks and often little objectivity when listing a particular IP. In order for a black list to know that a domain is sending Spam, the offence must be reported . It may take only one report via a web form for you to be listed.

You may be listed maliciously through one complaint of a client, or that of a competitor. Many Black Lists, as well, will list not only the IP that is suspected as spamming, but will list any IPs in that range of addresses. If someone using the same Internet provider as you is accused of spamming and is placed on a Black List, you may be listed as well.

DNS blacklists are usually maintained by antispam organizations or by individuals.

What are some of the most popular Black Lists that ISPs are using?

Some of these include:

MAPS http://www.mailabuse.com/

Spam Cop http://www.spamcop.net/

SpamHaus http://www.spamhaus.org/

SPEWS.org http://www.spews.org/

ORDB.org Open Relay Database http://www.ordb.org/

How do I know if I am on a Black List?

Unfortunately, you really can’t be 100% sure if you have been black listed. You may be on someoneกs black list and not even know it. There are, however, ways to check most of the lists.

One way is to check your server log when sending your campaigns. You will often see an email bounce notice indicating that the message has bounced because you are on a particular black list.

Many of the major black lists also allow you to enter your IP into a form on their site. These checks will tell you whether you appear, or not, on their list.

A useful tool, is the Black List Monitor. http://www.blacklistmonitor.com It automatically checks your IP against most of the major Black Lists and tells you which ones you are listed on. It also gives you help in getting removed. All your IPs are constantly monitored for any changes, listings, or delistings.

But what is a White List and how can this help?

Many corporations and ISPs will create a white list. This is a list of trusted IP addresses that they feel confident will not send spam to their customers. If your IP is listed on a particular white list then your email messages will be delivered to the destination email address. It is important for reputable marketers to work with the major ISPกs such as AOL to ensure that you are on their white list. For most, it can be a lengthy process, but well worth your efforts.

Other thirdparty email certification programs now exist. Bonded sender www.bondedsender.com is one such agency. By joining Bonded Sender, senders improve deliverability rates and differentiate their brand. Senders go through a formal application process, adhere to email standards and post a bond against potential complaints. Major ISPs such as MSN/Hotmail now check against Bond Senderกs white list and allow these email to pass.

Knowing if you are on a black list, getting removed if you are and getting established on white lists is critical if you are email marketing. The more messages delivered equals more sales!

How To Use RSS Feeds In Your Marketing

How To Use RSS Feeds In Your Marketing

by: Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian

It was Friday night. I finished reading a book about RSS feeds. Quickly set up one for my site, submitted it on directories and went to bed.

Sunday morning, I noticed a sale. Idly, I scanned my logs to see where the buyer had found me.

It was from Yahoo! Now that may not seem surprising, except… I had not been listed in Yahoo! before.

Curious, I did a Yahoo! Search for my domain name… and almost fainted in shock! There were 123 of my pages listed many of them in the top 10 ranks on my best keywords.

My RSS feed had been listed within 48 hours and since my other pages were linked from it, they had all been indexed by Yahoo! just as quickly. And for free!

Since then I have heard many others share similar experiences. It is no fluke. RSS is HOT. And search engines LOVE it.

So what is RSS? An acronym for Really Simple Syndication, it is a web language format designed to help syndicate content across different sources.

RSS has been around for more than 10 years but has only recently become popular. RSS feeds provide headlines and summaries of information in a concise and standardized way.

The rise in RSS popularity, specially among marketers, has many reasons. Email filters and new legislation have lowered the effectiveness of email marketing. Content syndication in many different ways is gathering momentum. And fresh, frequently updated content is the very essence of the Web.

How can you use RSS feeds in your marketing? Is there a way to turn RSS feeds into profits?

Absolutely. Here are some ideas:

Beat email filters. Ask your subscribers, prospects and clients to sign up to your RSS feed along with your email newsletter. If the ezine gets blocked, theyกll still get your RSS feed.

Spread the word. Offer your new, valuable content to many other กlazyก website owners in return for getting extra exposure of your name and brand to their audiences.

Get listed on search engines. No one knows how long this กhoneymoonก will last. But ride the wave and get into search engines quickly, inexpensively by submitting your RSS feeds to them.

Use the firstmover advantage. Dedicated RSS directories are mushrooming. Make sure your RSS feed is indexed in them and you could futureproof your business. Imagine if you were one of the first sites to be indexed in Google or Yahoo 5 years ago!

Offer your readers new content. Keep creating your own content but also use RSS feed syndication to offer other peopleกs content to your list. Less pain, less strain, more gain.

And thatกs not all. On a bet, I sat down and listed 41 different ideas to profit from RSS feeds. Iกm sure you can do it too and turn the hot new revolution in online communication into a money magnet for your ebusiness.

Happy blogging.

Is Your Website Ready For Local Search Engine Traf

Is Your Website Ready For Local Search Engine Traffic?

by: John Jantsch

I suppose the real reason for a local small business to have a website at all is to provide information for the local market, generate leads from local shoppers. Up until now too many small businesses have created websites more like monuments to their company name. If someone knew the name of the company, they could probably find the website. That was good to a point but what about those people who just know they need what you sell but they don’t know anybody who sells it?

What if, instead, local businesses began to think about their websites more like a listing in a phone directory. What if they began to build and optimize their websites with the primary intent of being found in their hometown as the leader in a category. Someone looking for กFarm Fresh Tuna in Upper Cutbank, Montanaก is going to enter just such a search, right?

Google and Yahoo both announced this month their model for tapping into the local search traffic. In other words they are now going to make it easier for web surfers that want to find an accountant in their home town to do so.

Everyone knew they would eventually get around to this very lucrative market so now more than ever you need to prepare your website to be found in your town.

More about local search at these sites.

http://www.google.com/lochp Beta site

http://www.google.com/help/faq_local.html#what FAQ

http://local.yahoo.com/u_s__states yahoo local

What Iกm talking about today is กlocalก search engine optimization. In one sense the principles are the same as everyday regular search engine optimization but the way of thinking about them is a bit different.

gEEk Term definition: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the science of making sure web pages are กdesignedก in such a way that search engines can find, index, and rank them according to the value of their content. For those of you who don’t know, there is an entire industry built around this science.

In the old day the mindset was to create a website and optimize it for anyone looking for a certain topic.

Local SEO focuses first on being found in your town….for a certain topic. Geo targeting is the key. When someone is looking for a veterinarian, they don’t search locally (at the moment) for the name of your firm. Think in terms of a Yellow Pages directory. They go to city they are looking for and then the category and then the name of the firm to call.

Local search is structured much the same. People who are looking for an auto mechanic online will search กKansas City Auto mechanicก In order to win the local search game you must be able to win that type of search.

There are no hard and fast rules and even if there were they would change but here are some things you need to begin to think about to bury your competition in the local search game.

Title tags Probably one of the most important info on your page anyway so make sure your title reads something like กYOURFIRMNAME Kansas Cityกs oldest bakery

H1 tags Make sure that your keywords for your site and your geography have H1 tags The Best Baked Brioche in Peoria, Il

Content Add your address and phone number early and prominently (not a bad thing for every page really)

Meta tags Opinions vary on the usefulness of these but there are some tags that may gain usefulness depending on how the search engines refine their methods.

meta name=กzipcodeก content=ก64105,64113,64112,64110,64106,66207,66208,66210

meta name=กcityก content=กKansas Cityก

meta name=กstateก content=กMissouri, Kansasก

meta name=กICBMก content=ก39.10246, 94.59009

City, State, and Zip code tags are pretty self explanatory but the ICBM one is a bit out there but kind of cool too.

If you go to the GEOUrl Address Server you can locate the exact latitude and longitude of your business. Thatกs what those two numbers after the ICBM tag are. (Of course I think that is the same system they use to target bombs.)

Linking Make your internal links local friendly Instead of ‘remodeling Projectsก use กOmaha Kitchen Projectsก

DMOZ The Open Directory Project is a directory of sites that are listed by human volunteers. It seems that getting listed here gives you high marks with search engines so you need to do it but make sure that you go for the Regional listings all the way down to your town. It is unlikely (and not very useful) that you will get listed for a broad category, particularly if you don’t provide worldwide service. Go for the poodle clipping section of your town and you will have better luck.

Other Directories Another good reason to get listed in DMOZ for your town is that other local directories like Verizonกs Smart Pages and SBCกs Yellow Pages rely on these listing as well. By the way, get listed in as many of these phone book type of directories like Smart Pages as you can. Some are free and there is speculation that initially the big search engines will rely on these already built local directories.

There…that should keep you busy

Is A Yahoo Listing Still Worth It?

Is A Yahoo Listing Still Worth It?

by: Dan Thies

In October 2002, the Yahoo! portal changed the way it delivers search results. In the past, the most prominent results were exclusively culled from websites listed in the Yahoo directory itself. Since October, sites listed in the Yahoo directory no longer enjoy this privileged status.

The Google search engine now drives the primary search results on Yahoo. While this is certainly an improvement for users of Yahoo search, itกs a disaster for many businesses that counted on their Yahoo listing to deliver substantial traffic.

This change has also led many site owners to question the value of a listing in the Yahoo directory. In this article, I will outline the pros and cons of maintaining, or paying for, a Yahoo listing. In the process, I will delve into more details of the recent changes.

Argument #1: Yahoo Listings Mean Link Popularity

Pro: Even if the Yahoo listing itself delivers little or no traffic, other search engines will rank your website higher if itกs listed in Yahoo. Because Yahoo is so important, a link from Yahoo counts more than a regular link. Thanks to its higher กPageRank,ก Yahoo means even more to Google.

Con: Yahoo listings do not deliver nearly as significant a contribution in this area as you might think. You can verify this by doing a กbackward linksก search on Google for any Yahoolisted website. The most important links are listed first, and the Yahoo listing is rarely even on the first page of links for top ranked sites on Google.

Argument #2: Listed Sites Look Better In The Search Results

Pro: Websites with a Yahoo listing show up in the combined Yahoo/Google results with their title, description, and category from the Yahoo directory. This may boost the response when the site appears in the search results. This applies when the URL listed in the results is the same as the URL in the Yahoo listing.

Con: Results listed with Yahoo information include a link to the siteกs category, which may prompt surfers to pass over your listing and go to the category. Sites without Yahoo listings have the more inviting กsearch within this siteก link, which leads to more results exclusively from your site.

So, Is A Yahoo Listing Worth It?

If you have a noncommercial site and can get listed for free, of course! If you’re not one of the lucky few, though, you have to evaluate whether itกs worth $299 a year for what amounts to a better than average incoming link. Everyone must make their own decision. If $299 is small compared to your total marketing budget, it may be easier to just continue paying. My own listing expires in March, and I don’t intend to renew it.

How Can You Profit From The Changes At Yahoo?

The obvious answer is that you must take steps to improve your own position in Googleกs search results. Googleกs rankings are made up of many factors, but the dominant factor is กPageRank,ก which is based on the number and quality of incoming links from other websites.

Therefore, the first step in improving your position on the Google search engine (and now Yahoo) is to improve your siteกs link popularity. This takes time, and trying to take shortcuts can get you into real trouble Google doesn’t like กlink farms,ก or any program designed to artificially boost your link popularity.

Finding Quality Link Partners Through Google

Since only links from quality sites will count for much with Google, letกs take a quick look at how you can find these sites. Start by targeting the sites that link to existing topranked sites. You can do a backward links search for any site by typing กlink:http://www.domain.comก in the Google search engine.

An even faster method is to use the Google toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/), which requires Internet Explorer 5 or greater, running on Windows. With the toolbarกs advanced features enabled, you can conduct a กbackward linksก search from the กPage Infoก menu for any site you visit.

Since Google lists these results in descending order by กPageRank,ก you can quickly determine the best places to get links by doing backward links searches on the top 1020 sites for your desired search terms, and seeking links from the top 1020 places that link to them.

Links Are Not Enough: Optimizing For Google

While กPageRankก is the dominant factor in Googleกs algorithm, itกs not the only factor, and you still need to optimize your web pages. This can be a complicated topic, but the most important factors are:

Keywords in the title of the page

Keywords in headings on the page (H1 or H2 tags), especially the first heading.

Keywords in the body text of the page, particularly the first paragraph.

Don’t Complain, Act!

By some estimates, Google now controls 2/3rds of the searches conducted on the Internet in a given day. Not only is Google.com extremely popular in its own right, but Google also controls the search results on popular portals like AOL and Iwon.com not to mention Yahoo.

A lot of website owners are complaining bitterly about this change. All the more reason for you to take action now, while so many of your competitors are busy licking their wounds. With a little planning and effort, you could be in a dominant position on Google before they even get started.

I wish you success…

Your Secret Weapon: The Web Design Directory

Your Secret Weapon: The Web Design Directory

by: Michelle Echevarria

ขHow can I get more hits?ข, ขI need leads!ข These thoughts run through web designers heads all the time. How can a web designer get their services in front of people who are actually looking for web design services? The answer is the web design directory.

What is a Web Design Directory?

These directories are specifically designed to bring together web designers and showcase their work on one site. The people who visit these sites are actively looking for web design services, thus they are all potential clients. Some of the directories categorize sites by either state, county and/or web specialization. This is a grand advantage because it allows you to hit your target market more efficiently than if you were to submit your site to just a general business directory. What’s even better is that all of the sites I have listed in this article are absolutely free to post your link.

Finding Web Design Directories

Well where the heck do I find these directories? Besides the ones I have listed here your best route would be to log on to Google.com, type in the key phrase ขweb design directoryข and you’ll bring up a ton of listings. Shift through them and decide which ones you feel will help your web site get hits. And just as an aside even if the site doesn’t get you hits it will help you with your search engine ranking. So it’s a win win situation. Try several different search engines with that same key phrase or any alternatives you can come up with and submit to your heart’s desire.

What do I have to do to get listed?

Some directories will ask for a reciprocal link, which is not much to ask given the amount of new traffic your site will draw in as a result of being listed. I know as a designer you may fear that adding someone’s banner, icon or slogan to your site will look tacky or even make you seem like a novice. The majority will not ask you for a banner, none of the sites listed here do, but if they do it’s up to you as a designer to make that decision. This was a concern for me at first but I figured out a way to get around this.

Most of the link confirmations are automated so no one will physically look at your site, so adding just a text link will do the trick. Once the link is confirmed it’s automatically approved and listed on the site. This way they have their link and your have your listing. Everyone is happy. I haven’t had any complaints yet so reciprocal links can work for you as a designer. The only other challenge is finding a tasteful way to present the links on your site. The way I handle it is by creating an ขaffiliatesข link on my contact page this way it’s embedded in the site. The user has to go to a separate page specifically set up just to display reciprocal links. There’s no need to disrupt the aesthetic value of your site by placing a link on your homepage.

Submission Must Do’s and Tips

Here are a few things you should prepare before you start submission frenzy. You will want to have the site title, URL, description, keywords and contact information ready in a word processing program so all you have to do is cut and paste into the online form. It will make the process a million times faster if you have the information ready because while you’re submitting it will be requested time and again. In addition to your regular description you may want to have a truncated version just in case the site doesn’t accommodate lengthy descriptions.

Another tip for submittal is to submit your own domain name link like www.yoursite.com, not www.somebodyshost.com/yoursite. Your link may be rejected and not to mention it’s unprofessional. Also keep in mind that some of the submissions may take a while. Any where from instantaneously to a couple of months so don’t get antsy when you don’t see your link after a week. However, if you feel it’s taking too long to see your link on their site feel free to email the administrator and inquire about when they think the link will be up. After all you’re generating business for them by having their link on your site. It’s only fair. If you don’t get the response you want or no response at all feel free to delete the link from your ขaffiliatesข page and make room for a reciprocal link that is going to bring you potential clients.

Web Design Directory List

Below are some of the sites that really worked for me. All four combined provided an at least 200% increase in my site traffic and resulted in a surge in client inquires:

www.marketingtool.com [optional reciprocal link]

www.firmlist.com

www.1234findwebdesigners.org [reciprocal link req.]

Google Ranking WITHOUT ever submitting to Google!

Google Ranking WITHOUT ever submitting to Google!

by: Martin Lemieux

A while back, I read an article that explained how to get a good google rating without ever submitting your site to their submission forms. Like you, I was kind of shocked by this statement so I decided to give it a try.

In the beginning, I used to submit my site all the time to Google but soon realized the magnitude of my failure. Of course, itกs a known fact that Google relies solely on your link popularity and content.

Link Popularity?

What that means is the amount of links (yousite.com) listed on other sites that are related to yours! The more sites that link to you, the greater your popularity!

So again, Google depends on your link popularity! If you don’t have a google rating (In other words, is your link found on google?) some sites WILL NOT link to yours. There are many sites that have a great google rating and have specific regulations to whom they will accept within their resource sections. They will specify that your site must be listed within Google and if they type in your site in the google search bar, your site should be listed within the top 5 sites.

Hereกs The Theory:

Of course you want all sites to link to you, especially the ones who already have a great google rating because that means that your site will be picked up by google. Some people only try to get links from those sites but just remember, we all had to start somewhere.

My suggestion is to do as many link exchanges as possible and especially make sure that each site is specifically categorized by their content. You will get penalized for having one page full of links to sites that do not relate to each other.

Another little ‘timbitก, try to keep your pages to 120 links within each page. Once you have 20 links, add a button to a (PAGE 2) and continue your resources that way.

Hereกs an example of our ‘resource Sectionก

http://www.smartads.info/resources

Youกll notice how each category has specific sites that get listed within them.

Ok, so I went a little off topic with respect to this article but youกll see how everything is connected together. Once google starts ranking your site, you don’t want to leave any stone left unturned.

So back to getting a google rank without submitting your site. Once you start performing link exchanges with other sites, just keep on going and going and I promise that eventually, Google will start picking up some of your links on other sites. Once this starts to happen you’re google rank will rise.

So just keep doing what you’re doing and let Google do itกs own thing.

When your ready and you’re link popularity grows, then you can submit your site to Google and reap the rewards.

So many companies do this process backwards and wonder why they don’t get listed in Google. Or like what happened to me, Google lists your site right away but then in a couple of weeks, presto, your site is gone from their listing and your left confused as to why!

In this article I talked about Link Exchanges & popularity, feel free to learn more about this in my 2 part series:

What is Site Match?

What is Site Match?

by: Shawn Campbell

While you may have heard of a controversial new program called Site Match, which is being run by the Yahoo/Overture team, what you probably don’t know is what this program is really all about. Site Match is a program created to get your site into the Yahoo database (formerly the Inktomi database) and it can be expensive. It is based on a yearly fee and an additional cost for every click you get from a Yahoo based search engine.
Demystifying the mysterious Site Match
Let me back up a bit and give you some history. On a hot July day in 2003, the directory giant Yahoo bought the colossus Pay Per Click (PPC) database Overture (previously known as Goto). Today, Yahoo has decided to monetize by offering us such programs as Site Match.
What Site Match is not

Site Match has nothing to do with the $299 fee you pay to get into Yahooกs directory
Site Match will not get you better rankings in Yahoo (or in Overture)
Site Match does not get you into Overtureกs auctionstyle PPC database

What Site Match is
Site Match ensures that your site is listed in Yahooกs search database (not their directory), and that it is refreshed every 48 hours. If you are not listed in Yahooกs search database you can do one of two things:
1. Wait until Yahooกs spider picks you up
2. Pay Site Match to list you right away.
Unless your site is brandspanking new, you are likely to already be listed in Yahooกs search database. Yahooกs spider (Slurp) does an extensive job of picking up web sites to add to the database. To verify that you are indeed listed, you can type your domain into the Yahoo search box and see if your site comes up (type กyourdomain.comก without the quotes). If a result comes up, then you are in the database.
How much does Site Match cost?
Site Match costs $49 per year to sign up and $0.15 to $0.30 per click afterwards. If you are listed in Yahooกs database, you get the exact same service for free (except that your site is refreshed every month instead of every 48 hours). What are the advantages of being refreshed? What does refreshed mean? It essentially entails that Slurp comes to visit your site and updates it to the Yahoo database every two days.
My Site Match test
I decided to test out a site to see if there are any benefits to using Site Match. I submitted www.PrintPot.com to the program on April 23rd. This site was created in early April, so it just got into the database a week before. The rankings before and after Site Match are as follows:

A ranking of กnoneก means that it did not turn up in the listings. As you can see, since we signed up for Site Match, our ranking dropped dramatically. Yahoo only shows the top 500700 listings, and The Print Pot (which sells Epson inkjet refill kits) is not found at all.
This was my experience with Site Match, but it was only one experience. I doubt that I will be using Site Match again, nor would I recommend it to my clients. However, with only one test, it would be a mistake to conclude that the majority of sites will drop in listings after signing up for Site Match. What is troubling is how Site Match affected all the keywords that Print Pot was struggling to improve.
What happened? Was there a penalty? The site has no reason to be penalized as it followed all the content guidelines listed by Yahoo/Overture at http://www.content.overture.com/d/USm/ays/sm_gl.jhtml. These guidelines were pointed out by the support staff from PositionTech, a reseller of Site Match. So why did it drop? I suspect that Yahoo is still ironing out the bugs from its Site Match program. The other possibility is that Yahoo changed its algorithm, and the new one does not rank www.PrintPot.com highly. I have sent a letter to Yahoo and expect an answer in the near future. I will inform you of their response in the next www.RedCarpetWeb.com newsletter.
Should you pay for Site Match?
The answer is wonderfully complicated.
Option 1) If you are already in the database: The answer is a big fat NO WAY. The only exception would be if you change your site more often than once a week. Even then, Yahoo would only update the description, title, and ranking of your site on the search engine results pages. The link would still go to the new updated site even if you don’t pay, and even if it is not freshly spidered.
Option 2) If you are not in the database because your site is new: It would normally take 25 weeks to be included in Yahoo’s database for free. If you are in a hurry, then sign up to Site Match. You should show up within 48 hours, and you will be paying $0.15 to $0.30 per hit.
Option 3) If you are not in the database but your site has been online for over 2 months: Something is wrong with your site. Either your robots tag is wrong, or you have zero links in to your site, or you have a penalty of some kind. In order to resolve your situation, it is imperative that you need to hire a search engine optimizing specialist to inspect your site.
Conclusions
Unless you are running a site that gets updated on a near daily basis (such as a news site or a web log), my advice is not to sign up for Site Match. You would be throwing your money at Yahoo, and in return you would be getting a service you probably don’t really need. If you are not listed in their database, there is probably a reason for it, and that same reason would probably keep you out of the database even if you signed up to Site Match.

Initial Search Engine Placement:Tips to Get Listed

Initial Search Engine Placement:Tips to Get Listed on Search Engine

by: Ryen Kim

You can get listed on search engine within a week or maximum within 2 weeks without even submitting your URL. Moreover, it is widely said nowadays that letting the search engine กspiderก index your web site is better strategy than submitting URL. That is, don’t submit URL to search engines: instead, let search engines find your web site, because search engine values the site (which is found during usual crawling) more than the one crawled by submission.

How to let search engines find your home page?

Itกs not difficult nor technical. In theory your site must be indexed on search engine without submitting your URL because search engine spider program will crawl your web site unless you totally hide your web site on the web. Tips are the techniques that force the search engines crawl your site so that your home page can be listed on search engine within a week just after you upload your HTML files on your host. There is one condition, though. Your web pages must have some contents. Don’t be panic. I believe almost every web site has decent content pages.

How to know your site is indexed or listed on search engine?

Before applying following tips, check weather your site is listed on search engines. To do that, type กsite:your homepage addressก, for example, กsite:www.yourhome.comก without quote in the search box of Google, Yahoo! Search or MSN. If your site is indexed, you will see list of your web pages. If not and if you see something like กYour search … did not match any documents.ก, your site is not listed yet.

If your site is listed, you don’t need to read this article further. You have to focus on how to improve your search engine ranking. . If you’re not indexed in search engine yet, apply following tips and youกll be listed on search engine within a week or two.

1. Tip #1: Create RSS feed and add it to your My Yahoo and My MSN account

Whether you know about RSS or not doesn’t matter. Just create RSS feed of your web content pages or articles on your web site and Iกll show you how to create RSS feed and explain how to use it to make your home page get listed on search engines.

1) First, create RSS feed

You can create RSS feed with กFeedForAllก software (for Windows user) without any background knowledge of RSS. It enables you to create RSS feed and update your RSS feed whenever you add new contents to your web site without hassle. You can download free trial of กFeedForAllก at http://homebasedaffiliatebusiness.com/download/ffasetup.exe or buy FeedForAll at http://store.esellerate.net/a.asp?c=1_SKU01552700679_AFL0426179760.

Another way to create RSS feed is:

go to RSS Headliner:http://www.webdevtips.com/webdevtips/codegen/rss.shtml and choose the number of headlines youกd like to include in your RSS feed file.

Then a form with boxes that you need to fill outyour web page title, your web page location (URL) and description of your web pagewill be appeared. Enter the right information, then click the กMake The Codeก button. Youกll notice that this is a bit tedious job but itกs the cost of free. 🙂

It only generates RSS version 0.91 but fortunately many of RSS reader can handle it. I checked its update function but unfortunately it didn’t work correctly (you may try, it didn’t work only for my case). This means probably whenever you update your site, you need update your RSS feed file manually.

* Copy the generated code to your favorite text editor and save it with extension xml, for example, mypages.xml.

* Upload it to your web site so that your RSS feed location can be for example กwww.yourhome.com/mypages.xml.ก

Now you’re half done. Letกs move to the real tip.

2) Add your RSS feed to YOUR กMy Yahoo!ก and กMy MSNก.

If you don’t have กMy Yahoo!ก and กMy MSNก account, create them now. You can create them at กmy.yahoo.comก and กmy.msn.comก and they are free. After having these accounts, locate กadd to My Yahoo!ก and กMY MSN+ก buttons linked with your RSS feed file on your web site. To locate those buttons, do the following.

Go to กFeedBunerก: www.feedburner.com, and follow their instruction. Its service is free and it not only save your time but also gives you some benefits, for example, you can place amazon ads on your RSS feed file.

Using your original RSS feed, FeedBuner will create RSS feed for My Yahoo! and My MSN. You can place either all the RSS feed buttons or only one xml button on your web site. Itกs your choice.

Important thing for your web site getting listed on search engine is to use add to My Yahoo! and add to My MSN button and to add your RSS feed content to your own My Yahoo! and My MSN account.

Also ask your friends to add your RSS feed to their accounts. This enhances the chance to get listed on search engines. I experienced, however. that without bothering my friend , that is, adding my home page RSS feed to only my own My Yahoo and My MSN, I could get listed in search engine within a week.

3) Why adding your RSS feed to your My Yahoo!ก and My MSN account guarantees you to be indexed?

Within 24 hours after you add your RSS feed to your account, Yahoo! Search and MSN search engine will crawl your site. More than 90% certainty, your site will be indexed in Yahoo! Search and MSN. But it will take about a week or a bit more to be listed because there is a delay between crawling and indexing.

Now what can you do? Just wait? No, there is something more you can do. Itกll give you 100% certainty and furthermore help you to be listed on Google search engine. So, please keep on reading.

2. Tip #2: Post questions or opinions to the forum.

Subscribe to the forums that is relevant to your site theme. You can find lots of forums by typing กforum yoursitekeywordก without quote in search box. Choose one or two forums that seem to have many members and to be active. When you register the forum, write down your home page address in the registration form (most of forums provide the box that you can fill with your home page address). And provide your home page link at signature box. One of ways to provide link is using กBBCodeก, for example, กMy home page:My Home Target Keyword ก. You can make a link by using HTML code if they allow.

After registering, post some questions or reply to other members posts.

Why is this good for you?

The search engines frequently crawl the forum sites and whenever they crawl those sites, they follow the links in forum as well. In search engine spiderกs term they may say

What is this link? Itกs not indexed one. I gotta check it! 🙂

So, the more post you do with your home page link in signature box, the better chance you get listed.

By doing this, together with Tip #1, youกll be indexed in Yahoo! Search and MSN for sure. And this gives you higher chance to get listed on Google as well.

3. Tip #3 Use your blog to promote your home page.

It seems everybody is blogging. If you’re not in this trend, please consider stating blogging.

I presume your blog is listed on search engine (If not, following tip doesn’t help). Place your home page link in your blog. This helps your home page get listed on search engines with the same reason as Tip #2

This tip is actually about getting inbound link. Because you can control your blog, this is the easiest way to get inbound link. If you can have inbound links from other web sites, it not only assure you to be listed in search engine but also to improve search engine ranking. Whenever possible, try to get quality inbound link. Itกs a great way to get targeted traffic, to improve search engine ranking and the only way to get listed on Teoma/Jeeves at this moment.

Using the above three tips, you will certainly achieve the initial search engine placement on Google, Yahoo! Search, MSN and probably other search engines. You even don’t need to submit your URL and moreover itกs not recommend nowadays. The initial search engine placement is easy and sure thing if you apply the above tips. .

If your home page doesn’t seem to get listed on search engine after a week…

If this is the case, something went wrong. Check following things:

do your links in forum, blog, and RSS feed file correctly direct to your page?

do you have any site construction on your home page?

are there any broken links in your web sites?

Correct the above problems, if any, then keep on posting and blogging and try to get inbound link. Also update your web site with new content, then ping your updated RSS feed to My Yahoo! and My MSN.

To ping to yahoo, go to

PingoMatic: http://pingomatic.com/,

enter your home page title and home page address in กBlog Nameก box and กBlog Home Pageก box. (It says about กBlogก but don’t worry, You can submit as long as you have valid RSS feed.)

Then tick off the place you want ping. Don’t forget to tick off My Yahoo! and Moreover (for My MSN).

Click the กSubmit Pingsก.

Thatกs it! Hopefully, after correcting the problems and keep on applying the above tips, you may achieve initial search engine placement within another week.
