Four Tips For Getting More Mileage From Your Artic

Four Tips For Getting More Mileage From Your Articles

by: Bonnie Jo Davis

It has become common knowledge that the smartest and most effective free method of advertising your business and services is to write and submit articles to the over 400,000 ezines currently on the กnet. There are even several ebooks written on the topic, including mine, that will help you take advantage of this effective technique. What do you do next after youกve invested the hours necessary to research, write, proofread, edit and submit your article to thousands of ezine publishers?

I recommend several methods of recycling articles to clients who utilize my article submission services that Iกm going to share with you today:

1. Publish each of your articles on a separate page on your web site. Then take the keywords from that article that you used in the title and text and create a set of meta tags for that page. Use a free meta tag generator like http://www.anybrowser.com/MetaTagGenerator.html to make sure your meta tags are properly formatted and all inclusive. Next, submit the article page to all of the free search engines. Once that page is indexed those keywords will attract searchers to visit your site where you can convert them to loyal customers.

2. Take the article youกve written and customize it for an industry you want to target. For example, I have a client who writes internet promotion articles. After submission she customizes her articles for real estate agents, accountants, ophthalmologists, home health care companies, etc. I then offer the customized articles to the industry associations representing those groups. This tactic has resulted in hundreds of thousands of fresh, new visitors to her web site when an association prints her customized article in their newsletter or magazine.

3. Choose an article youกve written that outlines several key points on a particular topic. Write an in depth, expanded article on each key point. Contact all the publishers on your list and offer them the expanded key point articles and ask them to run them as a series. A series of articles is much more effective than a single article because each potential customer needs to be exposed to you and your business several times before becoming a customer.

4. Take the original article and the expanded key point articles and offer them as an ecourse to people who visit your site and sign up for your ezine. Use a free autoresponder like http://www.sendfree.com to deliver the articles in sequence. This gives you the opportunity to capture email addresses for your ezine and allows you to use a different byline highlighting your services and products with each article delivery.

Use these four tips every time youกve finished submitting an article and you will get thousands of additional targeted visitors to your web site with just a little extra effort!

Most Commonly Asked Questions About Ezine Publishi

Most Commonly Asked Questions About Ezine Publishing

by: Terri Seymour

Getting so many emails as I do about ezine publishing, I thought maybe an article covering the most asked questions would be useful to some of you who are thinking about or just starting your own ezine.

* What is an Ezine?

An ezine is simply an electronic newsletter or magazine mailed periodically to a list of optin subscribers. Optin means that these subscribers have signedup for or requested to receive your ezine.

A good ezine will contain lots of useful information and resources for the subscribers.

* Who Do I Send My Ezine To?

You obtain a list of subscribers by advertising and promoting your ezine in several ways.

Announcement lists Follow guidelines for posting and get some fr~e exposure!

http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ListPOP

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Announce_Your_Group

Writing Articles Definitely something you want to get into. Very powerful method of fr~e promotion!

Ad swaps Running other publishersก ads in exchange for them running yours is a great way to get a lot of fr~e ezine advertising, plus you get to make new friends as well! 😉

http://www28.brinkster.com/bluesite/swap.htm

http://ezineswap.com/

Sigtag Always add a sigtag to your email with your subscribe link and an attention grabbing headline about your ezine. Very effective!

Discussion Lists Similar to announcement lists, but get involved in the discussions as often as possible.

mailto:[email protected]

mailto:[email protected]

Message Boards Similar to discussion groups. Establish yourself as an expert who is there to help.

http://www.mcpromotions.com/webbbs/webbbs_config.pl?#156

Joint Ventures Exchange thank you page ads with other publishers, participate in group pop under windows, swap publisher ads in your welcome letters to your subscribers. Be creative with joint ventures to dramatically increase your subscriber list!

* How Do I Mail My Ezine?

There are several ways you can mail out your ezine.

Autoresponder A favorite of many publishers because you are able to send out several followups.

http://www.getresponse.com/index/47152

Email Server When you are first starting using your email server is an easy and inexpensive way to mail our your newsletter.

Mailing List Manager After your list grows, I recommend you purchase an easy and effective mailing list manager.

http://hop.clickbank.net/?webcentral/lightning

Web Host When you buy your domain, you also get a mailserver from which you can send out your ezine. Your subscribe address would be something like:

mailto:[email protected]

Yahoo and Topica, etc Fr~e mailing list managers like these are a good way to get started on a tight budget. I used Yahoogroups way back when they were onelist? and then egroups. I never had any major problems with them, but eventually wanted to take control of my own list.

* What Do I Put in My Ezine?

Lots of good resources, helpful information, a little fun, motivational stories, original or guest articles, product or affiliate program reviews, freebies, etc. You must also add your personality to your ezine. That is what makes your ezine special! Write an editorial so your readers can get to know you and can interact with you. Let your ideas flow and make your ezine interesting and unique!

* Why Should I Publish an Ezine?

Publishing an ezine is important to your business because it enables you to keep in contact with the people who are interested in your website, your product and you. You can build a solid foundation of trust and respect on which to base your business success!

Answering all questions in detail is quite impossible in one article, but I hope I have covered some of the main points that you might be curious about. If I have not answered a question you may have, feel fr~e to contact me anytime. Thank you.

Home Office Tip Part 2…Computer Health Hazards.

Home Office Tip Part 2…Computer Health Hazards.

by: BB Lee

Home office stress related injuries are escalating. Along with carpal tunnel syndrome, eye strains, neck strains, back related problems. Letกs face it, if you are behind the keys more than a few hours a week you will suffer one or more of the above problems.

Neck Strains.

Have you noticed that your neck is stiff after a long day at the computer? Well, the trouble might be your monitor height. Your monitor should be eye level so you will not have to constantly lower, raise, and crook your neck to view the screen.

Exercise Tip:

Try rotating your your shoulders back several times and then forward for several more times to reduce stress. Then slowly turn your head side to side several times.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Also called repetitive motion injury is on the increase. Why? Because of the new technology, computers are faster than ever. This leads to more keystrokes which equals more injuries. That numbness in your wrist or hands might be a warning that you are suffering from this injury. Try purchasing one of the gel pads you can rest your hands on while at the keyboard. This will help tremendously.

Purchase ergonomically made wrist rest and mouse pads available at most office supply stores to help ease tension and chance of injury.

Correct posture will help too. Keep your feet flat on the floor, your kneeกs parallel to the floor, your back straight, your upper arms dropping straight down, with elbows to the side and at the same height as your keyboard.

Exercise Tip:

Try exercising at the computer. Rotate your wrist in circles for several minutes. Give them a brisk massage afterwards.

Back Problems.

Make sure your desk chair is adjusted properly. It should fit the contours of your back and you should be able to move about easily. Many back problems are caused by badly structured chairs.

Exercise Tip:

Stand and stretch gently palms overhead to the sky. Hold for a few seconds and then relax. This will loosen up tense back muscles.

Blurred Vision:

Make sure your light sources are not reflected off your monitorกs screen. Glare and refection off the monitor can cause eye problems leading to blurred vision.

Exercise Tip:

Roll your eyes up and then look down. Blink and then close your eyes. Do this several times to relieve strain. Remember to look away from your monitor frequently and to take more breaks to rest your eyes

5 Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Site

5 Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Site

by: Jennifer Tripp

One thing you can never have too much of online is web site traffic. If you’re looking for ways to drive more visitors to your site, try these traffic generating tips…

TRAFFIC TIP #1: Develop Several Pages Focused On Particular Keywords

Search Engine specialists don’t recommend using external doorway or gateway pages, since sites are being penalized for having duplicate pages. Instead, develop several webpages on your site, each of which is focused on a different keyword or key phrase. For example, rather than listing all your services on a single webpage, try developing a separate one for each. These pages will rank higher for their keywords since they contain targeted rather than general content. And since not many people are doing this yet youกll find itกs possible to get several top 10 rankings.

TRAFFIC TIP #2: Pay Super Affiliates To Promote Your Site

Hand pick webmasters with popular sites or list owners with large, responsive lists and offer them $100 just for signing up for your affiliate program and promoting your link. With this approach you’ll definitely get their attention and ensure that you sign up real affiliates who will actively promote your products and services. Even just 3 or 4 of these affiliates can cause a substantial increase in your site’s traffic (and your sales!).

TRAFFIC TIP #3: Give Away Your Product Or Service To Influential People

In every target market there is a group of people who are the ขinfluencersข. They’re the ones who like to try new products and are very outspoken when they find something they like. The best way to reach these people is to start a word of mouth advertising campaign. Do this by giving away early versions of your product or service to the influencers in your industry and encourage them to spread the word to everyone they know.

TRAFFIC TIP #4: Create An Advergame Specific To Your Site

Advergames are small online games designed to drive traffic to your site based on their entertainment value. As their name suggests their purpose is to advertise your website, product or service in a fun way. If you design one that becomes popular it can create a substantial amount of traffic to your site. Make the most of this by requiring people to give their name and email address before they can play so that you can follow up with them later. The best part is if your game is fun and unique people will tell everyone they know. What a great viral technique!

TRAFFIC TIP #5: Do A Direct Mail Campaign Using Postcards

Postcards have become a favorite advertising method of online marketers because they’re easy to design, inexpensive and they almost always get read. The added bonus is that not only does the recipient read it but often so do several other people along the way. To get started with a postcard campaign use your current customer list and send them a special offer. Another option is to find someone with a list and ask if you can pay them per postcard to send your offer. Or, find a reputable list company and purchase a list of potential customers. Remember though, like all advertising you can’t send one card and expect a flood of orders. Create a campaign that includes a minimum of 3 cards to get the maximum benefit.

Can A Ping Really Help Your Blog Get Top Search En

Can A Ping Really Help Your Blog Get Top Search Engine Rankings?

by: Tinu AbayomiPaul

It’s been all over the SEOstudent rumor mill for weeks now, and has finally made it into my Inbox – in droves.

The new gettrafficquick scheme for search engine results has arrived – flooding ping notification sites with update announcements, even though your blog hasn’t been updated.

The question is does this or some variation of it work? If not, where did this idea come from?

Okay, bad news first.

Pinging sites like Yahoo and Syndic8 every halfhour for several days or weeks, to notify of updates when they haven’t been made, does nothing but clog up the system. It’s called spampinging and it has been around since 2002.

If you haven’t updated your blog, or you’re pinging updates of a site that isn’t even a blog (or RSS feed, where applicable), in the long run it’s just going to make it harder to get listed at these sites.

In the short run, you could get yourself banned from sites like Yahoo, though it isn’t officially their policy to drop sites for spampinging.

Yet.

True, not all sites that have recently updated lists you can ping to be on are set up to block pings of sites that aren’t updated. But they’ve found ways to block certain sites and users before – it’s only a matter of time.

So even in the unlikely event that you could find some way to make this work temporarily, you’d just be setting yourself up to be dropped, in as little as a day in some cases.

So if this method doesn’t work, why are there tools available to help you flood these directories?

Well, let’s look at the situation logically.

Until the middle of 2004, certain adult web properties were able to create several bogus blog sites – in particular, blogspot.com. They’d found that the links leading back to them from those sites helped their page rank in Google, as well as their search results placement.

Although Google got wise to them and closed this loophole by fall of this past year, several legitimate blog sites have found that they continue to enjoy high rankings for some keywords that are easier to get. Some people erroneously assume that it’s because their updates appear on Weblogs.com and/or in Blogger’s Most Recently Updated pages several times a day.

Having noticed that occasionally, they would get spidered around the same time they posted, they realized that there was a correlation between pinging and better search engine listings.

And they’re not completely wrong – there is a parallel. But a parallel is not a cause. It’s just one facet of the relationship between blogs and getting better results in Yahoo, Google and MSN.

Their frequency of updates had something to do with their rankings, yes. But it is not what guarantees they get spidered – and if the blog isn’t set up to take advantage of the visit from the search engine spiders, they don’t get listed.

To begin to have an understanding of how to get similar results for your site, you have to look at the bigger picture. Spampinging isn’t going to do it, and as I’ve said in other articles, there are other ethical, faster, simpler ways to do this.

So what is this bigger picture?

First of all, blogs have a natural tendency to rank higher in search engines because they

Have wellstructured site architecture

Make use of anchor text linking

Are well linked,

Are frequently updated, and,

Are focused tightly around a narrow theme, among other things.

Couple this with the ease of being able to get oneway links from several sites favored by the search engines, and you have twothirds of the formula for a wellranked blog.

However, just because these sites appear on publicly displayed ping notification lists and other sites that keep abreast of blog updates, this doesn’t mean that you can get away with pinging them without updating your site.

It also doesn’t mean that sites that have authentically updated and sent pings will appear in Google, Yahoo or MSN simply from being frequently updated.

The good news is, you don’t need to deluge the ping sites to get noticed. Doing so is often a waste of time, and may be a harmful one.

Your best bet for now is to continue to achieve your natural search engine position through blogging, basic search engine optimization, and a common sense approach to frequent updates.

And yes, by the way, there IS an ethical way to get into search engines and achieve high rankings with a blog, but it’s not a matter of volume. It’s more a matter of timing, supply and demand. But explaining that process takes a level of detail and an amount of space not available here.

Sphinx of Gizeh: Surprising Human FACE image in ae

Sphinx of Gizeh: Surprising Human FACE image in aerial photo

by: Ramon Ramonet Riu

I discover in Sternกs aerial photo a new HUMAN FACE image carved very near of the Maadi hill, and also equidistant of the mysterious Sphinx of Gizeh. This proximity is very important. Itกs not a casuality because the causeway to the biggest pyramids there WAS NO OPEN, due the ancient wall at the queen Khenthawes กPyramid Villageก.

In Gizeh plateau the causeway to the biggest pyramids remain closed ever since. So the face only was admired from the air (About the necessary helicopter, or similar fly engine, see in GOOGLE writing: helicopter Abydos temple).

In this new Gizehกs face see also a small mound in the middle of his front (between กeyesก) like the indian people decorate a red ‘third Eyeก. By the way, perhaps is possible that the great orbits of its กeyesก are collapses due some hollow inside? This signal point appears also in the Mt. Montserratก s face from a NASA photosatellite. So, all is more enigmatic yet.

With my new discovery in Gizeh, perhaps will be possible to help the ever supposed correlation between the most greater pyramids in Gizeh plateau and other several ancient monuments in the western Nile river? Not only with the กKhenthawes Tombก, very near of the discovered FACE, but also with the Orion constellation (called ‘the celestial Nileก).

Between the Sphinx and Maadi formation appears this tranquil huge face in aerial view. Mechanical meteorization of stone or sand was not responsible for the apparition ofthis face never presented before me. Was carved in Gizeh plateau deliberately, without geomorphology intervention.

The same phenomenon reproduced by the last sun of the afternoon is drawed in several pictures fron Egypt ancient art. Similar phenomenon appears in the maya pyramidtemple of ChichenItzá (Yucatán). There a serpent head every equinoce is ligthed by the last sun. The firts one allmost in the flor, and six month later in the top of the same pyramid, but in oposite side. So the maya people symbolised that god Kukulkan, after live some time in our world, back to the sky.

Due the equidistant measurement from Maadi hill to the three pyramidss, I suppose that there is somthing to be found beneath the sand and debris that was accumulated at the base of the Maadi hill during several millennia… Perhaps it was a very sophisticated solution to place there a cemetery near of the entrance to the Maadi caves?.

The ancient Egypt priest they did remember something about the กsunlight phenomenon with the Godกs faceก, because the god RA, in his ancient art ever show a big cercle over his head (the sun).

Other prove of the something underground of this new new HUMAN FACEกS IMAGE in the Gizeh plateau: this dessing during the last year has all my attention, and so I try to กplayก in my PC with กPhotoshop 6 programก. First I change the color from a very ancient photo copied from a review and I obtained very surprising effects. See my webside, please.

More intentionality examples: In Dendera wallกs temple, Athorกs face was carved and painted illuminated mysteriously by a sunbeam. FACE and SUN both are there reversed (regarding the other carved scene). So, the ancient scenography below suffer great damage. Itกs full of simbolism.

About this new phenomenos of huge images of face never serched before my, there are more examples in my website, and others one conected by severals links:

http://es.geocities.com/rrriu03/Egypt

See also similars phenomenon of several human face in aerial view in other Holy Mountains in the world. For instance in my web:

http://es.geocities.com/ramonramonetriu/supercaras

In my book: LA CARA HUMANA DE MONTSERRAT (The Human Face of Montserrat), Ed. in 1990, which I finally I have made the photolites and selfedited, since the publishing house were unable to do it. Also the distribution, photos and sales, were all done by myself, and for this reason itกs probably the last one of the กartisanก books in the western world.

In my book I have collected together ideas about God and Evil which I assimilated over more than a decade, beginning at the same time as my discovery of the huhe image of human face which appears in the aerial view of the Montserrat mountain.

the image of a very circumspected bearded man (these aerial photos were part of the information gathered by a NASA satellite).

The second part I try to summarising, as briefly as possible, all that I discovered written about asses over a period of more than 50 centuries all moralising done in light and amusing way. The only connection between such varied themes is the biblical scene ‘the Balamกs assก.

Other huge Human Face image was กexcavatedก in the top of several mountains in Sinai peninsula. It look like a กwarriorก bust (and with two กhornsก on his head). The right one, today itกs already dificult to detect throught the photosatellite. This human bust was of the egyptian god Seth. This huge dessign show also a wide necklace adormment.

The egyptian god Seth, whom the greeks called Tiphon and identify with the figure of an ass, is the key of the symbolism. My subliminal intention was to refiried on God and Evil, because in the classical mediterranean culture the ass represented the horned egyptian god Seth, the forerunner of the figure later called Satan (Obiously I did not was well understood).

Steer Clear of the Internet Traffic Jam

Steer Clear of the Internet Traffic Jam

by: Jason Blackston

Yesterday, I got stuck in a traffic jam. It wasn’t the first time and unfortunately won’t be the last time! 5 miles of bright beaming red tail lights flickering in my eyes. Just the thought of it makes me kind of nauseas. Especially, when all I was trying to do was go to the grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk!

I’ve noticed my offline experiences sometimes mimic my online experiences. You see, the internet offers us the opportunity to travel in millions of different directions. Yet, many times we get stuck in an internet traffic jam………

A super information highway with people going in several different directions. However, many times those directions lead to a crash. Yes, it sounds crazy but it’s absolutely true! When I first became an internet marketer, I tried several different methods to generate traffic to my sites. Here were a couple of methods that I implemented:

FFA Pages

Safelists

Please note that I am only expressing my opinions and experiences below:

FFAFree For All pages are sites with links to several other sites. The object is to list your site to these pages which will bring traffic to your site and increase your popularity in the search engines. Generally, it’s just a plain web page with little links to several other sites. You are lured into thinking that you’re going to direct people to your site and become popular. Well, not so fast my friend!

The people who run these sites ask you to register by entering your email address. This way they are able to personally market to you over and over again. I’m not saying that people haven’t had success with FFA pages but it can definitely be a difficult task.

While you get to list a link to your site with a little blurb, these sites are so popular that you often get pushed right off the page in a short amount of time! Plus, I noticed that most people don’t take the time to look at a page with thousands of little links on it anyway!

It’s kind of like being in your car in a traffic jam on a beautiful day. The sun is out, and the flowers are in full bloom, but all you see are the tail lights right in front of you!

My experiences with safelists are similar to FFA pages. Safelists are email advertisements. The only reason they are กsafeก is because the people who join them agree that in order to send out information about their product or program they must also accept email from other members of the safelist.

This leads to several thousand emails flooding into your inbox on a daily basis! Once again, I found myself in an internet traffic jam! All I wanted to do was show people my products and site, not just hope and wish that they would open my email or click on my links.

Now, I avoid the internet traffic jam, by steering clear of FFA pages and Safelists.

Copywriting Is Not OneSizeFitsAll

Copywriting Is Not OneSizeFitsAll

by: Karon Thackston

I was in shock. Honestly, I shook my head when I read his email. I meant no disrespect; I just couldn’t believe he really felt that way.
ขKaron, I want you to write the sales letter for my site. How much will it cost me?ข read his note. After looking at his home page and evaluating his target audience, I didn’t feel a sales letter would be the best type of copy for his site. When I sent him my suggestion he replied with something along the lines of, ขNo sales letter? What other kind of copy is there?ข
Was he a fan of sales letters? No, not especially. Did his question come with a sarcastic tone? No, it was a genuine question. A lot of what he had been exposed to online was sales letters. So much so that he thought this was the *only* type of copy to have on a website. That’s what all the ขgurusข were telling him, so it must be true. Even though he had been to countless sites that did not have sales letters, he never realized the differences.
I pointed him to several sites that had a wide range of copy to show him some of the other styles.
Catalog Copy (one of my favorite types to write!) http://www.gortonsfreshseafood.com
Long Sales Copy http://www.copywritingcourse.com
Short Sales Copy http://www.landmarkcreations.com
Brochure Copy http://www.toyota.com
Shopping Cart Copy http://www.amazon.com (works especially well for books)
Of course, these are just a few. What was his response? ขNow I feel stupid! Of course, there are several types of copy. I don’t know why I thought I had to have one particular kind for my site.ข
From there we worked together to better understand his audience and create copy that would appeal to them.
Copywriting is not onesizefitsall. I’m not saying sales letters don’t work. Like every other type of copy, they do, given the right environment and the right product/service. What I am saying is you shouldn’t box yourself in by assuming you *have* to have a particular type of copy. Just because one style of writing works well with someone else’s site doesn’t mean it is right for yours. Just because another person is selling a similar product or service doesn’t mean you have the same audience… therefore it doesn’t mean you should use the same type of copy.
In fact, there may be several different types of copy that work equally well for your site/customer. After all, diversity is part of advertising. Take the time to investigate your product, service, and customer then research copywriting styles. When you do, you’ll likely discover that you have several options. Test those options in order to find the one that pulls the best response. *That’s* the type of copy that works best for your site.
