How To Make Money With Your Own Home Based Busines

How To Make Money With Your Own Home Based Business Niche

by: Dean Phillips

Want to know how to make money with your own home based business niche?

First of all, forget about what everybody else is doing. Forget about what everybody else is saying. Forget about what everybody else is selling. Who cares? From this moment on, none of that has anything to do with you. Iกm going to show you how to make money with your own home based business, by sneaking in the back door. In other words, by creating your own home based business niche.

I want you to think about the one thing in life that you’re truly passionate about. I mean, if you could do anything in the world that you wanted, what would you do?

Once you figure out what it is that you’re truly passionate about, Iกm going to show you how to turn that into a money making home based business niche for yourself.

Whatกs a niche? A niche is a narrowly defined group of potential customers. Why should you bother to establish a niche market? Because of the great advantage and potential of having your niche all to yourself. Other small businesses may not be aware of your particular niche market, and large businesses probably won’t want to bother with it.

The trick to capitalizing on a niche market is to find or develop a market niche that currently has enough potential customers to make it worth your while, and that is experiencing reasonably rapid growth. Itกs also important that your niche is not already being dominated by one established business.

Once you decide on your niche, go to the library and learn everything you can about it. For example, if your niche happens to be doing voiceovers for new car dealerships; then read every book you can find about the voiceover industry.

The next step is reprogramming your mind for success. In that regard, there are two books I consider absolute MUST reads, if you are at all serious about making money with your own home based business.

The books are, ‘think and Grow Richก by Napolean Hill and ‘the Magic of Thinking Bigก by Dr. David Schwartz.

Your local library or bookstore should have both books, since they’re alltime classics. If not, try Amazon.com. But whatever you do, get those books!

By the way, when you get those books, don’t just read them and forget about them. Keep them nearby and refer to them on a daily basis. This is critical, as far as keeping you focused and on the right track.

So, why is it so important to prepare yourself mentally for success? Because quite frankly, you’re bound to experience some extremely difficult times with your home based business. We all do. Thatกs just the way it is. Success rarely comes easy and despite some of the socalled overnight success stories you occasionally hear about, outofthebox successes are actually few and far between.

Another thing, if you’re married or living with someone, don’t expect a whole lot of support or kisses and hugs, during those inevitable tough times.

Unfortunately, most people are conditioned to the ก9 to 5, retire at 65,ก way of thinking. Many of them dream about starting their own business, but just can’t seem to find the courage to do so.

Instead, theyกll observe you with a critical eye, secretly hoping you fail, so that they can justify their own fears and insecurities about being entrepreneurs.

So, if you’re expecting support and encouragement from your family and friends, you’re probably going to be disappointed. I don’t mean to be a wet blanket but, thatกs just the way it is. Most likely, youกll probably hear a bunch of negativity and comments about getting a real job.

Thatกs the point when you’re going to have to look deep inside yourself and stay strong and focused. Because chances are, you’re going to be going through this alone. Thatกs why the mind reprogramming is so important. Itกll help you stay focused and positive. And if by chance you do happen to have family and friends who do support you, so much the better!

You also need to learn how to write effective ads for your business. Powerful copywriting is critical. I highly recommend you read the following books: กScientific Advertising,ก by Claude Hopkins and กHow To Write A Good Advertisement,ก by Victor Schwab and กAdvertising Secrets Of The Written Word,ก by Joseph Sugarman.

Hereกs some advice: The number one reason why most businesses fail is because they’re undercapitalized. You can’t conduct business online or offline without any money. Now, Iกm not saying you need thousands of dollars. However, you need to at least have two or three hundred dollars in the bank to work with.

In closing, if you ever find yourself getting overwhelmed at any point in the process; don’t be afraid to seek help. Consult with an expert, to help you sort things out and gain a new perspective on things. Itกs the smart thing to do, and it just might save your business!

Understanding MultiLevel Marketing

Understanding MultiLevel Marketing

by: Tina Rideout

Introduction to MutliLevel Marketing

Down lines, up lines, overrides and spill over.

Understanding how MultiLevel Marketing works can be very confusing.

Most of the confusion stems from the fact that when people see the diagram for MLM they ‘tHINKก pyramid scheme!!

Which is totally FALSE. As pyramids schemes do not offer viable products and services and the end result is profit for the pyramidกs originator.

MultiLevel marketing companies pay people who invest in it and sells the products or services that it provides is through a กcompensation planก

Understanding a Matrix

A Matrix is the main concept in a กcompensation planก. When a Matrix is applied in MultiLevel Marketing everyone below you in the Matrix ends up giving you a portion of the income they generate in the company. This turns into a commission paid by the Company to you. Hence, you are in the matrix of the person who recruited you.

The people you recruit into your matrix are referred to as your กdown lineก. The people who they also recruit are also in your กdown lineก. The people in your down line are the ones who are responsible for the amount of income that you will receive. As your downline grows, you will recieve more residual income.

People who are above you in the matrix of the MLM are your กuplineก.

กSpill overก is the term used to describe what happens when the first line of your matrix is filled up.

Overrides

The term overrides is used simply to describe the amount applied to the sales volume from the sale of the product.

What should you look for, when choosing a MLM?

When choosing a company to join, the most important factor is not the type of compensation plan, but whether that plan is achieving important goals for กYOUก. Is it easy to enter into the opportunity? You should only have to buy a modestly priced enterance into the program.

Are you rewarded for personally sponsoring others?

Are you rewarded for recruiting multiple levels?

Is the focus on selling products to the end consumer, rather than to your downline?

Are you rewarded for training and supporting your downline?

Are you rewarded for high personal volume?

Are you rewarded for high group volume?

Are you rewarded for maintaining a monthly volume?

Does the plan provide for recognition?

Is the planกs monthly maintenance requirement reasonable?

As more MultiLevel Marketing Opportunities become available, it is not always easy to spot the Legitimate Opportunities.

The information that you have gathered will help you decide if a MultiLevel Marketing Opportunity is a good fit for you.

Is a DVD VCR Recorder Right For You?

Is a DVD VCR Recorder Right For You?

by: Kenny Hemphill

A DVD VCR recorder may, at first sight, seem like an ugly combo of old technology with new. However, there are many advantages to be had from a DVD VCR recorder, also known as DVD VHS recorder or DVD VCR combo recorder.

The first and most obvious advantage is that it provides an easy way to copy your old VHS tapes to DVD and thus preserve them for much longer than they would last on a VHS tape. Just stick the tap and blank DVD into the machine, press a button and, bingo, you’re ropey old VHS tapes can be consigned to the trash, to be replaced by a shiny, new DVD disc.

Saving space is another advantage of having a DVD VCR recorder. Many people like to keep hold of old VHS tapes for all sorts of reasons, but having a DVD recorder and a VCR takes up space, plug sockets, and adds to the jungle of wires behind the TV.

However, itกs not all good news. A DVD VCR recorder has one distinct disadvantage over having two separate units and its one that affects every area where technology combines multiple functions into one device. Put simply, if your VCR breaks, youกve lost your DVD recorder to. And vice versa. Whereas, if you had separate VHS and DVD machines, when one breaks and you need to send it off to be repaired, you still have the other.

If this potential problem doesn’t put you off, and you decide a DVD VHS recorder is right for you, there are a number of things you should look out for. If possible go for a device, like Panasonicกs DVD VCR recorder (http://www.masterdvd.com/panasonicdvddvsrecorder.html), which records to DVDRAM as well as DVDR or DVD+R. This allows you to timeshift your DVD recording, meaning you can watch the start of a program while still recording the end of it, or pause and rewind live TV. Timeshifting is incredibly useful and will change the way you watch TV.

You should also look for a device which plays back DVDs using progressive scan. This means that rather than splitting each frame into two fields and displaying each one alternately, the entire frame is shown on screen at the same time. This improves the quality of the picture when watching DVD players.

If you have lots of VHS tapes that you want to carry on watching or want to record to DVD, itกs possible that a DVD VCR recorder could be right for you.

5 Things Every Internet Marketer Must Learn From M

5 Things Every Internet Marketer Must Learn From Mail Order To Increase Their Profits Now!

by: Jo Han Mok

Understanding that the Internet is another vehicle for direct response marketing can potentially make you rich!

Itกs true. Not many people actually กget itก.

Information marketing has much in common with the กold schoolก mail order business. In fact, many of the practices you see online today such as two page direct sales minisites, mailing lists and unique products, come directly from the mail order model.

Every Internet Marketer would benefit from studying the mail order industry. The basic marketing principles and practices employed by the industry translate naturally to the online environment.

The five core priorities of successful mail order companies parallel those of the online marketer. They are: demographics, targeting, testing and tracking, upselling and customer follow up. If you aren’t focused on these key areas yet, read on to discover why should be, and what it will mean for your bottom line.

Direct Response Lesson #1: Demographics

Demographic information provides an in depth profile of your potential customer. There are two ways to acquire demographic information, and two separate motives for each method.

You can:

• Acquire data from consumer data mining companies such as MarketShare Online • Acquire data from your existing customer base

The preferred source depends on your product development process and your current resources. Professionally gathered data allows you to survey the market and create highly targeted products. Rather than searching through keyword lists for potential niches, you can use demographic data to target specific classes of consumers based on their spending habits and disposable income. Your marketing strategy becomes much clearer with this data in hand. It allows you advance insight into your customer’s interests, pricing points and mindset. Now, you have a baseline against which to test the effectiveness of your sales message.

You should also acquire as much demographic data as possible from your existing customer base and mailing list. Even when you possess the resources to pay for this information you should still query your own customers.

Why?

Quite simply, you need to compare the profile of your existing customer base against your expected customer base. For example, if you sell a highpriced information product targeted towards small business owners, yet find that 50% of your list is composed of nonqualified tirekickers, something is off with either your sales copy, your targeting or both.

Direct Response Lesson #2: Targeting

Here is a rule of thumb for you to memorize: interest and need alone are not enough to generate a sale. This is a controversial statement, I know. Ask yourself the following question, though: how often have you found yourself interested in a product yet not purchased it? How often have you needed a product, yet not been able to afford it?

The truth is that, in either case, despite your interest and your need, you were only marginally targeted when the offer was presented to you.

This subtle case points to the synergy between demographics and targeting. This is why mail order companies go to such great effort to acquire detailed information on the marketplace. Whether you send 100, 000 pieces of mail or pay for 100,000 visitors to your web site, the goal is the same: put the offer in front of the right people, at the right time. If you put the right offer in front of the right person at the wrong time, it’s the same as no offer at all. It is untargeted.

Direct Response Lesson #3: Testing and Tracking

You absolutely must test and track everything you do. You must track your payperclick campaigns, your newsletter mailings and the paths taken by visitors to your web site. You must test your ad copy and your product pricing.

The testing and tracking phase of a marketing campaign marks the proving ground between demographics and targeting. Once you’ve acquired the data on your potential customer’s behavior, you must track their actual behavior to find out if it matches the expected results.

Until you do this, you are really only guessing at what works. Every mail order company places a tracking code on their post cards. This allows them to zero in on the exact location, age, income, race and marital status of responsive customers. When you first launch a product online, however, you are essentially blind to this information until you start tracking. As you gather your data, however, you will discover which search engines and which newsletters pull the best. Over time, you will be able to match this up with deeper demographic data collected from your list and discover, at the very least, the age and income of your customers and which search engines they prefer.

Can you imagine knowing that men between the ages of 2434, for example, prefer Google, or that stay at home mothers prefer Yahoo? This type of data is priceless because it directs your targeting up front. This is the exact goldmine which awaits you when you devote careful attention to testing and tracking your campaigns.

Direct Response Lesson #4: Create Robust Order Forms for the UpSell

Your order form can pull more profit through impulse purchases than you realize. Many internet marketers seem to believe that one product should lead to one simple order form. This is probably due to so many of us being selftaught. We copy what we’ve seen.

Have you ever stopped to examine a mailin coupon or catalog form? Even when the offer ultimately focuses on one major product, the form still includes an upsell and sometimes even a counteroffer.

For example:

ขYes! I’d like to order the Incredible Bikini Wax System for $49.95 today! Also, please include my 14 ounce bottle of Instant Soothing Moisturizer, a perfect complement to the Incredible Bikini Wax System and a steal at only $9.99ข (UpSell)

ขYes, I’d like to subscribe to Golfing Today! Instead of the incredible offer of 12 issues for $14.99, I’d like to receive a full 52 issues a year for $29.95ข ( counteroffer)

The reason for doing this, of course, is that the customer is already interested and already in a buying mindset. You’ve done all the hard work to lead him to your site and you’ve enticed him with your sales letter. He’s on the order form with credit card in hand. Why not use this moment to make a complementary offer? You can upsell a related product of your own or that of one of your joint venture partners for a profit split.

There’s really no harm in making the offer. The customer will either take you up on it or he won’t. The important point here is that a robust order form, with additional offers, helps you squeeze out extra profit and cuts down the work of luring that customer back in the future to make additional purchases.

Direct Response Lesson #5: Post Sale Follow Up

What happens to your customer after the sale? Take a page from the book of mail order secrets and follow up with that customer! If you’ve ever purchased anything through a catalog, you know what happens. You end up on their mailing list and continue to receive catalogs and other offers in the mail.

In fact, you may receive so much mail from that one company that you become irritated! While I don’t recommend going overboard with your mailings, I do recommend moving your customers to an announcement list or newsletter.

You don’t want a one time shot with that individual. Rather, you want to build a lasting relationship. Your follow up process should be designed with several goals in mind:

• Keeping your name and brand in front of the customer • To build trust and credibility by sharing supporting material that adds value to the product • To maintain contact so that you can make additional offers in the future

Customer follow up is so important it can’t be stressed enough. There is a rule which states that 80% of your sales will come from 20% of your customers. In other words, if someone purchases from you once, they are likely to purchase from you again provided you take appropriate action and keep them connected to you. Remember that your customers are human and may go through a variety of emotions after making a purchase.

They may experience buyer’s remorse. They may feel nervous about sharing their credit card information with you and then never hearing from you again. They may absolutely love you and your product and want to reach out for more information. You must tend to each of these variables in order to gain the customer’s trust and appreciation, so follow up!

What will you do with the five lessons presented to you in this article? You have before you a nearly complete outline of a profitable business system for online marketing. Take these principles to hear and put them into practice. Know your market. Speak to your market. Connect to your market. I guarantee your profits will soar.

Search Engine Optimized Articles – The New Break T

Search Engine Optimized Articles – The New Break Through

by: Calissa Leigh

Search engine optimization isn’t tricky. Search engine optimizers, if they are honest, only save you time when it comes to getting your website listed with search engines. Google and Yahoo and all those other search engines only want one thing, for websites with relevant content to be listed in appropriate order under key word terms and the highest number of provided content.

That’s it.

What does that mean? Each website falls under certain keyword terms. Each website also has content, in which case a search engine is only interested in the text provided on the website itself. Depending on how much relevant content is provided on a particular website, it will be listing in order of the most relevant with a higher number of pages with content first.

In addition, websites outside of your own website that has quality content that links to yours will also help evaluate relevance.

So in simpler terms, search engine spiders want content (articles or text) relevant to keywords (keywords integrated into text) and links from other websites with similar content (websites with articles just like yours).

Seems simple enough. Write articles and post them on your website and submit articles to other websites. Is it as easy as it sounds?

Writing Content that is Search Engine Optimized

Good content for a website must integrate your chosen keywords. Your website might sell candles but do you really think you should use ‘candle’ as your keyword? Such keywords are highly competitive and you might have better luck writing about a more defined keyword. A candle seller might instead work with ‘handmade soy candle’ or ‘cinnamon scented candle’ instead.

Throughout the article you must use your optimized keywords a number of times before search engines will consider your article of relevant content. This doesn’t mean you repeat your keywords to the point where the article sounds like a broken record. You really do need content that your visitors will actually read.

Try working with something simple. A list of the top ten ways to decorate your home with soy candles might be an idea for an article. If you run out of ideas, you can always ask a freelance writing for some suggestions. They must come up with article ideas all the time and most will be glad to help brainstorm with you.

In addition, a freelance writer should be able to help you write your search engine optimized article at your request. Going rates are inexpensive, a 200 – 500 word article might only cost $45 $100. These articles are professionally written and you retain the copyright so you can publish them wherever you like.

Sharing Your New Search Engine Optimized Article

With your article finished, you must now post your article to your website. You will want to great at least three to five articles for each keyword you want your website to be optimized for. Once these are in place, alter your meta tags to reflect the content of the keywords for that page.

Also, you can now post your article to various article banks if you choose. Article banks are depositories for writers to submit their article that they are willing to distribute for free. You can request that the author share the byline at the bottom of the page so that your link is provided whenever a website owner posts the article to their website. This means not only free exposure for you on their website, but you are fulfilling one of the things search engines are looking for, pages with relevant content are linking back to you.

Forget everything you thought you know about search engines and how it might have been difficult. Search engine spiders are getting smarter about relevant content for keyword terms. Writing articles not only fills in your website with quality content, it also provides you with a way to tell search engine spiders how relevant your articles are. Take advantage of this by writing your own article, or having a freelance writer work with you to create articles for you.

10 Critical Things To Do Before You Spend A Dime I

10 Critical Things To Do Before You Spend A Dime In Advertising

by: Karin Manning

ขResearch…ข

Let’s say it again…

ขResearchข…Grrrrrrrr.

The word ขresearchข can make many eBusiness owners cringe. Why? Because it sounds like such hard work.

Let’s analyse the word itself. ขSearchข means to go looking for something and ขreข means ขagainข. Put them together and it means to go looking for something again.

Guess what?

Research is hard work. However, to survive online research must be done and it must be done on a regular basis. So if you don’t like doing research, well basically, that’s too bad. It’s time to take it by the hand and make it your friend because you need to do research to be a successful eBusiness owner for these reasons:

Research is going to take time, however, in the long run it’s going to save you a lot of money.

Research is what’s going to set you apart from everybody else. By taking the time to research hot topics, hot websites and the latest techniques of Internet gurus you are going to learn what is currently working and what is currently not working – taking advantage of the mistakes that others have made – and that information alone is priceless.

Research is going to make you look like an expert. People will want to join your list, belong to your private site, read your books because they know you spend the time researching the latest up to the minute trends and techniques.

Research is what the majority of eBusiness owners avoid doing like the plague. Why? Because people are inherently lazy and if there’s an easier way of getting from (a) to (b) people will consistently choose that route.

Guess what? By doing research that other people hate doing you will become a valuable regular source of information to an unlimited number of people.

So let’s say the word again and this time let’s say it slowly and with a smile…

:O) R E S E A R C H :o)

See, it doesn’t seem so awful now, does it? Because research is what is going to save you a lot of money, make you a lot of money, and research is what all successful Internet marketers do on a regular basis.

It’s time consuming

It’s annoying

Sometimes it’s a right royal PITA (Fill in the blanks with this one ;O))

However, it’s a necessary evil so let’s learn to really love it.

Okay, now that I hope you are feeling a little warm and fuzzy towards doing research ;o), what every Internet marketer must do on a regular basis is research what advertising works.

And the first step is to find a newsletter/ezine to advertise in and to do that you need to spend a bit of time collating some information.

Here’s 10 things to do before you spend a dime on advertising:

Take time time to look at the newsletter publisher’s website.

If you like the website then subscribe to the ezine and look at the format of the ezine closely.

Contact the publisher and ask the following questions:

What is the number of subscribers?

Has each subscriber specifically asked to be subscribed to the list or has it been automatic through a coop etc?

Is double optin used ie. Has each subscriber confirmed their request to subscribe?

How often and what days of the week is the ezine published? It is generally believed that Tuesday through Thursday are the best days for readership, however, I know of many successful ezine publishers who publish regularly on a Friday or Saturday targeting weekend readership.

Is the ad published in the newsletter itself or is it published as a separate ad sheet (newsletter preferred).

Will the publisher use your choice of subject line and, if so, will it just say your subject line (always preferred) or the words ขSOLO ADข and then your subject line?

Is there a queue before your ad will be published (this is a really good sign)? A queue usually means that ad results are good and the ezine is a recommended advertising source.

By taking the time to wait for these answers and going over the responses carefully you will immediately be able to place ezines in rankings of importance as a result of the answers you receive.

The more ขyesข answers you get to the above questions the higher the quality of the readership will be. The number of subscribers is not an indicator of how well your ad will pull. Quite often newsletters with low subscribers pull as well as newsletters with thousands of subscribers.

The bottom line at all times is the sales you receive as a result of your ad placement. The higher the readership quality the higher quality prospects and customers you will receive and the less refunds you will have to process :O).

So next time that you’re in two minds about doing things the quick way (looking for quick results with no research, high chance of monetary loss) or the slow methodical way (looking for quality results, possible delayed gratification, definite monetary savings in the long term) remember that Turtle who gave a certain selfconfident Hare a big run (pardon the pun) for his money.

Now which one are you…that Turtle or that Hare?

10 Website Blunders Guaranteed to Send Your Visito

10 Website Blunders Guaranteed to Send Your Visitors Elsewhere

by: Michael Turner

When you build your website you need to have a plan first. The reason for this is if you do not have a plan you will likely make mistakes, forget to include information, and overall have an unorganized and not a well thought out page. While you might read the page and completely understand everything, remember that your website visitor did not design the page and needs a little more direction. Read the following 10 website blunders that are common and will make your visitors head to another site quickly.

Blunder #1 Contact Information

You need to provide your contact information, phone numbers, email addresses, and physical address if important. The reason for this is if a potential customer wants to contact you for whatever reason they can!

Blunder #2 Poor Organization

Make sure your website is well organized and that all links are obvious. You should even use subheadings to make it even more clear where information is. You don’t want to have to make people search.

Blunder #3 Checkout

Make the checkout process straightforward and easy. Too many times people get to the checkout and it is difficult, asks for a lot of unnecessary information, and generally takes longer than the customer wants to spend buying the product. As a result, the potential customer leaves your site to buy elsewhere. Don’t let this happen to you, make your checkout fast and easy!

Blunder #4 Typos

If your website has typographical errors, it will be noticed by your visitors. Many people consider this a sign of a novice, not a professional who is in business trying to make a living. If your website is full of typos, people are not going to believe that you take your site seriously and as a result they won’t either.

Blunder #5 Hidden Information

Do not hide information. You as a webmaster might not think the information is hidden, but if it is not readily visible it might as well be hidden. Make all information obvious and easy to find.

Blunder #6 Personal Information

Do not ask for personal information, and if you do explain why and do not make it mandatory. Many times people will want to buy your product and get to the checkout page only to have to answer lots of personal questions first. This will send people to other less interrogative pages.

Blunder #7 Too Many Forms

Keep it simple. If you are asking for memberships, checkouts, or anything that requires information, do not use a lot of forms. Figure out what questions you really need to ask and keep it short and sweet.

Blunder #8 You, not We

Focus on your customers, their needs, and what you can do for them. Your customer is not going to your page to find out about you, but what you can do for them. Remember this and if you have to put a web history about yourself, then do so in a special section where people can opt to read it.

Blunder #9 Help People Make a Decision

People might not know what they want when they go to your website. So, lead them, make suggestions about products, and provide backgrounds and uses for different products.

Blunder #10 Focus

Make sure the focus of your site is obvious and clear from the first page of your site and throughout.

7 Ways to Become an Obvious Expert in Your Field

7 Ways to Become an Obvious Expert in Your Field

by: Roger C. Parker

Obvious Experts enjoy a compelling advantage over their competition; they’re the first ones thought of when there’s a challenge to be addressed. Obvious Experts are resources whose advice and expertise are welcomed, trusted, and enthusiastically recommended. When you become an Obvious Expert, prospects come to you presold on your competence. This speeds sales and avoids pricing issues based on unfamiliarity and a resulting lack of trust.

Here are seven ways to use technology to promote your professional services on a limited budget:

Technology makes it practical to promote Obvious Expert status. You can:

Maintain constant contact. You can keep in constant contact with clients and prospects without the costs of printing and mailing.

Educate your market. Show prospects what to look for when buying and how quality pays off in the long run.

Synergy. You can create a powerful synergy between online and offline marketing. Use print to drive website traffic!

Here are some ways to put technology to work promoting your expertise:

1. Keep in touch for free

Adobe Acrobat’s PDF file format lets you distribute attractive, easy to read, OnePage Newsletters for free via email and the Internet. Monthly, educational, OnePage Newsletters prove your expertise without bragging or boasting. A monthly OnePage Newsletter is far more effective than a fourpage newsletter every other month, or a quarterly eightpage issue. Acrobat permits you to use type and layout to visually ขvoiceข your OnePage Newsletter. This establishes an image and sets it apart from your competitors.

2. Drive web site traffic

Flash Paper, a file format you create with Macromedia Contribute, permits you to display formatted newsletters on your website. Visitors can immediately read and print your OnePage Newsletters without having to download them. Contribute also lets you update your website without knowledge of HTML.

3. Add a personal touch

Web audio adds another level of persuasion and personalization. You can record ขwelcomesข and ขinvitationsข—furthering your relationship. Audio also permits visitors to hear testimonials delivered in your client’s own words. You can host teleconferences on lowcost rented bridge lines. You can expand upon topics introduced in OnePage Newsletters, engaging your market and deepening relationships. Calls can be recorded and offered as free MP3 website downloads.

4. Automate your marketing

Use autoresponders to automatically fulfill prospect information requests. Each request can trigger a timed sequence of emails—like a ขminicourseข—greatly increasing your chances of making a sale. Postpurchase autoresponders help you crosssell, upsell, and resell buyers.

5. Write better in less time

Mind Mapping software helps you plan your marketing and write more persuasive copy. Mind Mapping helps you harvest and organize your ideas. You can easily plan your marketing and create each issue of your OnePage Newsletter. You can also use online technology to dictate your newsletters, greatly reducing the time it takes to create each issue.

6. Publish your expertise

Printon demand helps you publish a book that promotes your expertise without undue financial risk. Books are only printed when they are sold.

7. Learn from your market

Online surveys help you identify your market’s information needs, test offers and messages, and find out why visitors leave your website without buying.

Keys to success

Use multiple technologies. Use autoresponders to distribute your surveys, for example.

Commit to consistency. OnePage Newsletters keep you constantly in front of clients and prospects.

Always look your best. Use design to reinforce your image and your message.

Educate, don’t advertise. Let your ideas speak for themselves. Sales will follow.

Resell Rights Cash Flow System

Resell Rights Cash Flow System

by: John Taylor

For the life of me I don’t know why more people don’t use this technique that could literally blow their sales through the roof.
This tip can be as complex or as simple as you want to make it. In a nutshell, one way to differentiate your product is to offer unique bonuses that no one else has. This simple technique can make the difference between you getting the sale or someone else getting the sale.
By creating your own bonuses you create more value so you could even charge more for the exact same product that others may even be giving away!
Letกs say I wanted to really push sales of the Link Check Generator. Hereกs exactly how I would do it:
1. Go to http://www.marketingseek.com and find every possible article about link popularity, how search engines like incoming links, increasing your Google Page Rank, etc. Copy those articles into a document or if you have it you could use the full version of Adobe Acrobat (http://www.adobe.com) to automatically download the articles into PDF format.
2. Visit the sites of the article authors. See if they have an affiliate program and if you can put your affiliate link in the resource box at the bottom of their article. You might need to ask permission to use the article in association with a for pay product or to combine the articles with others in your little special report.
3. Read the article thoroughly and make sure you understand the concepts involved. Start putting the advice into practice on your own site so you aren’t faking knowledge of the techniques.
4. Make notes that show you are knowledgeable at the bottom of the article after the resource box or on another กeditorial pageก. For example if I were making an editorial comment about this article I might write: กJohn really seems to know what it takes to really make big sales with ebooks. I tried this little tactic and found that not only was it easy to implement, I made 4 more sales the next day. One other thing that I think would go good with this technique is to do audio tutorials. ก. But whatever you do don’t lie.
Now youกve added unique content to a freely available article. Of course you can write much more if you are so inclined to add even more value.
5. Add other useful content like reviews of other software or ebooks related to linking matters including your affiliate link of course.
6. Use an ebook compiler like Armand Morinกs eBook Generator (http://www.goclick.com/to/ebgen) or Adobe Acrobat (http://www.adobe.com) and organize the articles to create an ebook.
7. Although not necessary, you can make a cover for your bonus report. One of the best cover makers Iกve used is Ecover Generator (http://www.goclick.com/to/ebcgen) but you can create your own if you’re not graphically challenged.
8. Do it all over again for the same product or other products you have resell rights to. You could add checklists, tutorials with screen shots, lists of useful resources, other reviews and recommendations, etc. There really is no limit to how you can apply this.
Thatกs it. Now get going!

Dislocating the Distractions

Dislocating the Distractions

by: Brian Roe

One of the major issues with having your own homebased business is distractions. Itกs easy to abandon work when the television is just down the hall (or in the same room), or the laundry is calling your name.

Ultimately YOU are responsible for your success or failure, and the household duties and the freedom to postpone work can sometimes be too enticing to pass up. To have a successful business, one must exert control. Control over surroundings. Control over time. It is important to stay focused on your business and not whatกs on the TV. Here are a few ways to help minimize the distractions.

ก Location, Location, Location. Set up your office area as far away from hightraffic areas as you can. Avoid kitchens, living rooms, near the front door, etc. The best solution is to have a room solely for your office. However, thatกs not always feasible.

o When space is an issue, set up your area in a corner of a room, and keep potential distractions out of view, or you will soon be focusing on them instead. Try to create a barrier from the rest of the room, which produces visual and psychological separation.

ก Organization, Organization, Organization. This will really make or break some people. For starters, only keep things in the area that are of use for your business. Sparse decorations are okay, but keep the guitar out. Second, keeping supplies organized and wellplaced eliminates many future headaches.

o For those with stacks of papers floating around, filing cabinets and trash cans do wonders for eradicating messes. Also, keep oftenused supplies close at hand, whereas rarely touched items need to be put out of the way. To save space, consider placing the phone on the wall.

ก Plan, Plan, Plan. Itกs best to have a clear idea of what needs to get done. Some people arrive at their desk, and kind of meander their way through the day without any focus. That wastes time that you don’t have.

o For maximum profits and efficiency, write down all the tasks ahead of you. You might want to split them into two lists: priorities and projects. List the most important tasks first, and work your way down. Every evening pick which tasks need to get done the next day. Work on the priorities first, and if thereกs extra time, tackle a project.

o These lists are not set in stone. Emergencies do come up, but knowing what is ahead of you helps you stay focused. Also, crossing off completed tasks creates a great sense of accomplishment, and gives you something to look forward to.

These three easy steps will help you eliminate distractions and propel your business into greater prosperity, but old habits die hard. Commit yourself to making the most of your office and your time, and your productivity and confidence will go up, while your amount of stress goes down. An organized office and a good plan of attack will keep you focused and sane.

Running a Program on a Remote Server Using SSH

Running a Program on a Remote Server Using SSH

by: C.S. Deam

How do you run a program on a remote server using ssh?

For this example weกll have two servers, one named Johnny and another named Cash. Both are running openssh. Our goal is to have a program on Johnny login to Cash and run a program on Cash. To make the task a little more complex weกll be using different users on each machine.

The first thing weกll need to do is generate public and private keys on Johnny. So, logged into Johnny as user กboyก we create public and private keys by creating them in the .ssh directory as follows:

Johnny$> pwd

/home/boy/.ssh

Johnny$> sshkeygen t rsa f sue

Generating public/private rsa key pair.

Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):

Enter same passphrase again:

Your identification has been saved in sue.

Your public key has been saved in sue.pub.

The key fingerprint is:

8d:e9:c0:g1:c7:1f:e3:b3:2f:38:12:aa:b5:3b:2e:b3 boy@Johnny

Johnny$>

In the example above we picked an arbitrary name, sue, to identify the files that hold the generated keys. When prompted to enter a passphrase (twice) we simply hit enter twice.

As the output of sshkeygen indicates, the public key has been saved in a file named sue.pub.

The output of sshkeygen implies, but doesn’t indicate directly, that the private key is in a file named sue (Yes, a user named boy created a file named sue.)

Johnny$>ls l

rwx 1 sue suegrp 887 Oct 17 14:27 sue

rwx 1 sue suegrp 223 Oct 17 14:27 sue.pub

The private key file, sue, will remain on Johnny for the reaminder of this exercise, but the public key must be moved to the remote server, Cash. Note that the .ssh directory itself, as well as the sue and sue.pub files should have permissions of 700.

Now youกll need to ftp the sue.pub file from Johnny to Cash. The user on Cash that weกll login as is user กnamedก.

Johnny$> ftp Cash

Connected to Cash

220 Cash Propery of Xyz. Authorized users only

Name (Cash:boy): named

331 Password required for named.

Password:

230Last unsuccessful login: Fri Oct 17 13:12:55 2003 on ftp from Johnny 230Last login: Fri Oct 17 16:02:11 2003 on /dev/pts/1 from Johnny

230 User named logged in.

ftp> cd .ssh

ftp> mput sue.pub

mput sue.pub? y

200 PORT command successful.

150 Opening data connection for sue.pub.

226 Transfer complete.

224 bytes sent in 0.000781 seconds (280.1 Kbytes/s)

local: sue.pub remote: sue.pub

ftp>bye

221 Goodbye.

Johnny$>

Now weกll telnet into Cash and concatenate the sue.pub file into /home/named/.ssh/authorized_keys file.

Cash$> pwd

/home/named/.ssh

Cash$> cat sue.pub >> authorized_keys

Cash$> exit

Connection closed.

Johnny$>

Letกs recap what weกve done so far.

1) Weกve created public and private keys on Johnny.

2) Weกve ftpกd the public key file, sue.pub, from Johnny to Cash.

3) Weกve telnetted to Cash, and concatenated the contents of sue.pub into authorized_keys

We’re now ready to manually login from Johnny to Cash using ssh.

Johnny$> ssh i /home/boy/.ssh/sue named@Cash

The authenticity of host กCash (xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa)ก can’t be established.

RSA key fingerprint is 65:11:7d:ef:ed:a3:cc:34:d1:b5:ba:c9:16:22:31:23.

Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes

================================================================

*** NOTICE TO ALL USERS ***

================================================================

Cash$>exit

Connection to Cash closed.

Johnny$>

Now on Johnny, create a shell script called กboynamedsue.shก with the following one line of contents and chmod the script to 777.

ssh i /home/boy/.ssh/sue named@Cash /usr/bin/ls l

Next, execute the script on Johnny.

Johnny$> boynamedsue.sh

================================================================

*** NOTICE TO ALL USERS ***

================================================================

rwxrwxrx 1 named namedgrp 10020 Oct 17 14:35 namedfile1.txt

rwrr 1 named namedgrp 680 Aug 14 16:18 namedfile.html

rw 1 named namedgrp 1148 Aug 18 09:51 mbox

drwxrxrx 2 named namedgrp 512 Jun 17 13:38 old

Johnny$>

You just executed a program on Johnny, that logged into Cash and ran a program (unix กls lก).

The next step youกll want to take is to replace the ก/usr/bin/ls lก command in the boynamedsue.sh program with the path and name of the program that you want to run.
