Systems Marketing Your Business Successfully

Systems Marketing Your Business Successfully

by: Michael A Fowler, M.B.A.

Business Systems that work for anyone, are a fundamental necessity for any networking venture. While most people rely upon their own company business system or plan for success, there is always a different option.

The three fundamental elements of any system are; Replication, Duplication and most of all Retention.

A newbie or seasoned veteran, should be able to replicate with a good system and duplicate the actions of those gone before him/her. When that is achieved, the retention becomes greater, as the new representative or affiliate can actually see his/her success happen.

There are many กmarriages of convenienceก that take place on the Internet. This is normally a merger of two different businesses. One is normally a feeder program that fuels the main business. When done correctly, the feeder should also produce a ROI (Return on Investment).

Streamlining the two, so that they merge and flow to the maximum advantage, is done by observation and experience and finding the right blend. The right promotional tools are also very important in your choice.

In order to have the replication element, you also need an action plan. Something that you can pass down to others, so that they can duplicate what you have done. If this is done correctly, it can save a lot of time and effort, produce outstanding results and retain all your associates.

Being creative in your marketing and leading from the front, with a good system, will make all the difference to your future success.

Effective Online Advertising Tips

Effective Online Advertising Tips

Helpful Tips for Increasing Your Online Sales

Once you’ve launched your eCommerce web site, you’ll need to show it off to the online world. Whether you’re paying someone to submit your site to all the major and minor search engines and directories, it’s still up to you to continually advertise your eCommerce site in order to keep attracting business.

Many online business owners will tell you that within six to nine months of your launch date you’ll start seeing increased orders for your products. However here are 8 things you can do to lure people to your site now!

Advertise on http://www.Craigslist.org . This entry will only last for 10 days and you must submit to only one city and category at a time. You can include photos and/or advanced HTML in your ad.

Write a press release and send out for free to the following sites:

http://www.prweb.com [this one has been around for several years]

http://www.prbot.com

http://www.openpress.com

http://www.expresspressrelease.com

http://www.freepressrelease.com

http://www.prleap.com

http://www.prfree.com

Paid submissions will get you more views, quicker listings in the search engines, and the ability to post photos and keep track of your statistics.

Submit your site[s] to http://www.isedb.com/html/Web_Directories [You’ll discover loads of directories here, from the highly specialized to the mainstream. Many of the sites have ratings; indicate whether they’re accepting new submissions, and if there’s a fee for submitting].

Search engine positioning. When advertising your eCommerce site, always have the following information on hand: A. Your Web site title. This should be approximately 712 words.B. Description. Have 3 different descriptions of varying lengths. 15 words, 25 words, 100 words. Have them summarize the essence of your site. C. Keywords. 10 – 50 of your most important keywords arranged in order of importance. Again, some online directories will allow you to contribute more keywords than others.

Write articles about your products/service. Be an online expert. What makes your site so unique from the thousands of others in your chosen category? Is it your customized service? Your low prices? Your high quality? Don’t over promote your product, but concentrate on what will help others. It’s highly recommended you include at least two or three testimonials.

Exchange links with other sites that have quality information and are related to your field in some way. For example, I sell a lot of soap so I link with mostly gift basket, crafting and candle sites.

Free classifieds. While these can sometimes get you sales or your listed in the search engines, don’t expect too much response from them.

Offer a freebie. For example, if you have an eBook for sale, you won’t give the entire book away, but having a chapter or two online will increase interest – and sales. If you make or sell a product, offer a free sample with a paid order. Or free shipping on sales over a certain amount.

Contests reel ‘em in! Not only will you get their email address for future offers, [but ask that they opt in to your mailing list first], but you can give away a product or service of yours and look good doing so. Also, this is a good time to send out a press release and let the online community know about your special contest that runs for only a short time, thus generating more publicity.

Follow one or more of these helpful tips and watch your online business bloom!

Don’t Use FFAกs To Build Your Newsletter Subscribe

Don’t Use FFAกs To Build Your Newsletter Subscriber

by: Dean Phillips

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, The initials FFA stand for กFREE For Allก and my advice would be don’t waste your time! FFAกs DON’t WORK!

FFA sites are directories where anyone can place their ad for free. And thatกs exactly what you geta zillion people posting free ads.

When you post your ad on an FFA directory or site, hereกs what will happen. Youกll immediately get back in response to your ad a truckload of autoresponder emails from every Tom, Dick and Harriet soliciting you to join their programs. Hardly anyone ever actually reads your ad. FFAกs will produce next to zero new subscribers to your newsletter.

Here are some suggestions to help you build your newsletter subscriber list:

1. Put a subscriber box on your web site. People can easily enter their email address and send it to you. A percentage of people who visit your web site will sign up for your newsletter. Just don’t scare them off by asking for a lot of personal information. Put their minds at ease by promising not to share their email address with anyone else.

2. Announce your newsletter in the ezine announcement directories. There are several sites with searchable catalogues of ezines. These sites get lots of visitors and are a surefire way to find hundreds of new subscribers. Here are a few to get you started:

http://www.ezineuniverse.com

http://www.escribe.com

http://www.ezinemarketing.com

3. Trade ads with other ezines. Find newsletters that focus on topics similar to yours. Theyกll run your ad in exchange for you running theirs.

4. Consider emailing a press release to the media. Your release should announce your newsletter and explain whatกs interesting or helpful about your newsletter. There are a number of press release services that will email your release. Here are just a few:

http://www.ereleases.com

http://www.majon.com

http://www.majornewswire.com

http://submitexpress.com

Whatever you do, DON’t add people to your newsletter list who haven’t asked to be on it. The spam gods will come down on you like a ton of bricks! Thatกs why many newsletter publishers insist on double optin. Whatกs double optin?

Double optin is your protection against the sending of unsolicited email. For example, after visitors register at your site, they will receive a confirmation email. By replying to the confirmation email, your visitors have กdouble optedinก which means that:

1. They are the owners of their email addresses

2. The address is working

3. They indeed want to subscribe

Usually the confirmation action is as simple as replying to the confirmation request or clicking on a link.

How To Write Email Messages For Phenomenal Result

How To Write Email Messages For Phenomenal Results

by: Ewen Chia

Would you be interested in getting 10 times better results from your current email marketing campaigns?
While the above is a hypothetical figure, it sure got your attention didn’t it…
Though most successful marketers use email marketing as an incomegenerator, only the ultra successful are truly maximizing their profits with it.
What sets them apart? And more importantly, how can you create profitpulling solo emails that put thousands more into your bank account fast?
It’s no rocket science. You’ve basically got to get your readers excited and give them a reason to respond quickly.
There IS a simple formula to achieve this. It’s nothing revolutionary, in fact it’s…
..the same darn formula for writing good copy!
Look, if you want to experience increased sales from all your email promotions, start writing your solos based on the ageold formula known as…
..AIDA!
The basics of copywriting must be applied anywhere words are used to gather responses, especially in your emails.
Here’s a quick look at how you can structure your messages using AIDA as a guide:
1. A Attention
Create subject lines that get your emails opened. Think of this as the headline of your ad as any good copywriter would tell you.
Grab the attention of your rea.ders by using curosity, fear, happiness etc.
An example : ขHave you heard about…ข
Heard about what? They’ll want to find out…
Extend such attentiongrabbers to the first sentence or paragraph of your message body to encourage further reading…
2. I Interest
Once you’ve got their attention, it’s time to get them interested in your message.
An easy way to do this is to simply highlight or ‘create a problem’ they may be experiencing. This puts them on alert and peaks their interest.
For instance, you could highlight the pains of how getting hundreds of spams daily could affect their business, and how there’re no good solutions in sight…
3. D Desire
The ‘desire’ section of your message is where you introduce your proposed ‘solution’ to the problem stated.
Fact is, people need solutions to problems. To be an ultrasuccessful email marketer, your job is simply to give them what they want!
4. A Action
Getting your rea.ders to take positive action, to act on your message, is probably the most important part of your entire campaign.
But a high response rate is only possible if you’ve created the flow of Attention, Interest and Desire successfully.
To encourage immediate action, you should tie a specific deadline or give ‘scarcity’ to the solution you’re offering. For example, a 40% discount for the next 2 days only. Let them know that if they miss this dea.dline, the discount would end and they would have to pay a higher price for the same solution.
Hereกs another tip to squeeze more mileage from all your email promotions: http://tinyurl.com/2soof
Use the AIDA formula today in all your email campaigns, you’ll love the phenomenal results and extra profits from doing so!

Success Guaranteed With Your Opt In List

Success Guaranteed With Your Opt In List

by: Ron Pioneer

Some time ago I was thinking about the best and most foolproof way to earn great income on internet. I came to conclusion that success in internet marketing can be reached with my own opt in list. That is why I wrote this article.

In my search for ways to build my own successful opt in list I came to several conclusions how to build an opt in list that buys. In this article I will reveal you four ways to add subscribers to your opt in list and profit from them(guaranteed) Read on…

The 4 ways to build your opt in list that Iกm writing about youกll be able to use in your own opt in list building efforts. Read this article carefully because it may show you a way to profit from internet like you never thought you can before.

Here are the four ways how you can build your opt in list:

1) Buying or renting a list of subscribers for your opt in list.

You can buy subscribers for your opt in list or you can rent a list of emails for one mailing. This is the fastest method to build your opt in list.

2) Signing up for coregistration services.

With coregistration services other people build your opt in list for you. They usually cost $0.10 $0.30 for a subscriber. With them you can expect 50 300 subscribers to your opt in list daily.

3) Build your list using articles.

Using articles is my favorite method to build my opt in list. You can write articles and give them to newsletter publishers to publish them. This way you gain instant exposure and have new subscribers sign up on your opt in list.

4) Using joint ventures to build your opt in list.

Joint ventures are an effective way to build your opt in list. When used right they can add hundreds of subscribers to your list daily. The best part they are 100% FREE.

Each of these points illustrate how you can build your opt in list. Thereกs really not a way you can NOT earn money from your opt in list. If you build your opt in list and keep relationships with your subscribers your opt in list WILL bring you income.

The greatest way I have found to build relationships with subscribers is offering them a free course. There are lots of places you can find FREE prewritten courses which you can offer to your subscribers.

The prewritten courses that you can send to your subscribers contain in context links to affiliate program / programs you are affiliated with. You earn income when the person follows your in context affiliate link and buys from it.

What I wrote in this article reflects my experience with my opt in list. I hope you find this article worthwhile and learned something from it.

Remember, if you build your opt in list and are persistent there is really no way how you can not earn money on internet. Keep that in mind and also… sign up for my list building course.

The Lazy Manกs Way To Riches

The Lazy Manกs Way To Riches

by: Dean Phillips

The title of this article also happens to be the title of one of the greatest ads of all time, written by a man named Joe Karbo.

Joe was was one of the foremost copywriters, headline writers and direct response experts of all time.

Joe established precedents, and built the foundation for todayกs direct response industrybecoming a self made millionaire in the process.

Joeกs ads for the กLazy Manก ran for years in every major newspaper and magazine in the United States… and most large foreign papers as well. The ads themselves became famous. The ads were…and still are studied, examined, dissected, and used as models for direct response marketing and selling throughout the world.

He reveals all of his secrets in ‘the Lazy Manกs Way To Riches,ก a classic book that is Joeกs philosophy on life and how to live it richly, successfully, lovingly, joyously and… lazily.

‘the Lazy Manกs Way To Riches,ก is the largest selling…self published book in the world…NEVER in a bookstore…

Thereกs only one problem. Thereกs no such thing as a กlazy manกs way to riches!ก Yes, the book itself does exist. And it was a runaway success. However, short of winning the lottery or inheriting a fortune, there is no such thing as a lazy manกs way to riches!

All of the successful people I know are far from lazy. In fact, some of the most successful people I know work the longest hours.

Take me for instance. Most mornings I get up at six oกclock, because I can’t wait to get started. And most nights, I don’t get offline until around 10 or 11:00.

Now by my calculations, those are 16 or 17 hour hour work days. But it doesn’t seem like work to me at all, because Iกm doing what I love. And thatกs the whole point! Iกm not putting in those hours because I have to, Iกm doing it because I want to.

Why? Because I live by a certain philosophy which is:

กAny success you achieve will be in direct proportion to your desire and determination. The more desire and determination you have, the greater will be your success.ก

The above philosophy (which I coined, by the way), keeps me focused and hungry. Oh sure, I could work an hour or two on my computer every day and goof off the rest of the time. And do you know what would happen to my earnings? They would plummetas would the earnings of most of my collegues, if they started playing more than working.

Don’t get me wrong. I still enjoy life. I take vacations twice a year. I drive a nice luxury car. I have a beautiful home.

But I did not get those things from being lazy. And the majority of successful people did not get to the top by being lazy either.

So contrary to popular belief, you can get rich, but you do have to work at it!

Part 1 of 5 How กPipe Dreamsก Can Become Realiti

Part 1 of 5 How กPipe Dreamsก Can Become Realities!

by: Jon Kogan

Take a look at yourself inside and out. Where do you live what job do you have, how do you relate to your friends and family? What interests do you pursue, what adventures do you have?
What do you truly want from life? Do you want wealth and success, happiness and peace of mind? Do you want a family and a yard, a yacht or a sports car? Where are you going? Do you have a particular goal or are you just wandering through life?
You can accomplish anything you want in life thatกs true. Once you have a particular goal, you can fulfill that desire by straightforward commitment and total conviction.
But what if you don’t know what you want? Maybe your goals are small ones like losing some weight, or buying a new car. Maybe getting a promotion of finding a mate. Whether you want a bigger apartment or want to be a corporation president, any avenue of prosperity and achievement is open to you if it is truly what you want.
No goal is too small; no dream is too big. And even if you aren’t clear on your desires, you can tap into your subconscious mind to get the answers and to find the paths to success.
Can you change your life do you want to? Can you picture yourself as your most perfect image of accomplishment? How does it feel? If you have the desire to attain goals, the commitment to follow through and the ability to creatively imagine yourself in the position you dream of, you are more than halfway there.
The most successful leaders and artists throughout history have followed specific paths and attained their heartsก desires. Keep an open mind and a hopeful outlook then change your thinking. Put on the clothes of success. Act as though you already have accomplished your desires. Then let the reality catch up.
WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Take a choice: money, health, physical energy, beauty, power, recognition, adventure, contentment, achievement, authority, selfexpression, love, peace of mind, enlightenment. Would you like any of these? If you are like most people today, you probably want ALL of these.
But if you search your true desires, you might find that there are a few things you want more than others. And, if you keep going in your search, youกll find one desire that has been with you your whole lifetime and is the one path you need to follow.
Although money is the obvious desire, it is usually not the final goal. Indeed, money can, and does buy happiness up to a point. Once you have enough money to be financially secure or to purchase the material objects you want, the true desire might be something else.
Love is the goal of every personกs heart. Whether it is love of a mate, or a family, or respect and recognition from peers and fellow workers, love is the ageless pursuit. The mystics say that love is the sole purpose of life to give love and to find it.
But love comes in many forms. Not only is there the overt display of affection or true inner feelings, but there is the selfrespect and inner contentment that goes with accomplishment. For some people, true peace of mind will never be attained until they complete some creative tasks or achieve certain heights in business.
Many people seek the authority that comes with a good position in a job. Along with that can come recognition and fame. Although you may want the money that is associated with high management levels, many people simply seek that satisfaction of working from the inner circles.
The goal of every person regardless of background and material desires, is health. A sound body is the gift that will get you to the other goals. Even a new diet and exercise plan can give you more energy the energy youกll need to accomplish success.
Adventure and travel is a driving force for many people. They may seek jobs that involve travel, or they may be looking forward to taking time off to visit the exotic ports and see the other side of the world. If you don’t want a long journey perhaps youกd just like a few weeks in a sunny resort or the luxury of a summer and winter vacation each year.
And then there is creativity and selfexpression. What about the book you’re going to write or the watercolor class youกd like to take? Creative expression is a wonderful inner release that boosts confidence and gives you something to accomplish.
Finally, regardless of wealth and health, expression and love everyone is looking for peace of mind. Thatกs not to say emptiness of mind, but to be rid of petty worries and confusion, to be finished with fears and live in total awareness. It surely is the ultimate lifetime goal.

Seminar Business Marketing and Promotion

Seminar Business Marketing and Promotion

by: Matt Bacak

Seminar Business Marketing and Promotion

When you feel like you’re always busy working on your business, but not getting where you want to go, it can be frustrating trying to figure out how to get your marketing on track. It can easily become a ขnot seeing the forest for the treesข feeling.

Here are three big barriers I regularly come across with business owners and how you can avoid them.

1. No Clear Definition of Success

For some, the word Success brings thoughts of fame and fortune to mind. But for small businesses, Iกd caution against this definition being your guiding light. When clarifying your own definition of success, I suggest starting with success from your clientกs point of view.

What is it that you are trying to do for your clients? What is it that theyกll have or be able to do as a result of buying your service from you? Match this up with what you are passionate about. What is it that you love doing for your clients? Iกll know Iกm successful when my clients no longer have to struggle with how to consistently attract more business.

2. Not Clarifying Who Your Ideal Clients Are

When you can clarify who your ideal clients are, you are better prepared to know where to find them and how to market to them. You can develop messages that will appeal directly to them.

What do you know about your best clients? Spend some time to put together as complete of a profile as you can on the clients you enjoy working with the most. What are the demographics and characteristics? How would you describe them to someone who has never met them?

Without clarity of your ideal clients, you’re likely to waste time, effort, and money marketing to the wrong crowd(s) and/or not getting your message across.

3. Not Spelling Out Your Unique Value

You must be able to clearly define what differentiates you from your competitors. If your prospects can’t differentiate you from all the competitive alternatives in the marketplace, then why would they come to buy from you?

Often for small businesses itกs not that they’re not unique, itกs just that they haven’t spent the time to evaluate and clearly describe how and why. What is it that you do better, faster, cheaper, or more effectively whatever? Maybe itกs a unique model youกve developed or the unique niche of clients you serve. Maybe itกs your satisfaction guarantee offered to clients.

Most important here is to spell out why your uniqueness is so important to your clients and prospects. Why should they care? What is it that theyกll get by coming to you for services?

Spend some time critically looking at these items for your business. It will be time very well spent. If you find you can’t see the forest for the trees, don’t hesitate to get some outside help.

Over the years that Iกve been involved with web marketing and ecommerce, Iกve had the pleasure of communicating with many of the real small business กmovers and shakersก the guys and gals earning 6 figures plus annually from their ecommerce ventures. Iกve learned much from the good and bad that online business strategy has to offer; especially regarding the mindset of people who claw their way to the top.

Iกve mentioned before that success in web marketing, or any marketing for that matter, is applied basic psychology, responding to the WIIFM (Whatกs In It For Me) motivator of your target market. The more involved psychological strategies come into play when convincing a person who doesn’t want or need a particular product or service that they actually do. Successful marketers would probably also make very good (or very evil) psychologists 🙂 .

Often Iกm asked questions like, กhow do I succeed in online businessก or กHow did X make so much money?ก or กhow do I promote my sites effectively, for next to no capital outlay, while working only 2 hours a day in my underwear?ก

No doubt youกve also come across many products and services touting that you can generate a six figure income by using them and in many instances, you can. Weกve all seen the กMake $x In Just 2 Months While You Sleepก type blurbs. What isn’t mentioned on many of these sales pages is one very important element in order to make the tool successful you.

Regardless of the amount of money you invest in tools and the number of people you employ, if your head isn’t in the right space or you don’t have the personality traits that accompany success; your ecommerce venture will more than likely fail.

The following are some tips Iกve jotted down based on the common traits and strategies that I believe have been the major reasons for some marketers and site owners achieving massive success in online small business.

Determination

If you’re a person thatกs easily discouraged, shy, or someone who retreats when told something can’t be done; then the online world is not for you. You must have total faith in yourself and your goals.

If you’re not prepared to forego a lot of กnormalก pleasures in life while pursuing your goals, itกs better to stick to a salaried position although bear in mind that at the end of your days, you may be left feeling unfulfilled and bitter.

The 2nd job

Almost everyone I know who has a successful home based online business started out working two full time jobs one being their salaried employment, the other their biz. The salaried employment provides a source of funding and security, and sometimes experience, until the online business is generating real revenue.

Sure itกs tiring, but itกs better to spend a couple of years like this than to lose everything you have and then have nothing to fall back on. Those couple of years can set you up for life.

My business was funded through cleaning toilets in a club early in the morning, 7 days a week for a couple of years, plus a job in administration where I could hone some of my computer skills. The toilet cleaning wasn’t a particularly pleasant job as you can imagine, but it was humbling and strengthened my resolve to make things work.

So many times Iกve come across people who dream of having an online business but just can’t make this sort of time commitment or aren’t prepared to do กmenialก labor to get kickstarted. Due to their tertiary qualifications, or self perceived competence, they expect success to come served up on a silver platter and try to take all sorts of shortcuts to get there. It usually backfires.

Passion for success

Being passionate about your products and services surely helps in creating a positive vibe with your prospective clients. Being passionate about customer support is a fine thing too. Equally important is the passion to succeed, for *yourself* not so much as a กheadก thing (determination), but in your heart. It must be a burning desire.

Endurance/discipline

Very important most of the marketers who say that they earned 6k in 6 days selling X product fail to tell you something they may have spent hundreds of hours in prepping the product and promotion *before* it was released. The most successful marketers I know get กin the zoneก and then keep going until the product has been released, which cuts down the duration of the ramp up stage.

For example, you should only sleep as much you really need to. Sleep is beneficial and necessary of course, but a great robber of time when you are building a business. Think about it the average person spends 1/3 of their life in an unconscious state. Some people need 8 hours I guess, but imagine what you could achieve with 365 extra hours of productivity each year.

In the words of the great philosopher, Jon Bon Jovi กgonna live while Iกm alive and sleep when Iกm deadก 🙂 .

Get yourself into good working habits and stay in them routine is essential, especially when your business revolves around you. Itกs so easy to let things slide for a couple of days because you’re tired or youกve been kicked around a bit and then so hard to get back into routine again. Lighten up the pace a little if you need to, but never totally ignore your business, even for a single day, unless itกs absolutely necessary.

Focus

There will be many timeburglars along the way. Recognize them and drop them quickly. Examples of time burglars include too much time spent on hobbies or recreational pursuits (although some R & R is essential); people who suck up your time without giving anything back, and as mentioned, excess sleep.

Sometimes tasks in your online biz are better farmed out to others outsource where you can, which will leave you to focus on your core strengths; but do endeavor to gain some experience in each area of your business. Noone will give the level of attention to your business that you can.

Leadership

You may not have many staff, or any at all to start out with, but you will have service providers to deal with and yourself to lead. Be a good leader; listen and act on solid counsel, give clear instructions, and draw the line when someone you are dealing with oversteps their mark or fails to deliver.

Research

Many people fail in online business simply because theyกve had a really good idea, but noone else, especially their target market, has shared their optimism. Just because you think somethingกs great and should sell, it doesn’t mean that will translate to sales.

The only people who can take a product that addresses a yet to be existent need and sell it successfully are the well established marketers, often using what I call ‘the Inner

Circleก strategy.

For everyone else, solid researching skills must be in place before launching into ecommerce the ability to gauge actual need, pricing points, required features, associated costs and target market demographics.

Family cooperation/planning

Family issues have killed so many potentially successful business. Before you embark on your journey, ensure that your family is there with you; supporting you, or at least tolerating you while you strive for success. Have a timeline that you can relay to them i.e. กI will be working this way until X date, please hang in there with me until thenก.

Don’t just have a plan in your head write it down, broken down into milestones. By putting a dates on your milestones, it will let your family know that the ridiculous hours you may be working has a definite end date to leave it open ended causes a great deal of stress on all.

Explain to them what it will be like during that time, don’t try to deceive them, but at the same time relay to them the benefits that will come as a result.

By having a written plan it can also help you to stay on track and pat yourself on the back as milestones are achieved.

Realism balance

Be optimistic, in fact, be very optimistic about your venture but season your optimism with a dose of realism. Sure, the guy selling you a marketing tool or service says you can make 6k in 6 days but heกs a pro; realistically youกll take a lot longer than that. Set *achievable* goals, not pie in the sky targets youกll feel more fulfilled along the journey that way.

Dollars and sense

Treat your venture a little like responsible gambling only spend what you are prepared to lose if thatกs everything, thatกs probably a little over the top, but a personal decision.

Also bear in mind that as the revenue does start coming in, given the nature of the Internet, it can also dry up literally overnight. Put a decent percentage away for emergency use; ideally maintain 3 6 months living and business expenses in reserve at all times. Wherever possible, do not get into debt to finance your online business, get an extra job if you’re short on funds.

Action

Thereกs millions of people with millions of good ideas, but only a very small percentage have the drive to be able to execute them and see them through to the end. Procrastination in the online world is very dangerous as things move so quickly and trends appear/disappear every other day. Do your research and once you are satisfied that a particular strategy or tool will work implement it immediately.

If you engage the services of ecommerce or marketing consultants, follow their instructions and counsel closely. Remember that consultancy is a two way street if you’re not providing your consultants with the information they require in a timely manner and then acting upon their recommendations; youกll run into major problems.

A good analogy to illustrate this is when a doctor prescribes you antibiotics, he tells you that you must take them all within a certain amount of time and in the proper way. Failing to do so can mean the infection flairs up again.

Promote, promote, promote

At every available opportunity, promote your business to others, even to the grocery store checkout person you are on semifamiliar terms with. Don’t be shy youกll be surprised in where you can generate interest. Even if the person you are talking to you about your business isn’t really interested, they may know of someone who will be. Sow seeds wherever you can, without being overbearing of course try to talk about other things with people too 😉 .

Networking

The ability to network is a very important skill.

Networking is essentially about communicating with clients, suppliers and others within your industry with a view to personal gain. But it isn’t all about taking don’t bleed your contacts dry for any information of benefit to you; ensure you give something back.

Firstly, network with your clients through regular contacts, requesting and acting on their feedback. Remember that wordofmouth is still one of the most powerful forms of referral. Get clients to network for you by implementing affiliate/referral software and compensating them for their efforts. Many good quality shopping carts also contain affiliate functions. Once your affiliate program is in place, then lead by example by providing your clients with the tools and advice they need to refer others, plus relay the strategies you used to attract them to you in the first place.

Sometimes small business owners tend to get very paranoid about what the competition is doing, but will also shun communicating with competitor merchants. This can be quite counterproductive. Thereกs a whole swag of profits to be made through what I term กcoopetitionก and the กInner Circle Strategyก.

I hope these points have given you some insight into what makes some of the well known online small biz entrepreneurs so successful. Good luck to you in your in ecommerce venture กhave a dream, then make it realก

The Great White Yacht

The Great White Yacht

by: Rick Beneteau

My intention was to write this article with a fairly clear idea of what I wanted to express. But you know what they say about intentions – at least good ones?:)

I came out to my balcony with laptop in tow and I started typing. However, the impressive powerboats and mammoth lake and ocean freighters passing by against the magnificent backdrop of the downtown Detroit skyline soon had my full attention.

I chose to live here just because of this million dollar view, and I work out here in my ‘second office’ almost every day, so why would I be so distracted this particular time?

The answer didn’t take long to appear. Coming into view a foot at a time was this sleek, bright white yacht with blackedout windows. It slowly cruised by, as if to say ขwatch me!ข She was indeed a thing of beauty, all 120 or so feet of her. The ultimate physical statement of success and achievement!

Suddenly, my preconceived notion of how this article was going to unfold simply flew away, just like the flocks of roosting seagulls do as I approach them on my morning walk along the river’s edge.

I began to wonder exactly who owned this stunning ship and how he or she ‘attracted’ it into their life. No doubt the owner was taking several weeks off, or perhaps even the entire summer, to cruise the Great Lakes. Or even better, this yacht set to sea in the Caribbean, headed up the Atlantic seaboard entered the St. Lawrence Seaway and sailed down through Lake Ontario and Lake Erie to pass by my balcony to inspire me!

A lingering look through powerful binoculars made this ultimate status symbol all the more beautiful!

I returned to reality, wondering who the owner could be.

One thing I can assure you is that someone created a lot of wealth in order to be able to navigate this vessel past my building at this most appropriate time!

You might be thinking that this came from inherited money and you could be right. The point remains, however, that one person, at one time, with a single idea, put into motion ขthe seedข that attracted all the money required to float this multimillion dollar ship down the Detroit River. Let’s examine this.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume that our ขcaptainข here is also a captain in the entrepreneurial world. He or she owns or is an integral part of a successful company or corporation.

As is the case with most real success stories, this entrepreneur probably started with only ขthe seedข and a shoestring budget. And so, the important question becomes: how did this seed grow into the success it is today?

Ninetyninepointnine percent of the answer most likely lies within the title of this article. They ขthoughtข their way to the top! I can guarantee you that this entrepreneur ขthinksข like the world’s most successful entrepreneurs. He or she thinks ขsuccess thoughtsข.

Are you wondering what success thoughts are?

Success thoughts are simply those powerful and empowering thoughts you think, minutetominute, hourby hour, daytoday, every day, that set into motion the Universal Law of Attraction – what you think is what you get! Think success – achieve success.

Henry Ford thought success thoughts.

Thomas Edison thought success thoughts.

Tony Robbins and Donald Trump think success thoughts, each and every day, as often as they can!

As human beings, we are all subject to slacking off, and no person can honestly remain in totally ขpositive modeข every second of every waking hour. However, the simple yet powerful rule is that your thoughts dictate what happens to you, not only in business, but also in your personal life. Think good thoughts – get good things in return. Think GREAT thoughts – get GREAT results! Change your belief system – change your results!

Don’t believe me?

Here’s what Henry Ford had to say on the subject: ขWhether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!ข

Modern day master motivator Tony Robbins chimes in: ขIf you do what youกve always done, youกll get what youกve always gotten.ข (this HAS to make sense to you:)

Famous author, Dr. Joyce Brothers, offers this pearl: ขSuccess is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.ข

The Reverend Robert Schuller says: ขThe only place where your dream becomes impossible is in your own thinking.ข

Donald Trump has it: ขIf you’re going to be thinking, you may as well think big.ข

I wouldn’t dare put myself into the same category as the above icons but I can tell you in no uncertain terms that EVERY time I have reaped the financial benefits and personal satisfaction from having a project become successful, I WAS thinking the ขright stuffข!

Reflecting back on my entrepreneurial path, I can see that almost every time a project failed, I was not ขintuneข with the universe nor was I ขthinking success thoughtsข. I was thinking limiting, negative thoughts, such as how much money I was spending developing the project or how much time was being spent to complete it or worse, visualizing it as a failure, which is exactly what it became!

This is no coincidence. It’s a Universal Law. Change your thinking – change your results!

Even The Bible says it’s so: ขAs a man thinks in his heart, so is he. [Proverbs 23:7]ข

So, the burning question becomes: ขCan YOU Think Your Way to the Top!?ข

And here’s the real answer: ขYES, You CAN Think Your Way to the Top by thinking the very same success thoughts as the world’s most successful entrepreneurs!ข

Let me leave you with the chorus lyrics of a song I cowrote called ขI Willข with the hope they will begin to get you thinking the right stuff!:

I Will because I can

I’ll Do cause I believe

The strength I need to make the change

Is deep inside of me

I’ll Walk where I have crawled

I will Run til I can fly

My wings will fill my dreams will soar

The moment that I say I Will

Here’s to seeing You at the Top!

Understanding Survey Software Features

Understanding Survey Software Features

by: Nick Hill

If you take a look at the features that different survey softwares offer, you will quickly realize that understanding all of them is no mean task. But it is very important that you do because only then you can choose the right survey software. It is important for one other reason, it determines your price. More features invariably means more dollars. So if you don’t choose the right survey software, you might end up paying more for features you don’t need.
While it is impossible and not even worthwhile to look at all the features, here is a look at some of the important ones. Chances are that these are the ones will make or break your decision. The features have been divided into 6 categories based on their function in the process of conducting an online survey.
Survey creation

Images, sounds, video This allows you to insert images, sounds, and videos in your surveys, and can enhance the appearance of your surveys. However, use it only when necessary since it increases the time it takes to download and display your survey, and certainly don’t overdo it.
Question library, response library, sample surveys These allow you to create surveys quickly since you don’t have to create them from scratch. They are a must if you do a lot of surveys regularly. And they don’t impact the price that much, so you might as well opt for them.
Skip logic This allows you to skip questions depending on the answers to previous questions. Most survey softwares allow either AND or OR logic to decide whether to skip or not, but some allow a combination of any logical conditions. It might sound like a กnicetohaveก feature rather than a กmusthaveก, but you will be surprised how often you need to skip questions in your surveys.
Data piping This allows you to use the answers to some questions in the following questions. This is a very neat feature and it allows you to กpersonalizeก your surveys. For e.g., you can say ‘thanks Steveก instead of only ‘thanksก if you know that the name of the respondent is Steve from a previous question. It also allows you to ask questions like กWhat do you like most about Coke?ก when the respondent has selected Coke as his/her favorite drink in the previous question.
Advanced survey creation features (spell check, autocorrect, thesaurus, import from MS Word) These are fairly advanced features and not really required in most cases, especially if you don’t do surveys regularly. You can spend the time to spell check the survey yourselves. However, if you do a lot of surveys, then you might want these features. But they will impact the price quite a lot since they are considered as กpremiumก features.
Branding (your logo and background color) This allows you to place your company logo and use your company websiteกs background color for your surveys. This is good enough in most cases, but not if you are looking to customize each and every aspect of the survey. It is quite an important feature since it gives your respondents the feeling that they are still on your website.
Advanced survey presentation features (predesigned editable survey templates, new templates, fullcustomized look) These are fairly advanced features and allow you to customize almost every aspect of the survey. Survey softwares do this in a variety of ways: they have predesigned editable templates, ability to create new templates, or create surveys with a fullcustom look. These features are also considered as กpremiumก features and will impact the price quite a lot.

Survey Distribution and Tracking

Handheld device This allows you to distribute your surveys on hendheld devices. This method of distributing is not as common as the other methods like placing link on website, embedding entire survey in websites, sending email invitation with link, or embedding entire survey in emails and newsletters. But it is definitely becoming popular because of the convenience it offers for taking surveys กon the roadก. As of now though, it is considered as a กpremiumก feature and will impact the price.
Track respondents These allow you to track your respondents after they receive your email invitations. The simpler ones allow you to maintain an email list and send email invitations to all or some email addresses in the list. The more complex ones allow you to create an กaudienceก from the list in a variety of ways. They also allow you to track who read your email invitation and clicked on what links, who took the survey and who didn’t, send reminders to the ones who didn’t, etc. All these complex tracking activities fall more under the realm of กcampaign managementก than conducting surveys though. If you need these features, you are much better off going for a fullblown campaign management solution than a survey solution with half of what you need.

Taking Survey

Password protected surveys This allows you to protect your surveys with a password. The respondents have to know the password to be able to take the survey.
Save and continue later This allows your respondents to save the survey and continue later. It is a very good feature to have especially if your surveys are going to be long. Some survey softwares make the respondents explicitly save a link and bookmark it to continue later. These don’t work that well compared to some others that don’t require the respondents to do as much.
Response validation This allows you to validate the responses your respondents enter. These features are very important since they ensure that your respondents enter กvalidก responses and increases the quality of the results. Always prefer survey softwares that have more types of response validation.
Respondent uniqueness control This allows you to ensure that a respondent takes the survey only once. There are a few ways to do this and not all of them are กfullproofก. If you want to strictly enforce respondent uniqueness, make sure that the survey software allows you to send unique URLs to every email recipient. It is the only กfullproofก method of enforcing respondent uniqueness.

Response Collection

Email notification upon response submission This allows you to get email notifications when a respondent completes a survey. It is the only way to get the responses with survey softwares that don’t store them in a database. But it is also offered as an addon by those that do store them in databases.

Survey Analysis

Graphical reports This allows you to graph the results and not all survey softwares have this feature. If you like to see results in neatlooking graphs, make sure that the survey software has this feature. Check out the sample reports; most companies have them on their website. Or better yet, try out the product and generate them yourselves!
Advanced analysis features (crosstabulation, subset analysis, 360 degree feedback, etc) These allow you to perform advanced analysis on the results. Crosstabulation allows you to relate the responses of one question to those of another. Subset analysis allows you to perform analysis on a subset of the responses by filtering out certain responses. These are definitely กpremiumก features and will impact the price.
Export data This allows you to export the responses so you can do analyses in your favorite tool, like Excel or SPSS. Make sure that the survey software has this feature, especially if it doesn’t natively support the advanced analyses that you want to do.

Report Distribution

Save in PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint format This allows you to save the report in one of the mentioned formats. It is a very convenient feature to have if you are going to distribute your report a lot.

Pros and Cons of Shared Hosting

Pros and Cons of Shared Hosting

by: Olga Elizarova

There are a lot of various types of web site hosting. They can be classified by different indexes.

There is Paid and Free web hosting; Linux/Unixbased and Windowsbased (and other but they are no that popular); shared, dedicated and VPS. Every hosting type has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The key aim of this article is to acquaint you with main merits and drawbacks of shared hosting.

First of all we must give a definition of the term กshared hostingก. So, what is shared hosting?

Shared hosting is such kind of providing space for web sites on the hosterกs server when you share this server with other customersก web sites. All web sites use the same software and operating system. But unlike free web hosting which has the same conditions, with shared web hosting you have much more benefits.

Shared web hosting can be divided into two subtypes:

Free Shared Hosting is the best choice for trying some new ideas and not paying for hosting. This type of web site hosting provides you with everything necessary for floating your site. Of course you should not expect the best conditions for your site. Bandwidth and Disk Space is limited. This type of shared hosting may not ensure you with MySQL, PHP support. Web statistics is also poorly provided.

Paid Shared Hosting provides such necessary features, as multiply email, MySQl, PHP are supported. You may use it if you want to host small business web site, intermediate or large professional site but don’t need the whole serverกs space.Using shared hosting you get a good possibility to host your site on a powerful, well administrated server at a low monthly cost.

Shared hosting is in firsttime webmastersก great demand, กcause it can provide reliable web presence without having special technical skills.

So now we can pick out pros and cons of shared hosting:

Pros

Low cost

Good server administration

Multiple email, MySQL, PHP support

You don’t need some unique knowledge in web site and server administration

Cons

Low security level

Resource limitation everybody uses the same memory, CPU and HardDrive.

You can use only the software which is provided with your hosting company, and correspondingly you can’t install your own.

Some available ports and connections can be limited because of security policy.

The main feature of shared hosting is that you don’t need to worry about about possible server problems. Your hosting companyกs support service is to fix all troubles. So, when choosing shared hosting you must carefully look at company supportกs quality, the better quality of support the better conditions for your site.

With shared hosting you can also place several sites in the neighbour parts of the server.

Now when you are acquainted with all special features of shared hosting you can decide whether this type of hosting is appropriate to your needs and requirements.
