How To Recognize Your Niche Marketing Agenda

How To Recognize Your Niche Marketing Agenda

by: Abe Cherian

Starting a business, whether itกs retail products or services, must establish their own กnicheก. It doesn’t matter how great your products or services is, how great your sales letter is or your headlines, offers or what a great price you’re offering. If you try to sell your products or services to the wrong market, thereกs a strong guarantee itกs not going to work.

What is a niche? A niche is a particular specialty in which a business or person finds they prosper. Niche strategy in marketing is to market to a small but lucrative portion of the market. The small size of the niche generally ensures efficient marketing efforts and few if any direct competitors.

On the other hand, if you take an average product or service, and maybe your ad copy is only medium grade, maybe your price is only medium grade, that Iกve actually seen these marketing campaigns go to the right targeted audience and pull a decent response. The point Iกm trying to make is, to help you understand the difference between the right target market and a good marketing campaign.

What can you do to make sure you get the right audience? You have to begin by knowing who your products and services actually appeal to. Then find the largest market that can actually buy your products or services or the best market that can afford to pay for your products or services.

You might find multiple markets. You don’t want to leave any markets out. You want to be sure you target a specific market tightly enough so you can appeal to their interest, but not so tightly that you don’t appeal to anyone at all.

If you have a product that appeals to multiple markets, you can develop multiple campaigns. If itกs a service business, that goes into the home, then you really appeal to many markets. A home owner that is a doctor, a homeowner that is a dentist, a homeowner that is a business owner, you can target to these specific people and treat them as a particular market.

One great way to get into a particular market is to find a professional that is already in that market or is already a customer of yours and get them to be a cheerleader for you. Ask them if they will endorse you. Usually they will if they like your products or services.

For example, hereกs a story about my good friend Janice, a letter she created.

Janice wanted to use her doctor as a reference for her business and she asked her doctor if she could write a letter from him to all of the other professionals in that market on their letterhead in their envelopes and send out that letter on top of one of his sales letters. Shockingly, Her doctor said yes.

Her letter read like this; กI don’t do this very often, but Iกve received such good service from Dr. Blevins, I thought the rest of you should know about this.ก And on with her message she explained the good service and at the end she left her business information.

The results were staggering and Janice Then gave her doctor a free gift. She bought Dr. Blevins a box of his letterheads being that she used theirs, and she sent her Doctor an organizer to put them in.

You see, what this does is it makes sure the envelope gets opened from her market because other doctors will open information on other doctors. Always give your niche some kind of position to help you increase your business.

Learn How To Identify Profitable Web Niches For Yo

Learn How To Identify Profitable Web Niches For Your Business!

by: Per Strandberg

Most get it wrong when they start an ebusiness! They start building a business on the web by picking the wrong market.

Many start by giving advice on how to start a home business or by marketing Internet marketing information. This is the wrong way to do it!

Or even worse, become trapped by the many business opportunity programs that are out there. Many of them are nothing more than pyramid scams in disguise.

Why do so many try to market Internet marketing products online? One reason is that this is a subject that people get interested in and they soon see themselves as experts in this field.

You find another reason when you look and examine Internet marketing materials. What have most of the marketing of these products in common?

The answer is that they are marketed by slick copywriters. The marketers want to promote their own products, so they naturally promote these products on their websites, newsletters and where ever they can.

Of course, they don’t tell you the truth! The harsh truth is that if you are a beginner in web business and start by promoting web marketing products, you will fail.

To start with, you don’t have the right experience and you don’t have the traffic that you need.

You are much better off, if you focus on web markets that are not as saturated by competitors as in the internet marketing field. One secret to successful Internet business is by find niche markets where people are spending money and the markets are not saturated.

So how do you find suitable web markets that is right for you? That will depend on how you plan to market. Do you plan to build an information theme site, mini sites, work with PayPerClick marketing or do you plan to make a product to sell on the Internet?

If you target information theme sites or mini sites, then you want to find web niches with little competition and you also want to identify web niches where the bid values on payperclick are relative high.

If you use PayPerClick promotion you might want to find niches with low PayPerClick bid values and a lot of traffic.

And if you want to try to a market product you have produced, you want to make sure that there is a market for the product. You also want to know if there is a need for the product and that people are spending money on products in this Internet market.

A final key point is to find niche markets that you have an interested in or at least have some knowledge in. It is much easier to work in a niche that you are interested in than in a niche that have no interest in at all.

Get In Touch With Your Competition © 2004

Get In Touch With Your Competition © 2004

by: Sonia Colon

We all know that competition is an ugly word but competitors are a fact of life in business. If your business can’t compete with other businesses, don’t start it. You have to have some type of an edge.
You may have an excellent product or service, but if everyone else is selling a product or service similar to yours, just how much of the market can you expect to capture?
You will have to learn everything there is to know about your competition and understand their marketing strategies.
The best way to research your competition is to locate those you consider the largest threat to your potential business. Take the time to make a note of and acquire a feel for how your competitors deals with their customers, then answer these questions:
What appeals to you most about their website, introduction, setup etc.?
How large of an inventory do they carry?
Are their products display eyecatching?
What is their Alexa, Google, Yahoo, and AOL ranking?
Are their testimonials positive?
Are their prices in line and competitive with yours?
What do they offer that you could not?
Do they offer discounts?
Do they offer a return policy?
Do they offer any special services, such as free delivery?
Which areas could do with some improvement and could you improve in these areas? Do they keep their online store uptodate?
What means of promotion do they use flyers, coupons, free gifts, etc.)?
Next, create a profile of each main competitor. Know how they advertise, why their customers shop there, what areas need improving, and how successfully you can expect to compete with them.
You may also develop ideas for improving and promoting your own business. Your success will lie in assessing and understanding your competitorกs strengths and weaknesses.
Evaluate and compare your own strengths and weaknesses to stay in touch with the competition and succeed in your business.

Getting Prospects – Keeping Customers

Getting Prospects – Keeping Customers

by: Julie Martin

Does it seem like your customer base is drying up into a trickle? It can be very difficult to attract new customers and keep them. We will explore several ways to go after new clientele and keep them coming back for more.

Purchasing Leads

This is an option that can strike fear into the heart of even the most seasoned Internet businessperson. You need to find new customers, but it is worth the risk of getting a list that is possibly outdated, or worse, full of customers who consider you a ruthless spammer? If you decide to purchase leads, make sure that the company who is providing them is a reputable, solid company that utilizes double optin features for its lists.

Mailing lists are similar traps for Internet businesses. It is not worth the money spent on acquiring new leads if all the potential customers do is hit their delete button.

The climate for email advertising is not conducive to effective sales right now. You would be best served, again, by purchasing a list that is compiled through double optin and targeted to a specific customer base.

Pay Per Click Advertising

This is a method of advertising for text and graphic ads that ensures you will only have to pay for the customers who actually click to go to your site. This is a great method of cost effective prospect gathering, but you will need to research the companies carefully before starting your ad campaign. There are several shady companies out there who will overcharge and under distribute your ad.

Ezine and Mailing List Prospects

An easy way to find new customers is to join one of the millions of electronic magazines that cover almost as many subjects. You can find one that is suited to your products and join. Take part in the discussion and quietly advertise your products through informative articles, or tasteful subject lines. Remember, nothing turns off potential customers more quickly than a hard sell or a see through ad campaign. Most ezines will not tolerate this, so check with the list manager or guidelines before you start advertising this way.

Keeping Customers

Now that you’ve collected a completely new batch of customers, how do plan to keep them? This can be the tricky part in running a successful business. A large percentage of your revenue can come from satisfied customers who not only keep coming back to you, but tell their friends about your store as well. Word of mouth advertising is priceless and it is important to make sure that it is positive word of mouth!

Maintaining customer relationships is one of the keys to repeat business. A casual followup email or an informative ezine that contains information on new products are great ways to stay in touch with your customers. You can also offer special discounts for returning clients and price breaks after they purchase a certain, set amount from you.

Providing what your clients need is another way to guarantee that they will come to you in the future. Try putting up a brief survey on your website to collect information on products they would like to see in your store, or areas that could use improvement.

A happy customer is one that will return. As they go through the process of purchasing an item from you, make sure that it is simple, and enjoyable for them. If you have to wade through ten pages to buy one simple item, chances are, you will go somewhere else in the future where the process is more streamlined.

Excellent customer service is the best way to keep customers happy. Try to answer all emails and inquiries promptly. Remember their names and what they like so that they feel that you actively care about them as a client. If there is a problem with an order, try to go above and beyond to make it right. The results will most likely be a customer who forgot all about the trouble they were caused and focused instead on your exemplary service and commitment.

5 Compelling Reasons to Choose a Wellness Opportun

5 Compelling Reasons to Choose a Wellness Opportunity

by: Priya Florence Shah

I actually have two separate online businesses

Selling wellness products and

Selling digital information products (eBooks)

Because I can look at things from both perspectives, I often tend to compare the two businesses from the point of view of the better opportunity.

But if I were asked to recommend a single business as the best way to make a living online, the Wellness Business would win hands down.

And no, I didn’t choose it because its easy. On the contrary, selling health supplements, vitamins and related products online is NOT easy.

Not only is there tremendous competition, but it simply can’t be done by working two hours a day, as is the common perception.

If you sell wellness products, you have to deal with REAL people. People with human needs and problems.

You must be available in person, or by phone, or at least by email, to clarify doubts, answer queries, be prompt and sensitive to your customersก needs and generally make your customer feel good about doing business with you.

You must also provide constant support, training and leadership to a growing organisation of distributors, and help them grow their business.

This can be extremely timeconsuming because few of these tasks lend themselves to complete automation.

A seller of digital products has it somewhat easier. (S)He need not even interact with customers, because everything from product delivery to answering customer queries can run on autopilot.

Digital product sellers can (and often are) literally sitting on a beach while their websites churn out profits.

Given these disadvantages, why would anyone still choose the Wellness industry?

The reason I believe is because ANYONE, regardless of their talent or creativity, can actually make a steady LIVING for a lifetime in the Wellness industry.

And of course, there are a few who even go on to become millionaires.

Here are the reasons why I think Health and Wellness should be the #1 Choice for Entrepreneurs online.

1. Health Products Fulfill a Basic Human Need

Health is a #1 concern for many people often more important than even sex (also a top seller online) or food.

The lack of health can make you feel… well… lousy. And most people will pay their bottom dollar if they can find something that alleviates their pain or discomfort.

To put it more plainly, NOT buying an eBook will not make much difference to your state of mind or body. But not taking your prescription medication can make you feel very bad indeed.

2. Health Products are Consumable

Unlike digital products that can only be sold ONCE to a customer, vitamins, supplements and prescriptions require monthly reorders or autoships.

Once people start using them and benefiting, more often than not, they will continue to use them.

If you treat your customers right, they will buy from you month after month, providing you with regular commissions and a more or less stable source of income.

Thereกs usually no need to keep selling to them again and again (barring the obligatory seasonal promotions).

If the products meet their requirements and you give them a good deal and great service, they will give you repeat business for a long time to come.

3. Your Income Grows Exponentially

When selling a digital product (as an owner or an affiliate), your potential for future income actually DECREASES with every sale you make.

Unless you are among the few top marketers who can churn out a new product every month, or can earn more on backend commissions, your potential for income will always be limited by your creativity.

In contrast, because most wellness opportunities also involve building an organisation, every product sale actually INCREASES your potential for future income, by growing your organisation of customers and potential distributors purchasing every month.

If you help your downline earn a regular income, few will quit the business they have built so earnestly. Again YOU benefit from the RESIDUAL commissions that the organisation provides.

4. Wellness Opportunities have a High FeelGood Factor

One of the main reasons that I suspect people stick around in the wellness industry is the feelgood factor. It can really make your day when someone calls or writes, telling you how wonderful your products made them feel. Or how it gave them their life back. 🙂

Even more than making money, the feeling that you have helped another person feel better is always a strong motivator in working your business.

Iกve no doubt it feels good when someone who purchased your eBook writes to tell you how it helped them succeed. But I can bet it comes nowhere near the feeling you get when you help someone beat a lifethreatening illness or conquer their pain.

5. The Need for Wellness Only Increases with Age

As we grow older, we want to work less and enjoy life more. We also want to live healthier lives and enjoy enhanced community interaction.

Wellness opportunities are ideally suited to seniors because they have the potential to fulfill all their needs, ranging from financial security to improved health and personal interaction.

Lastly, working a wellness opportunity empowers you to take steps to improve your own health and wellbeing.

And do I even need to reiterate the oftrepeated quote that it will be the next Trillion Dollar Industry?

Learn The Five Key Steps To Getting Free Publicity

Learn The Five Key Steps To Getting Free Publicity

by: Dianne Beiermann

For many of us, the idea of getting free publicity can be a confusing and daunting task. So why do it? Because free publicity really works and if you are looking for ways to attract new customers to your internet business, free publicity is by far one of the best ways to do it. I am going to share with you five key steps to getting free publicity for your products. They go as follows:

1) Website Focus: Make sure your site is focused on a specific category of products. I cannot stress this enough. The editors will often check to see if your site features products that are in the same category as your product press release. This is one of the key ways you can get free publicity for your products. Because when you send out a press release on a new product, the editors will check your site to make sure that you offer similar products. Once they see that you offer a wide range of products in this same category, you will greatly improve your chances for getting free publicity for your products and website.

2) Target the right magazines for your products: I have talked to many people who are tempted to send out their press releases to every magazine available. I strongly advise against doing this. It is simply not effective and can even upset the editors when you send them information not related to their audience. It also reduces your chances of getting in the magazines if you are sending out press releases to every magazine category. The key is to stick with the most targeted magazines for your products and only email them with your product announcements.

3) Be consistent and patient while emailing the editors: it is very important to be consistent when you email the editors. Try to introduce a new product on a monthly to bimonthly basis to the editors of the magazines. If you do it on a consistent basis before you know it, one of your products could be picked up in one of the magazines. It is also important to be patient with the process. You may not here anything for a few months and then all of a sudden you will find out that a magazine picked up your press release and is running it. On average it takes print magazines a month to three months to print your press release. For online magazines you could have your press release picked up within days or weeks. That is why it is important to target both.

4) Be prompt to an editor’s request: Be prepared when the editors contact you. Many times an editor will want to contact you and ask some basic questions about your company. Another reason they might contact you would be to include your product in their next issue.

When this happens the editor will ask you for a 300 dpi photo of your product to be emailed to them so they can put it in the magazine. Through the years of doing email press releases, I have learned to contact my suppliers before I send out a press release and ask them for a 300 dpi photo. I keep the photo(s) on file in a computer file folder marked ขeditor’s photos.ข They are easy to retrieve, and since I already requested the picture ahead of time, I can just retrieve it from my file and send it to the editor within minutes of the request.

5) Personalize the Press Release

Whenever possible find ways to personalize the press release. Here is a simple technique you can use: Address the email to the specific editor of the magazine. Instead of writing: ‘to the editors of the magazineก Take the extra step of searching the magazine’s website for the name of the editor and address them accordingly. Internet Marketing In A Room FULL Of Naked Men!

Internet Marketing In A Room FULL Of Naked Men!

by: Willie Crawford

NO, thatกs not one of my secret dreams 🙂 Itกs an observation that you need to make. Years ago, I read Harvey MacKayกs fantastic bestseller, Beware The Naked Man Who Offers You His Shirt. I really enjoyed the book and even sent Harvey a note. He sent me an autographed copy of his book กSwim With The Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive.ก Itกs one of my most prized possessions but back to the naked man…

When you surf the various websites offering advice and information products teaching you how to earn an online income, it becomes glaringly obvious that many people who created these products haven’t done what they teach! They are in effect, กnaked men offering you their shirts.ก

Anyone just starting out online can understand why this happens. If you put up a website on making money online, and you admit that you haven’t made any yet, people will realize that you have no useful advice to pass on. To avoid this consequence, beginners often กfake it, until they make it.ก

One of the reasons many online marketers never กmake itก in the first place is because they ARE following the advice of กnaked men.ก They are absorbing, believing, and then reteaching the conventional wisdom so prevalently shared in the internet marketing arena. The consequence is that not only does the creator of the info product fail, but so do all of his mislead followers.

We have two problems within this situation. The first is, กHow does a beginner establish himself as an expert if he has achieved no major online marketing success?ก The answer is that he creates a product in an area that he IS an expert in or that he has very thoroughly researched.

The beginner can also very easily create a product by interviewing or partnering with someone possessing the knowledge or skills he lacks. I sort of touched upon this in another article I wrote entitled, กDon’t Pretend To Be An Expert, Become One.ก That article is available on my website at:

http://williecrawford.com/articles.html

The second problem is in knowing who is genuine and who hasn’t really learned the ropes yet. My advice to many of my clients is to fully check out anyone before following their advice. Simply go to any major search engine and enter their domain or their name. Visit many, MANY of the sites that are listed as featuring something related to this socalled expert. This will give you a very good feel for who you are really dealing with.

If sites about them contain testimonials, contact some of the people providing the testimonial… especially if something doesn’t quite กfeel right.ก Thatกs right… Iกm advising you to trust your instincts.

Another way to easily check out someone is by using a website called ‘the Way Back Machine.ก This website visits sites scattered across the internet and takes a snapshot of them. So if someone tells you that theyกve been in business for 5 years and you see that their only website is barely a year old, run away very fast and don’t look back!

The way back machine can be found at: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

If you enter my url, http://williecrawford.com in the search box, you will see that it offers snapshots of how sad this website looked beginning in 1998. Prior to that time, all of my websites were selfreplicated websites offered by various affiliates programs, and websites built on free hosts such as FreeYellow, Angelfire, Hypermart, Webspawner, and about 30 others 🙂

To digress just a little, I purchased my own domain name when someone responded to one of my posts in Links Exchange Digest insisting that I would have a lot more credibility if I got my own domain name AND ditched the Hotmail account. I kept websites on free hosts for several more years, but finally started really listening. People were telling me that using a free hosting company… building and promoting their domain, was just bad business. When I listened and took their advice, thatกs when things REALLY took off for me.

Iกve just pointed out to you a way to avoid the naked man look. If you are a beginner, get you own domain… one with a url that is easy to remember and that suggests what your business is all about. My domain name, WillieCrawford.com was a poor choice in many ways, but over the years it has developed a very strong brand. My second flagship domain, Chitterlings.com, was a better choice since it centered around กsoul foodก and the name was easy to remember to anyone familiar with that category of cooking.

Another way for beginners to avoid pretending to be something that you are not, and build online credibility, is simply to market other peopleกs products. If you want a higher than normal commission either approach them about joint ventures, or obtain reprint rights to indemand products. Don’t waste your time and resources promoting products that there is no demand for. Many reprint rights that are offered for free are priced that way because the owner of the product couldn’t sell them 🙂

The benefit of obtaining products that are proven sellers through reprint rights is that you often get a tested website that will generate a steady income for you if you just drive traffic to it. Itกs really easy, but again, you have to make sure that the product is one that is worth the effort. The criteria that I use and suggest you use is, ask yourself if you would purchase the product at the price you plan on offering it for. Also read the template website being offered and notice whether or not it gets you really pumped up. If not, look elsewhere.

I do recommend that you eventually develop your own product or service. However, that may take some time. In the interim you need to establish a professional business thatกs built on quality and integrity. Avoid coming across as a fake or กnaked man.ก Also beware of those who have to fake it until they make it. You know and appreciate that we all had to start somewhere. Most of us could not afford to buy a huge, thriving web business, so we had to start from meager beginning. Just look at my websites in The Way Back Machine for proof of that 🙂
