Short Live Telecomsก Monopoly

Short Live Telecomsก Monopoly

by: Patrizia Demaria

กFree will cannot be debated, but only experienced like a colour or the taste of potatoes.ก

My question: can we really experience it?

In a world in which everybody talks of nothing else than Democracy, is our wolrd slightly democratic?

Have we really come a long way through History?

Or are we just repeating the same mistakes all over, just changing the pattern of them?

ก We go on discovering that we are this, that and other things and sometimes we have astounding experiences. We are unfinished, we are growing and changing.

Yet that future personality which we are to be in a yearกs timeis already there, only it is in the shadow.

These potentialities naturally belong to the dark side of the ego.

We are all aware of what we have been, but we are not aware of what we are going to be.ก

But do we really change and improve or we are just the same all over?

ก In point of fact what is interesting about people is the mask that each one of them wears, not the reality that lies behind the mask.

It is a humiliating confession, but we are all of us made out of the same stuff.

Where we differ from each other is purely accidental:in dress, manner, tone of voice, religious opinions, personal appearance, tucks of the habit and the like.

The more one analyses people, the more all reasons for analysis disappear.

Sooner or later one comes to the dreadful unioversal thing called Human Nature.ก

For two thousand years or more man has been subjected to a systematic effort to transform him into an ascetic animal.

He remains a pleasure seeking animal.

And some are pleasure seeking animals at any cost.

Cheating, robbing, killing is nothing that a mean to achieve it.

The biggest the Corporation, the more polithically involved, the more cheating and crooking.

Look at the Politicians of today, at the big Monopoly corporations…

When will we wake up?

They try to shut our mouths and minds with any kind of stupid fullfilling devices, but still keeping the hand ( and the profit) in it.

Once they said man built his own pleasures, now they say he has to pay for them.

They also say it takes gut to be a dreamer and a visionary, I think on the contrary it comes naturally, either you are or you are not.

Either you see reality or you see what they want you to see.

The economy of means is founded on the richness of thought.

I have just started my personal peaceful war and I am looking for people who can share my dreams.

Short live the Telecom monopoly!

When Internet Marketing Gurus Sell Their Souls

When Internet Marketing Gurus Sell Their Souls

by: Gobala Krishnan

If you’re just getting started in Internet Marketing, you may be awed by the amount of กInternet Gurusก out there, all making millions of dollars (or so they claim) and for some reason seem more than willing, for a fee, to teach you their biggest, most intimate secrets.

I believe in one thing If it sounds too good to be true, it most probably is!

While I have no doubt on the specialized skills and techniques used by these gurus, it can get way too frustrating simply getting into all their hype, and find almost no value at the end of the day. Hype thatกs one thing I agree these guruกs are really good at. For some of them, unfortunately, hype is the only thing they’re good at.

So the question, for those who are trying to master Internet Marketing, might be:

Can I learn anything from these gurus without paying money?

Who is real and who is not?

Whose methods should I follow?

Can You Learn Something for Free?

Most guruกs have optin newsletters on specialized subjects like website marketing, PayPerClick, search engine optimization or whatever specialized skill they have กmasteredก. Almost all of them ask you to subscribe to their newsltetter in return for some kind of กbreakthroughก report, and promise to deliver กvaluable informationก weekly or monthly to your email address. Sound great.

Hereกs what happens 2 weeks later You realize that the กbreakthrough reportก is the same old regurgitated information which you can find almost anywhere. You might also relize that the กvaluable informationก never comes in full, without any hidden agenda. The กvaluable informationก is actually a softselling (sometimes even blatant advertisements) ad for the guruกs products, or even worse, some other Internet marketerกs products.

Iกm not trying to shoot down any marketer here, but the irony is in their teaching. Almost all internet gurus would advice you to offer valuable, free information that benefits other people. Profits, as they say, is secondary to actually helping people and making a difference in their lives. What a load of BS. How come they don’t practise what they preach? Of is that how the Internet Marketing Game is played?

Fortunately, not all guruกs are the same. There are still some jewels to be found, and they offer some great information in their newsletters, such as:

Vishal Rao: http://www.homebasedbusinessopportunities.com talks about home based businesses.

Mike Cheney: http://www.magnet4web.com talks about building an effective and efficient business web site.

Jill Whalen: http://www.highrankings.com talks about Search Engine Optimization.

Of course there are more out there, but it is not necessary to subscribe to every Internet Marketing newsletter just to hope for nuggets of gold that may never come. Instead, give the guru a ‘trialก month, and if you don’t find anything of value from them, just unsubscribe. It will only be a loss to them, not you.

Whoกs Real and Whoกs Not?

To answer this question, you really have to กget aroundก the Internet a lot. Go to forums where you will definately find topics on infoproducts offered by these gurus, and see what others are saying about them. Forget about all those blaring testimonials that the guruกs compile on their site. Forums are where the real testimonials are. You may also want to consider this site:

GuruDaq : http://www.gurudaq.com

Taking on a Nasdaqlike approach, this site lists all gurus according to ratings and กstock priceก. Although I would advice to take it more as an entertainment that actual recommendations, perhaps this site will allow you to get a glimpse of กwhoกs whoก in Internet Marketing.

Whose methods should I follow?

Honestly, nobodyกs. At least not wordforword of what is thought in their newsletters or ebooks. The important thing to realize is that you need to develop your own technique to be really successful. The guruกs don’t teach you everything, anyway. They almost always feed you the crop but keep the cream for themselves. In other words, no one really tells you the กhot moneymaking secretsก, especially those guruกs that have sold their soul a long time ago.

Its really up to you to learn some tips and tricks of the trade from them, but set out on your own course. In order to be successful in anything, you need to do your own thing. Be original in you approach, whether itกs writing sales letters, doing email marketing, payperclick or search engine optimization.

Don’t look to someone who has sold their soul to lead you to the path of success. Thatกs wishful thinking.

My Identity Crisis

My Identity Crisis

by: David Leonhardt

When we are young it is all so simple. We know exactly what I want to กbeก when we grow up.

You know what itกs like: กI want to be a fireman.ก I want to be a ballerina.ก กI want to be a movie star.ก กI want to be a nuclear physicist specializing in embryonic schisms in postmenopausal subatomic particles.ก

This aspect of growing up came back to haunt me recently when reading a magazine article by someone working in television who had always wanted to be a celebrity. To paraphrase her words, กIt never occurred to me that I might have to actually do anything.ก

Well, here I am, a fullygrown adult. Or perhaps I am no longer fully grown – Iกm not sure at what age we start shrinking! But I do have a confession to make; I never knew what I wanted to กbeก. I knew only what I wanted to do.

What I wanted to do was design cities, urban spaces, bus routes. No, thatกs not true. What I really wanted to do was design maps…but most map companies want map designers to simply mimic the cityกs existing design. Geesh, whereกs the creativity in that?

So I was led astray, falling in love with politics instead. For a while I worked as a political aide, plotting to become King of the World. Amazingly, it took only five years for reality to grind my idealistic innocence to sawdust and send me on a frantic search for a doityourself lobotomy kit. (I never did get to be King of the World, nor did I ever find that doityourself lobotomy kit.)

I spent the next decadeandahalf as a consumer advocate and lobbyist, doing media relations, government relations and industry relations none of which are technically verbs that one can actually กdoก.

At social events, the accountants and lawyers had it easy. กI am an accountant,ก says it all.

I was not so fortunate.

กI am a consumer advocate,ก I would say.

กSo what do you do?ก

กWell, I talk to the media and to the government and to industry,ก I would explain.

กAhaaa… and I talk to the tooth fairy. So what do you do?ก

Now, I have an even harder time when somebody asks what I do. Most people have no clue what search engine optimization is, which is my main กcareerก. Few people really understand what freelance writing is, except if they read a freelance writerกs article in a magazine . I don’t even try to mention that I run three websites and do affiliate marketing. But people do understand what it means to be an author.

กWow, you wrote a book on happiness? Congratulations. So whenกs your next book coming out?ก

Which is when I have to explain how a book really doesn’t feed a family, and if I took the time to write a second book, it would take time away from search engine optimization and affiliate marketing…

กHuh, whatกs that?ก

กNever mind,ก I answer. กIกm a stayathome dad.ก Which also is true. People might look at me weird, but at least they understand me. Or, so they think.

All of which brings me back to that question I never answered when I was young: what do I want to be when I grow up? I guess Iกll just have to wait a little longer to find out. Like when I grow up.

3 Simple Ways to Start Your Home Based Internet Bu

3 Simple Ways to Start Your Home Based Internet Business Right Now

by: Andrea Hayhurst

So, youกve finally decided to take that giant leap of faith and start your very own home based internet business. Youกve decided that itกs finally time to step up to the plate and claim your share of all those internet riches you keep hearing about. Only problem is, now that youกve finally made your decision, it seems like a pretty daunting task deciding what to do next. Using the term กinformation overloadก to describe the problem seems like a huge understatement.

Well, if you’re really serious about starting your own home based internet business, the next step really doesn’t have to be that difficult at all. There are 3 relatively simple ways to start making an online income and one of them is sure to fit your particular idea of what it is you would like to do. So, just relax, take a deep breath, and peruse the following list until you find something that strikes the right cord.

1Join One or Several Affiliate Programs

This is probably one of the easiest and quickest ways to get started making money online. The internet is full of products that have affiliate programs you can join and most of them pay generous commissions. When you join an affiliate program, you are simply making an agreement with the owner of a product that you will receive a commision in exchange for referring a prospect to that personกs product (usually a sales page that you have sent the prospect to via your affiliate link) if that prospect ends up making a purchase.

Start by choosing a product or service that you’re interested in and then visit some of the websites which have achieved top rankings for the keywords which describe that topic. You’re sure to find the top affiliate programs for that industry relatively quickly. Or, try visiting one of the many affiliate program directories (you can find them quickly enough in Google) and scan their listings and recommendations until you find something that appeals to you.

This is a good one for newbies since you don’t even need your own website to get started. You will, however, need to learn how to use the pay per clicks so you can get some targeted traffic to your affiliate link. Once you start generating some income from the pay per clicks, you can then start reinvesting some of your profits and get yourself set up with your own website. By that time the prospect of getting set up with your own website won’t seem so daunting.

2Join a Residual Income Program

Residual income programs are somewhat similiar to affiliate programs in that you typically get paid for referring a prospect to the programกs website if that prospect decides to make a purchase. However, the difference lies in the fact that with these programs you also have the opportunity to earn a monthly recurring income if the prospect you refer becomes a paying member of the residual income opportunity program. For example, I belong to one of these programs myself. If a prospect comes to my website and clicks on a link which takes them to the sales page for the product and they buy, then I get a commission. However, if that prospect also decides to become a member of the residual income opportunity program, then I get a check every month as long as that prospect remains a member of that program.

People tend to be skeptical of these programs and get them confused with pyramid schemes. The way to tell if one of these programs is a pyramid scheme is to simply determine if the company in question offers a real honest to goodness product or service. If so, it cannot be classified as a pyramid scheme and you should be okay. Don’t be scared off by the fact that you will most likely have to pay a monthly fee to participate in the residual income opportunity. If you can build a downline for yourself in one of these programs, the monthly fee will be negligible compared to the potential residual income you could earn. Alot of these programs will provide you with your own cookie cutter website, which is okay if you are just getting started. Again, use the pay per clicks to start generating some traffic and then work on getting your own site up so you can start to build your own opt in list.

3Sell a Hard Good or Downloadable Infoproduct

Okay, okay, I know this one doesn’t sound so simple or easy, but to be honest, itกs really not as hard as it might first appear. Selling a hard good entails offering a real physical product (like fishing poles, for instance) for sale in your own online retail store. If this idea really appeals to you, go for it. Brainstorm some products you would enjoy selling, then do some keyword research in Wordtracker to develop a targeted niche within that market (deep sea fishing poles?).

After that, you can use a drop ship source directory or the search engines to find manufacturers or distributors who will drop ship the merchandise for you (meaning they ship it directly to the customer and you don’t have to carry any inventory). Then go to Ebay or Yahoo and sign up for one of their stores. I know from personal experience that Yahoo has some merchant hosting packages that are great and super easy to use. Theyกll even provide you with a shopping cart feature and help get you set up with a merchant account (so you can accept credit cards). Plus, youกll get some traffic already built in since millions of people are using their shopping directory to browse for products every day.

As for the website itself, don’t worry. Most hosting companies today have some type of site builidng solution available for those customers who wouldn’t know an html code from a java script. Believe me folks, if I, a completely technically useless and html challenged technophobe can do this, ANYONE can.

Now, as to the infoproduct. By the way, I mean YOUR OWN infoproduct. Everyone on the web and their mother will tell you that this is the best way to make the really big bucks online. Write about something you know and/or love. The topic of internet marketing seems to have been way overdone. Unless, of course, you are a true expert on some niche internet marketing subject, then definitely do it. Just don’t do it because everyone else is.

As for the actual writing, you don’t even have to do that if you really don’t want to. You can check out a site like elance.com and post your project and have writers bid on completing the project for you! And there are so many easy to use PDF ebook creators available that formatting the book should pose no technical challenge whatsoever. Set up a simple little one sales page website with a link for payment processing, optimize the site for the engines, use the pay per clicks, find some JV partners, and you’re in the money!

By the way, I know of some guys who have about 10 or 15 of these little mini sites set up selling little reports on niche topics and raking in an average of $2,000 a month from each site. And they’re incredibly easy to set up and practically run on autopilot once you do!

Well, there you have it. Just a few relatively simple ways to get you started on the way to raking in YOUR share of the internet gold mine!

Should You Quit Your Job for Your Dream?

Should You Quit Your Job for Your Dream?

by: Suzanne FalterBarns

The next time you’re moodily sitting in your office, wishing you were living your dream instead, answer the following questions… or answer them now! They’ll give you a sense of whether or not now’s the time to make the break.

My job is making me crazy; so crazy I’d do anything to quit.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

If I left my job for my dream, I’m not sure what I’d do first, or even how I’d begin it.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

My boss runs my life … or ruins it. I feel completely misunderstood and trapped by this job. I don’t even know if I could quit – how would I survive? Who would even hire me?

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

I hate this job but I really need the money. I don’t see any other viable alternative.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

If I stay at my work just a little longer, I stand a good chance of getting a promotion and a raise. Then I could find my way clear to saving a little money for my dream.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

5. Yeah, I could quit my job for my dream, but I could run off to Tahiti, too. That’s way too much risk for my taste.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

My spouse/partner is okay with the thought of me quitting my job for my dream. We’ve talked it through and he/she sees it as the next thing I need to do.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

My spouse/partner fully understands what life will be like when I make the leap to begin my dream. He/she will be there for me, emotionally and even financially if necessary.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

I have a business plan for my dream all organized and ready to go. I’ve even scoped out sources for capital, and necessary space and materials to get to work.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

I have a savings account for my dream with enough to get started, plus an emergency savings account worth 6 months of my general living expenses. I’ve also scoped out alternatives to my current health care and insurance.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

10. I’ve been developing a systematic plan for leaving my job for a while now… I feel I’m almost ready to go.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

11. I have an adequate support system in place to really help me move ahead with my dream. It includes good friends and advisors, adequate child or elder care, a supportive spouse, and even a coach or mentor.

Highly agree

Mildly agree

Don’t really agree

Strongly disagree

If you answered mostly a) and b) to questions 14, you’re stuck. Your job has forced you to forget about essential pieces of yourself – it’s time to get some career coaching now.

If you answered mostly a) and b) to questions 5 & 6, you’re a borderline case. You haven’t yet decided whether your dream is all that important to the quality of your life. Just an experiment, you might want to sit with a blank piece of paper and really brainstorm what it would be like to live your dream.

If you answered mostly a) and b) to questions 711… what are you waiting for? You’ve got a plan, you’ve set up the necessary support and you’re good to go; you should be able to weather the inevitable ups and downs. Be sure to allow your company enough notice to make the transition smoothly, so you can leave with glowing reviews. Congratulations!

Making Your Purpose Your Business, Step#4

Making Your Purpose Your Business, Step#4

by: Heather J. Tait

Step#4 – Organizing & Developing Online Content

If you have done your homework then you are ready to organize and develop what will be your online content. Your content is very important as it will be used for promoting you, your work, and your website. Content serves a variety of purposes; it displays public relations, target marketing, and general information to build a platform for your product (your purpose).

One of the main items that need attention would be your biography. If you are an artist or writer, you will get asked for this pertinent information every time you make a submission or apply for competitions. Your biography is an essential piece of information that often can get viewed prior to your work. Even if your target audiences are publishers, agents, or clients, you have only one chance to intrigue them and make a good first impression.

There are several ways that you can address your audience. If you would like to be up front and personal, you can write in first person, using ขIข in your sentence structure. For example, ขI was born in Silver Springs, Maryland.ข If you want to have a general sound or professional structure, you can write in the third person, referring to yourself as stated in this example, ขHeather J. Tait was born in Silver Springs, Maryland.ข

It’s really up to you on how you would like to address your audience. I personally prefer writing in third person when referring to my work mainly because I feel it conveys a sense of professional etiquette. It creates a press release persona that can maintain your audience’s attention. However, if you prefer to write in first person you can do that and still have strength to your sentences. Either way you want to spark your audience’s interest in you and your work.

The difference between a how a hobbyist or a professional artist or writer can be determined simply on how they are conveyed through content. You want your sentences to have strength and power to them. Each word and phrase counts because they are performing a difficult task, representing you, when you are not there to do so. For example you could say, ขI’m an artist from Erie, PA. I am trying to make a living doing art. Hope you will look at my work.ข This sentence hardly provides any credibility to my name or my art. It conveys that I am not really serious about what I’m doing, but I still would like you to look at my work. That’s a lofty expectation to have of my audience when I lack taking myself serious.

A professional sentence structure as an example, ขHeather J. Tait was raised in Erie, PA and began her career as a professional artist in 1997.ข You want to state who you are, where you come from, and what it is you do. You want your opening sentence to really state a few basic facts about you and your work. This is not an easy task and perhaps one of the reasons why many artists and writers procrastinate completing a biography. Perhaps one of the reasons why, just as Alan Wilson Watts states, ขTrying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth.ข

It’s quite the challenge to write about yourself and really expand on your talents. You have to convey your work and yourself from almost another person’s perspective. Imagine yourself as a Public Relations Specialist and you were just hired to write about an artist or writer. What are some things you would need to know about that person? What strong points do you want to enunciate about this person’s life and accomplishments? What active role does this person assume now?

You don’t have to be overly personal but you really want to give your audience a sense of who you are. Let them know how you began your career. Write about your technique or your style. It is possible to be personal but also professional. You may have to work on several drafts until you get a nice flow of words and a functional biography. The time you put into writing this valuable piece of information will pay off by getting people to take notice in something very dear to you, your purpose. So share your passion with your audience. You just may notice that your enthusiasm might be contagious.

You want to have a short version (100150 words) of your biography and then a long version (5001,000 words). It’s advisable to work on your long version first so then you can easily copy a short version by taking excerpts. As an example you can view my biography online: http://www.silencespeaks.com/artist/artist.html. I had a shorter version posted several months back, but because of numerous requests to know more about me, I had to rewrite it. You may experience similar feedback from your viewers. The long version will be for your website and the shorter version will be used for promotional websites that commonly limit your biography to 100150 words.

You can also write a statement about your work. A statement simply is a personal claim about your work or perhaps on what inspires your work. Get creative here and really just type what you feel you need to express about your creativity. I was asked for an artist statement back in 1999. I had no clue what that was but I wrote one down. I’ve used the same statement ever since. You can view it online to get an example: http://www.silencespeaks.com/artist/artist.html

Take time to really write down your talents and accomplishments and don’t be afraid to express them in your content. The more people learn about you, the more they will be able to relate to you.

Your challenge for this month is to create a full length and short version of your biography. As a bonus create an artistic statement if you would like. Read other artists’ or writers’ biographies and ask yourself which ones interested you and then explain why. Which biographies had strong statements, which ones were weak? Then take that information and apply it to yourself. Evaluate what traits you want to express, organize an outline, and then write your biography.

It Really Is Simple RSS

It Really Is Simple RSS

by: Tony Dean

I have กGooglebotก coming to my site every day since a month ago I put up my first news feed, since then I have put up yet another.

I never used to see กGooglebotก much before, so it goes to show that if you want to be noticed by the search engines, you need to put up a กnewsfeedก.

All this resubmitting to search engines every month nonsense is just that, nonesense! I don’t really think the search engines care for you to submit to them in the first place, I think that now they like to find your site on their own. Some pundits have claimed that nowadays to submit your site at all to the search engines is counterproductive and you should not do it. They say that there is much better value in allowing the search engines to find it via a กlinkbackก from somewhere else.

กNews Feedsก are now providing that กlink backก that every site owner needs. If you run a web site and you have still not got a กnews feedก you are being left behind in the race, first to get listed by search engines and secondly to get a higher ranking my sites ranking has gone up very much higher in Yahoo and Google, since putting up my first news feed, and guess what, it was within about 36 hours of putting up that first กnews feedก that Googlebot discovered it was there! It did not take it long! The same with Yahoo, but a little bit later, like two days after Googlebot.

กNews Feedsก are readable in a software called a กNews Readerก, these are usually free to download and use right away to look at some of the feeds that are out there. There are directories for feeds which you can visit and get some addresses of some suitable ones to read each day, some of these feeds are more like กblogsก in that, they change the contents several times a day, which gives a feed a กfresherก feel to it, and which the search engines like to see. They also would like to see web site owners refreshing there web site contents on at least a daily basis, it does help with ranking.

It has been slated that the next incarnations of browser will be กfeedก compatible, they will be reading กnews feedsก as well as viewing web sites. When this does happen the กinformation revolutionก will be really turned full on! Any one, even you, can set up a กnews feedก, it really is simple, and if you don’t set one up, you are going to be like the only person in your street who does not have television or radio, you are going to miss out on the กinformation revolutionก, big time!

Where Do You Find Time for a Home Based Business?

Where Do You Find Time for a Home Based Business?

by: Gobala Krishnan

I am very often asked this question by affiliates in my home business network, and almost every time it happens, I just shake my head in pity and disbelief. They just don’t get it…

Where DO you find the time to run, manage and promote your home based business? I honestly don’t know. I know one thing for sure; you can never really กfindก time; you must กmake timeก.

Many who are new to the concept of running a home based business suffer what I like to call the กIndecision Syndromeก. They have not made up their minds that they WANT or NEED a home based business, and my friend let me tell you, until you have made a decision you will never have time on your side.

You will never be able to devote even 1 hour to building a business for yourself if you don’t have the sense of urgency, and if you don’t understand what a home based business can do for your life and your family in the long term.

Hereกs what the people who claim they can’t กfindก time do; they put the least priority on their business. Everything else in life seems more important to them and they generally place their home based business last in the in the order of daily importance, such as this:

Spend 45 minutes in a jam

Go to work and slug for their boss

Hangout with friends a local pub after work

Spend 45 minutes in a jam

Get home and cook dinner

Do all the domestic chores

Watch a few hours of TV

Get ready for the next day of work

Sit on their PC and read sports news

Devote the rest of their time to their home based business

If you’re one of those that feel you have กno timeก for your home based business then I challenge you to tell me this is not at least somewhat true. Prove me wrong. Make me eat my words. Chances are youกll find that difficult to do…

Guilty as charged, right… 🙂

If you prioritize your hours in such a way, how do you even realistically expect to กfind timeก? How do you realistically expect to กBe your own bossก and have กFinancial Freedomก?

The truth is anyone who REALLY wants to build a home based business must make a conscious decision that they are going to do it no matter what it takes. After that lifechanging decision is made, there has to be sacrifice…

I can almost hear you say กHuh? Sacrifice? Sacrifice what?ก

You have to sacrifice the time you spend doing nonproductive and nonincomegenerating activities everyday, and replace the gained time to do the really important tasks. If you’re serious about making time for your business, there is no other way. Youกll be amazed at how much you can achieve.

Stuck in a jam?

Hereกs what I do; I always have some educational or selfmotivational cassette or CD in the car. I even have Internet marketing CDs that I listen to dayin and dayout for 90 minutes (actually mineกs not that long). Thatกs a whole 90 minutes of learning new things every single day, and improving my interpersonal and technical skills constantly. Don’t I like to listen to music while driving? Yes, I do. But the sacrifice has to be there. I now listen to about 15 minutes of music only if I really feel like it.

Chill out with friends?

Hereกs what I do; I tell them not to bother me during the week because I am busy, but I make it a point to get together at least once a fortnight with some really close associates. Because of my attitude, I get curious enquiries like กWhat is it that you’re so busy withก?

And guess what I tell them? I say กLook John, I have found a way I can be financially free in 23 years and I am dedicating my life to it. I know for a fact that I will achieve it, and Iกd like to have you as my partner. If you’re interested to find out more, let me know. Otherwise, don’t stop my progressก.

Excellent prospecting line too, don’t you think?

What about all the household chores that you have? Hey, I have them too. But I know that there are better ways to make use of my time, so I กoutsourceก my laundry, car maintenance and almost everything I can. I know I will probably spend more money than I usually do, but I am intent on กmaking timeก for my home based business.

I stopped watching TV years ago, and even went almost a year without one. However I do go to the cinemas and watch the news, but I just can’t be bothered with watching every season of CSI or the American Idol because I know there are more productive things I can do with my time. Now you may be wondering ‘that’s radical. Do you mean I have to sacrifice my entertainment when I start my own business?ก

No… not really, but you MUST learn to control it. Go to the local bookstore and try getting a book on profiles of really rich and famous people. I guarantee you that youกll find out most of them don’t watch much TV either. The theory of Delayed Gratification states that in order to have any amount of success in life, you must learn to postpone your pleasures until you have achieved your goal. Isn’t it worth sacrificing your TV time for 2 years, and after that, be able to watch your favorite shows on a 56 inch plasma TV, with all the time in the world?

You tell me…

Don’t let the little things rob you of great opportunities. Time is the only common denominator between the rich, the middleclass and the poor. In other words, the only thing the rich and the poor share is that they both have 24 hours a day. Itกs how we make use of our time that will determine how far we go towards achieving our dreams.

Pursue your Dream

Pursue your Dream

by: Sylvia White

It is a well known fact that out of one hundred people who join your home base business, only a very small proportion will continue and pursue their dream to make money online.

WHY ? There are a few reasons why this happens,

1/ Mistrust, 2/ Money, 3/ Understanding, 4/ Time.

1/ The majority of people who search the internet looking for a home based business are moms with small children who can’t go out to work. The unemployed person, and the person who loves the idea of retiring from work and being their own boss.

The problem is ! No one really trusts the internet except those that are already making money. They hear all about the scams and are frightened to trust their instincts as to what is good and what is bad. The internet seems so impersonal and cold when you first start searching.

So what is the best way to get started ! There is no doubt about it, you have to get started if you want to make money online and join the thousands of people that are already making it.

What do you put in the searches to find a business or job ?

Here are a few keywords to help you in your search. Make Money Online, Work at Home, Find a Job, Home Business. Any of these will take you straight to the Home business pages. There are many free to join businesses out there, this gives you the chance to really look at the business and find what sort of help you will receive before committing yourself. Most legitimate businesses will provide you with a mentor, a person to help and guide you on the best way to get started. It does pay to email your mentor and introduce yourself, Let them know that you are serious about starting the business. If they email back promptly with advice then you know that the help you require is really on the other end and likely to be good.

2/ Money: Almost every business will require a payment of some kind if you really want to pursue it. Some require a one off payment, and others monthly. They are always affordable payments and won’t break the bank. This is a normal practice as we already working online know, we made the decision to pay and got started.

3/ Understanding: No matter which business you start you will have doubts about whether you will be able to make your business work. This is understandable as to the normal everyday person there is a chance that all the information that comes from the actual business looks like double dutch. Take things slowly and read each part a couple of times to try and understand it. If this fails then your mentor will be on the other end of an email or possibly your messenger. If he or she wants to keep your interest they will explain it all carefully untill you understand exactly what you need to do. They are there to teach and guide you as they want you to succeed as much as you do. You are their stepping stone to higher things, as your own affiliates will be for you.

4/ Time: Something not a lot of people have. But that is the beauty of the internet, with most programs you can work whenever you have the time to spare, even if its only one hour a day.

And now for the crunch : The only way to be successful on the internet is to have patience. When things don’t seem to be moving and you feel like giving up. Keep at it, don’t let the downs get the better of you. When you reach the bottom there is only one way to go, and that is up. You will succeed with persistence and determination.

We all went through it.

Discover the Lighter Side of the Internet

Discover the Lighter Side of the Internet

by: Jesse S. Somer

The other side of the Internet is light and fluffy. It can definitely turn a dark, gray cloud to white.

We all know the Internet is a great tool for finding out information and sharing knowledge. But as a human sometimes sitting at a computer all day can get quite tedious, especially if it is your job 5 days a week. This feeling can be compounded by other problems in one’s personal life, and the result can mean little productivity because of a sour mood. Well humanity does have a lighter side, and this too can be explored on the Internet. Sometimes a little humor or interesting trivia can really take the edge off a bad moment. You’d be surprised at how much comedy and insight is expressed on the Net. I’ve been exploring what’s out there and I just can’t stop laughing. Laughter of course is the ultimate medicine and some believe it to be the highest form of life. My only warning is don’t get hooked on this stuff as your work ethic will probably become worse than ever!

Now, there’s a lot of stuff on the Net and not all of it is positive humor, but you can surf around the undesirable stuff with ease. To give you an idea of some funny sites I discovered, here is a short list but I’m sure there are thousands of others you can find by doing simple word searches: www.bored.com, www.linkydinky.com, www.chickenjoke.com, www.crazyfads.com, www.crazythoughts.com, www.dancingbush.com, and www.stupidvideos.com. I really advise checking out the last site and watching the video entitled ‘Evil penguin2’. This nearly brought tears to my eyes as I already have a soft spot for penguins.

So, you’ve got jokes, funny videos, kooky trivia, strange thoughts and perspectives on different aspects of life, and even the most ‘powerful’ man on EarthGeorge Bush doing an animated dance imitating John Travolta in ‘Saturday Night Fever’. You’ve really got no reason anymore to sit in front of your computer worrying and wallowing in selfpity. I’ve always thought that humans have put too much emphasis on technological development as opposed to the spiritual side of things. This comedic aspect to the Internet has shown me that people can also be quite clever in more lighthearted endeavors. Some of the ideas on these sites really flip the world upside down and make you question why we do the things the way we do. This could be considered a step forward in our evolution as we see the underlying truths in our cultural systems.

Laughter is the key to humanity reaching a higher level of consciousness. Imagine if everyone on our planet could all be happy enough in one moment to laugh at the same time. The Earth would shake, the seas would rise, and all the animals would stop what they’re doing to join in. The vibration would probably cause a ripple to flow out into space affecting other planetary systems. Then, imagine all the beings of the Universe laughing at one time. We’re talking serious celebrations! We’re talking about black holes folding in on themselves in result of the positive energy wave forces demolishing all negative forces in their path! It’s called the Laughter Revolution, and it might just be the next step for you to take to reach that long awaited goal of happiness. Come on, take a look around, there’s a whole world of funniness just under the surface of our perceived ‘normal’ reality. We have to wake up and smell the cheese…Oh the sweet cheese.

Does Your Marketing Plan Need Changing?

Does Your Marketing Plan Need Changing?

by: Joy Gendusa

Change is good, right? Not always. But when is it bad? Is it a question of good or bad? Sounds philosophical. Maybe it is.

Philosophize on this…why would one take something that is going good – no.. great – and change it? Obvious answer is to make it better. Not!

In business or in marketing, change is not always good. When you have certain promotional actions that are in place making things happen, or in better terms, making you money – don’t change them! Why do I say this? Because I see it time and time again. Someone has a marketing campaign that is bringing in a good return on investment and they up and decide to change their postcard! What?!?!?!?!? Change your postcard – why??????? ขEr uh, we just decided to do something different.ข

And then some three or four months down the road, they call back with their tail between their legs and ask – no demand to have everything back the way it was before. In this latter case – change is good.

I am not just saying that to say that one should always keep their postcard marketing campaign the same and never change it. Quite the contrary. Change your marketing, change your habits, change your way of life when it warrants it. There is really some truth to the old adage ขIf it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.ข Maybe it is human nature to want to change everything once something gets going just the way they planned it. Who the heck knows? All I can say is step outside the humannature box. Change only when things are drastic or when change is warranted.

Drastic circumstances deserve drastic measures. But how do you determine drastic? Sometimes that is really easy. Your company’s income is crashing. Do something! Change! Or better yet, figure out what you changed and get it back to what was working.

How about a plateau? Does that deserve change? Depends on how long that plateau lasts. I have never seen things leveling off and staying level forever. It either goes one of two ways – up or down. I know an optometrist who had a very successful practice in small town USA. He never really marketed. He never really had to. People knew of him from miles around. Mainly he did PR stuff – a fundraiser here, networking there, etc., etc. His good works made him well known and respected and the community ooo’ed and ah’ed over him so much the paper loved printing it.

But things changed. Malls started opening up. People started shopping out of smalltown USA and into the bigger cities. The environment changed. But he didn’t. He still kept a good practice, but you could see something interesting – his gross income started to plateau. And over time – many years – that plateau gradually started to show where it was really going. I actually don’t have to say where – you’ve got the picture.

Now, would that demand drastic measures? Taking into account inflation, cost of living and other factors that are on the rise – yes, I would say that would demand drastic measures. Did he take them? Not until the direness became all too apparent. But yes, he finally did take them. He started postcard marketing his youknowwhat off!

I have another client that is just a dream. They have had the same list for the past 5 years, ever since they have been in business – thirty thousand physical therapists they mailed to over and over and over and over and … They never changed. They figured if it was bringing in the income it was the thing that was working. And it worked and it still works. And today – they made Entrepreneur’s 100 Hot List for 2005.

So, next time you think about changing your marketing plan, look to see if it needs it. Look at your numbers. Are they improving? Declining? If your income is going up – don’t change one single thing. But if it is going down or flat lining – for heaven’s sake, change!

Lucrative & Relaxed Living With Passive Profits

Lucrative & Relaxed Living With Passive Profits

by: Nicholas Drake

Of all the ways people have invented in which to make money, I can’t help thinking that those who can make money while sleeping or being on holiday takes some beating. In the preinternet age, the lucky oneกs would have been famous film or pop stars, successful writers and inventors and some who were just born into super rich families. This group of people having made their films, sung their songs and written their books could afford to sit back and enjoy their repeat fees however they wished.

But what opportunities were there for the rest of us, not blessed with super good looks, angelic voices or effortless talents? The great majority had to go out to work, many with the added privilege of spending hours in traffic jams, on overcrowded trains and buses or struggling in all weathers. Many with boring jobs they hated, overbearing bosses they couldn’t stand and nothing to look forward to except the small respite at the weekend and perhaps a couple of weeks abroad each year if they were lucky. Okay, itกs not really as black and white as that as we know. Many of us have it better than that but I bet not one of you readers have not at some time thought, กWhat if?ก

Well that กWhat if?ก arrived some years ago with the invention of the internet. The opportunity is right here, right now, for pretty much any sane person with a bit of get up and go and the vision to make it happen. Itกs here, right now, in front of your eyes and you don’t even have to move an inch, you can just sit there, and let your fingers do the tapping!

Okay, we have all heard of the so called, กInternet Millionairesก but what did they actually do? Well, many got on the band wagon early and set up their Dot Com travel sites, search engines and so forth but what do we know about travel, search engines or even so forths, (what is a so forth?) Well, not necessarily very much, but it doesn’t matter because there are literally millions of savvy people, quietly tapping away at home right now, building themselves millionaire lifestyles without owning travel sites, search engines and with not a so forth in sight!

How do they do it?

Well not like you might be thinking. Some may enjoy it but I would rather not have to spend my time stuck behind a computer screen all day, dealing with orders and getting bogged down in administration, sounds like work all over again. There are literally thousands of ways people make money on the internet; if you really want to build yourself a serious passive income so you can take the time to do what you really want, then the answer is Don’t sell anything!

Now before you think Iกm crazy Iกll explain. By far one of the easiest and simplest ways to make money is to simply promote something. All you have to do is point people at a website that is selling a good product, then let the owners of that website take over. They will deal with the payments, the stocking of the goods, the shipping, the queries etc. And of course, they are really happy to pay you handsomely for your part. Now the greatest part of all this is, although you have to be prepared to put in some time at the beginning, once you have done the work, the system takes over and no matter what you do, itกs there, quietly making money for you, all over the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Once the system has started up and the passive profits are rolling in, you can choose to just keep a weather eye on things now and again and whenever you feel like it, switch on and create a few more income streams to build an even bigger passive profit. You have got the same chance as those internet millionaires to start right now and make a Lucrative & Relaxed Living With Passive Profits.
