Buying the Perfect Computer – The FIRST Time

Buying the Perfect Computer – The FIRST Time

by: Dan Preston

So you’ve finally decided it’s time for a change. No matter what advice you follow that old work horse of a desktop computer you have has outlived its usefulness with slow loading applications and a continuous rise in operation noise.

Searching for that Perfect Computer can be about as much fun as purchasing a new car and about as frustrating also when sorting through the various brands while trying to decide which ขbells and whistlesข best fit your needs. Besides all that trying to return something that is so large can be both inconvenient and very difficult to do.

So making the right decision the

FIRST time is the wise path of choice.

For starters you’ll need to decide what you want to do with your computer. Are you into the video game scene or are you someone who likes to just surf the internet and occasionally do some book keeping with simple word processing software?

If you’re into video games you’re going to want a machine that can handle the high level of graphics and superior sound quality.

On the other hand if you’re not into all that high adrenalin stuff can probably get by with a less expensive system. Although, if you want to stay on the safe side I would recommend going with something more ขhighendข so you don’t have to spend another large chunk of change to upgrade the system you just bought.

There are two basic routes you can take when purchasing a new computer.

1) Purchase a ขBrand Nameข Computer

2) Purchase a ขCloneข Computer

A ขBRANDNAMEข computer is one that is manufactured by a company that is recognizable by name.

Some Advantages/Disadvantages of ขBrandNameข computers include:

Advantages

Customer Support If you are experiencing problems with your computer you will have the option to contact a representative of the company that you purchased the PC from to get help in solving your problem.

Customer support is probably the best reason to buy a brandname computer.

Warranty Having a warranty is always nice since it acts as a type of security blanket for you.

In case a part on your computer should fail you should be able to get the item fixed at no charge just as long as the warranty has not expired.

Read and understand a company’s warranty policy BEFORE you purchase a computer from them.

This way you’ll have a good understanding of the procedures to follow in case a problem should arise.

Preinstalled Software Many companies will include software packages that are all set up and ready to go for you on your computer.

Although, a disadvantage of buying a brandname computer with software preinstalled is that you usually end up with more than fits your needs and usually just results with the wasting of space on your storage device.

Additional Support Most brandname computer companies are also able to provide you with web sites that may provide you with current software updates, user manuals, or basic troubleshooting help.

Disadvantages

The use of Proprietary parts the term Proprietary refers to products that are unique to an individual company and that company only.

So if a part was to malfunction on your computer after warranty and you needed to replace it you could not just go to your local computer store and purchase any old part even if it was intended for the same function as the item that failed.

You would be forced to buy the exact same item that came out of the computer or else the computer would more than likely cease to function correctly.

Having to buy proprietary parts usually involves the need to place an order which means you’ll have to wait for the part to arrive or you’ll have to send your computer into the company or an authorized dealer of that company for repairs.

People with a home based business would probably not be too happy with that situation at all.

Integrated/Onboard parts In the computer world when you hear the word integrated or onboard it means that a particular part such as the modem or sound port where you plug in your speakers, is builtin or part of the computer main board (Also known as the Motherboard).

This means that if any of these items should fail, you can’t just remove them from the computer and replace them with a new part. They are usually soldered directly to the main board and are stuck there.

Although, some computers do provide a way to disable a malfunctioning device which will allow you to install your own store bought device to take the place of the broken part.

From a computer technicians point of view this is not always easy to do.

It just depends on what brand of computer you currently have. Meaning some are easier to work on than others.

A ขCLONEข computer is a clone or a copy of its brandname counterpart with the exception that instead of company specific or proprietary parts, the items used to make a clone computer are from several different companies instead of only one.

Let’s say that if you were to go to a local company that builds ขcloneข computers, and you tell them what you need, chances are they don’t use parts that are specific to only that type of computer like the brandname computer companies do.

This is a good thing because it means that they will probably use components that are interchangeable with many different brands and are easy to come by if needed.

Some Advantages/Disadvantages of ขCloneข computers include:

Advantages

Cost compared to brandname computers the clone will generally be easier on your pocket book when purchasing one with similar features as its brandname counterpart.

This is most likely due to the money that is saved by not offering the highend customer service. Although, that may not be the only reason for the lower prices.

Easily Accessible Replacement Parts Since the clone computer was built with parts that are not any one company specific, you can buy parts for the clone computer that can be used even if the brand is different from the one that was in the computer when you originally bought it.

Note: Before you buy any parts, it is necessary to make sure that the replacement parts are compatible with your particular computers system requirements.

Either consult the manual that should have came with your computer or get help from a knowledgeable friend or repair person.

Disadvantages

Warranties Unless you purchase a service plan you will typically not have as an attractive warranty as you would with a brandname computer company.

Whatever you do just make sure you understand how long the warranty is for and as to what kind of repairs the warranty covers before you make the purchase.

Customer Support With brandname computer companies you are usually provided with a 24hour toll free number that you can call if you have questions or concerns with your computer.

Clone computers are more than likely not going to have a 24hour help service, but rather you will be forced to only be able to call during regular business hours.

Also, it is more than likely that there will not be any one website that you can go to in order to find out information concerning troubleshooting questions you may have.

For service it may be necessary to take the computer back to the store that you bought it at or you may have to do some research on the individual parts that went into the computer and visit the manufacturer’s website for troubleshooting tips.

Finally, if all else fails you can certainly take what you have learned from this article and being that you know what you need now, but don’t know where to go and get that ขPerfect Computerข, the best resource at your disposal are the very men and woman that work at your local electronics shop.

It is their duty to help you get hold of that ขPerfect Computerข that best fits your needs. All you need to do is tell them what you plan on using that computer for and they should be more than happy to help you from there.

Internet Marketing, Fact Or Fiction?

Internet Marketing, Fact Or Fiction?

by: Adam Buhler

Iกm sure youกve seen it before, your inbox overflowing with promises of making millions in the span of a few weeks. If your like me you have these กopportunitiesก safely tucked away in your recycle bin faster than you can say กSpamก,

but all the while in the back of your mind is that everpresent question, กWhat if?ก.

What if hidden among the tidalwave of กGet Rich Quickก hype is the one chance for you to turn your life around and take control of your future?

I won’t lie to you, almost all of the garbage floating around the internet today is just that….trash!

I must inform you however, you CAN make your living online if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty.

There are two main factors in the the prejudice of internet marketing,

[Lack of effort] This is the number one killer of the american dream. Society as a whole would like to believe that success can be achieved with little or no effort on their part and that running a home business consists of firing up their computers and laying around all day!

[Bad experiences] Another large contributing factor in the fear of internet marketing is people who have had less than desirable results from their own efforts. one thing holds true and that is that bad news travels twice as fast and twice as far as good. While a good deed is forgotten a bad experience never is.

If you are serious about going into business for yourself, you CAN be successful.

I know because Iกve been doing it for two years now and quite frankly I am disgusted with the dark cloud that looms over the phrase กInternet Marketingก. This reputation is largely derived from the many scams out there, these are your everyday ขGet Rich Quickข schemes claiming to make you millions with little or no effort on your part.

Sadly, many people fall victim to these scams due to their desire To make money with no effort on their part.

I recently had the opportunity to talk via email with one of my visitors, And when asked what she was looking to gain from my services she stated That she wanted to find something where she could make money while doing very little work.

It all comes down to one final truth….You will get from Internet Marketing What you are willing to put into it. If you dedicate your time and efforts you can reap huge rewards however, If you come into it with the mindset of getting something for nothing All you will end up with are regrets.

The Team Process

The Team Process

by: Ray Cooney

We live in very progressive times, one only has to look around at the changes on the internet each day to see that this is true.

We see changes also happening within the world around us as well, sometimes for the better sometimes not. We sometimes can feel frustrated in that it appears that we can do nothing to make the changes that we would like to see.

It is only through banding together that we can make our influence felt, when you look back over the history of mankind it would appear that all the significant changes came about by team effort.

>From the first groups that gathered together in caves for mutual protection against the forces of nature and the dangers of the wild, to today with groups working together to help our journeys towards the stars.

While most of us may never be going on journeys to stars, nor have to fend off the forces of nature, there are exceptions to every rule, we can find ourselves in a situation where being independent doesn’t help.

It is in these times of need that we find that being part of a team and cooperating as a team with a single purpose creates a greater good.

So when we go looking for an online business that we can participate in, we need to look at the existing teams within that business. How well do they interact? How well do they assist newcomers?

Unless these factors are thoroughly researched one can find yourself struggling not only to work out what you should do to work this business, but can actually find that others may be negatively impacting the way we work.

Now I know that it is easy to say find a group to work with, however not all personalities can work well together and so you not only need a good program, you need people that you are comfortable to work with and that you get along with.

This all takes time which is a significant reason why nearly every GETRICHQUICK scheme fails, this type of program is an individual domain not a team effort. It is only in the team oriented system that true value is placed on individuals and their worth to the team as an integral part of a well oiled machine.

Our planet requires this team effort as well, it is no good trying to do things by yourself. You need like minded individuals to create significant change. Although a single spokesperson may be associated with an event it is the team that is behind that person that achieved any of the successes.

I am not taking away from the individual, some are born entrepreneurs and if you can find one who is willing to mentor you then by all means latch onto their coat tails, I am sure that journey will be worthwhile.

However if you were to remove the team behind the one I can say without any fear that the results would be thousands of times less then with them.

So being part of a team is really a prerequisite for a successful business on the internet, but how do you find that team? How will you start? What do you need to do?

The first step is to work out if there is an existing program that already has a team in place and whether this group meets your expectations of what you want to do.

If not move on find one that does, now I am not suggesting that you jump from one idea to another not at all, do your homework on the program prior to joining, talk with those already involved, find out what makes them and this particular program tick.

Once you are satisfied make a commitment to stay with this program for a sufficient amount of time to give it a fair go, we are not talking weeks or months here but a long term commitment of at least 12 to 36 months.

This is the only way that you will establish your own niche in any program.

The next step and I am sure that you have heard this many times before, start to build your own list of people to share with, people that can like yourself become part of your team.

There are many ways that you can go about building your lists, and being a newbie myself I am still learning, however one very good method that I have found is by having my own newsletter. http://oneperfectday.net/newsletter.htm

You can build a list using this method within a few months from 10 or 12 to over 400. In time you can build this list into the 1000กs that you see others creating.

One thing I will mention here if you do go this path, you must have something of value to offer your subscribers, so that they will keep coming back to hear what you have to say in your newsletter/ezine.

Other methods of creating optin lists are in creating reports or eCourses and offering these free to anyone that wants them, of course you need to make sure that they have a perceived value or else you will not have any one join.

You could also create capture pages and offer a something of value for your subscribers name and email address, this works well but I have found that the other methods are superior in my own experience.

Another way is to do this what I am doing now write an article about something that you know about and submit it along with your resource box, the part in your message that contains the details of your own business.

eZine and Newsletter editors are constantly looking for new articles that are of value to their subscribers and could supplement what they are doing on the internet, it is this cross sharing that can also help build your optin list.

Especially if what you have written is helpful to others, one thing that sticks in my mind is a saying กYou can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.กZig Ziglar

This is so true, in fact you can virtually guarantee that if you help sufficient people along the way you too will grow in your business acumen.

So go out there and find your Team to work with, begin creating your list and create and share your wealth, whether that is in the form of money or knowledge.

Have You Sold Your Internal Customers?

Have You Sold Your Internal Customers?

by: John Jantsch

You can make the sale. You know your core message. You know your target market inside out, right?

But if you have even one employee than youกve got another sales job to do. Everyone in your organization must also be sold on the dream you have. Everyone who answers the phone, walks the sales floor, attends that Chamber event, or followup on a sales lead in your company’s name must be sold first.

Let’s start to think of your employees and strategic partners as internal prospects. What have you done to really light their fire about what your company does, about how it is different, about the unique value you can bring to a service relationship?

Most of the time small business owners completely neglect the notion of what might be called ขmarketing training.ข But then they wonder why no one in the organization get pumped up about providing over the top service. Or why no one really has a clear picture of who or what makes a good lead.

I can stress this notion enough. Any person in your organization that comes into contact with a client or prospect in any fashion is performing a marketing function.

So, now that you know who the first target market is, get out there and start pounding the isles, cubicles, break rooms, and conference tables looking for prospects who are just dieing to to be sold on the vision you have for the business.

What if everyone if your company was made to understand that part of their job, no matter what else they did, was marketing.

Can you imagine an organization with a culture like that?

Picture this. Your head of operation is at a cocktail party and someone asks them what they do for a living and instead of this: ขI’m the head of operations for a small electrical contractorข they utter these words: ขI make contractors look brilliant.ข

Or what if a field technician was confronted with a problem and instead of passing that problem on they saw to it that the problem was addressed and then they called the client back and made sure they were happy and offered to send the client some movie passes for their trouble.

Here’s an idea. Go out and print up new business cards for everyone at your firm that say vicepresident of field operations and marketing fanatic. The marketing fanatic now becomes a part of everyone’s title.

Of course, now you actually have to do the sales job or, like any good selling, the process of educating your internal clients. But hereกs the good news. They want to be sold. They are dieing to be sold.

I suggest you look at setting up quarterly meeting that focus on all aspects of marketing your firm – lead generation, selling, and customer service. Then maditorily invite your entire staff for marketing seminars.

Build marketing training into your hiring meetings and staff orientation. Make it a part of your routine reviews. Write a entire chapter on marketing into your employee manual.

If you meet resistance to this notion it is because you have not made it priority in the past and people will always resist change. The key is that make sure they understand that this isn’t just another chapter from the latest business article you read. You must make the new found emphasis on marketing an expectation and a requirement.

Teach you people who makes a great client, the exact words they should use to describe your firm, how your firm is different, the promotions you have planned for this month and next month, the challenges your prospects face, the goals you have set for your marketing.

Finally, find a way to turn your marketing into a game. If you can find a way to motivate everyone in the organization to help grow the enterprise, think what a machine you could create. And if you find that you have people that don’t want to play the game…do them a favor and get rid of them. Let your folks know from day one that they are part of the marketing team.

Do’s and Don’ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie

Do’s and Don’ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie (Part 1)

by: Debra Hamer

I, myself, being an internet marketing ขnewbieข (endearing term used to refer to people who have just started their own internet business and don’t know what the they are doing) have learned a few things and would like to share my observations, tribulations, and triumphs with my fellow ขnewbiesข. In sharing my experiences I hope I can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and obstacles you will face. Let’s try to avoid some of those ขInformation Overloadข headaches as well. I don’t want you to walk through the same mud puddle if I can point it out and help you avoid it.

First, in the article which is Part 1, I will list some important ขDO’sข. Part 2 will cover the DON’Ts.

Do take your time, one step at a time. Do understand that building your business is not something than can be done in a matter of days, not even months in most cases. It’s going to take time, lots of time.

Do practice Patience! I know it’s not one of my virtues either and it’s really hard to put into practice, but to save your sanity, try to be patient!

Do understand in the beginning you will be suffocated with so much information and resources your head will hurt (that’s where the Information Overload headache comes from) and you will not know which direction to take first. You’ll just be spinning your wheels if you try to go off into 20 different directions at once. Remember, concentrate on one thing at a time!

Do use your best judgment when weeding through all of the information. Throw away the obvious hype and keep what you feel is resourceful and useful.

Do make it a goal to accomplish one task each day. Later when you can handle it add one or two more tasks. Progress slowly.

Do look for free resources, there’s plenty out there on the internet to help you build and promote your business. There’s also a lot of hype and misinformation and just plain bad information, so definitely use number 4.

Do join some good internet marketing forums. You will find a lot of advice and tips on how to promote your business. Many people there are also ขnewbiesข and you can bounce ideas off of each other. Many will post what has worked or hasn’t worked for them. Learn from the internet marketing experts, they were in your shoes at one time, benefit from their experiences.

Do file and organize the information you receive for retrieval later on. Organize your email by creating folders to keep information categorized and easy to find. Keep a log in Microsoft Excel with all of your affiliate ID’s, affiliate URL’s, and memberships.

Do learn some basic HTML code. This will make it easier for you to change, delete, and make any additions to your website. If you don’t know how to add a link to your website then how will you exchange links with other websites to increase your search engine rankings. Go to http://www.htmlgoodies.com and take their basic HTML tutorial. Read my article titled ขWhy You Should Learn HTMLข on my Articles and News page at http://www.profitfromhomebiz.com

Do realize that it’s going to take a lot of work and time to establish your business. Especially, a business on the internet. It’s not an autopilot business. You will probably spend more hours working at this business than you would a regular 9 to 5 job.

Chances are you are new to internet marketing, so study and learn as much as you can before you just jump in. Know what to expect and be prepared.

Do realize that having an internet business is just like having a business in the ขrealข world. You need to have a plan, you need to advertise, and you must have a budget.

Do download the ข30 Days to Successข Ebook written by Stone Evans. You can find a free copy on my website at http://www.profitfromhomebiz.com. You will need to provide your name and email address which will subscribe you to my Home Business Tips Newsletter (which is full of internet marketing tips and articles), and then you can download the Ebook. It gives you a day by day guide on how to promote your business online. It’s an invaluable tool!

Do believe in yourself and your abilities. Believe in your success!

I divided this article into two parts so you would not fall asleep trying to read the whole article at once. Part 1 of this article has covered the DO’s for the internet marketing newbie. Part 2 of the article will cover the DON’Ts. Be on the lookout for the part 2

Making Money With Online Surveys

Making Money With Online Surveys

by: Paul Clark

Gone were the days when you had to wake up in the early hours of the day, rush your breakfast, drive in frustrating heavy traffic to get to your office and subject yourself to endless such hassles…You don’t have to do all these anymore. The advent of Internet culture is changing our work culture upside down – you can make money staying at home, doing something that you will enjoy and at the same time feel important. The best part is, you can work when you like, enjoying your breakfast or enjoying your favorite TV show. The advantage of deriving income by taking part in online surveys is that you need not have to be working on it full time. You can choose your own work time and that allows you to live your life to the full. Even if you are employed, you can still supplement your income by taking part in online surveys.

Yes! Unbelievable but it is true! You can make money by taking part in online surveys. All that you have to do is to make few choices, express your opinion, and be paid. www.moneymakerbiz.com that has been helping millions to make money through providing an appropriate forum to take part in online surveys is ready to help you too.

Companies conduct paid surveys prior to the launch of a new product to get consumer feedback to ensure success of the new products. In order to gain deeper insight into their product from customer’s point of view, companies spend an enormous amount of money in gathering information through online surveys. They are willing to invest their money on you because they know that your opinion counts.

However, does this offer you any job security? How constant is the income? How long can one rely on income through online surveys? Analysis of current trend will tell us that these fears are undue fears because the realization of the advantages of online surveys is on the rise. More and more people are seeking recourse to online surveys because of its ability to collect a vast amount of data in a short span of time, reduced hassles on manual efforts to enter and process the data as automation is possible. Online surveys also enable automatic data validation. All the above advantages contribute to remarkable efficiency. Thus, the growing popularity of online surveys can only make you rich, that is precisely what www.moneymakerbiz.com will help you do and you need not have to worry about the stability of your income. You just need a computer, internet access, a valid email id and should have completed 18 years of age to make money through online surveys.

How to Put Colors in Your Photograph

How to Put Colors in Your Photograph

by: Paul Hood

Wouldn’t it be nice to see your black and white photos in full color? Learning to create and edit old photos is fairly easy and very worthwhile. Digitally restored photos can be used to make digital scrapbooks, posted to Web sites, shared through email, and printed for giftgiving or display.

To achieve this effect, we will need to colorize using Paint Shop Pro. According to Bill Brewer, ขcolorizing is a feature built into PSP that keeps the luminance values (the bright and dark parts that make up the recognizable image) and colors the image with one color. The image to be colorized needs to have a color depth of 16.7 million colors, and it can be in full color to start with (reduction to grayscale is not required before colorizing). Using that command brings up a dialog box where you have control over the hue and saturation, with a preview. I suggest you DON’t use that menu item to colorize images. Instead use the more powerful HSL adjustments accessed with the Colors>Adjust>Hue/Saturation/Lightness… command. That way, you have complete control over the hue/saturation/lightness, and the color preview is much better than what you get with Colorize.ข

To start off, get your photo ready. Begin by scanning your black and white photo into your PC. Make sure that your picture is straight and if not, use Paint Shop Pro’s Straighten tool to ขuncrookข the image. Next then would be running the One Step Photo Fix by clicking the Enhance Photo button in the Photo toolbar atop the screen and choose One Step Photo Fix. Try to clean up whatever dirt or scratch that you may see in the picture.

Now, moving on to the next part. Working in layers. Choose the Layers, Duplicate tab to make a duplicate of the image you want to colorize. We can now make color changes to the top layer without affecting the original image underneath, letting us adjust the intensity of the colorization by playing with the layerกs opacity.

Now for the final part, you may choose to use either the Freehand Selection toll in Smart Edge mode or you may opt to use the Magic Wand. Set Feather to about 1 pixel, and select one of the faces. Once done, click on the Flood Fill tool and set the Blend Mode to Color in the toolbar at the top of the screen. For a typical Caucasian skin tone, set the Red, Green, and Blue levels to about 215, 190, and 150, respectively, then click OK. Now click Flood Fill to colorize the selected face. You can repeat this process for all of the skin in the image.

Then select the clothing and background and add color to as much or as little as you wish. When you’re done with the image, you might want to adjust the overall intensity of the colorization. To do that, make sure the Layer Palette is open (if it isn’t, choose View, Palettes, Layers) and then doubleclick on the Copy of Background layerthis is the one on top that weกve been painting. Then you can use the Opacity slider in the layerกs dialog box to change the color effect. When you’re satisfied, click OK to keep your changes.

Above simple instructions from Dave Johnson is very easy to follow and is very helpful for the particular purpose.

How To Really SEO Your Site

How To Really SEO Your Site

by: Matt Colyer

Search engine optimization is one of most popular online marketing tool for any website. With more websites coming online every day the competition gets larger, so you have to make sure you can out SEO them before they out do you. In this article I will tell how to increase your ranking and how to out do your competition.

Search engines change their algorithms often and itกs hard to keep up for anyone, so if you don’t know much about SEO don’t worry, I will get you up to speed. First make sure YOUR site is robot FRIENDLY by using HTML instead of flash and use more text than images or flash.

Page size can help you rank better in search engines, by keeping your page size low you will help robot(s) get more out of your web page. You should Keep it under 100k, but itกs best to keep it around 25k or lower. Content is a key because search engines like Google love theme sites. Build three pages of content per week with at least 200 words.

One thing that every one that owns a site should have heard about by now is link popularity. Link building is very important because not only will search engines find your site faster, but it will help you rank higher for the keywords you used in the links. Try to trade links with websites which have high Google PageRank of at least 4, the more the better, but don’t trade links just for PageRank, look at Traffic more. Below is a link to a link exchange that will help you build you link popularity and traffic.

http://www.linkexchangeit.com

Density and position play a big part in your ranking for your keywords. You should use your keyword once in the title, once in the description meta tag, once the in the heading, once the in the URL, once in bold text. Try to get a density between 5% and 20% and you should do good.

Submit your home page and maybe a few other pages in your site to the search engines, than wait for them to come to your web site. The waiting part is the harder part after you submit to the search engine. You can see the main search engines that you should submit to below.

Google http://www.google.com/addurl.html

Yahoo http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request

Teoma/Ask Jeeves You will need to email Teoma to get in at this time.

Meta tags are not that important as they once were, but some search still consider them and this could help you rank higher in some search engines. Use the keyword meta tag and description meta tag, the rest don’t do nothing nor help!

After the robots start coming to your site watch the logs (If you have logs) very closely and keep up with what pages they index and how often they come. Also make sure robots are crawling the full site and not just some pages.

Why You Need an ArticleMarketing Strategy before

Why You Need an ArticleMarketing Strategy before Posting a Single Article Online II

by: Dr. Lynella Grant

This is Part 2 of a 2 part article Read Part 1 at http://www.promotewitharticles.com/strategy100.html

Write for the NonHuman Reader

Articles should be written to cater to two dissimilar types of readers humans and search engine spiders. Each responds to information in their own ways. How one attains the best of both goes to the heart of your article strategy.

People want articles they read to be useful, timely, and relevant. Writing quality (with wit, persuasion, emotional images, etc.) matters to them. But thatกs of no concern to the spiders. Readers who like what youกve written are likely to come to your website maybe even buy something. Yet, the benefits received from search engines are just as important.

Search spiders are attuned to links, keywords, and Page Rank (the popularity of sites that link to yours). Decide which keywords or recurring theme to build every article around before starting to write. That amplifies your search engine optimization (SEO) and payperclick (PPC) efforts. Multiple articles can draw attention to a wide array of pertinent terms.

What Search Engines Do for Your Articles

Track your keywords as they appear in posted articles

Deliver links to you in response to relevant queries, thereby sending targeted traffic to the site

Find your site through links from posting sites particularly important for a new or lowtraffic website

Show the places that publish your articles

Increase your Page Rank as highquality links are established

Raise your site in the rankings as more and more articles appear

Decide Where to Submit your Articles

Who (human) are you writing for? Narrowly defining appropriate interest groups will dictate what spin to use. Unless thatกs clear, blasting out articles is too hit or miss. For example, if writing about electronic games for children, your emphasis will be very different if written for parents, schools and institutions, or the kids themselves.

Clarity about your audience determines where to send your creative output. Article Marketing Academy http://www.promotewitharticles.com/howto.html offers extensive lists of where and how to post your articles.

Youกll soon learn which sites actually publish your contributions, and which drive traffic to your site. Your submission list keeps growing with every completed article (becoming more valuable to you all the time). At some point, your namerecognition and expert status kick in.

Watch Out for Contradictory Messages

Maintain a consistency of message from one articles to the next, that is also in synch with your website personality. If your article promises a mother lode of answers, make certain they can be easily found, once a reader visits your website. Confusing navigation or a sour note can quickly undo whatever good your article accomplished.

Recycle Your Articles to Work Harder

Posting your articles online is just the start. Even before youกve written them, plan offline ways to recycle that same information. When I write articles for clients, I encourage them to use it in as many ways as possible. Don’t neglect your customers who aren’t Internet savvy.

Repackage Articles Multiple Ways

Send to local publications as press releases or PR

Submit to trade journals

Create handouts to be provided at your store or with services

Collect them into handouts or flyers to sell or give away

Reformat them as hints, booklets, tutorials

Incorporate them into speeches or classes

Monitor the Results

A strategy only makes sense if you also keep track of whatกs working. How many websites actually publish your article and link back to yours? (Thatกs easy to determine. Conduct a Google or Yahoo query with your article title in quotes. Continue to log where it appears for several months after posting.)

Spelling out an article promotion strategy makes your Internet and traditional promotions work smoothly together. And it assures that the needs of both search spiders and readers will be satisfied. The right time for planning is before starting to write any articles. I can help you with that. http://www.promotewitharticles.com/consult.html

Your carefullycrafted strategy assures that a steady flow of articles supports your multiple business goals. Best of all, you don’t have to wait long to see people and search engines responding to what youกve written. Thatกs bound to pay off, and keep paying off…

Does Your Brochure Pass the Test ? Part 1

Does Your Brochure Pass the Test ? Part 1

by: Brett Curry

Your prospects will decided if they want to read your brochure in the first 5 seconds they look at it. What kind of message are you communicating in that five seconds? Will you make a favorable impression with your prospect? Will you move your prospect closer to the sale?

There are really only two key elements that will determine how well your brochure is received by prospects. These two elements will ultimately make the difference in your brochure being a tool that makes you money, or just something else that costs you money.

What are those two allimportant elements: 1. the Image or look 2. the Message

This is part 1 in a twopart article. In part 1 we will discuss what you need to ask for from your printer to make sure that your brochure looks top notch.

Here are 5 things you should keep in mind when you are evaluating your layout and your printer.

1. Choose Offset Printing. Offset printing is a type of printing that causes the ink to become a part of the paper. Offset printing creates a rich, vibrant look that digital printing can’t touch. Offset printing isn’t all that common because good Offset printing presses cost in the millions of dollars.

2. Choose Thick Paper – preferably 100# Glossy. If your brochure is too thin or too lightweight it might appear cheap. You don’t want that impression to be transferred to your business. The most common paper weights are 70# and 80#. 100# is a little less common which makes it stick out. Plus, 100# feels heavy and highquality. Glossy paper takes the look of quality up a notch.

3. Add Aqueous Coating. While this isn’t the industry standard, aqueous coating adds a layer of style to your brochure. Plus it causes the colors to ขjumpข off the page so to speak. It makes the whites appear whiter, and so on. Ask your printer if they offer aqueous coating. If it doesn’t cost very much to upgrade, it’s worth it. There are a few printers out there that offer aqueous coating FREE.

4. Use Full Bleed. Full Bleed is a print term that simply means the colors run to the edge of the page. Some printers charge extra for full bleed, some don’t. If your brochure is not full bleed it will leave a border of white around the edges that looks a little amateurish.

5. Ensure a Consistent Look. Your brochure should fit into a well designed marketing campaign. It should have a similar look and message as your postcards, flyers, reports, business cards, etc.

In part 2 of this article we will discuss the all important issue of the message.

How To Make Your Website More Successful? (Part II

How To Make Your Website More Successful? (Part II)

by: Christoph Puetz

In part I of our series of how to make your website more successful we already showed you some important tricks to build a more successful website. This time we are going to expand the scope a little to further improve your website and to make it work harder for you on the Internet.

Outbound links: Search engines love to see outbound links every once in a while. It proves to a search engine that your website is related to a certain topic and industry. Make sure you use a keyword for the link and not just the plain URL. Linking to http://www.webhostingresourcekit.com is less valuable than linking to the same site as กWeb Hosting Helpก (with the same link underneath of course). The keywords here are กWeb Hosting Helpก.

Insite Cross Links: We’re not done with linking to other places yet. Insite Cross inks (links from one page of your website to another web page of your website) will be an important part of the future of your website. Imagine article กAก getting high feedback and many external people linking to it. This article page will receive a higher page rank than other pages of your website. This cross link will now share the page rank out to other web pages of your website and therefore eventually boosting the page rank of the page linked to.

Submit to Search Engines: Youกve built your website and are ready to go live. How will search engines find your new website? Unless you link to the new website from an existing website you will have to let search engines know about it. Submit the homepage to: Google, Altavista, WiseNut, DirectHit, and Hotbot (and all the others you know). Also submit the website to DMOZ. Iกd personally stay away from paid listings unless you think it is needed. Anyway now comes the tough part forget about the submissions. It might take a few weeks or months for a site to be spidered.

Web Server Logging / Website Tracking: To be able to work properly with your website you will need good logging tools. You want to know how many website visitors you get, where they come from, what pages they look at and how long they stay. A counter on your website does not do it. You need tools like Webalizer, AWStats, Urchin or Webtrends. If your web host does not provide any of the first 3 options (Webtrends is feebased) you should move to a new web host. Proper log file analysis is important to your success.
