The Art of Online Business Marketing

The Art of Online Business Marketing

by: Arthur

Marketing is a mind game where the advertiser seek to grad your attention with their advertisement.

Traditional advertising are via Television, Cinemas, Newspaper, Popular Magazines, Posters, Radios, Buses, Taxis etc.

Online Marketing via the Internet are Banners display, Text links, Email, FFA, Classified Ads, Search Engine, Pay Per Click Search Engine etc.

In order to understand more about the creature Marketing, it is best for you to start paying attention to the various form of advertisement that surrounds you wherever you are. Keep a little marketing note book with you and write down what attract your attention, why it attract you, how it influence your purchasing decision etc.

The concept of Marketing whether Traditional or Online is the same.

The challenge of all Online Marketer is to attract as many traffics to their sites as possible via the various means of Online Marketing Method.

There are no straight answer to successful marketing and you just have to keep learning and trying until you find a method that is suitable for you.

Many says that Banners are lousy and attract little clicks through but why does it still exists today. There are people who are successful in using Banners and those who are unsuccessful. A lots depend on the design of the banners. It is just like posters advertisement where you make used of colors, famous movies star, funny or interesting quote to attract attention.

For others, it may be Pay Per Click Search Engine. Pay Per Click Search Engine like Google Ads word provides you a constant flow of traffics if you make used of it wisely. You can start playing with it with an initial registration fees of 5.00. There are smart PPC expert who bids for certain keywords for 10 cents or lower while others bid it for 50 cents or higher. They do it by researching and bidding for less competitive keywords. They bring a constant flow of relevant traffics and sales by studying and researching on how people search. With PPC Search Engine, you don’t have to worry about the ever changing Search Engine Ranking algorithm anymore.

For example, Assuming you are selling Power Ranger related products, instead of the competitive expensive keywords Power Ranger, you can try different combination of less expensive keywords such as:

power ranger sports

power ranger song

free game power ranger

blue power ranger

power ranger white

As you can see, different people can be good at different Marketing method. There are no one size fit all method. It is all about trail and errors no matter which method you used.

Wishing you success in your Online Business Marketing.

Learn How To Diagnose Power Supply Problems

Learn How To Diagnose Power Supply Problems

by: Otis F Cooper

The Power Supply convertกs your regular household current into low DC voltage used by the computer. When this component fails, there is simply no activity going on wih your computer.Remember to do the easy troubleshooting first.Inspect the Power Supply for any damage.DoubleCheck all connections.

Learning how to check your power supply and how to replace it when needed can be a life saver if you’re a computer buff or in business with the trusted PC.Don’t take for granted the simple pleasure of turning on your PC and everything works just fine.

We turned on one of our computers recently and in about one hour,it just rebooted itself. And it continued doing so about 10 times a day until we found out the power supply was the culprit.Things to look for when your power supply is going bad or just dies on you are the following.

NO POWER TO THE COMPUTER

Here you must first check the wall outlet for power by connecting another device such as a radio or lamp to be sure power is present. If the computer is connected through a surge protector, check it as well.

If the wall out has power, check the power cable going to the PC to see if AC voltage is making its way to the system unit.Do this with the use of a multimeter.

If there is power, you will have to open the PC and check for power from the power supply to the motherboard.

When using a multimeter to check voltage,be sure you have a good ground for the black lead of the multimeter.

REBOOTING PROBLEMS

One main problem you may face with an ailing Power Supply is that it may reboot the computer without any warning. All information is lost and it seems as though this happens at the worst possible time.

Booting errors when the computer first startกs up is another indicator of this component going on the blink.

POWER DISTRIBUTION PROBLEMS

When the power supply begins to fail, you may receive power at one device and not another. For example, the Hard Drive may receive power but the CDROM Drive has nothing at all.

Another headache with would cause rebooting is the intermittent power going to the drives or the motherboard itself.Follow the steps below to check your power supply should you experience some of the above problems.

CHECKING THE POWER SUPPLY

If the wall outlet, and the power cord are good, make sure the connection at the motherboard is secure. Then you may have to face the fact that the power supply itself is bad.If you have a Multimeter you can test the power supply output before purchasing a new one.Simply follow these steps.

Turn off the PC,but do not unplug it,open the system unit. Set the multimeter to read DC volts in the next range higher than 12 volts.Locate a power connector similair to the hard drive,or cdrom drive connector that is unused and turn on the PC.

You can also unplug a drive connector and use it as well.Turn on the PC and insert the BLACK probe into the power connector on one of the BLACK wires.Touch the RED probe to the YELLOW wire on the power connector.

The multimeter reading should be +12 volts Now touch the RED probe to the RED wire and the reading should be +5 volts. If no readings or different readings occured, youกll have to replace the power supply. If the readings were correct, you should check the P8 or P9 connectors at the motherboard. These connectors may also be named P4 and P5.To check these connectors, perform the following…

Insert the BLACK probe into P8 at one of the BLACK wires. Insert the RED probe into the P8 connector at the RED wire. The reading on the multimeter should be +5 volts

Check the power going to the Motherboard connections by inserting the RED probe into P8 at the YELLOW wire and you should get +12 volts.Leave the BLACK wire touching the black wire at the P8 connector.Check the BLUE wire and the reading should be a 12 volts.

Now move the BLACK probe to the BLACK wire on the P9 connector.Test the WHITE wire by inserting the RED probe and the reading should be 5 volts.Check the RED wires on the P9 connector and you should get +5 volts on each red wire. You won’t get exactly 5 or 12 volts but the readings will be very close, such as 5.02 volts.

If the Power Supply is a couple of volts off,in either direction, such as when the RED wire should be reading 5 volts but it reads 8 volts,or if there are no readings, replace the power supply.

DO NOT remove the power supply from the system unit case when performing these tests.DO NOT perform these tests if you do not feel comfortable.Be sure to remove any and all electrical static buildup from your clothes and body BEFORE touching any parts inside the system unit. And NEVER open the power supply case for any reason, since high voltage may be present.

Do You Have Staying Power?

Do You Have Staying Power?

by: Nicholas Dixon

“If you are going through hell , keep on going” Sir Winston Churchill

Staying Power. Some of you may know that record by the late Barry White. On that track, he was talking about his love making abilities and his prowess at it.

That is not what this article is about. It is about that trait that sets successful people apart from the failures, whether it is in business or in marriage.

How does staying power relates to online marketing ? It is a fact that successful marketers have that ability. For them, it is simply a matter of sticking around when things don’t work out the way they want it to.

Staying Power.Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill and many other great men and women all had it.It was that ability which made them different from being simple dreamers and wishers.

They had to have it to make their dreams and aspirations become a reality. This is the kind of attitude that we all need to have. Some people are born that way and luckily for the rest of us, it can be learnt.

Staying power requires persistence, consistency and a “never say die” attitude. With practice one can develop their staying power in any area of life they are engaged.

If you are serious about making your business and personal endeavors survive the long haul, start by thinking about ways you can develop your staying power. It really works !

You don’t have to take my word for it.Next time you happen to see Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates or Arnold Schwarenegger ask them.Their answer would not be far from what I expected.

To your success and mine……. ,

Nicholas

NINE POWER WORDS TO กPUNCHก UP YOUR ADS

NINE POWER WORDS TO กPUNCHก UP YOUR ADS

by: Martin Cargill

As every professional politician and public relations man knows words have the power to entice, persuade and motivate people into a specific course of action.

There are certain words that I refer to as กPower Wordsก that I learned, back in the dawn of time, when the dinosaurs still roamed the earth.

For example, if I say to my daughter กclean up your room pleaseก I get a totally different reaction than when I say กclean up your room NOWก, even if both phrases are spoken in the same tone. When I use the word now, I know that she will clean up the mess, and that I have at least a 5050 chance that she will do an adequate job.

My first exposure to this กPowerก was at the hands of one of my mentors, now longsince dead, sad to say, who told me a story.

It seems that a trucker pulled into a roadside cafe in Amarillo, Texas and said to the waitress ก There must be a million rabbits out there. I swear Iกve just squashed a dozen.ก

Compare the reaction when the story goes: It seems a trucker pulled into a roadside cafe in Amarillo, Texas and said to the waitress ก Iกve just run over a bunnyก

In both cases a small change in wording provokes a different reaction.

Thatกs the กPowerกof words !!

When used in your advertising material, such words can be almost irresistible. Here are 9 กPower Wordsก for you to try out.

1…Secret (or littleknown) used either alone or together (littleknown secrets) are both กPower Wordsก that appeal to the curiosity of the reader. กWhat does he know that I don’tก Few people blame their lack of success on their own efforts (or lack of effort), so they are comforted by the thought that they are failing because they have been denied vital information.

2…System appeals to the desire for simplicity and lack of real effort required. If someone already has a system in place, กall I have to do is put my name on it and plug it in !!ก

3…New (or Improved) appeals to the sense of urgency. If something is NEW then you have to get it fast before everyone else does to maintain your competitive edge. Strangely a laundry product has advertised for many years that it was กNew and Improvedก. Itกs difficult to see how it could be both, at the same time, but it shows the power that both these words have that the advertiser decided to use them together, as reinforcement for each other.

4…Power is itself a กPower Wordก suggesting that if only the reader had the knowledge that you have, he/she would be able to accomplish anything.

5…Magic is almost interchangeable with power, but it also suggests that an objective can be reached without effort. This appeals to both the lazy (like me) and the impetuous who want to attain their goal immediately. There is a natural tendency to assume that any one who makes his living in Advertising and Promotion must know something that is hidden from the rest of the world. Some arcane formula like กABRACA DABRAก or กOpen Sesameก that magically transforms them into กgurusก or กprophetsก, that we must slavishly follow.

6…Immediate, of course suggests that something can be done instantly. This again appeals to the sense of urgency, and has a magiclike ring to it. Why wait have it NOW !!

7…Insider suggests that the writer has information that cannot be known to the world at large, therefore if you will only pay for this you can attain an edge on the rest of the competition.

8…FREE (note: this often appears as FR~E in ads because of the ISP filters that seem to abound today)this word included in any headline will increase acceptance of your message but make sure that when you say FR~E that you mean FR~E. If you attempt to charge for something that you have advertised as FR~E, you will lose all credibility.

9…YOU The reader is only interested in the potential benefit that he/she will receive from your product. The old advertising maxim is still valid กSell the sizzle not the steakก. Look carefully at your product and think of all the reasons that I, or anyone else would benefit by owning it.

For example, if you were selling big, gasguzzling cars, you would stress the comfort, luxury interiors, prestige, reliability and smooth riding capacity of the car.

If you were selling those cars that are so small the driver has to sit with his/her knees against their chin you would stress the fuel economy, zippy sporty ride, cornering and road handling ability of the car, affordable price and ease of parking.

At the end of each sales page, or large ad you should also stress your กguaranteeก(oops another กPower Word I should have titled this piece 10 Power Words. Ah well !). You will be accepting payment for your product exclusively through credit cards, and the vendors will reverse any credit to your account, if the customer complains.

It is far better to make a positive กMoney Back ( Another Power Word that makes 11. So sue me, I can’t count !!)Guaranteeก than to have a negative ก Iกll give you your money back if you holler loud enough ก. If you’re going to have to do it anyway get some extra (that makes 12) mileage out of the situation.

Iกm sorry that this article ran a little long, but you can consider the last 3 กPower Wordsก as a bonus (Oh no !! Thatกs 13), make it an added (we can’t end on 13 thatกs unlucky make it 14) bonus.

In closing, read as many of the ads that you see online as you can. Youกll see how experienced marketers use these powerful words to motivate their readers, and perhaps pick up some ideas, that I didn’t include.

All the best in your marketing efforts

Laptop Computer Extras for the Mobile Traveler

Laptop Computer Extras for the Mobile Traveler

by: John San Filippo

A laptop computer certainly provides you with an unprecedented level of freedom and mobility away from the office. However there are a few extras you might want to bring along on your laptop travels:
Extra 1: portable printer
If you travel a lot, you never know when you might need to commit one of your digital documents to paper.
Sure, you can probably find a Kinkoกs, or even the business center at your hotel, but the experienced business traveler knows you’re much better off when you’re not at someone elseกs mercy.
Extra 2: USB hub
If you need to connect to several external devices simultaneously, the one or two USB ports on your laptop may or may not be sufficient. If not, keep an inexpensive four port USB hub in your laptop case.
Extra 3: PC card token ring adapter
Ethernet is the industry standard for computer networking, however back in the 1970s IBM introduced a competing technology called Token Ring.
While Token Ring has all but faded from the mainstream, some hardcore IBMกers still use it.
If you’re going to be working in such an environment, youกll need a PC Card to connect to the network.
Extra 4: Foreign power kit
If you travel abroad, you’re bound to run into a wide variety of power schemes power schemes that aren’t compatible with your laptop.
When you’re away from the homeland, youกll need some sort of adapter/converter if you want to plug into a local wall outlet.
These are relatively inexpensive and can be easily found online.

Power Words And Phrases

Power Words And Phrases

by: Al Martinovic

I like to use power phrases when writing sales material. These power phrases add punch to a line or a paragraph and I usually use them to start off a sentence.

You can generally find alot of กpower phrasesก when reading good sales copy. I usually keep a notebook nearby so that whenever I come across a line or a phrase that I Iike in sales material, I write it down for possible future use.

They are also great for writers block too. When I am stuck in the middle of writing, Iกll usually refer to my power phrases, and the next thing I know, the sentences sometimes start writing themselves.

Some examples of the power phrases I use include:

กListen closely…ก

กAs you may already know…ก

กNow, I don’t know about you…ก

กWell, Iกve got news for you…ก

กLet me explain…ก

กAnd best of all…ก

กIn fact…ก

กHereกs the bottom line…ก

กQuite frankly…ก

กNow, I know what you’re thinking…ก

‘take a deep breathe and relax…ก

‘the answer is yes…ก

Power phrases can be used to grab and hold peopleกs attention so that they keep reading. Some may even call these กhypnoticก phrases.

Even single words can invoke a reaction in some people that can be used to add กpunchก to your sales material. I call these power words.

Some power words to use in your marketing include:

Free, Powerful, Incredible, Easy, Shocking, Cheap, Revealed, Best, Uncovered, Hidden, Proven, Results, Revolutionary, Profits, Fantastic, Inside, Learn, Enhance, Hottest, New, Improved, Unbelievable, Ultimate, Offer, Master, Scientific, Private, Breakthrough, Save, Guaranteed, Tricks, You, Love, Limited, Special, Secrets

You can use power words to add punch to a headline, sentence, a short ad, or whatever fancies you.

Those are just a few of the power words and phrases that I have collected over the years.

Do yourself a favor:

Another power phrase…?

No really… do yourself a favor:

Always keep a notebook nearby and look out for words or phrases that capture your attention in sales material. Then write it down. If it captured your attention, itกs sure to capture other peopleกs attention too.

And over time, youกll have plenty of power words and phrases to choose from when writing your sales material.

They sure make life alot easier…

And profitable too!

Youกve Got The Power, Why Aren’t You Promoting It?

Youกve Got The Power, Why Aren’t You Promoting It?

by: Martin Lemieux

Like all things, theft is theft, misery loves company, negative people are everywhere, business is sometimes bad, things go up and others go down.

If those are all true then knowledge is power right? Wrong, knowledge is only power if applied. So why is it that most of us only apply กcommercializedก marketing tactics and fail to utilize the little stuff that counts?

For instance, Google allows us to promote 2 urlกs, www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com

So ok. Nothing new…

Then why aren’t you promoting the power Google gave to you?

See thereกs some of us who know that adding a link to both urls within our sites is a powerful thing. But what most of us don’t know is that you can’t just simply add both urlกs and expect good results!

You can’t just want popcorn without poping the corn!

What you want to do is give 2 URLกs and 2 Key Phrases. Thatกs it, there it is! So if you promote your main page twice,

re: www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com

.. Then you want to give Google 2 key phrases for both urls seperately within your title tag.

Don’t stop there though, try utilizing both key phrases respectively within your description tag, alt tags, H1 tags and within a portion of your text.

Here are the results of your efforts:

So the next time google searches your site, it now has more food then before and you actually didn’t have to do too much. Your search terms have now doubled for 2 urls pointing to the same information.

Have fun with this and remember, search engines don’t like spam tactics and neither do your visitors, so play safe and stick to the rules!

Data Recovery

Data Recovery

by: Barry Stein

Every person who uses a personal computer will eventually face the challenge of data recovery. Computer hardware and software can be temperamental from time to time. Hard drives and other mechanical components of personal computers and servers do not last forever, and when they fail recovering your data can be difficult, time consuming and costly.

If you are working diligently away on a document or spreadsheet in Microsoft Office and the power goes out, you may still be able to recover the documents you were working on when the lights come back on. This type of data recovery is relatively easy and straightforward. Software manufacturers recognize that power outages are inevitable and unpredictable and most office applications incorporate what is known as autosave features. At set intervals, the documents you have open are saved to a cached file. They remain in that cached state and should be accessible once your power is restored. Simply opening Microsoft Word or Excel will usually bring these documents back. For instance, when you open Word after a power failure or a software error, you will be presented with a document followed by the word recovered in parentheses. This is the document you were working on at the most recent autosave point. You may still lose a couple minutes worth of work this way, but it sure beats having to go back and retype the entire document.

If the recovered document does not appear automatically, search your hard drive for files ending with tmp. Look for one created close to the time of the power failure or software error and open it. This is most likely the document you had open at the time. If this method of data recovery does not work, you may need to follow the steps listed below.

Of course not all data recovery is so easy and so straightforward. If you delete a file accidentally, it is a simple matter to recover it from the recycle bin. Once you empty the recycle bin, however, things become more difficult. The deleted file still resides on your computer somewhere, but the pointer that tells the program where to find the file is now gone. There are various software tools available that promise to help recover deleted files, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Some of the major players are Norton, McAfee and Computer Associates. There are a great many smaller vendors as well.

Even if all these products fail to recover your data, you may not be completely out of luck. Data recovery services specialize in recovering data from failed and corrupt hard drives. These data recovery services have tools and equipment not available to the general public.

Government and law enforcement forensic teams will often make use of these advanced data recovery techniques to investigate cases of computer crime. Businesses also will turn to a professional data recovery service to recover mission critical data from damaged hard drives.

It is important to choose a reputable firm any time you need to have data recovery services performed. The firm you choose should be able to provide references from previous clients. You should make sure to follow up with the references they provide.

The cost for the data recovery service will vary according to the type of equipment and the difficulty of the job. You should get several estimates to make sure you are paying a fair price for the service you receive.

3 Reasons to Tap into the Power of Publicity

3 Reasons to Tap into the Power of Publicity

by: JennaLyn Rounsaville Roman

Publicity is obtaining editorial coverage or features for your business. Publicity is getting your business reported as news. Examples of publicity are newspaper and magazine articles, radio and television interviews and Internet forums and much more. These are just a few reasons you should consider letting your business tap into the power of publicity.
1. Effective – Publicity has been proven to be 10 times more effective than traditional advertising. Your customers believe what they read in the newspaper or watch on the TV news because humans by nature believe what is reported to them as news.
2. Affordable – Obtaining publicity can cost as little as $0 dollars. Business owners can substitute a little time and imagination for money or hire publicity professionals, many of which have very affordable rates when compared to advertising.
3. 3rd Party Credibility – Having reporters write about your business in a news format gives your business 3rd party credibility that’s extremely valuable. Anyone can sing their own business’ praises, but getting respected people in the media to do it provides a type of credibility that ads and money just can’t buy.
There are numerous other reasons to use publicity. Next time you are looking for a new way to get the word out about your business, consider tapping into the power of publicity.

Why Laptops are Different than Desktops

Why Laptops are Different than Desktops

by: Bonnie Archer

Laptops are different from desktops in the these ways;

1. Power supply: As desktops can be plugged in an outlet in the wall (AC Power) so can laptops with an AC adapter. But how a laptop is different from a desktop is that it is portable because batteries can also power laptops. The batteries are rechargeable; lithium, nickelcadmium, or nickelmetal hydride.

2. Display: Also like desktops, laptops have some type of LCD display screen. Modern Laptops have 800 x 600 pixel resolution. This gives it a very clear screen and anything less should be avoided.

3. Input Devices: On a desktop computer you usually use a mouse and keyboard to enter data and navigate. With laptops keyboards are built in but since they are portable so they don’t have a mouse. Instead they have one of three input devices in place of the mouse. A trackball, rotating the ball allows you to move the cursor. A trackpoint allows you to push your finger over the point to move the cursor. Lastly, a laptop may have a touchpad that you move your finger across to move the cursor.

4. Docking Connections: Many laptops come with a docking connection to make it more comfortable to use at a desk. You just plug your laptop in and use it as a desktop. The docking station comes with many peripheral devices: full size computer monitor, full size keyboard and mouse, disk drives and printer.

Breathtaking Color Power!

Breathtaking Color Power!

by: Maricon Williams

Colors convey character, emotion and intention. You are what colors you choose. Thus, your choice of colors should reflect the message or feeling you to hope to convey to the viewer.

Red Red is hot color. It is an established color of love, urgency, courage, danger, passion, blood, intensity, aggression, and competition. It is best used as an accent color. This color does not usually blend well with greens or purples of the same intensity, so if you use red with these colors, modify the brightness or intensity.

Blue Blue is a color of peace, tranquility and wisdom. It also conveys honesty, truth, loyalty, power, coolness, health, harmony, and confidence. Blue is a safe choice for most uses, and goes well with the majority colors. Don’t use blue if your site is food or drink related, since there are hardly any blue foods and drinks.

Beige and Gray These are neutral colors. As neutrals, they can be combined with almost any color and still come across well. Both make for very readable backgrounds, but be sure to use glints of bright colors or the site will appear uninteresting. You can also accent beige or gray with dark colors. It will create an illustrious, professional look.

Black Black entails death, seriousness, solid strength, elegance, sophistication, rebellion, evil, power, and mystery. It can be powerful, aloof and intimidating. However, black is very useful in separating things such as graphic images. Black can make colors explode!

Yellow Yellow is the brightest of all colors and has the greatest illuminating power. It is a warm and cheerful color. In addition to cheerfulness, yellow can also convey caution, optimism, idealism, cowardice, and imagination. Too much yellow can be an eyesore. Be careful using yellow with greens and purples of the same intensity. It might tone down one or the other.

Green Green connotes youth, fertility, ecology, nature, health, growth, money, safety, healing, and food. However, to other viewers, it may connote envy, insects, and reptiles. Green can be well suited as a secondary or accent color.

Brown Brown implies simplicity, earthiness, comfort, durability, and stability. However, like the neutral grays and beiges, a site that is mostly brown can be very dull. However, a site that had a light brown/beige background, a rich brown secondary color, and bright or dark red accents can give the impression of being very professional.

When choosing colors for your web site. Choose wisely because colors have a larger impact on the viewers. To know its impact, try this test: Open your web site and write on a piece of paper as many words and images that you can think of. Now, have another person to do the same. After that, compare your notes. If you made correct color choices, the list should be almost impossible to tell apart.

About The Author

Maricon Williams

I love reading. Give me a book and Iกll finish it in one sitting. Reading is the chance to be transported to a different world and so is writing. Iกm more enthusiastic about writing however, since you can relay your ideas to someone else. I can only imagine that feeling when I hear a complete stranger talking about my ideas which read on an article somewhere. To relay my message to as many people is the same as touching people with music. Only mineกs less harmonic. I try to make up for it with the color I bring with words. And most of the time, it’s more than enough.
