How To Find Good Keywords

How To Find Good Keywords

by: Trenton Moss

Good keywords are frequently searched for (high demand) but not being targeted by many other websites (low competition). There are a number of tools out there that can help you find them.

Wordtracker

The best tool out there, Wordtracker is one of the most essential SEO tools. To use Wordtracker:

Go to the Wordtracker website (http://www.wordtracker.com)and pay $7 for 24 hours’ access

Enter a keyword phrase you’re thinking about targeting

Wordtracker will suggest hundreds of related phrases click on the ones you like

Once youกve clicked on all the phrases you like, run them through the program

Wordtracker will compile a score for each phrase, based on the number of users searching for it and the number of websites targeting it

The higher the score, the better the keyword phrase!

Wordtracker also offers a free service which works in the same way but only uses results generated from MSN.

Overture

Also useful, Overtureกs search term suggestion tool (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/), is free and much quicker to use than Wordtracker. It works in much the same way as Wordtracker but doesn’t tell you how many websites are targeting each keyword phrase.

Google

Google AdWords Keyword Suggestions (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox) tell you which keyword phrases are being targeted by other websites.

Guidebeam

Guidebeam (http://www.guidebeam.com) is an interesting resource. Type in a phrase and it will suggest a large number of related searches. The numbers provided for each phrase are Guidebeamกs estimation of how relevant that phrase is.

Phone Tips To Get Things Done: Professional Phone

Phone Tips To Get Things Done: Professional Phone Skills

by: John Robertson

It happens all the time, you hear someone over the telephone and you make a generalization about the person you are speaking with. It may not be fair and it is akin to judging a book by its cover, but itกs true nevertheless.
Within 60 seconds, people will make assumptions about oneกs education, background, ability and personality based on their voice alone.
What type of impression is your กphoneก voice making? Indeed there are two areas you should be aware of when speaking. One is กwhatก you say, the other the กhowก you say it. Studies show that as much as 87% of the listenerกs opinion of you is based on your voice alone. That leaves only 13% allocated to what we are saying to make a positive impression. With numbers like these it is easy to see why your voice is so important in your career and personal life.
Today we live in a กvoice mailก environment. We are playing กphone tagก, leaving messages and listening to voice mails left by others. It may take as many as 34 tries before actual contact is made and you have a conversation. By the time you do connect, you can be assured that other party already has formed an impression about you.
The following are some tips that will help you improve your phone voice and technique.
1. THIRD RING RULE: Answer the phone by the third ring or make sure you voice mail is set to pick up by the third ring. Today people are not inclined to wait much longer and will assume you are not available and hang up. Remember, as much as we think we don’t like voice mail, we like the option of leaving a message.
2. PROFESSIONAL GREETING: Remember the 87% rule above and make a good impression. Be aware of what you are going to say in the greeting. Then practice and rehearse BEFORE you leave the greeting on your answering machine. Be short and to the point. Don’t drag out the greeting. It is obvious you are กOut of the office or away from your deskก otherwise you would answer your phone. Consider leaving such statements out of your greeting unless you are actually away from the office, then say so and leave a date for your return. I recommend that you leave clear instructions as to what information you need from the caller. Reminder the caller to leave their phone number, best time to return the call and a brief subject.
3. PREPARE THEN ANSWER: Have a note pad and pen by your phone at all times. Write down the callerกs name and use it during the conversation.
4. BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER: Take notes, ask for correct spelling, etc. 5. PROMPTLY RETURN CALLS: Make it your personal goal that you will be one that returns phone calls. This may very well be the most professional characteristic of all you can develop. Set a goal to return phone calls within 4 hours, it will make a positive statement about you and your image.
6. CHECK YOU MESSAGES: Check your messages several times a day. Learn how to dial in from a remote phone to get your voice mails. Many times the caller is facing a deadline and your information may be crucial for them to complete their assignment.
ITกS A TWO WAY STREET. When You Leave Messages For Others Remember These Tips:
1. SLOW DOWN: Don’t speak too fast. Slow down when you are leaving a message, especially if you have an accent. If you make your message hard to understand or if the listener has to replay it several times to get your message your reputation is slipping in their mind.
2. CLEARLY SAY YOUR NAME: Make absolutely sure the caller will understand your name. Consider spelling your name if hard to pronounce or is not a common name.
3. SLOW DOWN: When leaving your phone number go slow. Most likely the listener is writing down your number, make it easy for them to do so. Repeat the number. Consider saying your number at the beginning and end of your voice mail. People will appreciate this.
4. LEAVE YOUR NAME, COMPANY NAME AND REASON: Leave the listener with all the information they will need to know about you. Don’t make them guess. Always leave the reason you are calling. It is very unprofessional to just leave a message simply saying กgive me a callก
5. MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM TO RETURN YOUR CALL: Tell them a good time to return your call. Give them a date, time and phone number.
6. BE PROFESSIONAL: People do judge you by the tone of your voice. Increase your image by sounding professional in everything you do over the phone
Remember that you won’t be able to avoid phone tag, but you can definitely put things in your favor by doing several small things that will make a BIG difference in your image.

Secrets to Business Success on the Internet

Secrets to Business Success on the Internet

by: Marianne Puechl

Secret Number One: The Key Is A Niche Market

Identifying a viable niche is an important asset as you’re creating a new Internet business. The target should be a certain facet of the population that has very specific needs you are able to satisfy. Discover the habits and characteristics of those who will become your regular customers.

Here are some of the questions you should ask about various consumers.

Does this target market include consumers who use the Internet frequently?

Are these potential customers people who have disposable income?

Which communities have more interest in the convenience and time saving qualities of online shopping?

Are there businesses that could use your help to find diverse or rare services and products quickly and easily?

Are there potential customers who prefer the privacy of purchasing products or services online?

Is there a need in the target market for cost cutting or pricecomparison shopping of particular products or services?

Once you have discovered the answers applicable to your business you can narrow your marketing strategy. Spend time and energy on those you know have potential purchasing power. Also, a marketing portfolio should be diversified and flexible as your business changes over time.

Secret Number Two: Believe In The Importance Of The Web

These days a strong web presence can make all the difference to an entrepreneur. Your can now entertain the possibility of being nationwide or even worldwide. The scope is no longer limited to the physicality of your own neighborhood. Further, it provides your company with a virtual business card that is viewed at a client’s leisure and is a complement to a physical location that may appeal to a different clientele.

An Internet presence is a mighty tool for the small business. To build a web site or a storefront is incredibly costeffective. Also, as a growing number of web design firms and private contractors appear the rates and prices become increasingly affordable. Opportunities to learn how to create a simple web site on your own are also available. Inexpensive templates and programs can be purchased online and only basic computer knowledge is needed to utilize them.

Secret Number Three: Use Every Internet Marketing Tool Available

Unique, lowcost business marketing opportunities are accessible on the web. Bulletin boards, web rings, ezines and other resources post information and articles/press releases on companies. This is often free of charge! Grass roots methods, such as spreading the word about your business through referrals and from one person to another, also move quickly through the Internet. Use this technology to your advantage!

There are endless ways to add links to your website on other sites. This expands your web presence vastly and can also be free of charge. Check out networks online. Business organizations of all kinds affiliate with one another over the Internet. Taking part in an association made up of various providers helps bring in traffic and benefits everyone.

Secret Number Four: Do Not Forget The Importance Of Customer Service

People enjoy great customer service, yet itกs easy when owning an online business to lose sight of providing any customer service at all. The lack of facetoface contact can leave a company seeming impersonal and uncaring. Quality care of the people you work with is key to bringing in repeat business. See your business from the clients’ point of view and expand in the direction that best serves their needs.

On the Internet communication is a valuable commodity. Encouraging clients to ask questions, make complaints or suggestions, and to correspond by phone or email to discuss problems is imperative. Also responding to these inquiries in a timely and professional manner will solidify your presence as a company worth patronizing!

Remember, create a business or build on a business venture with a vision of success in mind. Your vision is an investment! Be adaptable, openminded, and diversify your efforts. This will lead to successful growth and longterm security. Take time to explore tools and do whatever detective work is necessary; make it a habit that continues over the years. Give yourself all of the advantages possible and you will reach your highest goals.

How To Get Number 1 Spot In Google, Every Time, Gu

How To Get Number 1 Spot In Google, Every Time, Guaranteed

by: Mike Cheney

Woaah! Wait a minute. Before I exclusively reveal these insider secrets can I ask you question? Well, actually, I want to ask you a series of questions.
Why do you want to get Number 1 in Google?
กBecause itกs good to be there isn’t it? It means my website is the best out there.ก
Well, no, it doesn’t. Why do you really want to be Number 1 in Google?
กWell, everyone wants to be Number 1 don’t they? If Iกm right at the top everyone will see my business and customers will come flooding to my website in their thousands.ก
They might. But it depends what you’re top for. Have you thought what you would like to be top for in Google?
กMy company, ABC Widgets Limited, comes top in Google when you type in กABC Widgets Limitedก. Thatกs pretty impressive isn’t it?ก
No, frankly, it is not. How many other websites do you think are competing for the phrase กABC Widgets Limitedก? There won’t be very many unless there are others out there who share your company name. Why is being top for your company name any use?
กBecause people looking for us on Google will find our websiteก.
Big deal. You need to be found by the thousands of people already out there looking for what you provide that don’t know your company name. They don’t know what you look like. They don’t know where you’re based. They don’t even know you exist! What sorts of search phrases do you think they will be typing in on Google?
กPhrases like กwidget suppliersก, กwidget sales onlineก and things like that?ก
Yes youกve got it! But are you listed Number 1 on Google for phrases like that?
กNo. We’re nowhere to be seen Mike. I think Iกve been patient enough with you though now answering your questions. Please will you reveal the secrets of getting Number 1 on Google?ก
No, I won’t.
กWhy not?!ก
3 Reasons Iกm Not Going To Reveal How To Get Number 1 Spot In Google, Every Time, Guaranteed
Reason 1 There Are No Insider Secrets
Getting a high listing on Google, or any other search engine, is a combination of hard work, having the right phrases on your website, having lots of great content on your website, having lots of other highlyranked websites linking to you and having your website built in the right way. There are no shortcuts, no magic bullets and no insidersecrets.
Reason 2 Getting Number 1 on Google Is The Tip Of The WebsiteMarketingIceberg
If you focus on getting Number 1 on Google and nothing else it will never happen. You need to focus on all the other elements I mentioned above and especially on developing reciprocal links with other relevant websites. Remember the top website marketing experts in the world (who do nothing else but market websites dayin, dayout) only attract around 15% of their website visitors from search engines. This is not because their websites don’t have a high ranking in the search engines (because they do and many of them will have that elusive Number 1 spot!) itกs because they attract so much more traffic from other places such as directories, associatesก websites, reciprocal links etc.
Reason 3 Itกs Too Dangerous
When you were a child how many times did you hear the following phrase?
กDon’t put all your eggs in one basketก
And yet day after day I hear people asking how they can get top on Google. There are websites dedicated to ‘the artก. People become obsessive about it and many derive their entire livelihood from visitors they get from Google searches. The result? When Google makes a big change to how they rank the websites in their index (which they did in November last year and to a lesser extent in January this year) many of these Googledependent businesses actually WENT UNDER. Thatกs right bankrupted because of an overnight change made by the powers that be at Google Towers.
So yes search engines, and Google in particular, should be an important part of your online marketing mix. But nothing more than that just one small part of the bigger whole. Especially with recent rumblings from the likes of Yahoo! and Microsoft, who are queuing up to topple Googleกs throne, you would be wise to set your sights on achieving a medium profile on hundreds of websites rather than a high profile on just one.

Marketing Your Website Inexpensively

Marketing Your Website Inexpensively

by: A.M. Wilmot

There are a number ways you can go about marketing your website, many of which are quite inexpensive. Effectively marketing your Home website is vital to your ultimate success. In fact, the key to growing a business, and particularly a new Home Business, is marketing. Once you have a domain name (which can be bought for as little as $7 these days) and a reliable host (as little as $5 a month for reasonable one), you can get going on promoting your business on the Net. This can be done for free in some cases if you are willing to spend the extra time on the project. If you are unwilling to do this, you can pay someone to optimize your site and promote it for you, which is generally cost effective.

It is possible, however to promote your business online with no marketing budget. The key is to market it aggressively, guerilla marketing style. This means using every free marketing resource at your disposal, such as free classifieds, newsgroups, search engine promotion, niche directories, freeforalls, blogs, email signature lines, message and bulletin boards and free mailing optin lists and ezines, to name just a few. Just don’t spam, whatever you do. There are many free resources throughout the web covering these free methods. You can sign up for their free newsletters or look for their websites using your favorite search engine. Speaking of search engines, most of the traffic on the internet still comes from the free engines such as Google, despite a recent influx of pay per click or pay per performance search engines such as Overture.

Offline methods includes distributing newsletters with your product or service and contact number listed inside, trade shows, brochures, flyers, stationary, advertising in either local or regional newspapers and/or กfree shoppersก, and passing out audio cassetes about your product or business to others who might be interested. The potential marketing techniques are almost limitless and it may be best to look to your กstarter kitก or starter guide as it will probably go into great detail about which offline marketing methods have been proven to work best in that particular product or line of business. The bottom line is, action always beats inaction, as you gain experience and create a synergy that push your Home Business to your goals.

The Biggest Problem With Your Marketing Is…?

The Biggest Problem With Your Marketing Is…?

by: Karen Fegarty

What is the biggest problem most marketers have? Who knows. We don’t, and they certainly don’t either. That is exactly the problem. Most marketers don’t know whether or not their campaigns are working because they don’t know how to track the results.

I can’t count the number of people I know who create a marketing campaign and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars implementing it, then don’t even bother to track the results. How will you ever know if, when, and why your marketing is successful, or unsuccessful, if you don’t see hard data on your results?

With online marketing, itกs easy to find out where and when your marketing dollars are being wasted. Using online tracking you can:

Track how many people respond to your online ads If people don’t respond, then you can simply alter your ad and try again.

Track when people respond to your ads Do they respond immediately or do they wait a week? This helps you to determine a time frame for sales activity.

Track whether people are opening your email marketing or bulk email messages If they aren’t, maybe you need to change your subject line or find a new list of people to email.

Determine which ad copy or text brings the best results The right words make all the difference in advertising. Online tracking helps you determine which words will pull sales.

Monitor the click activity on your site What you really need to know are the number of unique visitors you receive. A unique visitor is each individual visitor who clicks on your site, regardless of the number of times they click on your site. The number of clicks you receive is less important than the number of unique visitors you receive.

Online tracking can tell you all this and more. Whatever online marketing you use, from banners to popunders, ebooks to articles, make sure you know what works and what doesn’t. Use online tracking and save yourself money, time and energy.

Is Your Email Address กBlacklisted?ก

Is Your Email Address กBlacklisted?ก

by: Jim Edwards

A lady emailed me yesterday very upset over the fact that her friendกs Internet Service Provider (ISP) wasn’t delivering important email messages.

This lack of delivery caused a real problem for the two of them with ruined plans, missed appointments, and just plain inconvenience.

If you don’t use email, this might not sounds like a กbig deal.ก

But this problem of nondelivery has dramatically affected the way businesses use email and is now about to reach epidemic proportions for consumers using email.

To put things into perspective, imagine if every time you dialed a friendกs phone number you had no idea whether it would ring or not.

Now imagine how frustrated you would feel over time if you kept dialing the same number and it never rang for you, but others could get through and your friendกs phone number never changed.

Thatกs exactly how youกll feel when your personal emails start getting blocked for seemingly no reason.

The problem of legitimate email messages not getting through stems from the uncontrolled and unstoppable onslaught of spam that currently grips the Internet with seemingly no end in sight.

The fact that viruses can now กspoofก email addresses and make it look like someone sent a virus to thousands of people doesn’t help matters either.

In an effort to cut down on spam, ISPกs implement a number of countermeasures, including: text filters, spam databases, and IP blocking.

If your email message doesn’t get delivered, most of the time it means you inadvertently got caught in an ISPกs กdefense system.ก

If you ever find your email messages don’t get through, or if youกd like to head off problems before they occur, the following tips should help.

Encourage all your email contacts to กwhitelistก your email address in their email program.

Just like you can say which email addresses you don’t want to get messages from, you can specify a list of email addresses you always want accept.

In Yahoo or Hotmail you can set up your filters to accept email messages from a certain source regardless of the subject line or content of the message.

It takes a little patience to set up, but it pays big dividends by not losing important messages.

With Outlook and Outlook Express, you can set up message rules to always accept messages from certain senders.

If you send messages to people who use AOL, try this technique. Get them to add you to their address book กsafelistก or กapproved senders.ก

This helps AOL identify that the message recipient กknowsก you and has a higher likelihood of actually wanting to receive your message.

Email AOL tech support for help on this if you encounter a problem.

If filtering and กwhiteก listing don’t work, then your friend needs to contact their ISP to sort out the problem.

Their ISP can certainly figure out why messages don’t get through, but it may take some concerted encouragement to get the ISPกs customer service to take the time to investigate the cause.

Best Approach For Free Advertisement

Best Approach For Free Advertisement

by: Emma Okafor

Best approach for free publicity.

Product/service publicity is the superhighway to business success everyone dreams. Then imagine having your product/service written on newspapers, trade publications, aired on radio and viewed on television absolutely for free!!! That’s going to skyrocket your profit target only if you know how to use the best method of getting free publicity.

The milliondollar question now is, what’s the best method for a free publicity? It is the PRESS or NEWS RELEASE. The knowledge about how it works is the key to your success. This knowledge depends entirely on how you understand the psychology of the editors and new directors that publish or air your press release. This article will show you how their psychology works and how best to manipulate them for your benefits.

Number one. These editors and news directors are very busy people. Don’t bother them with your trials and tribulations or your plans for the future. They are only interested in something new and profitable to their readers or viewers. So the rule here is to sell him first. Convince him that your business fills a need to his readers, viewers or listeners. Then your press release will be welcomed.

Number two. Editors and news directors move with the trend. They concern themselves more with current issues and events. So timing of your press release with current news events is an important factor. For example a story on job layoff and increased unemployment carried out on newspapers, on TV and radio should prompt you to get a publicity release out to all the media on help and opportunity offered by your product/service.

Another kind of timing to keep in mind is publication. For Articles you’d like to appear in the Sunday paper, you’ll generally have your release in at least nine days prior to the date of publication.

Number three. Media men appreciate polite gestures. When an editor uses your publicity release, always followup with a customized “thank you” note. Next time you send out your publicity release with others, his more likely to pick yours. If he doesn’t use your publicity release, never call him demanding to know why he didn’t use it or only gave you a mention. Do this once, that particular media will “round file” my further material received from you, unopened! If your first effort is not used, change the story, perhaps write it form a different angle and try again and again.

Number four. They appreciate a formal press release. Finally you need an actual publicity release that’s well written and expected to be used by the media. It must be typed, double spaced, and short (1/2 page total length). About an inch from the top of the paper, with an inch and half margin on the side of the paper; from the left hand margin, type in capital letters: PRESS RELEASE. Then, underline this word. Immediately following the colon, in small letters put the date. Note to put the date forward, at least one day after you intend to mail the release.

On the same line, but on the right hand side of the page, all in capital letters, FOR FURTHER INFORMATION: underline it, and immediately below type your name, your phone number and your address all in small letters.

Skip a couple of spaces, then in capital letterscentered between the margin type story headline, and underline it… skip a couple of spaces, and from the left margin, all in capital letters, type the words, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: from there on, it’s the news or publicity story itself.

Use these four basic psychologies of the media men and enjoy a free publication of your product/service always.

Internet Faxing Service Review

Internet Faxing Service Review

by: Ellen Farrell

The Internet is reshaping every form of communications medium, and faxing is no exception. The latest twist: Internet faxing services that let you send messages to any fax machine from any Web browser or email, and others that give you a กpersonal fax phone number,ก then forward any documents sent there to your email inbox.
The Fax Machine Workhorse in the ก80s and ก90s.
It enabled you to send a document to anyone, anywhere, at any time, and know that it was received instantly. It was a godsend in the 1980s and everyone had to have one. But it has become an expensive bit of machinery that will cost you money every time you use it. Smart organizations are now reducing or eliminating the fax machines they use in favor of electronic services. The fax machine costs you in paper, toner, phone bills and repairs. It is like a taximeter in that regard, and the bill keeps growing and growing. Currently most of the documents that you fax are created on a computer. If you fax them through a fax machine, you must print out the documents, manually create a cover page, and you must go to the fax machine to send the documents. Every time you receive a fax, you must retrieve it from the community fax machine, rather than having it delivered directly to your PC workstation like any other document. Many people still use fax machines today. The alternative is to use fax services from companies that provide Internet fax services.
Fax Machine Costs
The fax machine is considered a simple tool by many, which is probably why they haven’t replaced it yet. Anybody can stick a document into the auto feeder, dial a phone number, and send the document at 14.4 or 33.6 Kbs. But it costs to send a fax.
Among the actions employees must take to fax a document, labor is the greatest hidden operating cost. Labor is a key factor because your staff is more expensive than phone calls, and it makes the biggest difference in fax costs. Most businesses neglect to factor in the costs of actions such as employees walking to the machine, waiting to use it, the faxing process and the employeeกs return trip to their desk. All of this takes time. And in the world of hidden fax operating costsyou guessed ittime is money. Also, keep in mind that it isn’t unusual to find executives with sixfigure salaries performing some of the same faxrelated tasks as clerical workers. When that happens, those labor costs can be as astronomical as some of those sixfigure salaries. Costs also incurred are lease and maintenance charges for fax machines as well as sending charges for making fax phone calls. These depend on the rates you pay and the speed at which your fax machine and the machines you send to can distribute faxes.
How Internet Faxing Works
Ever heard of eFax? You sign up for a fax number. When people send you faxes, they’re autoforwarded to your email Inbox, where you can read them, trash them if they’re junk, or print them out only if necessary. Not only do you save paper and ink, but you don’t need a fax machine or a second phone lineand you get your faxes wherever you happen to be in the country.
Together, in principle, these Internet fax services offer all the advantages of fax a universal system for quick and convenient distribution of anything you can put on paper without making you spend your money on a fax machine, fax supplies or fax phone fees.
In the business world, any time that you can save money, your customers will ultimately save money too. That is why Internet faxing is a good idea. Internet faxing is the practice of using your email (or a website) to send and receive faxes. The speed and efficiency of email, coupled with the lower costs of sending broadcast faxes via email is more desirable than making lots of phone calls.
Sending and Receiving faxes over the Internet with your regular fax machines sounds cool, but so far, todayกs standard fax machines do not yet know how to speak Internet you can’t use them over the Internet. Some of the newer models will have this capability, but it will take time to gain worldwide acceptance. In the meantime, there are a number of services that bridge the gap between traditional faxes and the new world of Internetbased communications.
A number of companies, such as eFax, Faxaway, Internet Fax Provider and MaxEmail, allow you to send or receive faxes over the Internet. These services are either free or charge a monthly fee.
However, many of these services are limited in what they can do:

Require people to dial a long distance number to send you a fax [eFax, MaxEmail]
Attach their own advertising to your outgoing faxes to cover their cost [eFax]
Don’t offer fax numbers in all local area codes [eFax, MaxEmail]
Don’t work for handwritten faxes (unless they are scanned in) [all]

Still, Internet faxing provides many advantages. Convenience and better resolution are the two main pluses. They allow you to send and receive your faxes entirely with your email service the best thing to happen to the business world in the last 10 years. You can send and receive faxes anywhere you can access your existing email account: from your home, office, clientกs office, hotel, airport or cottage. Or even better, a webbased interface that keeps track of everything youกve done with your faxing business and allow you to do cheap and efficient broadcast faxing.
Some of the advantages of Internet faxing:

To send a fax, simply send an email. It will automatically be converted to a fax and delivered immediately
To receive a fax, simply check your email. All faxes sent to your fax number will be forwarded to your email
Web fax For people who need to fax their information to thousands instantly. Send thousands of faxes in minutes from our website Broadcasting.
Avoid tying up your computer or telephone lines
No software to download or hardware to buy
Easily distribute press releases, product and pricing information, newsletters
Sending to International phone numbers is cheap the charge is based on the destination country
Easy and convenient faxes are sent and received over the Internet from the office, at home or on the road. Your Internet กFax Machineก is available 24×7 and is never busy.
TollFree is cost effective some virtual fax numbers are toll free so that no matter where your customers are, they will not pay any additional long distance charges and your North American clients and contacts can reach you free of charge.
Privacy You are the only person to see your faxes, giving them the same privacy as your email.
Portable You can receive your faxes at multiple email addresses simultaneously and you can send and receive faxes while traveling.
Receive faxes directly in email Faxes are receivable and retrievable anytime, anywhere. Faxes are not misplaced and privacy is ensured.
Send faxes directly from email. Eliminate manual faxing. Faxing is integrated into workflow and faxes are delivered faster and at less cost.
Immediate Implementation No unique client/server or software is necessary, only standard email capability. Minimal to no user training.
Unlimited scalability Support as many users as required without purchasing additional fax machines.
Combine multiple document types into one fax Fax multiple documents as easily as sending an email.
Account code tracking Budget and cost management is simplified.
Automatic retries for busy or incomplete deliveries Eliminates need to continually check progress of a fax.
Email notification of incoming faxes Users know immediately when a fax has arrived.
Delivery confirmation via email Users always know when their faxes have been delivered.

Quick Summary of the 4 big services

Efax (http://www.efax.com/) Undisputed leader in the field of Internet faxing. Offers free version. Free version doesn’t provide you with a local number. Regular service is expensive. Offers many other products remote control of computer, etc. Requires proprietary fax viewer software to view faxes. The most local area code numbers available in the US.
Faxaway (http://www.faxaway.com/) Competitive regular service. Web faxing not supported. Many customizable features and options for sending. The personal fax number they assign you is not local they are all in some location where the area code is not local to you just like the free eFax service not too useful for your customers.
Internet Fax Provider (http://www.internetfaxprovider.com/) Offers tollfree numbers which can be used anywhere in the US with the first 50 faxes per month included in the monthly rate very convenient for the people sending faxes to you they will not pay any additional long distance charges. Best rate for broadcast faxing. Many customizable features and options for sending. Comprehensive Web faxing features.
MaxEmail (http://www.maxemail.com/) Offers local numbers in the US. However, you will find that only the major cities are covered. No web faxing available. Good receiving plans.

These fax services use the Internet to mimic real fax machines that is, they deliver your fax to a recipientกs fax machine, anywhere in the world, just as if you had dialed it yourself. Most of these services charge anywhere from 10 cents to 20 cents a page. Thatกs more than youกll pay to send a fax across town, but itกs much less than you would pay to dial an overseas phone number, even for a short fax.
Most major efax vendors offer additional features, including broadcast faxes, the ability to route incoming faxes to you as email attachments and monthly billing.
On the sending side: Most Internet faxing vendors allow you to send faxes by attaching files to an email. When the Internet Fax server gets the email, the emails get converted into a fax coversheet with the recipientกs fax number pulled from the ‘to:ก address. The attached files then get converted to TIFF or PDF files for easy viewing by the recipient. The service will then deliver the converted fax to the recipientกs standard fax number.
On the receiving side: Most Internet fax vendors will provide you with a phone number that you can then give to your customers. This number can be a local number (if you are located in or near a major US city) or a toll free number (available everywhere.) People will send you faxes to that number in the standard way. The service will then convert the fax to a PDF or TIFF image (or in the case of eFax, a custom image for viewing w/ their software) and send to your email as an attachment. You can then view the fax with any standard Windows Image viewer.
In the future as more fax machines include builtin Internet connectivity, faxing might give email a run for its money as a cheap, convenient way to send documents. Until that time, however, efax services will provide the best alternative to picking up the phone and sending faxes the oldfashioned way.
Conclusion
In summary, after reviewing all of the major Internet faxing service vendors, I have found the best service to be the one provided by Internet Fax Provider (IFP). IFP has the best rate plans and offers tollfree numbers that include 50 free faxes per month. I don’t go over 30 faxes per month, so it certainly makes sense for me because with the toll free number provided, my customers don’t have to pay long distance charges when they send me a fax. IFP also has the best broadcast sending rates and regular sending plan with the most features. And it was the simplest to use (you don’t have to use all the available options.)
For free Internet faxing, I found that eFax offers the best plan. But of course, it puts limitations on the service and you don’t get a local fax number. Also, if you live in a big city and you would like a local fax number, then eFax is the best solution. That is if most of your customers are local, because if not, they will pay toll charges when sending you a fax.

Introducing PageRank shattering the myth

Introducing PageRank shattering the myth

by: Dave Collins

One of the most fascinating aspects of the web is its dynamism. We all know that it develops at an astonishing speed yesterdayกs craze is todayกs old news, and bigger and better things seem to be springing up every few days. Some of them crumble quickly into dust, while others seem destined to tower above the rest.

Naturally, search engines also follow this pattern. Some of the early search engine giants remain with us today, but many of them are gone and every so often, a new champion seems to emerge. Recent years have seen the growth and development of a search engine that puts all others to shame. It might have once stood at the same level as its rivals, but there is no doubt that for now at least, Google rules the web.

Many of the companies we work with see more traffic from Google than all the other search engines put together, and there are more than a few Search Engine Optimisation services who focus almost exclusively on this one engine.

What is Googleกs secret?

So why is Google so successful? The answer is simply that when a user goes searching on Google, they’re likely to find what they’re looking for, and more quickly than on any other search engine. Exactly how Google manages to do this is trickier to answer, as they tend to guard their secrets well. They don’t want us to know too much about how they determine their search results, simply because they don’t want anyone to be able to manipulate their own ranking.

Of course, human nature dictates that many of us aren’t satisfied with this. We desperately want to be able to affect the ranking of our sites, and some of us will go to great lengths to do so. We work hard to find the perfect keywords, tweak our meta tags and optimise the content of our site to what we hope is Google perfection.

But recently, a new word has entered our vocabulary, and is surrounded by so much hype that very few people actually have a realistic understanding of what it is or what it isn’t. PageRank is where the attention is focused today, and many companies are determined to find a means of improving their magic number. กI want to be an eight,ก they say, as if PageRank was a dress size that they could grow into with the help of some heavyduty calorie shots. Unfortunately, itกs not quite as easy as that.

So what exactly is PageRank? Thereกs a surprisingly simple answer: it is Googleกs way of estimating how important a web page is. On a basic level, Google decides that if one page links to another, the second page must be considered important. If one page on one site has 15,000 pages linking to it, it must be for a good reason, right?

Page Rank is about pages, not websites

Letกs begin by straightening out a few basic points. First of all, PageRank is assigned on a pagebypage basis. A whole website does not have this score, and different pages within a site can have very different PageRank values assigned. Another important point is that the rating (out of ten) assigned is essentially little more than an approximation of a given pageกs PageRank. The actual values cover a far greater range than zero to ten.

Before going any further, we should take a look at the most important point of all, often overlooked when we get caught up in the PageRank frenzy. PageRank is only one factor that Google takes into account when displaying the results of a search. There are still other factors of equal significance in performing well on Google so don’t make the mistake of thinking that you would live happily ever after if your PageRank was a little bit higher. Other factors include a pageกs title, and the use of keywords within the pageกs text not in the keyword meta tag.

PageRank is still one of Googleกs more ingenious strategies, and is certainly one of the many reasons that it stands head and shoulders above the rest. Partly, this is due to a combination of two factors. Firstly that the very nature of PageRank is difficult (but not impossible) to manipulate, and secondly that the exact details of how the value is assigned is a closely guarded secret.

However, there is one very useful source of data an academic paper detailing the formula used to calculate PageRank from Googleกs early beginnings as a university project. This formula will have certainly been altered and expanded over the years, but it is generally accepted that it still represents the essence of their PageRank system

The Page Rank Formula

The exact details are lengthy, and far beyond what I am capable of dissecting. But the basic formula is as follows:

PR(A) = (1d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ….. + PR (Tn)/C(Tn))

PR(A) is the PageRank of a particular page (A) not a website as a whole.

1d is the dampening factor, as explained below.

PR(T1) is the PageRank of the page that links to our (A) page, and C(T1) is the number of links contained on that same page.

The formula is repeated throughout every single page that contains a link to this (A) page.

Two important points to take into account. First of all, if you’re thinking that the formula would in practice be an infinite loop, then you’re correct. This is the very nature of the web itself, and is also why Google has introduced the so called dampening factor.

The second point concerns the way that PageRank is awarded by one page to another. The generally accepted means of understanding this is to consider that a given page has, according to its own PageRank, a certain amount of voting power. If the page in question links to five other pages, then each of the pages being linked to receive their PageRank กawardก of one fifth of the original pageกs voting power. Itกs also worth noting that the number of links on a page includes a websiteกs internal links.

Link farms don’t work

This makes it quite obvious that the socalled link farms, where each page of a website contains many hundreds of links in an attempt to artificially boost so called กlink popularityก, are doomed to fail from the start. In addition to this, Google has its own system for not only minimising the effect that these sites have, but eliminating it altogether. As the formula shows, PageRank works as a multiplier of a siteกs overall value, so Google has made sure that link farms have their own value of zero which means that a link from them counts for nothing, quite literally.

There is a scare story doing the rounds which claims that being listed on link popularity sites, or for that matter any site with a large number of links, can get your site penalised or even banned from Google. This is simply not the case. If it were, youกd effectively be able to wipeout your competitionกs Google presence with one afternoonกs work. It doesn’t work that way.

Having links to your web pages on sites with a low page rank and a large number of links means that the benefits are quite effectively minimised to zero. But this will not detract from your current PageRank at all.

Obviously, what people really want to know is whether PageRank can be manipulated. In the past it was often considered impossible to do so, but nowadays this is not always the case. There are two simple factors involved:

Firstly: who links to you, and how they choose to do so. Secondly: your own websiteกs navigation and internal links.

Clearly, the sheer number of pages linking to you will not influence your PageRank. Of far greater importance is the PageRank of each of these pages, and how many links appear on them. Common sense certainly needs to be applied here. In theory, one simple way to improve your PageRank might be to have Microsoft link to you from the front page of their website. In practice, this might be a little difficult to achieve.

It is already quite clear that linking out to another website, even if it opens in a new browser window, actually involves potentially giving away a lot more than a little space on your website. My advice would be to look at your link exchanges as you would your food. You always want to make sure you’re not leaving yourself hungry, and if you do choose to share, be selective. Exchanging a piece of your sirloin steak for a small piece of stale bread, shared between hundreds of people, is far from an even trade. If you’re doing so to help another site, as an act of charity, then this is fine and well, as long as you know what you’re giving away. Choose wisely.

Wellknown websites and their PageRank

Now that we have a basic understanding of how PageRank works, letกs take a look at some of the more wellknown websites on the web today, and see how their main pages perform.

Finding out a pageกs PageRank is couldn’t be simpler. Follow the link to Services and Tools from the Google home page, and find the Google Toolbar. After installing the software, a bar appears at the top of the browser showing a value for each page you’re visiting. Hold the mouse over the bar, and youกll be told the pageกs PageRank a score out of ten. As already mentioned, this figure is little more than a representation of a pageกs actual PageRank.

Not surprisingly, very few pages score ten out of ten, and those that do includes the likes of Microsoft, Yahoo, Google itself, AltaVista, Adobe, AOL, Mozilla.org and others. In other words we’re looking at the biggest of the biggest websites and not something that most of us could ever hope to achieve!

Of course, there is a simple reason that search engines and directories have such a high PageRank. Not only do they link to a huge, evergrowing list of sites and pages, but more importantly, a truly staggering number of these sites and pages link back to them. When you consider the importance of reciprocal linking, you start to understand why they do so well. With Adobe, you only need to consider the sheer number of web pages out there that link to a PDF file (with links to Adobe for their free reader software), and you will see why they have achieved such a high number.

A nine out of ten score still puts you within a very small minority of the web. Should you be able to achieve this high a PageRank, youกll be rubbing shoulders with the likes of MSN, BBC News, Winzip and Internet.com. We’re talking about the webกs upper classes here not really attainable for the majority of normal website owners.

Eight out of ten starts bringing you to the ‘reachableก web. Youกll find sites such as CNN, TuCows, Simtel, the Association of Shareware Professionals, the Shareware Industry Conference site and Lockergnome.

A PageRank of seven is starting to appear reasonably attainable, as long as we’re willing to work hard on the content and reputation of our site. The sevens include companies such as DLink, MSNBC, CNETกs Download.com and our very own SharewarePromotions.com.

Don’t lose your perspective!

At this point, a little perspective might be in order. A critical point to remember is that PageRank only plays a part in performing well in Google. PageRankกs primary aim involves ranking the results of a search but in order to show up in the search to start with, your site needs to be properly optimised and have good, solid content. So contrary to popular belief, the era of Search Engine Optimisation is far from over. Itกs only had a new, interesting factor thrown into it.

Finally, a note of caution. This article has been an attempt to very briefly summarise an enormously complicated subject. Aside from constraints of space, much of the workings of PageRank remain shrouded in mystery. The ideas presented are based on available data, known facts, speculation and my own experience but none of it should be considered as insurmountable fact!

PageRank is undoubtedly an important factor in how much traffic you will receive from Google. It is, however, merely one component in your arsenal of tools to win the battle for one particular search engine. Even with the constantly evolving web, and the evertightening systems employed by the search engines to quantify the usefulness of a website, content is still by far the most important factor, and will invariably form the base on which everything else is built. Be seen, be sold.

AutoPilot Link Building Strategy for ContentSite

AutoPilot Link Building Strategy for ContentSites

by: Iszuddin Ismail

OK, this is what I consider a very effective method to get people to link to you without you having to ask them to do so. The best part is that, people will link to you for your most targeted keyword.

I happen to discover this method after seeing the results that I get on one of my website. I don’t have any particular reason for doing it that way on my website, but it seems to work like magic.

Sometimes, I search for people who are linking to me by looking at my referrers. You can also do that by checking your website statistics.

Sometimes, I do a link popularity check at MarketLeap.com.

And to my surprise, I realized that when I visited those websites, they are linking to me using my most targeted keywords.

My Keyword

That is how people are linking to me. And the result, I am ranked number 1 against 2 million websites on Yahoo and MSN. And this is for a keyword that has about 2000 searches per month.

But just how do you go about doing this?

You are about to know the littleknownsecretsteps to getting more link partners with your most targeted keyword.

But before I go into that, I just would like to make some statements about this method.

Some people may like this method and some might not. There are pros and cons. I don’t really know if this will suit well for business or corporate websites. All these while, I have only used them for contentsites promoting affiliate programs and Adsense, which is I think is most suitable.

If you are thinking about building a passive income with Adsense and affiliate programs, then you should read this.

First, you should do a keyword analysis. You can use WordTracker or Overture Keyword Selector Tool.

http://www.wordtracker.com/

http://inventory.overture.com/

After having your list of keywords, you can compare that to the number of competitions that you against with on Google.

By comparing the numbers, you know which is easier to optimize for. And you can also try checking the popular keywords at Search Guild Search Term Difficult Checker.

http://www.searchguild.com/cgibin/difficulty.pl

Another tool that you can use is NicheBot.com.

http://www.nichebot.com

Don’t get trapped into the analysisparalysis zone. Just follow the indicators and look for the most popular and the easiest keyword that you can rank for.

I know that you want to rank for more than one keyword, but just follow me on this and select one keyword that has high in traffic and easy to optimize for.

Now, hereกs the secret number one. You are going to name your website with that keyword. If your best keyword is กGrowing Orchidsก, then thatกs is going to be your websiteกs name.

Hereกs secret number two. Get a domain that has that keyword in it. If you can’t get กgrowingorchids.comก or กgrowingorchids.comก, you can try the dotnet (.net). And if you still can’t get the dotnet, you can add some numbers in front of the keyword like ก1growingorhids.comก. You should be able to get either one of those.

Hereกs secret number three. In every page of you website, use the keyword in your . For your main page, you should have something like this.

Growing Orchids Definitive Guide To Orchid Growing and Care

And on other pages, you can have something like this.

Growing Orchids Dendrium Orchids

Growing Orchids Ochid Diseases

Growing Orchids Watering Ochids

Growing Orchids Lighting for Orchids

The examples above is where you combine the first keyword with another keyword that you are targeting specifically for that page.

Secret number four is optional. Sometimes it still works without the next step. But implementing secret number four will put your website on steroid in your link building effort.

Hereกs secret number four. You should install a reciprocal link script. This is a script where people can submit their link to you after linking to your website. The link will take care of checking the link from the other personกs website and putting a link back to your new link partner.

And now, this is secret number five. You should have a link that says กAdd URLก or กAdd Linkก to your link script. There times when people will search the web for something like this.

growing orchids กadd linkก

growing orchids กadd urlก

These people are looking for your website. By putting the link กAdd Linkก or กAdd URLก, you are telling the search engine that you have a link page. This way, link partners can find you more easily.

Of course, you can always do this manually. But that will beats the purpose of trying to make everything autopilot. And once in a while, you can check and see where you website links to. If you want to remove any, just do so.

Now, what is the result of all these? Well, by naming your website with the targeted keyword and having a domain name using that keyword, link partners have no options but to link to your website using that keyword.

And since the keyword is your websiteกs name, thereกs nothing wrong with having the name of your website on all pages.

Some people might just link to you without you even asking. And most of the times, they would link to you using the text you use in the . When that happens, you are still linked with your most targeted keyword.

If you rank well later in the search engines, you can aslo expect to get links from websites built using Traffic Equalizer or Traffic Hurricane.

http://www.trafficequalizer.com

http://www.traffichurricane.com

No matter which page they link to, they will always link to you using your most targeted keyword กGrowing Orchidsก. And at the same time, you are still targeting your secondary keywords like กorchid diseasesก, กorchid careก or กorchid greenhouseก because you have that in the as well.

I have been using this method and it works pretty well for me. I am sure people will have their opinion on this whether this is good or this is bad. Some people don’t like it not having control over who links to them. But I guess, it boils down to you. Itกs your choice.

For me, this is great for contentsites working with Adsense and affiliate progams. This is the method that I use on my computer case website, airsoft website and my paintball website.

You can give this a try and see how thing goes.
