Ebook Review: How to Write and Publish Your Own eB

Ebook Review: How to Write and Publish Your Own eBook in as little as 7 days

by: Andy George

Jim Edwards and Joe Vitale who are both well known in the Internet online industry wrote this eBook. The 2004 version of this book is 206 pages long though it should be mentioned that less than 100 pages are concentrated on the theme of the eBook whereas the rest of the eBook involves interviews with various successful eBook authors (in the eyes of Edwards and Vitale) and bonus reports.

I believe that Edwards and Vitale were wrong to follow this approach since when one tries to overkill with respect to information, the result is opposite to the one intended since the reader may be confused even more and in my opinion the eBook would have been more effective if it was shorter and did not include the interviews with these authors whose approaches were different. Perhaps Vitale and Edwards should have sold the interviews by the eBook experts as a separate eBook.

The 7day eBook was written in an unorthodox style in that it was written in a ขchattyข style rather than in a formal manner. To be fair to the authors this did help in maintaining the interest of the reader.

The content of the eBook contained some very useful aspects such as:

Distinguishing between a successful and failure formula for an eBook.

Tips for selecting a topic for an eBook

How to write the eBook in 7 days – though I think this target may be ambitious in practice the methodology mentioned by the authors is worth considering.

Various tips on how to publish the eBook.

The price of the eBook is in my opinion reasonable value considering the money that can be saved by reading this eBook and the valuable links that can be obtained from the eBook. But I felt at times that the authors over elaborated and could have been more concise in their writing.

Overall I believe that a purchase of the eBook for a price under $30 is worth buying despite its limitations.

What to Publish on Your Website: Content Developme

What to Publish on Your Website: Content Development

by: John Simms

Many businesses want a simple website where they tell people what their business is about, some information on the products they offer and a means of contacting them.

However, content is vital in the growth of your Internet presence. Information is your asset and all you need to produce it is the knowledge you attain over time.

For some, they simply don’t know where to start. Here are some things to consider that could lead you to providing great content and a valueadding website.

1. Write what you know

Knowledge is power. Post articles to your website that show that you are well informed in your industry. If you can position yourself as an expert in your industry you can boost perceived credibility of your business on the whole.

2. Entertain

Everyone likes to be entertained.

For example, if you are marketing African tours, you might publish photo galleries or post stories on the African people, travel tips, the climate, etc.

3. About Your Business

Are people interested in the current happenings in your business? Post news items on your website. Eg. ขNew branch in Gautengข

4. About Your Product

What do your customers often ask you about? What are their uncertainties? If you offer a ขcomplexข product, which requires much learning on the part of the consumer, a website is a great place to teach them! This in mind, you might not want to be too technical in your copy – tell them about the benefits, not the features.

A great way to clarify uncertainties is to publish a ขFrequently Asked Questionsข or a ขQ&Aข section.

5. Back to the Plan

Take a look at your marketing and / or business plan – what goals are you trying to achieve and how are you trying to position yourself in the market place?

6. Watch your competition

6.1. What are competitors offering through their website that you are not?

6.1.1. Determine why they publish this content, then think of ways that you can improve it and use it on your website. Don’t copy – enhance.

6.2. What are you offering on your website that competitors are not

This raises two questions:

6.2.1. Is the information you offer really satisfying? Does it need to be there?

6.2.2. And, if the information does give you a kind of competitive advantage, how can you capitalize on that?

7. User Behaviour

Consider your Internet market – what do they do on the Internet.

7.1. Do they like to communicate with other Internet users about your industry? Consider having a forum on your website where you can allow website visitors to do this

Great Response by Auto Responder

Great Response by Auto Responder

by: Hans Peter Oswald

1. Collect leads with your autoresponder. You will get an email digest of everyoneกs email addresses who requests information from your autoresponder.
2. Publish a price list of all the products and services that you offer. You could also include order forms, product descriptions, and other sales material.
3. Publish free reports in autoresponder format. The reports should be related to your business or web site. Giving away free stuff will quickly increase your traffic. Example: You get a report about eudomains at [email protected]
4. Collect vital customer satisfaction information by publishing a survey in autoresponder format. This type of information will help you serve them better.
5. Instead of answering every customer question thatกs emailed to you, publish ก Frequently Ask Questionsก in autoresponder format. This will save time and money.
6. You could publish your testimonials or endorsements in autoresponder format if you don’t have the room in your ad copy. Itกs more effective to include all of them.
7. Provide back issues of your ezine archives in auto responder format. This will give your subscribers and web site visitors easy access to them.
8. Publish your entire web site in autoresponder format. Sometimes visitors don’t have enough time read your entire site. They could print it out and read it offline.
9. You could offer your ebook in autoresponder format. Your visitors won’t have to download it or have the software to read it right away.
10. You could publish the terms and conditions to any business transactions in autoresponder format. This could include return policies, purchases, refunds etc.
11. You get free autoresponders at superresponder.com and royalautoresponder.com. Every mail comes with an ad of these companies. You can ask for a list with paid autoresponders with an email to [email protected].

Marketing and the Hired Guerrilla

Marketing and the Hired Guerrilla

by: ClaireJean Korzenewski

It’s a jungle out there, so know and use your guerrilla marketing tactics! Jay Conrad Levinson wrote the book that started it all, the popular guerrilla marketing series. He has compiled a list of 100 tactics – most of them fr*ee – that savvy business leaders use.

One increasingly popular – and profitable – tactic on Levinson’s list is the informative article. Articles are not ads. Articles are written to inform, to educate, and to help people solve problems. Articles you publish, online or off, can help you achieve several worthwhile marketing goals.

ARTICLES ESTABLISH YOUR CREDIBILITY

It is well accepted that consumer confidence is the number one factor affecting purchasing decisions. A potential client who does not trust you will not call you to place an order. He will not access your website and click to purchase. He will not talk to your sales rep.

Through articles you write, you can gain consumer confidence by demonstrating to readers that you understand their needs and that you have the knowledge and ability to deliver what they want.

You feel their pain and can meet their needs, competently and efficiently.

When you communicate this in articles you write, you establish your credibility.

Now when customers need services you provide, they have the confidence to click through to your website, to pick up the phone, or to walk into your store.

ARTICLES POSITION YOU AS THE EXPERT

If you run a business, you are an expert.

You can demonstrate your expertise by sharing your knowledge, experience, and insights with potential clients through your articles. By doing so, you position yourself as the expert.

Now as the credible expert you are the one to go to when it’s time to make a purchase.

ARTICLES ARE MORE EFFECTIVE THAN ADS

Ads are good for grabbing attention, but well written articles can be much more effective since articles, as mentioned, establish your credibility and your expertise.

ARTICLES ARE LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ADS

Articles can be published in traditional print media, including newspapers and trade magazines, or be widely published and read online in optin ezines or newsletters like the ones you read. Or, better yet, the ones your clients read.

Since your articles can provide interesting content for their publications, many ezine and print editors will want to publish them at no cost to you. More effective, less expensive just what every guerrilla needs.

ARTICLES CAN INCREASE YOUR WEB TRAFFIC, YOUR CLIENT BASE, AND YOUR INCOME

You can learn how to easily publish articles you write and begin to reach a wide audience quickly, especially when you publish electronically. Your helpful articles motivate readers to contact you. Your resource box or bio at the end tells them how to reach you and gives them the links to do so.

Several entrepreneurs who have published a number of articles have begun to get 100 new visitors to their websites each week. Those are targeted visitors. Visitors who chose to click through to their site for a reason for more information, for a gift offer, or to make a purchase.

With your effectively designed web site, you can convert your new visitors into new clients. You should provide some motivation for people to leave you their contact information. Perhaps they could request one of your fr*ee offers. That could be an ebook or simply another article or special report you have prepared.

Or ask them a question they’ll want to respond to. Since you want to understand your customers needs anyway ask, ขWhat are your biggest challenges/obstacles/complaints with…ข marketing, writing, investing, or whatever your field of expertise. Better yet, give them a gift for answering the question.

ALL RIGHT! I’M CONVINCED

All effective marketing plans must be implemented and must be ongoing. In other words, you’ve got to start and stick with it. Levinson, the original guerrilla marketer, says this is an area where many businesses drop the ball. They quit working their plan. He says all marketing works, you’ve just got to give it enough time.

PLAN YOUR WORK, WORK YOUR PLAN

Work into your calendar a time slot for writing an article at least once a month. You should expect to spend 4 to 8 hours writing and submitting a 400 to 1000 word article.

This may seem like a large commitment, but the return on your time investment could be dozens or even hundreds of targeted new contacts each week.

You can learn more about preparing and submitting articles from several websites by searching online for ‘article writing.’ Opening Doors with Your Articles (at http://www.charliecook.net/) is a helpful ebook written by Charlie Cook explaining the process from writing to formatting to submitting articles.

By searching online for ‘article announce,’ you can find several sites that make articles you post available to ezine and website editors who are seeking content for their publications.

Yahoo has half a dozen sites used by hundreds of editors and writers. You might begin with http://groups.yahoo.com/group/article_announce/.

DO WHAT YOU DO BEST

If you feel you need to improve your writing skills, you can read books, subscribe to email courses, or study writers’ websites.

On the other hand, you need to determine the best use of your time. If writing articles takes energy away from doing what you do best, then maybe you should…

HIRE A GUERRILLA!

Smart marketers don’t reject an outstanding marketing tactic just because it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, or outside their realm of expertise. They find a way to get the job done.

Levinson finds that most business owners are aware of only 5 to 10 of his guerrilla marketing tactics and possibly only use 3 of them. But he says guerrillas are aware of all 100 tactics and use about 40 of them.

You can read Levinson’s 100 tactics at http://gmarketingcoach.com/weapons.htm. Over half of these tactics cost nothing, but others are outsourced.

Just like many business owners outsource their website design, their advertising campaigns, or the manufacture of their signs, you can outsource your article writing needs. A search for ‘freelance writer’ or ‘copywriter’ turns up links to individuals or to services that connect buyers to writers.

Promote your business like a guerrilla. There’s always more than one way to get a job done. In fact, Levinson tells us that there are at least 100 ways.

Publishing articles in ezines or in print is one tactic that needs to be in your arsenal. So consistently write and publish your articles or hire your own guerrilla and get the job done!

PERMISSIONS TO REPUBLISH: This article may be republished in its entirety free of charge, electronically or in print, provided it appears with the included copyright and author’s resource box with live website link. How to Reel in Website Visitors by Building Your O

How to Reel in Website Visitors by Building Your Own Blog

by: Jean Hanson

I know, I know, blog this…blog that. Seems like everyone is on the blogging bandwagon these days! I admit that Iกve been skeptical too, but Iกve seen the results and am convinced that blogs really do help to create more web site traffic.

So why does blogging work to reel in web site visitors? Read on…

1. Search engines LOVE blogs. Blogs are usually focused on a particular niche, so they have lots of subjectspecific content thatกs wellorganized. This makes it easy for the spiders to read the content because thereกs usually less graphics, scripts, flash, etc.

2. Content tends to be updated more frequently than web sites, which the search engines love. If content doesn’t change very often, they tend to visit less often. Search engines also like that there are lots of links because they index sites by following the links.

3. Thereกs no special programming or HTML skills needed so if you love to write and are an expert in your field, you can be up and running in no time. Before you know it, youกll have lots of web site visitors reading your articles with anticipation.

4. Subjectspecific articles generate tons of traffic! Letกs face it. Many of us publish Ezines in order to get people to visit our web sites, and if we publish the articles on our website, we gain an even better chance of people finding us.

Blogs accomplish the same thing, only itกs much easier to write your article and publish it immediately than it is to write content for an Ezine, format it, test it, and then publish it, only to find out that half of the emails were blocked by spam filters!

5. Increase your subscriber list. You can subscribe to blogs in the same way you subscribe to Ezines. Simply sign up and youกll receive notices when the content has been updated. Plus, the notices don’t contain HTML, which means that the notification will be more likely to get past the spam filters.

6. Itกs cheap! Many services like Blogger offer it for free. Why spend tons of money creating the perfect web site that needs lots of search engine optimization when you can be up and running with your own blog for free, or at a very small monthly charge? What an inexpensive way of generating traffic!

There you have it. Six good reasons to build your own blog. Now what are you waiting for?

When Is An Ad Not An Ad?

When Is An Ad Not An Ad?

by: Stuart Reid

One marketing technique used by advertisers old and new is to conceal sales pages as something else.

The Infomercial, for example, extends the TV Advertisment into something that prentends to be an informative program.

Likewise, newspaper and magazine advertisments often mimic the style of news reports or editorials.

In Internet Marketing we can also make use of this technique, in a number of ways.

The most common method is to write an article. The article provides useful and interesting information yet also sells a product.

I don’t just mean the resourcebox here. You can submit a blatantly advertising article to an ezine if you like, but you can’t expect them to publish it. If however you paid for it as an ad, they would be likely to publish it for you. Unfortunately youกll hit a snag.

This problem is similar to the newspaper ads mentioned above. Often, in newspapers, the ad has a nice ‘this is an Advertismentก line tagged to the top! Pretty much ruins itกs effectiveness, right?

The same thing happens in ezine advertising. Youกll either get the article/ad stated as such in the subject line or at the top of the email body. Publishers have to do this to protect themselves, but it instantly marks out your article as an ad.

There are alternatives. If you enter into an agreement with a publisher, i.e. a Joint Venture, they may print your article as you provide it without boxing it out as an ad. Again this happens in the newspaper world often without you realising OR tagges as an กAdvertising Featureก.

Another way is to disguise your article. Don’t blatantly sell in the article, but presell. Excite your reader to the possibilities of whatever your article is selling without actually mentioning it. Then the link in your resource box would lead to a site that does the rest.

You of course get the added benefit of the fact that articles are essentially free to publish 🙂

The last method we can use is `fake` websites. These sites are again focused on selling a product but disguised as a news report, article, resource or similar. Often that would involve selling behind the scenes via email (with email capture at the site). Or the site could provide free information and a problem, and a (paid) way to eleminate the problem.

You can see this in action at Virus Killer, AdWare, Evidence Eliminator sites and similar. The site looks like a กWarning! Your Computer Is Infected!ก page, or perhaps provides a report on the latest viruses and offers a (sometimes free) way to fix them.

These tehniques are very useful in selling anything online and take advantage of humans basic emotions. You are more likely to believe a voice of authority, or what appears to be!

How To Blog, And Why You Should!

How To Blog, And Why You Should!

by: Stuart Reid

First, a quick definition for those who do not know what a Blog is. Quite simply, itกs a Web Log. In other words, a regularly updated page of your thoughts, ideas, links whatever.

Itกs very easy to publish a Blog these days and today Iกm going to show you how in a few easy steps. Don’t worry all the sites, services and tools involved are frกee.

Before we go ahead I should first explain why a Blog is so usefull. A Blog provides a number of benefits to you and your site and all for very little effort.

1. A Blog will add valuable content to your site. This in turn increases repeat visitors and increases the frequency the Google Page Bot (and therefore how often your site listings are updated) will visit.

2. A Blog can be updated very quickly (especially using the technique I show you below). Itกs much faster to update than editing your Web Page or sending out an email.

3. Blogs can be delivered as RSS Feeds and this means a user can download software to have your Blog delivered direct to their desktop as and when itกs updated. You DO NOT have to pay for sites such as Quikonnex or the new Cory Rudl software. RSS Feeds are NOT new and you shouldn’t have to pay for what is essentially a frกee technology!

Do you now believe you should publish a Blog? If you do, just read on, and see how easy it is!

First join Blogger.Com this is a popular Blog service (there are others) that makes the whole process as simple as possible. You just register your details and a title for your Blog.

Why choose Blogger? First, the Google Toolbar has a กBlog Thisก button that makes updating your Blog childs play. Click the button, and you can publish direct into your Blog immediately including a link to the website you’re currently on!

Second, Blogger will add you itกs directory and to a notification service AND they will let you publish to their site, though you can set FTP settings to publish to a page at your own domain. For now weกll publish to Bloggers host service กBlogSpotก since they are fast and the only thing they add is one banner at the top. You may also get featured as one of Bloggers daily blogs and gain massive traffic.

Blogger also has a range of templates and you can even edit these directly to personalise your Blog, right down to adding ads or links to your own site (Tip: include a navigation bar). Blogger will also archive your Blog and insert links to your archived months.

Blogger will create a Blog for you in a few steps. At the Blogger.Com main page click on กStart Nowก at the top. Enter your Username, Password and Name and away you go.

Once you have your account validated log in and create a new Blog. This is just as simple as creating a user account. Enter a Title and Description, and leave it as a กPublicก Blog. Then select host at BlogSpot. Create a subdomain for your BlogSpot then select a template. You can create your own templates but that requires extensive HTML knowledge.

Thatกs it! You have an account and a Blog setup. There are other settings to explore. You can set กPing Weblogsก to YES in the Settings/Publishing option to notify Weblogs whenever you publish. You can also set กShow Title Fieldก and กEmailก options to provide Titles to your Blog Entries and email a copy of your entries to you. Everything else is OK at as it is.

With your Blog at BlogSpot and your Google Toolbar installed

Go to > http://toolbar.google.com snipsnip http://www.atomenabled.org/everyone/atomenabled/index.php?c=5

Thatกs a big list, so just use the program selected below if you want to get started with a quick and easy client right away.

Tristana Reader > http://www.charlwood.com/tristana http://netpreneurnow.blogspot.com/atom.xml snipsnipBlogger itself has a lot of help if you need it, so itกs time for me to sign off. Happy Blogging!

Conceptualize, Build and Publish a Web site

Conceptualize, Build and Publish a Web site

by: Sushanth Bastawade

Conceptualize, Build and Publish a Web site Whatกs required to get started

All of us knowingly or unknowingly, use a standard decision making process in our daytoday lives. The very first step of this process is to decide whether TO DO or NOT TO DO. If the choice is TO DO, we think of the various ways and means of attaining our objective/s, compare their pros & cons and take a final stand.

The aim of this write up is to make you aware of the resources that are needed to achieve your TO DO objective. The TO DO objective is to conceptualize, build and publish your web site. The first step is to decide what you want from your web site. Do you want a site that your near and dear ones can visit from time to time (I assume you are far away from them.) or do you want a site that sells a product, service, brand or image? Whatever the purpose of your web site, the absolute essentials to have a site up and running are as below:

The 5 Essentials: Spare Time You must have lot of spare time at your disposal. So if you are a house maker whose kids have grown up, a worker who has just been shown the pink slip or college student on vacation then time shouldn’t be a problem for you. Those hard pressed for time can contract the web page design work to a professional web master or use a Site Creation tool.

HTML Knowledge HTML is NOT a programming language. Its basics can be mastered within a month and the learning curve is not too steep. The fact that anyone can learn HTML and create Web pages is the reason why the Internet is so popular and has such varied content. Learn the HTML tags and how to use them. Skip complex topics like frames, style sheets, CGI, JavaScript. Buy a good book on HTML. It will teach HTML and also give links to various online HTML resource sites.

HTML Page & Site Creation Tools The main reason for using these tools is to speed up the process of page / site creation. However, most of the tools do not produce correct HTML and editing by hand is necessary. Your HTML book will provide reviews of these tools and links to their web sites. If you know HTML and plan to have 56 web pages in your site, a rudimentary editor like Netscape Composer will also suffice. For managing a site with huge number of pages you will need to use a Site Creation Tool.

Make provisions for a fast Internet connection and a room where you can work without distractions.

Find an ISP (Internet Service Provider) or IPP (Internet Presence Provider) i.e. a web hosting company, to host your web site. Crystallize a Concept: With the 5 main things taken care of, you should be ready for Conceptualization. Some of you will already have a concept or idea for your site, but take a moment and download AffMasters.pdf course from http://affmasters.sitesell.com/ (copy & paste the link in you browser and hit enter). The AffMasters.pdf is free to download. Please read page 35 ก Day 2 Brainstorm Your Site Concept ก. I am sure that you will appreciate the authors’ approach and find the most suitable concept for your site. This course also gives a few pointers about things to avoid in a web site. Make notes and use them as you build your site.

Build your Site: Once you have arrived at a concept, use your HTML Knowledge, HTML Page Creation Tools and readymade Templates to build the web pages. Edit the HTML to make the visual just right. Load the pages with content. Keep in mind that Content is King. Keep the page design simple yet elegant. You should Value Content over flashiness. Don’t use too much graphics, if you do the page will take time to load. Impatient surfers might close their browsers and move on.

Publish your Site: To enable surfers to view your web site, you must publish your pages to a server that is connected to the Internet i.e. a web server. When you publish a page to a web server, you upload that page on to the web server. You can upload the pages on the server of an ISP (Internet Service Provider) or on the server of an IPP (Internet Presence Provider) i.e. a web hosting company. Usually it is better to use an IPP because

An IPP offers more web space (20 MB free) than an ISP (5MB).

IPPs usually allow CGI on their servers.

To upload web pages to an ISP server a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client is required. Some IPPs (e.g. NetFirms) also require FTP client to upload files to their servers. However there are IPPs (e.g. FreeServers) that allow you to upload your files directly to their servers without FTP. You should prefer the IPPs that do not require an FTP client because it is much convenient and quicker to upload your files using a Site Manager provided by the hosting company.

Where to Post and Read Articles Online

Where to Post and Read Articles Online

by: Abdallah Khamis Abdallah

The internet is one of the best depositories of informative articles especially on business, marketing and writing. These articles can be a very invaluable source of knowledge and information for starting and growing your business. If you are a writer and wish to see your articles published or read what others have written then the internet provides good forums for you to satisfy your needs.
For webmasters and online marketers, publication of free articles on article databases, ezines and other websites is a highly effective and longterm traffic generator. It is in an inexpensive and targeted marketing method for attracting visitors to your website. However, you need to write a substantial number of articles or regularly write and post the articles in relevant high traffic article databases and ezines to be more effective.
There are very few lists of article databases or websites which accept articles submissions for publication and in this article I attempt to list a few prime websites which accept articles for free publication. New websites come up every day while others are pulled down after some time so to get maximum exposure, post your articles to as many sites as possible, save the articles on disk and print the articles and file them for your own reference and record.
Before posting any of your articles, read the submission guidelines on every website you wish to post and follow them if you are satisfied with them.

While some websites will publish your articles without reviewing them some will check them for suitability and conformance to their requirements.
To enable people to visit your website, include your full url in your bio/resource box below each of your articles so that readers can click on it to go straight to you website. Now, visiting your website is one thing and buying what you provide on your website is another. You can have over one hundred thousand people visit your website in a month but none buying anything from you.
This brings us to the issue of what you sell on your website. Do you offer a unique item or service you have created? Uniqueness need not be absolute but do you offer something new, refreshing or useful? Does it solve a common problem or satisfy a common need? This and many other questions need to be answered by you and acted on. Provide gifts, feebies, special offers and free content such as free articles and ebooks to attract readers to your website and to make them buy from you.
The above listed websites can also provide you with useful articles written by others, news and forums to assist you with information to enhance your personal and business productivity and possibly enable you to place advertisements for high visibility and attention.
Some of the listed websites are part of large networks of websites and posting your articles may lead to the articles to be syndicated in a few other websites and ezines. Others are visited regularly by ezine editors , publishers and webmasters looking for new and useful articles to publish and they may pick and publish your articles. All these serve to increase the exposure of your articles and by extension your name and website url.
To know where your articles have been published, go to www.google.com and type the title of your article in quotation marks ( “ ” ) in the search box and search. To know where all your articles have been published go to the same search engine and type your name as written in your articles in quotation marks and search. Do this at least every two weeks and you will find that your articles have been published on many ezines and websites. However, the results could be at times disappointing. If your articles do not contain useful, fresh, how to, problemsolving ideas or are not interesting to editors and webmasters, they might be spurned and will not be syndicated.
Do not confine yourself to the above websites or article databases only but also approach ezine editors. Ezines are online newsletters usually sent daily and weekly to optin subscribers. These ezines are in need of content and if your articles meet their requirements they will publish them for free. This might give you high exposure as some of the ezines are read by thousands of voluntary subscribers who are hungry for fresh ideas and information. You can find most of these ezines by searching for “ezine directories” at www.google.com or at:

http://www.ezinelocator.com
http://zinos.com

So start today to write and post articles to the above websites and ezines to receive high exposure and traffic to your website.

Secret Recipe To A Successful Google Adsense Campa

Secret Recipe To A Successful Google Adsense Campaign

by: PuRe

Googleกs Adsense program is a great way for website owners to finally make some money for all their hard work. Google Adsense ads are mainly text ads that use the powerful algorithm of Google search to carefully match and target ads to the contents of a webpage. Google has recently started including fancy graphical ads into their arsenal.

Adsense has been considered by some a revolutionary program that blurs the lines of the digital and financial divide. No longer are just large sites such as Cnn and Aol making large advertising revenue. Today anyone with great content, niche site or even a blog can become apply to become an Adsense publisher. Adsense publishers have enjoyed this program, with many people saying it has one of the highest payments per click in the industry. One complaint has been persistent since the introduction of the program, the quality of Googleกs Adsense publisher reports. Adsense publisher reports leave much to be desired. Google has introduced channels as a means for publishers to distinguish how many times an ad is displayed in a certain location or how many times that particular channel is clicked, but thatกs about it. Itกs not really much reporting when you compare it to other programs.

People ask me all the time, how do you do so well on your adsense campaign? Normally I kept that information secret, as a recipe for a successful campaign, but today Iกm going to share it with you. One thing I hated so much as an Adsense publisher was that I never new exactly what ads were being clicked, specifically what was my visitor interested in? Using channels didn’t let me determine specifically which page the ad was on that they clicked the ad on. Using Google reports, I couldn’t determine who was referring valuable traffic to me, was it the search engines, was it link exchanges, directories? Googleกs reporting, outside of how much I made, really didn’t report anything. Not doing anything about it and being ignorant of all this important information was my worst mistake. Google has all these stats because they know itกs important, so why shouldn’t the publishers too?

Ok, itกs getting close to the part where I tell you my secret to Adsense success. Iกm pretty skeptical about buying software that I can’t change or modify to fit my own purpose, so I guess Iกd say Iกm an opensource man. When I finally found an opensource program that claimed it could give me the stats I was looking for, I gave it a real look. Itกs called Asrep , written in PHP and Perl (yes, thatกs two choices). Asrep is the premier adsense monitoring script. Itกs the swiss army knife every Adsense publisher should have in their back pocket.

First, before I get into anything, the small code that you add does not alter any Google code, and it does not violate their TOS, we actually asked, yes, you can exhale now. How exactly does click tracking affect your Adsense revenue your probably thinking? Iกm getting to that answer, just bare with me a little longer. Normally on any given day Iกd log into my Adsense account and be happily surprised, not alot of clicks but I did make a good amount from them. I wish I knew what that ad was, or even what keyword caused that ad to show, because Iกd certainly want to target those higher paying ads for my site. Now you don’t have to wish, with Asrep you can actually get detailed reports on just about any Adsense information you could want to know. When I say all the information youกd ever want to know, I mean all. Iกm talking about serious reporting Google hasn’t even thought of giving publishers, for example the click thru rate of a particular referrer. Yeah, you heard that right, now you can actually find out which traffic is being converted into clicks.

Still being ever skeptical, I decided I need to take a little test drive of Asrep, seeing is believing. It took all of 3 minutes to install, and another nice thing is that it works on multiple domains too, so you don’t have to do multiple installations. Youกll be able to get GeoIp information so you can determine where your visitor is from. This program is perfect, for those who are scared about losing their hardearned account to Click Fraud, or even the suspicion of it. We all know that click fraud is one of the plagues of our industry and once your site is suspected of it, you might as well throw in the towel. Don’t be the victim, now you can be proactive in combating click fraud be letting Google know about repetitive clicks from a certain IP address, before Google lets you know!

Now that you can see which traffic gives you the best click thru rate you won’t have to waste your time with bad ad campaigns. Now that you know which pages give you the most clicks you can improve their look and target more traffic to them. Now that you know which ads give you the most revenue per click, you can target them better with your page content. Itกs all about the Adsense Reporting and thats my secret recipe to running a successful Adsense campaign, that and staying on top of Adsense News.

I hope this article helps out everyone who have been considering running Adsense on their website. The Author PuRe runs an Information Technology Community site at www.pureehosting.com
