What Internet Marketers Can Learn From Obvious Ada

What Internet Marketers Can Learn From Obvious Adams

by: Jo Han Mok

A very long time ago, 1916 to be exact, The Saturday Evening Post began publishing a column about a young man named ขObvious Adamsข. Adams was a fictional caricature of a wouldbe advertising man who was so simple, and so guileless, in his thinking that he was brilliant in spite of himself.

The column gained popularity in business circles for its plain wisdom and straightforward advice. The Adams narrative wasn’t merely a ขgood storyข, it was a source of actionable information. Each installment found young Adams facing a new marketing challenge bestowed upon him by his employer. His knack for finding the solutions which hid in plain site earned him his namesake.

The story of Adams was finally published in book form by Robert Updegraff and used as a primer for new advertising executives. Although the text is somewhat quaint, it is a quick, pleasant read and I highly recommend locating a copy for your library.

So, what can you learn from Mr. ขObvious Adamsข? A lot! We will examine and discuss a few choice excerpts from the work, and reveal their application to your every day marketing challenges.

The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Oil

ขI want to get into the advertising business and I want to work for you, and I thought the obvious thing to do was to come and tell you so.ข

What is the lesson here? If you want something: ask! Likewise, if you want results, take immediate action.

Let me ask you this: how many opportunities have you let slip past simply because you were afraid to go direct to the source of profit? For example, how long have you had a super joint venture idea sitting on the backburner because you’re afraid to contact potential partners?

In the quoted material, Adams is addressing a fictional advertising big wig named James B.Oswald. Adams had promptly awoken in the morning to pay a visit to the man and ask him for a job. Do you find that a bit gutsy? After all, he’s a no name kid. Oswald runs a huge, profitable corporation.

Similarly, do you ever say to yourself: ขWho do I think I am? These big internet marketing gurus won’t give me the time of dayข? Well, guess what? They’re human just like you are. They got where they are by asking for what they wanted and needed and by taking action.

When you have a desire and a plan of action, don’t sit around hemming and hawing about it or doubting yourself. Follow Adams’ lead and shut out all other thoughts except the most logical. You want X, do Y. You need to make contacts, go make the contacts.

You can’t know what the possibilities are until you reach for them, and you can’t get what you want unless you ask for it.

Live and Breathe Your Market

ขAdams proceeded to study up on the subject of peaches. He though, studied, dreamed and ate peaches, fresh, canned, and pickled. He sent for government bulletins. He spent his evenings studying canning.ข

Do you really want to be more competitive? Would you like to know the absolute best price point for your products? Would you like write absolutely killer copy that pulls in sales and outperforms your current control? If you do, then you need to live and breathe in your market.

This is an obvious business principle that often gets overlooked by new home business owners. You jump into a niche and maybe you have some experience – maybe it’s one of your hobbies – but do you really know the industry? Do you know which trade publications to read? Do you know what the current wholesale price is for your product, or what the demand is for your information?

It is very difficult to sell something you don’t know much about. Pick a subject you aren’t familiar with, invent an imaginary product and try writing copy for it. Not very easy, is it?

Now, pick something you do know a lot about, and try to write out everything you know. You’ve probably got a sizeable list, but I ‘ll wager that you’ve left off more than you realize.

Adams went to great lengths to read up on peaches. Peaches! What more can be said about a peach than its piece of fruit, grows on trees and tastes good? Well, as Adams revealed, there’s a lot more to be said.

Don’t ever assume that you know all there is to know about your market, your customers or your product. There is always another feature or benefit hidden somewhere in the fine print, in those daytoday facts that we are so used to we become immune from them.

Are You ‘Selling’ Enough?

ขWe have been doing wonderful cake advertising, but we have overlooked the very things you have pointed out in your plan. We have been doing too much advertising and not enough selling.ข

Read that last sentence again. It reveals a very important distinction. Advertising and selling are not mirror images of each other.

In fact, the best way to discern the difference between the two is in the following definition: Advertising focuses on features and facts. Selling focuses on benefits.

AD

We offer the very best in leather jackets. Our spring sale features 50% discounts and free shipping!

Sales Pitch

The soft, supple skin of our topofthe line bomber jacket will make everyone envious of you! The woollined interior will keep you warm in the winter so you can brave the harshest elements. The zip out feature lets you use the jacket in cool weather, too – so you won’t be too hot or too cold but you’ll still look stylish!

An advertisement says: ขHere is our product. Here’s what it can do. Here’s how much it costs.ข On the other hand, a powerful piece of sales copy says: ขYou’ll feel 10 years younger and rekindle your love with our product: Here, touch it, feel it, test it, have a sample of it.ข

An advertising campaign creates brand awareness and creates general interest. A sales campaign captures that interest and converts it into desire.

So, if your conversion rates aren’t what you’d like them to be, the first thing to do is check your copy. Does your sales letter read like one big advertisement? You’re spending money on traffic, but what are the customers seeing once they arrive at your site? Are they being sold effectively?

There is always a reason for the customer’s decision not to buy, and failure to execute good salesmanship is one of them. It doesn’t matter how good your product is or what it costs. It doesn’t matter if you’re giving away millions of dollar worth of value for pennies on the dollar. If the customer can’t see the benefits of owning the product himself, he won’t buy.

The Path of Least Resistance: Common Sense

ขIt’s that everlasting obviousness in Adams that I banked on. He doesn’t get carried away from the facts; he just looks them squarely in the face and then proceeds to analyze, and that is half the battle.

Indeed, many of the answers to your most pressing marketing challenges are hidden within common sense. The problem is that many people just don’t enjoy thinking. They’re lazy and thought takes up too much energy. Imagine how much expense you could save yourself if only you were to put in the hard work of an honest analysis of your business – and that means sitting down and analyzing:

Your overhead

Your prices

Your copy

Your traffic stats and logs

Customer feedback

Keyword performance

Email campaign data on open rates and conversions

The answers you find can sometimes be as simple as having a server crash or a nonworking order link, or as tricky as a design element on your page which looks fine to you but confuses prospects and drives them away.

You should test and track every element of your sales chain. This means you need to pay attention to your traffic sources, to the copy on the links from those sources, to the landing page which gives visitors their first impression, to the follow up material you send. Each element plays an important role in finetuning the prospect’s mind and opening it up for your ultimate pitch.

Any weak link in the chain can cost you sales. Imagine one day that you send out an offer to your list without first double checking that the link works? Then, you have to send out a second message to apologize and provide the correct link. The odds are good that a significant percentage of your list won’t bother opening the second email. If you’d reached them the first time, though, there would be money in your pocket.

Some of the other ‘gotchas’ that can ruin a campaign: click fraud on the pay per click engines, product theft, missed customer support emails and wasted money on underperforming keywords and other forms of advertising.

There’s no real excuse for being lazy on these things! Yes, you can try to cut corners, but you’ll pay for it at some point. It’s like a brick and mortar merchant leaving the doors unlocked at night. You’re practically guaranteed to experience a wipe out sooner or later.

In Conclusion

There’s an old classic from the same era as ขObvious Adamsข called How to Live on 24 Hours a Day. The wisdom one can glean from Adams’ straightforward and common sense approach to business could be called How to Market on 24 Hours a Day. Too often we overcomplicate things when the simple answer is staring us right in the face. Learn to step back and execute a ‘horsesense’ analysis of the facts at hand. The time you save, and the profits you keep, will be immeasurable.

Nobody Reading Your Blog?

Nobody Reading Your Blog?

by: Bolger Redet

So you got a your own weblog. Everything looks great, you have nice layout, some nice pictures and last but not least excellent articles.

You also update your blog on a regular basis but nobody seems to read it ! You start to think where did I go wrong. Well if your blog is really good you just need to be patient. Also make sure you submit your blog to directories specialized in blogs and search engines. But even if you did all this you might get not the amount of readers you wished for.

Get unlimited readers for you blog !

Smart people started to notice blogs are very popular so they came up with a great ideas. Blogexplosion.com is such great idea. The concept is simple, if you read other blogs then other people read your blog. So the more blogs you read the more people will be reading yours. Sounds good you might think. Well it actually is a very good concept. Just register your blog for free and login, then pick a category blogs you would like to read and start reading. You must read each blog for at least half a minute, after that you can select another blog. For each blog you have red you recieve a credit. This credit means one other member is going to read your blog. Again great concept. But there is a downside, first you have to spend of lot of time reading blogs in order to get other people to read yours. You can choose to read only blogs in a specific category (of your interest) but it is still really time consuming. Other people who are reading your blog might do this because they only want other people to read their blog. You can imagine these are not the most interested readers you wish for. But blogexplosion.com also offers non members to search their directory for blogs. These visitors are potenial quality readers for your blog! Other downside is that you can not only earn credits by reading other blogs, you can also buy them ! If everybody is going to do this then this concept doesn’t do so well anymore.

New Medium, New Rules

New Medium, New Rules

by: Dave Collins

Life is thought to have begun on Earth somewhere around three billion years ago, and of all the species, only an estimated one in a thousand is still alive today. Academics continue to debate over whether this is a natural part of the evolution process, or a direct result of the changing environment. Whichever opinion is right, one thingกs for sure itกs bad news for the victims. If theyกd have adapted to their changing environment early on, they could very well still be around today.

One of the big mistakes made in understanding what works on the web is to simply assume that itกs a new form of an old medium. From parchment to paper to the web. The fact is that the web is much more than an updated version of paper, and applying the same set of rules to both is a recipe for extinction.

Your Monitor Is Not a Newspaper.

Letกs start with the absolute basics. The common newspaper has to be one of the most popular formats for gathering information in the modern world. Do you read yours at arms length, hold it at eye level, or hold it above your head? Of course not almost everybody holds or places the newspaper lower than eye level, usually around 30 to 40 cm away from their eyes. When is the last time you read data from your monitor like that?

Reading from a screen means staring straight ahead, focusing a little further away than usual, usually accompanied by very little blinking and consequently quite dry and often uncomfortable eyes.

One Click And The Visitor Is Away.

So this is your starting point for your site visitor when they read your site. Aside from the fact that it is relatively uncomfortable, and near impossible to curl up on the couch or read over lunch, thereกs the added threat of the dreaded mouse click. One click, taking around a third of a second, will take your visitor away out of site and out of mind. Itกs a whole lot easier and quicker than turning over a page.

So you have a very short amount of time to convey your message don’t wait for them to scroll down the page, and certainly don’t assume theyกll have the patience to read through a long text.

Use bullets, tables and lots of space these three methods will aid the fight against the click. Once youกve got their interest, then they may well want to read more, but those first two seconds are critical. Grab them.

Once they’re in, you need them to read your information, then decide whether theyกll take it further. The words you choose and how you write them will be the single biggest factor in their making the decision. Make them short, snappy, and easy to read.

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind.

Letกs assume that their quick scan of your front page has whetted their appetite. Now what? Go back to the basics. ORDER NOW should be very visible, or at least GET MORE INFO, BUY etc. The big thing is to force them to act right now, this very second. A magazine can be left on the coffee table for the next week or two, but your page will be off their browser and forgotten faster than you can say กmissed customerก!

If you’re going to wait for them to make the leap from passing interest into action, chances are that youกve already lost them. Grab them, show them your message and help them go for it now. Your call for action should be strong, clear and decisive. กPlease click here to orderก is bland. BUY is better, and I WANT THIS NOW is best of all.

At this stage, there could be any number of worries holding them back from placing their order they may want to know about your refunds policy, they may be worried about ordering online. Help them and make it clear where they can find this information. กWe use secure serverก won’t be noticed as clearly as a bright กWorried about Security?ก button.

Give Them What They Want.

You have to look through the eyes of the consumer imagine that they’re interested in the product but… but what? They may worry about the safety of using a credit card, ordering online, privacy, system compatibility, getting unwanted junk mail and so on. A significant advantage of being online is that unlike the newspaper ad, you have the ability to place all the information they need right in front of them. All they have to do is click on it.

And make sure you put your message across with the right tone. Business users have very different needs and ways of expressing themselves from the average home user. Make sure you don’t throw streetslang at the IT guy, or CPU usage patterns at the young game player.

Another universal technique that works is the use of testimonials. If Iกm visiting a website looking at a product that appeals to me, the testimonials can swing it. But make sure they look genuine, or you’re wasting your time. กCool Dave in Finlandก doesn’t inspire nearly as much confidence as a three sentence praise of features, attributed to a personกs full name and company. Keep them short, to the point, and lots of them!

Once you have the sale, you’re in there. But even then you could be letting further opportunity pass you by. I recently purchased Macromediaกs DreamWeaver online. I wanted the downloadable version, but when it came to the order form, I was offered other additional options such as having the manual mailed, a copy on CD, courses in using the software, additional licences and so on. Once someone has decided they’re going to part with their cash, you already have a significant psychological advantage, and they may well be receptive to getting one or two additional items as well. Make sure the opportunity is there for them.

Impulse Clicking.

Once the sale is in the bag, the offer of a reduced price on further purchases of your other software can’t do any harm, and who knows, you just may end up getting some more sales. Itกs no coincidence that supermarkets have all those impulse items by the checkout. It works.

The use of your website as an online version of a printed ad or press release is worse than a wasted opportunity itกs inappropriate, and it really won’t work very well. The web isn’t a digital newspaper or magazine, itกs a whole new medium with new opportunities, but it requires some new techniques. Don’t let your products or company join the dodo be seen, be sold.

The Best Advertisement For Your Business

The Best Advertisement For Your Business

by: Mark Daoust

It is no secret among internet marketers that writing articles is a great way to market your website. With all the article distribution services and all the websites looking for free, unique content, writing a quality article can bring you more links to your website in one day than an entire month of working out link exchanges and submitting to directories. The benefits of writing articles have been written about time and time again. Yet in order to enjoy the benefits of article writing, your article must first be accepted by the publishers who receive your submissions. This article will focus on a few key points to help increase your chances of getting your article accepted by the Internet’s top publishers.

Proofread Your Own Writing

Proofreading is very time consuming. If you want your article to be widely accepted, it is your job to make the publisher’s job easier. The first step in making the publisher’s job easier is to check, double check, and triple check your spelling and grammar. If you have someone that can review your article, have them read it over. Tell this person to look for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and poorly worded sentences. They will be able to point out mistakes that you may never have seen. When you write an article there is a tendency of getting overly familiar with the content and thus you could miss a glaring mistake in your writing. Consider the following exercise by reading aloud what is written:

London

in the

the

spring

What did you read? If you identified that the word ‘the’ is written twice, than you can consider yourself one of only 5% of people who get this exercise correct. 95% of people who read this exercise only see ขLondon in the spring X X Xข. (If you still do not see it, read it aloud again, but this time point to each word as you read it.)

The point of this exercise is to show you just how easy it is to miss obvious mistakes. Add in the element of familiarity with the writing and you are likely to miss even more mistakes. By asking someone else to read over your work, you greatly reduce the chances of missing a glaring error in your writing.

Rule to Remember: Proofread Your Own Writing, and then Proofread Again

Offer Something of Real Value

Articles are an incredible source of free traffic and free advertising for your business. However, articles are not supposed to be advertisements themselves. There is nothing you can do to get a publisher to delete your article faster than writing an article that is nothing more than a longwinded ad copy.

If you want to get your article published, once again you must get into the publisher’s mind. The publisher is always looking to offer his or her readers with fresh, insightful, and helpful information. Commentaries on industry trends, useful strategies, tutorials, observations and theories all make good articles. As an owner of a business, reviewing one of your products, offering a teaser of the information you sell, or blatantly marketing your products by including your hyperlink throughout the article makes for a horrible article that will likely not be published.

Think back to the time when you first started your online venture (this may not be very long ago) and remember how thirsty you were for good, quality information. When writing your article, remember how valuable this information was to you when you found it. Every author has the right to a resource box which serves as your advertisement; if you prove to the reader that you are an expert in your field and give them information that only you can provide, this will serve as a stronger advertisement than if you spend 2,000 words on a longwinded, selfpromotional article.

Finally, when writing your resource box, it is best to be as concise as possible. Resource boxes that appear to be about as long as the article themselves show that the author has no concern about the content of his or her article. Limit the number of links you put into your resource box to no more than three links and keep the resource box to no more than four or five lines.

Rule to Remember: Write a Good Article, not a Good Advertisement

Be Clear and Concise

Many people fall into the trap of thinking they have to develop an eloquent, graceful writing style in order to be published. What these people seem to forget is that an article is written with one main point: to deliver information. Be concise, be clear, and be direct. When writing your article, you should actually aim to be slightly boring with your writing style. What is slightly boring to you is probably very clear and direct to the reader.

It is important to note that most online publishers have much more to deal with than the writing styles of the authors who submit articles to them. Publishers are more concerned with grammar, spelling, and content than they are with how eloquently a writer can make his or her point. One thing that a publisher will take notice of, however, is a writer who has a confusing and difficult to follow writing style.

Your article should encourage readers to read through the entire article. If a reader gets a few lines into the article, or even a few paragraphs, and finds themselves confused, you can be sure that they will never get to your resource box and thus never visit your website. To keep a reader interested in your article, give them quality information and give it to them directly and clearly. A reader will only continue to read an article if they believe there is a good chance that they will gain something further by finishing the article. Although it may be counterintuitive, boring writing does just that.

Rule to Remember: Being Boring is Better than Being Confusing

Writing good articles is not difficult. When writing your article, think first about what publishers are looking for in an article. Focus on your grammar, spelling, clarity, conciseness, and content. Remember that your article should actually help people beyond just selling your product or service. Offer valuable information to your readers and they will pay you back tenfold. Offer valuable information to a publisher’s readers and they will be certain to publish your article and provide you with the best free advertisement for your business.

Internet Marketing: Unusual Tricks Of Internet Mar

Internet Marketing: Unusual Tricks Of Internet Marketing Gurus To Attract More Visibility

by: Ikey Benney, CEO

Do you post to message boards, email discussion lists, classified ads sites, FFA sites or newsgroups?

People will usually read the subject line before they read your ad or message, so itกs important they get noticed.

Below are ten simple, but powerful internet marketing tips to get your ads or messages noticed.

1. Use extra white space creatively in your subject line. You can add extra blank spaces between your words or letters.

2. Combine capital letters with lower case letters. Use all capital letters in every other word or use a capital letter between every other lower case letter.

3. Add text symbols in your subject line. You could use them between words and letters. Start and end your subject with a text symbol. ( *, $, >,{,] )

4. Begin your subject line with the word กSTOP!ก. People have been trained their whole life to stop what they are doing when they see that word.

5. Ask people a question in your subject line. We all went to school and were repetitively branded to answer questions.

6. Use the word กFREEก in your subject line. Your offer should be attractive to your target audience. It could be free information, software, trials, etc.

7. Begin your subject line with an กonline smile :)ก. People use smiles offline to gain peopleกs attention and to win their trust, why not use them online too.

8. Don’t use unbelievable claims in your subject line. People have or know some who has been ripped off and trained themselves to ignore those claims.

9. Don’t use all capital letters in your subject line. It is hard to read, looks unprofessional, and on the internet itกs considered a symbol for shouting.

10. Test different subject lines to see which ones draws the most traffic to your web site. Also, read the FAQ before posting a message or ad anywhere.

May these internet marketing secrets help you to make a lot of money.

Warmly,

Get Paid to Read Email Tips & Tricks 9 Simple St

Get Paid to Read Email Tips & Tricks 9 Simple Steps

by: Mohd Irwan

As we know get paid to read email is one way to develop income stream and perhaps to start your own business on the net with a little hard work. If you’re really serious in this arena, it can return you good bucks. Sex sites are not the only ones that can pull in $5000 a week using the power of instant access! I mean not sex sites can make money. Here 9 steps article about Get Paid to Read Email tips & tricks from me who not a ขguruข, but Iกll show you ideas and efficiency way that will rock your Get Paid to Read Email world.

1. Studies, Preparations are 90% of any job:

Iกve been there before, wasting my time with those entire scams PTR program for nothing. All this because Iกm so electrifying to begin in this PTR world without doing any studies, I mess up and caution, do not repeat my mistakes. But no regrets, learning is key to success, rite?

You have to be willing to make the effort by study all over the Internet such as in forum like GetPaidForum, articles, newsletter and some websites such as http://www.GetPaidRocks.com, http://www.dinheiropelanet.web.pt/ , http://www.apennyearned.co.uk/ and http://users.pandora.be/eric.bremeesch1/geld/perpayout.htm.

Maybe you can study some books such as Free Stuff for Everyone, Special Edition by Barbara Bectrer, WorkatHome Directory by Barbara Becker and The WorkAtHome Sourcebook (WorkatHome Sourcebook) by Lynie Arden. You can get those books with good price at Alibiris.com or Halfvalue.com.

2. Set a dedicated email:

Set one special dedicated email account. There are free emails that offer huge mailbox size e.g. Zwallet Mail where can earn cash with it, Yahoo Mail, Fastmail and Gmail if you have been invited . Huge mailbox can store your emails for couple days. Owner of PTR programs will delete you if your email bounced back to them. But be careful with email filtering setting that may block the email arrive.

3. Join payment programs:

Most PTR programs use these parties to pay their members, PayPal and EGold. Just click the link and register if you don’t have one.

4. Starts join PTR programs and choose wisely, don’t waste your time:

For a starter, any webmaster worth a pinch of salt starting any PTR site wouldn’t be starting any site that pays more than 5c to read an email. In fact, I don’t even join sites that pay more than 1 per cent click. Why? Because not many could afford to buy an ad on your site if it was sustainable above 1c clicks.

Join several established low or no minimum payout PTR programs with good review and reputations, such as:

Getptr.com: No minimum payout, 6 reference levels.

Worldwidecash.net: No minimum payout, 5 reference levels.

CashSpirit.com: No minimum payout, 5 reference levels.

QuickerClickers.com: No minimum payout, 3 reference levels.

Then join a few higher earning PTR programs that will make more, such as:

CockneyMails.com: $3 dollars payout, 5 reference levels.

Livefromnymails.com: $5 dollars payout, 6 reference levels.

Haulingcash.com: $5 dollars payout, 9 reference levels.

ElectricBlueClicks.com: $5 dollars, 5 reference levels.

MistyAndSamsCash.com: $10 dollars, 5 reference levels.

DolphinCents.com: $10 dollars, 6 reference levels.

GoneFishinEmails.com: $30 dollars, 5 reference levels.

You can get more details at http://www.GetPaidRocks.com DinHeiroPlanet and The Belgian GPTR.

I know youกll not be a member for only one PTR program trust me. Create a special folder in your browser ขFavorites or Bookmarkข, bookmark all your PTR programs, its impossible you can remember all of URLs or website address. Use Roboform or Autocomplete form to save time entering your personal particulars when subscribes PTR programs.

Check carefully when select categories of interest and read their terms & conditions and FAQ. Read carefully when registering, some tricky checkboxes use to test some users such as ขI don’t understand Englishข.

Why muck around with smoke and mirrors offering $1 up to some silly amounts Iกve seen now $100 for each email read. I mean really, a blind man could see that you aren’t going to pay that. Then in your TOS you fiddle the words saying something like On the 5th of every month, on a full moon, on every visit from Hailey comet, all honest members will be paid 000000.5% of their earnings. (How would you even know what an honest member was, if you’re not exactly that yourself?)

And there are many PTR programs that you need to avoid and I want to repeat, avoid them. You can see this with their ad rates. If the rates are too low they may not be around for very long. It is all a risk, don’t wasting your valuable time, so try to avoid the PTR programs that promises with higher payout (read their terms & conditions). The lists you can get it at:

http://www.GetPaidRocks.com/getpaidtoavoid.html lists to avoid

GPTBoycott

PTR Police

5. Document the program:

Summarized the log of your programs on paper or spreadsheet include the program name, date joined, minimum payout, payment method, no. Of referrals, earn cash; earn points and minimum to redeem an advertisement. Update it weekly to see your earnings. Many members do a smart way by take screen shot of their programs, it also useful to be as proof in case of owner crash or lost their database.

You also can use third party software, ThePaidHelp to help you manage you get paid programs statistic. Click here to download the free The Paid Help trial version.

6. Read your emails:

Please check and read your emails every day, this is the only way how does this PTR programs work (Don’t read, don’t get cash). Some emails expire quickly; some are for limited clickers. Don’t leave unread emails so long, owner will assume that you are inactive members and youกll remove or in most PTR programs if you are not a certain % as active as your down line you will not get the referral bonuses.

If you are from Search Country, do all paid searches. Hauling Cash is the good PTR programs if you are from search country. There are many countries which are prohibited from making searches. Beware if you are from unsearched country, don’t do it because your account will be deleted.

Please read your email because some of the emails purposely to catch the cheatbot that by cheater (don’t be one).

If you have time, I know youกll not have one, please read the nonpaid emails as well. Its support advertisers, and without them there is no income.

7. Visit PTR programs website:

Since you have added the program website as favorites, just do a simple visit every day if you have time. Sometimes the owner has updates; great promotions, get paid to play games, quizzes, contests and you can click at Paid to Click (PTC) section. This will help speed up your earnings a bit.

8. Uprade membership:

If you have extra earnings, please consider upgrading your membership to gold, silver or platinum. When you upgrade your free membership to an Upgraded Membership, you will receive the a lot of benefits including random referrals, bigger referral commission, unlimited banner impression, $0 dollar payout, discount advertising fees and be included in Email Sponsor. Stopping All The Talk And Getting Readers To Read

Stopping All The Talk And Getting Readers To Read

by: Florie Lyn Masarate

Majority of salesperson talk too much. That is what they are there for and that is their trade. Oftentimes, this technique of nonstop talking can be quite effective. People get interested by what the salesperson is rambling about and some even get some new and fresh ideas from the. Most of the time though, with many already trying to talk people into getting their products and services, people get tired of listening and simply ignore these salespeople. Not all people like to listen to same things over and over again. Also, not all have the patience to try to pretend listening even for just a few minutes. If you want people to take notice, putting something in printing would be more effective than talking about it.

It is said that 80 percent out of 100 would rather talk than listen to someone talking. So that leaves the remaining 20 percent who really listen. If you think about it, would you rather read about something than have someone talk about it for you?

Many buyers try to listen closely most are not actually listening closely enough to take them all in. The many statements and promises tend to overwhelm them if they are given all at the same time. Putting them into brochures or catalogs give them a choice when to read the information. They can either spare some time for them or try to give a bit of attention during free times when they do not have to think of anything else. It is important to think that the busiest of people want some time to breathe and relax for awhile when they are not working. And it is during these times that they may remember having been given one of these print materials. With clear minds and a lot of space to think things over, they may enjoy what you have presented in these printing materials and get to browse through them leisurely without pressure. Without having to squeeze them all in mind for fear that they might forget later on.

It is most effective to try putting statements and questions together. Asking a question initially, even if the answer is a simple yes or no, can have the readers involve almost immediately in what you are talking about. Even if they are not aware of it, they tend to have some answers in their mind upon seeing a question. It does not matter if the answer is positive or negative. As long as it formulates an answer, then it is altogether a successful way in getting through your readers.

The trick in getting an probable response from your readers is to be able to get them involved in what you are into. People, being selfcentered only want the attention to themselves. Sometimes having others beside yourself think and talk is a good way to attain positive results. What better way to tell them than to have them read it, on their own and in their own time?

The Ultimate PR Edge: Getting Reporters To Open Yo

The Ultimate PR Edge: Getting Reporters To Open Your EMails

by: Bill Stoller

You know that getting publicity is vital to the health of your business. You probably also know that email is the way most publicity seekers get in touch with reporters to score that precious coverage. Here’s what you don’t know: The vast majority of emails sent to journalists never get read.
Bottom line: if your emails don’t get read, you have no shot at getting the publicity you so desperately need.
Hereกs how to beat the odds:
Avoiding the Spam Trap
To a spam filter, your humble email pitch may appear to contain an array of trigger words and suspicious phrases. A server that relayed your message may be on a blacklist a กdo not openก list of known spammers. Or perhaps the filter’s having a tough day and has decided to start blocking things arbitrarily. You can’t prevent every instance of spam blocking, but you can take some steps to help lessen the chances of your email ending up in a black hole.
The most important step is learning how spam filters think, and creating emails that avoid the usual pitfalls. Fortunately, you’ll find that once you can do this many spam triggers are easily avoided.
Rather than taking up space here with all the howto’s, allow me to simply direct you a terrific site on the subject: http://www.wordbiz.com/avoidspamfilters.html
Getting Your EMail Opened & Read
After beating the spam filter, next up is getting your email opened and read. The key: the subject line. No matter how on themoney your pitch, a subpar subject line will kill any chance of getting the reporter’s attention. You’ve got one shot at getting your email opened, make the most of it with a killer subject line.
Here’s how to do it:

Place the word กNewsก or กPress Infoก or กStory Ideaก at the beginning of your email subject line, in brackets e.g.: [Story Idea]:
Try to incorporate the reporterกs first name also at the beginning of the subject line.
If you know the name of the reporterกs column, for instance กCooking with Lindaก, also try to incorporate that. One more thing if the reporter doesn’t write a regular column, try to at least include their beat (e.g. Joe, re: your future pieces on the wifi industry).

With these three tips in mind, a successful email subject line might read:
[Story Idea]: Linda, Hereกs a Tip for Your กCooking with Lindaก Column
That’s a heading that will stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Here are a few more email do’s and don’ts: Do:

Make the information you place in the subject line short and to the point. Often, reporterกs email software cuts off the subject at only a few words.
Don’t get cute or be too vague in your subject line. For example กHere’s a Great Story!ก is vague and sounds like spam; ‘this Will Win You A Pulitzer!ก will make you look silly (unless you’re delivering the scoop of the century, of course!).
Try to make your most newsworthy points at the top of your e mail message don’t expect a reporter to scroll down to find the news.
Include your contact information, including cell phone, email address, regular address, fax number & website URL at the beginning and end of the email.
Include a link to your website if you have additional information such as: photos, press releases, bios, surveys, etc.

Don’t:

Include more than a short pitch letter or press release in the body of your email.
Allow typos or grammatical errors.
Include an attachment with your email. In this day and age of sinister viruses, reporters automatically delete email with attachments.
Place the following words (by themselves) in the subject line: กHiก, กHelloก the mediaกs spam filters will pounce and destroy.
Send an email with a blank subject line.

A cool tip: Use Google News (www.news.google.com) to search for recent stories that have appeared relating to your industry or field of interest. Then, email the reporter directly (use a subject line such as Re: Your July 5th piece on electric cars). Give positive feedback on the story and let him know that, next time he’s working an electric car story, he should get in touch, as you’re an expert with provocative things to say. Give a couple of supporting facts to back up the assertion, include your phone number and web link, and ask if he’d like to see a full press kit. This technique really works!

Do You Read On The Train?

Do You Read On The Train?

by: Tony Dean

I don’t know about you, but I see more people with PDAs on trains reading things on there instead of reading paperbacks, or newspapers.

Is this the future we are looking at?

Will newspapers of a morning be unobtainable anymore?

Will we get our daily news via the PDA?

Perhaps connected to a กSmartphoneก for downloading the newspaper to the PDA?

Or will กSmartphonesก take over the task of the PDA?

Will newsprint not be available in a few years time, also magazines at the bookstall?

Will public libraries not be a place you will go to and sit down and read? Or will they be a network hub with servers all over the place for people to instantly download, not only the daily newspaper, but any textbook, manual or book, straight onto their กSmartphoneก and read things on the move?

The saving on paper and ink would be enormous, as would the manpower, distribution resources, bookbinding for we could all read digitally, future generations will not know what a paperback is or a newspaper, unless they get saved in museums.

The race has been on for some time to preserve our modern culture in digital form, all the classic story tellers who are now in the กpublic domainก are being transposed into digital ebooks so future generations will be still able to read them. So many books have been กpulpedก in the paper mill it is still unknown how many authors works have been destroyed right to the last copy.

The race is on too, for the thousands of collectors of กfirst editionsก by popular authors, who scan every shelf at the second hand bookstore or market stall and even it seems, at the local Oxfam charity shops! The word is that the Oxfam charity in the UK took over thirteen million pounds sterling in the year 2003 just in old books donated to their stores. I find this totally incredible, but their figures don’t lie.

Create Your Own Webcomic

Create Your Own Webcomic

by: Daniel Punch

Syndicated comic authors have been complaining about newspaper size restrictions, content censoring and similar issues for a long time. Comic enthusiasts have been increasingly irritated by the treatment their entertainment medium receives as well. Then along came the Internet, providing unlimited and unrestricted distribution possibilities. Thus the webcomic was born.

There are millions of webcomics out there, dealing with such vast topics as video games, college life, samurai, Lego men, identity and self esteem, depression, suicide, children and joy. People write them either for a living, for fun, as stress relief, for artistic expression, or often just for the hell of it. Then they stick their creations on the web and hope that just one more person will find and enjoy the fruits of their labour.

There seem to be several hundred new comics created each and every day. These often dwindle and fade after only a few months. Occasionally, however, a comic rises above the rest and gains such popularity that the creator is able to forgo all other work and scrape a living solely off the proceeds generated by their websites. Some examples of such are PennyArcade, PvP, CtrlAltDel and Squidi.net.

Many people, when introduced to the world of webcomics, think to themselves กWouldn’t it be cool to have my own comic?ก and a few go beyond this and create their own. So how can a newcomer ensure that their comic continues beyond the first few weeks of enthusiasm?

Now before I go into some useful tips it is probably worth noting that I am the proud owner of a failed webcomic. It went for a few months before hitting a few snags and then grinding into the ground. I have plans to return to creating the comics, but as of yet have not. So Iกm not really drawing from a foundation of success, more of failure and an understanding of some of the main factors contributing to my failure.

For starters, you’re going to need to plan a little. Itกs unfortunate, unfair and certainly not fun, but it is necessary. Sit down and think about your comic. Come up with a location setting, some characters and maybe even a few plots to test them in. Run the characters through some adventures and see how they react and how you react to them. Your characters will grow and change throughout this process, and continue to do so throughout the life of your comic but you need to get a handle on their basic character traits.

For some reason the majority of comics revolve around a group of people (usually guys) that are somewhat geeky and live together. Usually in a university dorm. I would imagine that this is because thatกs the general life of the majority of webcomic authors. The premise itself also makes an awful lot of sense for the basis of a comic. When designing my own webcomic the process went a little something like this: I designed the main characters, most of which were drawings that I had been playing with since high school. Then I needed a reason for them to constantly see each other and interact, so I got them living together. They needed character traits that I could relate to, so they become universityaged students that had at least a passing interest in the geeky side of life.

I drew my first few strips and showed them to some friends, who liked them, so started looking into putting them online. The initial line up included two guys who lived together, a female love interest for one of the characters and a talking animal (in my case a frog, because I had this frog that Iกd been drawing for years and had become quite attached to him).

At this point I wasn’t very experienced with webcomics, having only really read the syndicated newspaper comics that the syndicated press companies post online. So I started looking through some of the major comics, only to find that Sluggy Freelance had the talking animals, geeky guys that lived together and female love interest already covered. A bit more research revealed that the กuniversity students living togetherก was covered in the large majority of comics. Furthermore, having a kind of wacky (and just a little stupid) character, and a more sensible and reserved one was practically a given. Then, to rub salt in the wound, I found that another comic had its main character design very similar to my own. So I got rid of the frog, removed the focus on gaming and university and otherwise left the comic as it was. Not entirely original.

Anyway, the point is that you should probably try to be more original. Check through your concept and remove the whole university students living together with wacky talking inappropriately anthropomorphic sidekicks. Youกll be better off in the long run and have a more original creation.

Before you jump headfirst into publishing your comics online, you should build up a bit of a backlog of comics. Try to draw at least ten or so quality comics that you would be proud to have on your site. If you’re going to have a storybased comic then it would be a good idea to plan your first story arc. It is really useful to maintain this backlog of comics whenever possible, so that you can fall behind in the creation of the comics but still have content to post online. Nothing turns away readers faster than failing to provide them with content when you say you will. If you eat into the backlog, try to draw a few extra strips so that it doesn’t get diminished.

As a helpful guide for your comics, decide roughly what format they will take (e.g. three or four panel gag strips etc.) and draw up the panels on your computer. You can then print these and draw the strips within the panels, ensuring that they stay neat and consistent. When the comics have been drawn, scan them into your computer and touch them up any way you like. Itกs generally the best practice to remove speech balloons and text and add these on computer, because it will usually be neater and easier to read. Remember to fit balloons around the speech, not the speech into the balloons. Itกs amazing how often this is forgotten. Some good fonts, free for noncommercial use, can be found at http://blambot.com. Don’t get too stressed about your artwork, I found that most people don’t mind slightly inconsistent and not overly fantastic artwork provided they enjoy the content of the comic.

So now you’re ready to get going with the online side of things. Start writing your web page so that you can just upload it when you’re ready. Webcomic PHP management systems are relatively easy to find. I personally really like ComicPro that, unfortunately, seems to have vanished from the web. If you can hunt it down itกs worth a look. Web hosting is quite easy to find as well, you won’t need much space to begin with so you can use one of the many free providers out there (including http://keenspace.com that provides free hosting specifically for webcomics), use the web space provided by the majority of ISPs or purchase your own web hosting plan (you can get a quite cheap one because you won’t be needing many features to begin with). When signing up for any hosting package, make sure you have permission to change the read/write attributes of your files because the PHP comic managers will need this (this is done on Linux servers using CHMOD from your FTP program; In Windows you can RightClick a file, select Properties and change security permissions there; or you may need to use a proprietary control panel provided by the host).

You’re going to need to decide on an update schedule for your comic. Itกs probably best to start small and build up; maybe two or three updates a week. This way you have three to five weeks of comics in your backlog, which allows you to fall behind substantially before anyone notices.

While we’re on the topic of deciding schedules, it will help you if you actually try and schedule an hour or so into your day to write comics. If you just try to fit them into the free time that you’re กbound to have just after you finish just this one last thingก then youกll often find yourself failing to get a strip drawn on time.

Now that you have your comic online you can start promoting it. There are a huge number of comic directories out there that will help get you exposure. Get your friends excited about your comic and they in turn will get their friends excited. Read other peopleกs comics and get involved in their forums. Find sites that accept guest artwork or comics and send some to them. The best promotion comes from getting people to read your comic and fire a link across their instant messenger program to another friend. My current list of กmust read every dayก comics came entirely from various people sending links to me. Don’t expect instant success, look to sharing your vision with even just one new person every day.

Well, I hope that helps to give you a few ideas about how to make your comic and keep it running. When your characters start to grow theyกll almost create the stories and jokes themselves and the strip won’t be anywhere near as hard to write as it was when you first started out. Just keep drawing the comics on a frequent basis so that you don’t fall out of the rhythm of your created world and above all else have fun.

About The Artists Of Brücke

About The Artists Of Brücke

by: Blur Loterina

Ever heard of a political art group? Artists who use art, particularly painting, to influence or to move people to action? I have read of those in our history class beforeit was quite boring then. I used to think of it as an exaggeration of a hero’s life. Until I read one of my favorite music artist’s biography. His father was a leader of Chicano artists, the ขLos Fourข. It’s a sort of a mural movement. But this is beside the point. My objective for writing this article is to bring more light into ขdie brückeข, a group of German expressionist artists, which marked the beginning of modern art in Germany.

Since the early part of twentieth century German Expressionism was very popular and it influenced most of the movements to oppose Impressionists.

Die Brücke, German words meaning ขthe bridgeข, was founded in Dresden by architectural students lead by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner in 1905. Erich Heckel, Fritz Bleyl, Karl SchmidtRottluff gathered regularly in Kirchner’s studio. They were later joined by Emil Nolde and Max Pechstein.

The group was called ขbrückeข because the members have common interests and ideology. The bridge also symbolizes link, since one of their objective is to link to the future and to use art to change the society. Through art, they linked German history with their own cultural past. They despised academic traditions and strict constraints of the leading academies, realism and impressionism.

Although, most of the members of the Brücke were not trained artists, they were able to express their feelings and imaginations through harsh and orgiastic colors, particularly the black and white contrasts, distorted shapes and lines, exaggerated forms, and antiillusionistic perspective. The subjects of their artwork include urban cabarets and dancehalls, mostly in the nudes.

Their art works were influenced by the vibrant and emotive works of Vincent van Gough, Paul Gauguin, Edvard Munch and the Fauves.

They promoted their works by conducting art exhibits and through innovative patron membership program. To ensure artistic autonomy, the members of the Brücke did not accept conventional gallery arrangement—they produced portfolios instead. The portfolio is a compilation of the art works of one of the members, but the cover was made by the other members of the group. They made seven portfolios, most were singleartist productions. These portfolios featured Brücke V, Bathers Throwing Reeds, Three Bathers at the Moritzburg Lakes, and Dancer with Raised Skirts

About The Author

Blur Loterina

You may wonder why I write articles. Besides from the fact that it’s my job, I used to write short stories when I was younger. I think it would be helpful if I said I’m a big fan of Zach de la Rocha and Rage Against the Machine. This would explain my own views about a lot of things. Their songs were about national issues, politics and human rights. They support the American Indian Movement and Che Guevara, the face you see on tshirts. Not that it concerns me. I only like their music and idealism.

I like to read anything that contains words in the old English form, though I can’t understand it. You know, the King James Version of the Bible with words like thou, thy, thine, wilst, etc. The words used are different. The construction of the sentence is different, too, which makes sentences sound artistic. I also like gothic metal, a music genre, because most of the lyrics contain such words. It is not only the words that fascinate me; it’s the hidden meaning it contains. It’s like an abstract painting; you don’t get the real picture until you see through it.

I’m not an artist, I’m not a poet. I just love writing anything I want. I wasn’t born a genius, I just want to know and understand something I don’t. I like to find the difference between similar things. It’s like counting birthmarks on each identical twin.

How To Write A Profit Pulling Article

How To Write A Profit Pulling Article

by: Rich Hamilton, Jr

Having an article published is one of the fastest and easiest ways to build your credibility as an industry expert. At the end of the each article you are given the opportunity to gain free exposure for your online business or affiliate program.

As more and more people realize the true power of having your article published, the Internet has become saturated with them. Everywhere you turn there are plenty of articles to choose from, making it tougher to get yours noticed, let alone read.

If you can’t get your article noticed, then it won’t be read, therefore, no free exposure or profits. But getting your article noticed is only the beginning, you also need to hold your readerกs attention with good quality content.

In this article we are going to go over the key elements of writing a succesful article and how to get them noticed. We will also go over how to turn an article into an unstoppable profit generator, even if you don’t have your own product or service. Thatกs right, you don’t need your own product or service to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

Research Before Choosing A Topic

When most writers write their articles, they only write about what they want to write about. This is not an effective way to write an article. The most effective and recommended way to write an article, is to write one on a topic that your targeted market is already interested in. To find out what kind of article your targeted market is interested in, will require some research.

You should always do the research before you actually pick a topic to write about. When researching for your article you should try going to forums that cover your targeted market. Observe to see what they are talking about and even looking for. The best approach to use, is to find a problem, then write an article that resolves the problem.

By using this approach you are showing your dedication as a problem solver. When you help people resolve their problems and/or endeavors, you will strengthen your credibility and then the profits will soon follow.

Article Title

Choosing the title of your article will be one of the most important decisions you will make and will determine whether or not it will be read. You need to take your time, when it comes time for you to select an article title and it will require you to do some brainstorming.

Your article title should reach out and grab the readerกs attention and compell them to want to read it immediately. The best thing to do when trying to come up with an article title is to write the biggest benefit that your reader will receive while they are reading it. The biggest benefit may not be the exact article title, but it is a good place to start.

When I choose a title for an article I write down several before I intially select a one. So don’t choose just one title, write down several different ones, get the feel of the word variations, and tweak the weak areas.

Content

Most of the articles out there are nothing more than an abstracted sales pitch or material that does not contain any valuable information, therefore is useless to the reader. The best way to get your article read, is to educate the reader. Any good article will be educational to their readers and have some sort of value. If you can’t sell your article, than don’t publish it.

If you publish a poorly written article, then people will not read it. This will have an impact on your credibility and on any future articles you publish, so do it right the first time by educating them.

Promote

If you want to make some cash with your article, then at the end of it, will be the time to promote your product, service, or affiliate program. Make sure that the product, service, or affiliate program is relevant to the article, youกd be suprised at how many people get this wrong.

Not sure, let me give you an example, I previously wrote an article that was entitled ‘the Wrong Email Format Can Destroy Your Offerก. In this particular article I discussed the advantages and disadvantages of text and html email formats. At the end of the article I presented an autoresponder that is capable of performing both formats.

If you promote a product, service, or affiliate program that corresponds with the article, your chances of getting a click through is very high. If you don’t have a product or service that corresponds with the article, then I recommend finding an affiliate program that does.
