How To Fail Online, or Alternatively, What To Avoid In Order To Succeeed

by: Dr. David Lowenstein

“One click and you message gets to 100/200/xxx million websites a day” “Make $1,000/5,000/xxxxx straight to your paypal/stormpay or mailbox just by emailing this or mailing that to X of your friends” “Here is how you get 20 million subscribers/affiliates…”

Sounds familiar? Haven’t we all (yes, me too..) thought “Hay, this is Exactly what I need/want!” and, signed for free or, God forbid, paid Money and…a few days later…

I do hope that you are reading this article a minute before you intended To join such a “blabla” offer. It will save you some hard earned dollars.

Question – Who’s to blame? Should we all blame the one offering us These programs? I am certain that your immediate response is “Yes!” Well, you’re wrong! We are the ones to be blamed! We so much want To believe this “magic crap” that we act as their best salesperson.. Who doesn’t want overnight success? I’ll be more blunt – who doesn’t Want an immediate success without putting any work? (lotto…?)

My friend, IT DOES NOT AND NEVER WILL WORK, PERIOD.

To be totally honest and straightforward, these offers should also mention

That: “sign with us and..

work hard for 23 years

invest a lot of time in building trust relations with people “The Best Vitamin For Making Friends Is B1”

you’re about to have rough times during which you’ll be certain that nothing works for you (“everyone seems to have something to offer/sell. How can I get through and succeed selling my product/program??!!”)

IMPORTANT, Never Ever Give Up!

Would they be online if they wrote it (The Simple Truth!)? Of course NOT!

They are simply after your money and that is all there is to it.

But there’s hope. The hope lies in your common sense and determination –

NEVER GIVE UP! Tell yourself:

1. The Opportunities are there. I can make it online.

2. I know I’ll have rough times.

3. I’ll NEVER go for what appears to be “magic” because if it doesn’t

Work (and it NEVER does) I’ll get frustrated and give up. Remember –

It’s The START that STOPS most people!

4. Prior to every purchase I’ll make, whether an ebook, a service or a

Program, I’ll positively answer the following:

4.a. Will this purchase really move my knowledge/business onwards?

4.b. Will it result in more potentially successful contacts/leads?

4.c. Will I be able to use it, within a reasonable period of time, to Increase my profits?

4.d. Am I willing to invest work in it and give it a fair chance?

4.e. If someone else offered it to me, would I go for it? (This is critical because the answer will indicate whether you’ll be able to offer it to others).

Sorry it sounds like a nightmare, it is NOT. It Is Reality. The route to success Resides in yourself – BE DTERMINED, DON’T GET DISTRACTED, Keep Looking straight ahead to your final goal AND YOU’LL GET THERE.

You can achieve a level of success online which will significantly increase Your income. Opportunities and customers are there (and growing every day By outstanding numbers). Let time and work determine what is going to be Your money making opportunity. Just Avoid “Magic Crap”!

And one last advice – No One Can Help Everybody, but Everybody Can Help Somebody. Use this advice to build trust.

Wishing You A Pleasant Journey,

Dr. David Lowenstein

Getting Subscribers For Your Newsletter Is As Simp

Getting Subscribers For Your Newsletter Is As Simple As This…

by: Emma okafor

Having a newsletter is one thing but how many subscribers do you have? Or are you ok with the number of subscribers you have? If you are not satisfied with the answer, then this article is for you. This article will show you how a simple approach did it did it for me, so now is your turn.

A good way of achieving this is through writing an article for submission in newsletters and ezines. Lets say your article got been published in an ezine with 100,000 subscribers and you make 1% success (1% readers click your tagline) and subscribe from your newsletter). It means you have 1000 subscribers. What if you make a 10% success that means 10,000 subscribers. For just only an article that didn’t cost you a dime!

Another way to build up a potential subscriber mailing list is with a drawing at a convection or trade show. You can have cards printed up for people to fill their names and address. All attendees would be interested in the subject matter of your newsletter. You can place ads in trade magazines that cater to the topic you are pursing. Include the full details of your newsletter, or use a leader to get inquiries and sent out details later. Build a direct mail piece that describes the benefits and features of your newsletter and pushes for subscription. You can offer a special free booklet to new subscribers or a discount. You may include a sample newsletter in the direct mail piece to show how worthwhile the publication is.

Pricing is always a tricky aspect of selling information. How much you price your newsletter and still keep your subscribers matters. You need to research the market to find out who will buy subscription and how much they are willing to pay. But there are sound methods of testing the market so you can be sure to come out ahead and establish yourself in the field. Frequency of your publication is also important. Although you may be able to prepare and publish a weekly newsletter, your subscribers may not be able to keep up with reading it and prefer a monthly subscription.

In addition to how often you may publish your newsletter, there are a lot of factors to consider. The main factor is how fast you can produce a newsletter? Secondly how long will it take you to research and write material for your newsletter?

Don’t forget that a good mailist should be used over and over. If you know you have a list of prime targets for you newsletter, don’t stop with one mailing. Follow through with subsequent offer at certain intervals to catch those who couldn’t decide the first time.

Follow the guidelines and you will find your newsletter will be readily accepted and flourish. Pal you can reap these PROFITS. You can MAKE IT WORK!

Achievements Outweigh Education and Experience

Achievements Outweigh Education and Experience

by: Tim Knox

QUESTION:

When it comes to succeeding in business, which is more important: education or experience? Regina M.

ANSWER:

Regina, have you seen the television show, Fear Factor? If you haven’t seen it you’ve probably heard about it. Fear Factor is the show where they put contestants through all sorts of pseudodeath defying feats like bungee jumping off a bridge over a pool of crocodiles and driving a car through a wall of fire (you know, the stuff we did for fun in high school). The contestant who overcomes their personal fear factor wins the cash and prizes (usually at the cost of their dignity, but I digress).

The highlight of Fear Factor is the eating competition. That’s when contestants are invited to partake of all sorts of culinary fare. Yummy stuff like monkey brains, all manner of live bugs and spiders, moose intestines, old fruitcake (the horror!), and my personal favorite, live giant worms. At this point the competition becomes not so much who can overcome their fear factor, but who has the lowest gag reflex.

Your question makes me feel a little like those contestants, Regina, because no matter how I answer I am opening a can of giant worms that I will undoubtedly be forced to eat later. My highly educated peers will argue that education is much more important than experience, while my highly experienced peers will argue that experience is more important. Either way, it’s worms ala carte for me.

Oh well, I’ve eaten more than my share of crow over the years. How much worse can worms be?

It’s important to understand that the success of an entrepreneur is not measured by how much education he or she has or how many years of experience are under his or her belt. An entrepreneur’s success is measured by achievements, not words on a resume.

By definition, an entrepreneur is a risktaking businessperson: someone who sets up and finances new commercial enterprises to make a profit. Entrepreneurs start businesses. The smart ones then hire MBAs to run them.

Let’s start with education. Is a Bachelor’s degree or better required to succeed in business? Of course not. An MBA from Harvard might give you a leg up in a job interview, but it certainly doesn’t guarantee that you will succeed in business. Nor does it automatically mean that you will be a better business person than someone who didn’t finish high school. Knowledge is a good thing if you know what to do with it.

Perhaps it is the academic environment itself that turns mere mortal nerds into budding entrepreneurs. The late ‘90s proved that college students with no experience beyond organizing a frat keg party could start businesses that would exceed all expectations. Many would argue that the key to success for most of these ventures was that the founders (or the VC financing them) were smart enough to know that while they had an abundance of education, they needed experienced managers to really run the show.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin were college students when they started the company that would become Google. They were smart enough to bring in Eric Schmidt to be chairman and CEO when the business took off. Schmidt was the former CEO of Novell and CTO of Sun Microsystems. A PhD, Schmidt is a man of education and experience.

Jerry Yang and David Filo were candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford when they started YAHOO (Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle) in 1994. They brought in Tim Koogle from Motorola to run things shortly thereafter and now the company is led by Terry Semel, who previously spent 24 years running Warner Bros.

Now on to experience. Is experience a prerequisite of business success? Again, not at all. Many experienced entrepreneurs gained their experience in failed businesses, so experience does not instantly translate to success.

So, when it comes to succeeding in business, which is more important: education or experience? While neither is as helpful as a rich relative, here’s the answer that will hopefully help me avoid those worms: Both education and experience can play a large part in business success. The more important question is can you succeed in business without one or the other, or even without both? And the answer to that one is: yes. Can I get ketchup with those worms?

Many successful businesses were started by first time entrepreneurs who never went to college. Natural talent, ambition, drive, determination, and good old dumb luck have fueled many success entrepreneurs, myself included. I don’t have a degree (I drove past a college once. It looked hard, so I kept going). Would a degree have helped make my business trek easier? Perhaps. Then again, I know people with advanced degrees who are flipping burgers at McDonalds. It’s good experience, I suppose.

A combination of education and experience (and a variety of other things) is the best recipe for success. As the old saying goes, ขThere is no better education than that which comes from experience.ข

In the end, it really doesn’t matter how much education, experience, talent, luck or money you have. It’s what you do with it that matters.

Home Business Success 5 Things You Learn From Yo

Home Business Success 5 Things You Learn From Your ExBoss

by: Gobala Krishnan

In the past, everyone could take pride in working for large, multinational companies. The current trend of downsizing and outsourcing, however, has brought major changes in the employment landscape. One thing for sure, as job security becomes a thing of the past, many are turning towards starting their own home based businesses.

Job security has its merits, and a home business is, arguably, not for everyone. But for those who are interested in making this shift, a change in mentality is absolutely important. There are many bad habits that lie dormant in all of us. You need to change these bad habits and develop new good habits to survive as an entrepreneur. And in many cases these can be กborrowedก from your existing or former corporate work environment.

Here are some new disciplines that you can borrow from your working life, to develop and to practice:

1) Ownership and Decision Making

In corporate culture, you are responsible only for what your job requires you to do. In most jobs however, you are hardly responsible for the survival of the company. Your contribution, as compared to the whole, is only marginal. You can make mistakes and get away with it. Your job is easily replaceable.

As an entrepreneur, however, you may find the world to be less forgiving. A mistake can cost you your entire business. It is vital for anyone who wants to start their own home based business to think about this fact. You have to realize that success in a home based venture is directly tied up to your actions, and you need to take responsibility for everything that happens.

In your own business, you need to go beyond your capacity at times, stretching yourself more than you would as an employee. Taking responsibility also means being able to make the correct decisions as and when needed. When you work from home, YOUR decision is final. Although it may a little scary for an entrepreneur at first, these habits practiced over time becomes second nature.

It sure beats having to put up with corporate redtape!

2) Developing a Creative Mindset & Taking Risks

Companies hardly, if ever, reward you for being creative. They do, however, reward you for showing up on time and completing your daily routines. You are rewarded not for being outstanding, but for being average.

As an entrepreneur, you need to shake off the bad habit of doing things the usual way, the กway itกs always been doneก There is nothing wrong with using standard procedures and methods. In fact, sticking to the กrulesก can help you make a decent living. But if you want the big money, like I do, you need to start thinking กOutside the Boxก. A little bit of ingenuity in your business can save you a lot of money and time.

Ingenuity involves finding solutions to a problem. You may, at any stage of your home business, realize that you just don’t have an abundance of resources. Resources in this context can be money, time, expertise or just about everything else that you need, but just don’t have…

As you might have figured, creativity comes with risk. Doing something new is more risky than doing it the old way, but the payoff is incredible. Thinking outside the box might result in failure, just as well as it might lead to amazing success. But risk is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when it is studied, anticipated and even welcomed.

So what do you do?

Most home business challenges can be solved, even if you are not a genius or have thousands of dollars to spend. If you can just use your ingenuity, you can find a solution to these challenges.

Figure out how to make the best of your advertising dollars. Figure out how to save time and automate your business. Figure out how to complement your skills using the skills of others. Small steps like these can go a long way in determining just how successful you will be.

3) Making Your Own Rules & Organizing Time

Imagine you arrive at work one day and find that the punchcard machine has been removed. The company also fired your boss, and the new rules say that you can come in at any time you want, bring your wife and kids along, and take as many breaks as you want. Shorts and a Tshirts are now the standard, accepted work attire.

What would you do?

I know what I would do absolutely nothing at all! I would take advantage of the situation, and do absolutely no work at all. As days go by, I get lazier and eventually become a total slob.

A home business environment is not much different from the scenario above. In the absence of corporate rules, you must develop your own self imposed กhome business rulesก. Set a time for work, for play, and for household activities. If you just decide to กgo with the flowก, you often get no where at all.

I used to think that money was the most important asset of my home business. Being quite naive, I thought that with more money, I could be successful faster. After all, money is king. With more money, I could buy more กbig timeก advertising, hire assistants and equip my business with the best software systems.

It didn’t take me long to realize that time is more important than money. Money simply cannot buy time. But with more time, I can all make all the money I want. Put in another way, I would say that MORE TIME is more important than just MORE MONEY. But none of us, not you, nor me, can have more than 24 hours a day at our disposal.

So, as a home business entrepreneur, we need to ultimately learn how to make the best use of the time that we have. This easy to say, but it will take discipline to see it through. Discipline is not easy to achieve, but it CAN be done. Just focus on doing a little bit every day, and stick to the timeline you had laid out, and you will get into the productive rhythm that comes with discipline.

4) Continuous Selfimprovement

The home business arena is highly competitive. As an entrepreneur you will need to keep up with any event that will effect your business, for better or worse.

Corporations usually have mandatory training courses for all employees. If you are someone who attended these courses just to get away from doing work, or just to get some extra sleeping time in the class, then you need to change your attitude.

As an entrepreneur you must to find ways to enrich yourself with more knowledge. Take that accounting class, attend that local business seminar and read related books. Don’t see these as additional expenses, see them as long term investment. An investment in knowledge, after all, yields the best return.

Every type of business is subject to slowdowns. If you do not continuously improve your skills and knowledge, simply throwing in more money or hiring more people when that happens will not solve the problem. The only way to move forward, to get to ‘the next levelก is to acquire new knowledge. New knowledge opens up more opportunities for your business.

5) Commitment to Your Goals & Deadlines for Success

กI want this on my desk by 2.00pmก.

Sounds familiar? Most of us seek a home based business because we want to escape the pressures of a 95 job. The word กdeadlineก may send a shiver through your spine.

The irony, however, is that deadlines are EXACTLY what you need to succeed in just about anything. As an entrepreneur, these deadlines always are, and must be, selfimposed. There are many book on how to set and achieve goals (my recommendations at http://www.homebusinessassociation.com/books/) and I suggest you read as many as you can.

Having family around you can be used to your advantage. Communicate your goals to your wife or husband. Promise your kids a vacation when youกve finished a major task. Soon, you will get little กbossesก running around telling you to stop watching TV and get to your work. Well, at least they are กadorableก bosses!

An excerpt from the book ‘think and Grow Richก by Napoleon Hill (pg. 15):

…a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He… gave the order to burn the ships that carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle he said กYou see the boats going up in smoke? That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice We win or we perishก.

They won.

And no matter what YOUR goals are in seeking selfemployment and an entrepreneurial life, with commitment to your goals and determination to meet your deadlines, you too will win. Take the positive aspects of your current of former work environment to build a healthy and productive home business mentality to ensure that you are heading towards success.

Hereกs to your success. Cheers.

The Secret To Success Is In The **DOING**

The Secret To Success Is In The **DOING**

by: Paul Verigin

One of the unique features about doing business on the net is that you are exposed to unimaginable volumes of information. It can boggle your mind. You can read until you go cross eyed and your head starts to spin. You read because you believe that reading contributes to the acquisition of knowledge. Knowledge is supposed to be the all important ingredient to every form of success.
This afternoon I read an article that stated "knowledge is power".
Broad knowledge is a valuable asset but possessing it by itself will do little towards the creation of any specific achievement. Accumulated knowledge does not automatically assure you of success nor does it assure you of experiencing any form of power.
You may have learned how to perform a specific task. You may even confidently admit that you really know the subject, but until you attach action to this knowledge, this knowledge will lie dormant.
Action is what proves how well you really know the subject. Regardless how much knowledge you possessed before you start a project, you will probably discover that additional knowledge may be required to really make your project shine. Knowledge tends to multiply once you take the first steps towards converting information to action.
Action unleashes the power present in the knowledge. Your success depends solely on your ability to bring life to your knowledge. Knowledge plus action equals results, equals power. Success is only achieved if you possess the intestinal fortitude to stick it out long enough to see the true signs of success begin to emerge from the marriage of your knowledge and action.
The secret to success is in the **DOING**!
You have an idea! You can think about a specific project, gather all required information and create a sure fire, workable plan. You can commit to all kinds of fancy goals and then decision time. Do you go ahead and jump in with both feet or do you bail out because it looks too hard and risky.
This is where the greatest challenges emerge. Many Internet marketers expect results even before they start doing anything. Many marketers even take the first step but if they do not experience phenomenal success immediately they quit and wonder why this program didn’t work. Did they work the program?
The secret to success is in the **DOING AND DOING**.
For HOW LONG?
For as LONG AS IT TAKES!
What do you HAVE TO DO?
You have to do WHATEVER IT TAKES!
You yourself are the sole judge about how much time and effort is required and how much time and effort you are prepared to exert to ensure that your project flourishes.
You may follow the plan of others. Be aware, just because someone else had success or lack of desired success with a specific plan, it does not guarantee your outcome will be the same. You are a unique individual. Your talents, your habits, your character, your energy all play a contributing part in your story. Only you can ultimately write your own story and create your own outcome. Whatever the outcome is, it is an experience that was worth having. You either learned HOW TO DO something or HOW NOT TO DO something.
This does not mean that the assistance you receive from others is of little value. On the contrary, the length of your learning curve can often be influenced by the support and the knowledge obtained from others. However, the final buck still stops with you. It is your decisions that determine your involvement, your learning curve and ultimately your success. Even if you follow someone elseกs plan, the buck stops here!
All this sounds so simple and inconsequential and yet this simple lesson is the single reason the SINGLE SOLITARY REASON why so few people really succeed to achieve their dreams.
Most people are กUNWILLING TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES, FOR HOWEVER LONG IT TAKESก to realize their dreams!
Few people fail, many people quit, most people don’t even try!
The secret to success is in the DOING! JUST DO IT!!

Affiliates Go To School!

Affiliates Go To School!

by: Ray Burton

It has been said that only 2% of affiliate marketers ever make any ขrealข money from their efforts. The rest struggle and flounder as they see most of their efforts fail. Rather like master archers hitting the bull’seye each time while the rest struggle to sharpen their arrows, draw the bow and try to figure out what to aim at!

Those who run affiliate programs are often very sincere and well meaning, but lack the expertise at marketing. They may have produced a great product, but that doesn’t make them great marketers.

If you want to make money from affiliate marketing then you need to go to someone who’s meets 4 simple criteria.

Has made a success at affiliate marketing.

Has the skills to teach their success principles.

Teaches principles of success for any program and not just their own.

Has committed themselves to seeing you become successful and not just inflating their own bank account.

All this can be summed up as quality support for your benefit. Does such support actually exist? Most courses train you and then leave you to ขgo and put it into actionข. They don’t follow through with you until you are successful. The reason is they have no motivation to do so because itกs not cost effective.

We are about to see a new era in the field of affiliate marketing. Just recently launched is ขAffiliate Classroomข who meet the previously mentioned criteria. This is hugely refreshing. At last proper training without hidden agendas! Training for the benefit of the marketer and not the product owner. I believe we will see a rise in the number of such training programs over the next few years. We may even see affiliate program owners promoting such ขclassroomsข as part of their own marketing strategy.

Home Business Success: What It Really Takes!

Home Business Success: What It Really Takes!

by: Nathaniel Balcom

These words are heard again and again by people attempting to build a real home business on the internet.

The real question should not be about winning because obviously, ขeveryone wants to winข, but should focus on the question of กHow do I get to where I want to be so that I consider myself a success in my home business?ก

Obviously, there is no roadmap that you can follow to reach the level of financial security that the majority of home business people would consider a success.

It is apparent though that the majority of people that are considered financially secure have some common qualities that they each possess, such as, almost all of the individuals that are financially secure appear to be selfmotivated and willing to commit.

Now, the reason that this is important as it relates to each person attempting to build a home business on the internet is because without a doubt most people join programs to make money, and improve their standing, at least in their own eyes, on the ladder of success.

The problem is that most people are not motivated enough from within to really commit to making the personal sacrafices needed to truly build a real online business and therefore earn the money and live the lifestyle that they desire.

I am of the opinion that there are two real solid reasons why this situation exist.

I shall discuss the first of these reasons in this article since I feel this is the reason that actually prevents most individuals from really going forward and reaching for their dreams.

I think that the majority of us, no matter whether we admit it or not, are limited in our ability to see ourselves at the level in life that we personally would consider successful. In most cases, we see ourselves as not being capable of reaching the level of success that we would truly like to reach because of the mental picture we have of ourselves.

In my opinion, this is the result of our having tried to achieve smaller goals in our lives at some point and having failed to reach those goals, for whatever reason, whether we admit it outwardly or not.

I know that if you talk to most people they will tell you that กI could be this or do that if I could get a breakข or ขif I had just a little luckข or ขif I could just get a helping hand.ก

This is so untrue.

Getting a กbreakก or กa helping handก in business is not about กluck.ก

กBreaksก in business are a matter of persistence and perseverance.

The number of people that actually make a substantial amount of money from home businesses is not large because the majority of people that have the selfmotivation, commitment, and discipline it takes to persevere to the level in which any big money is being made is small.

I can demonstrate this fact just by examining the statistics from a program that I am currently researching:

1. Currently only 17% of the total group has completed the basic requirements for understanding the program.

This program requires no commitment other than reading.

2. Of all the members in the group only 7% are qualified to earn all available means of income from the program.

This 7% represents 100% of the income and activity that is being produced within the group at the time of this article.

As a business owner, you should always set an example of how well your business products or services are by using them yourself.

3. Last month 68% of the income and activity produced by the group was produced by group members that have been members less than two months.

This occurs because these members still believe that they are capable of ขmaking it happen!ข

There are members of this group that have been onboard less than two months and have earned more money than other members that have been members for over a year or more that haven’t earned a cent.

I mentioned these facts only to demonstrate that home business success is a matter of selfmotivation.

Those members that are making money believe in themselves and therefore are motivated to take the initial actions to achieve, and, each achievement provides reinforcement that they can achieve the next step thus creating a perpetual belief that they can achieve whatever their desired goal might be in a stepby step goaloriented manner.

On the other hand for those that are not making money it is because of a deepseated doubt, I think, not of belief in the system, but of a lack of belief in their own abilities.

The failure to take even the first step demonstrates a lack of selfmotivation.

As a result the opposite affect is instilled and the perpetual doubt is reinforced each time that a desire to go forward is not followedup by any action that results in even a small amount of positive reinforcement that leads the individual to believe that they are capable of reaching the desired goal.

Success starts with an individual perception of ones self.

Action is a result of the motivation from within.

Selfmotivation is the key that must be turned in order to start the engine of success.

Is a Home Business Right for You?

Is a Home Business Right for You?

by: Jeff Casmer

Every morning as people wake up and make the commute to work, many dream of the day when they will finally work for themselves. Every time the boss lets someone know that they must give up their weekend plans for the good of the company, people contemplate the benefits of being the owner of their own business.

Are you one of these people?

If you are, it is important to ask yourself some very important questions before you make the uncertain leap into selfemployment.

Many dream of the benefits of home business ownership, but few take into account the sacrifices that must be made to bring the dream to fruition. Please don’t make this mistake yourself.

You must approach home business ownership with your eyes wide open. Ask yourself the important questions, and more importantly, answer your own questions openly and honestly.

AN IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION

Are you the type of person who relishes every chance to gather around the water cooler for social interaction?

If so, then home business ownership may not be the right decision for you.

Instead, if you feel that you can be quite content sitting alone at your desk; speaking only to clients and really minding your own home business, then you might have what it takes to succeed as a home business entrepreneur.

If you feel at ease with your own company and don’t need a dozen coworkers milling around your desk, then you, too, could savor the freedoms that will allow you and your family, to live the lifestyle you know you want and deserve.

THE KEY TO HOME BUSINESS SUCCESS

Selfmotivation is the key to success when you start a homebased business. You need to possess the ability to push yourself ahead. Your drive and determination will be reinforced with every new sale.

The level of success that you will achieve greatly depends on the time and effort you are willing to plow into your new home business. Your organization, planning and marketing skills, will all be put into practice when you embark on your liberating journey from employee, to being your own boss. In fact, you will be the wearer of many hats and gain a wealth of business experience along the way, when you finally make that commitment to work at home.

YOUR SUCCESS RESTS ENTIRELY UPON YOUR OWN SHOULDERS

You will now be the boss. Are you truly able to work independently? Do you have the drive; the tenacity, to persevere with your home based business? Will you be able to invest the necessary time to nurture it, to watch it grow and see it through, from germination to full, glorious bloom? When you’re the boss, you are responsible for the success of your home business, from A to Z, from disappointments to victory.

When you work at home, it will empower you to achieve many things you were unable to do when you were stuck working for that tyrant boss. Remember him? Heกs the guy that wouldn’t let you take time off when your baby was sick…the same guy that called you in to work on Thanksgiving Day.

A home business means that you can take good care of your family and make money from home, simultaneously. You will have the best of both worlds! Just thinkno more dirty laundry piling upyou can do it while you work. No more scurrying around at the last minute searching for a babysitter either. And no more worrying about getting fired; youกll be the boss!

IN CONCLUSION…

Stay positive and focused on your home based business, even if, when sales aren’t up to par, you get occasional negative remarks or derogatory comments from people with stuffy, deadend jobs. Ignore their cutting words and bear in mind that success is the best revenge! Keep your admirable, positive attitude at the forefront and show them what you’re made of!

Helping Others In Cyberspace: Your Key to Online S

Helping Others In Cyberspace: Your Key to Online Success

by: Tanner Larsson

Help enough people get what they want, and you can have everything you want. –Jim Rohn

Although the saying may be rather overused, it contains an element of truth that rings appropriate even in the age of Internet marketing and business. ขOne hand washes the other.ข

When talking to men and women who have achieved success on the World Wide Web, who are now operating progressive and profitable online business ventures, they all seem to have one thing in common. Along the way, these successful marketers and operators all took the time to help other folks either with or through their online ventures.

When someone logs onto the Internet, it is typically because they have a need and they want that need fulfilled, they may be looking for an answer to a question, or trying to figure out how to do something, or maybe they just need a new pair of shoes. Whatever the case may be, that person needs someone else to fulfill their need and help them.

Learn how to fulfill your visitors needs and then over deliver on them and don’t charge them for it. Help your visitors and customers achieve whatever success they are after no mater how trivial it is to you. Show your visitors that you care and are willing to help.

Doing this ensures that your visitors will become customers and then friends, and once you have achieved this they will be customers forever.

Cooperative Ventures

In very simple terms, a person that you help out will be inclined to lend a hand to you at a future time. Cooperative ventures of this sort have formed a basis for beneficial business growth in the brick and mortar world through the years indeed, literally for centuries.

The same sort of cooperative ventures plays well on the Net as well. Again, as simplistic and as worn as the phrase may seem to many people, there is an abundance of truth in ขone hand washes the other.ข

The Power of Positive Praise

Even in cyberspace, ขword of mouthข is important. The image of your online business can be vitally enhanced or brutally brought down by what fellow Internet users say write about your business.

Practically and naturally speaking, one of the best ways to start a positive buzz about your online venture is to help others in such a way that they are determined not just inclined, but determined to spread the good word about you and your efforts.

Building Alliances

Finally, be helping others, you will begin to build meaningful alliances that will stand the test of time. Rarely does a business online or otherwise avoid experiencing downtimes or negative situations. By building alliances through your efforts to help and assist others, you will end up having strong supporters during those times when you are facing your own set of difficulties or challenges.

Does Your Website Make The Grade?

Does Your Website Make The Grade?

by: Mal Keenan

If you aren’t making money after sending any quantity of visitors at all to your website then you may be making simple mistakes that ARE costing you money and affiliate signups. I remember my own first marketing website it was like a night on the strip in Las Vegas, banners flashing all over the place hoping to attract prospective buyers and affiliates. Needless to say it didn’t do too good and I moved on.

Today I own many different websites and domain names and they all try to follow simple rules that will ensure my visitors don’t click off before the site content reaches their toolbar. Have a look what I believe to be a perfectly structured site and one that I have found great success with:

http://www.eliteteamireland.com/

Did you look closely? The reason for the success of this site is that it doesn’t contain many of the marketing errors that new and not so new online business entrepreneurs will make in todays market. If you are a member of an affiliate program that contains these erros then you need to take action immediately. If you don’t have the option to create your own site for affiliate promotions then you need to find a new program to promote. This or continue to suffer losses in sales and team members.

Here is a quick overview of how to structure a successful marketing site:

1)Clearly define what your website is about. Patience is a virtue but unfortunately it is not an attribute prevalent in 99% of online surfers and if they don’t know the purpose of your site almost immediately, they will move on.

2)Focus on one or two services or products. A website going in too many different directions will leave your visitor feeling confused and more likely to click on to something less cluttered.

3) Include a follow up form AND let your prospect know exactly what is is for. Most people visiting online business websites are doing so for the first time and they are very untrustworthy, rightly so given the amount of scams that have been perpetrated online, so it is important that you tell them why you want their contact info.

Explain what they are going to get for providing their details and in what form it is going to come (ie You will receive an email course over 30 days etc. etc. etc.).

4) Provide your full contact info on your site preferably with your own photograph prominently displayed. Again this is down to trust, people need to know that there is a REAL person behind this website and the more you can convince them with your own details the more trusting they will be. More trust equals more sales.

5) If you are going to make statements about your business then it is much better to back them up with testimonials. With the testimonial, like with your own contact info, provide as many personal details as possible and for maximum effect provide a photo aswel. Look at the website above again to see how itกs done.

6) Explain the compensation plan clearly. If you are running an affiliate program or are promoting one then you need to state how people will get paid in an easy to understand format. The main reason people are at your site is because they are looking for a way to create further income, you need to state in clear terms how and when this is going to happen.

Take another look at how the comp. plan is clearly set out here:

http://www.eliteteamireland.com/

The above website works so well because it allays many of the fears and answers the questions that people setting off on a new business venture will have. It does this by setting out clearly what you must do to get started and backs it up with testimonials from people who have followed the exact same methods to gain success. If you follow the same strategy with your own website then you will gain the same success as far as getting people on board.

What you don’t see in the above model, but will be explained in a subsequent article, is how effective followup and a duplicatable system can virtually eliminate any chance of failure if you follow the steps outlined.

There are people out there who will succeed at whatever venture they happen to come across but for us mere mortals it depends so much on the quality and layout of a company backed up with sound support and a duplicatable system that our financial success depends upon it.

If you don’t want to fail then ensure that you do choose a program that follows the steps above when supplying you with a site to promote. Either that or build your own.

Marketing Success Defined

Marketing Success Defined

by: Mark S. Levit

How do you personally define success? High income? Substantial net worth? A fine home? Peer recognition?

On a personal basis, there are likely almost as many definitions of success as there are people in the world.

In marketing, though, there are just four measurable elements of success:

Profitability, Market Share, Customer Satisfaction and Customer Retention.

Profitability requires little explanation. The very reason businesses exist is to make a profit, or generate more revenue than they pay out. Profitability may be increased by reducing overhead and the cost of goods sold—or by increasing the price to the buyer.

But prices can only be raised so much. Per the laws of price elasticity, as prices rise, unit sales tend to decline, as does Market Share; which brings us to our next measure of marketing success.

Market Share, as a measure of success, is important to marketers since the greater the share, the more stable the brand’s performance is in the marketplace. A product with 65% market share is a force with which to be reckoned. A product with 3% share is vulnerable to a variety of market factors such as competitive pricing, promotions, loyalty to betterknown brands and more.

Financial managers understand the impact of Profitability and Market Share. But concepts such as Customer Satisfaction and Customer Retention are softer items and tend to be treated as lesser by those managers. Yet, the long term success and growth of a brand is highly dependent on them.

Customer Satisfaction doesn’t appear on a balance sheet. It can’t be measured in dollars and cents. It’s measured by the customer’s feelings about a brand. Does the brand deliver its promise? Is it a good value? Does it bring status to the owner? Is the customer generally happy with the product? Customer Satisfaction begets repeat purchases, loyalty, wordofmouth advertising and, of course, longterm profitability via Customer Retention.

Customer Retention, the final measure of marketing success, is closely tied to Customer Satisfaction, Profitability and Market Share.

A satisfied customer is likely to remain loyal to a brand, thus enhancing market share over the longterm, as new customers are acquired. Retained customers increase the profitability of a brand. In the course of acquiring new customers, retained customers’ purchases can be counted on for continued profit performance.

It’s widely known that it’s five times more expensive to acquire a new customer than it is to keep an old one. Makes you wonder why marketers don’t generally invest more in Customer Retention, doesn’t it?

Few business organizations focus on all four elements of marketing success, probably because they’re difficult to balance and manage as separate items, yet they’re strongly interdependent.

The four elements of marketing success are reasons enough for financial managers and marketing managers to gain a better understanding of one another’s’ disciplines and work toward the common good of their companies.

TiVo is just a DVR – How Direct TV and Others Pack

TiVo is just a DVR – How Direct TV and Others Packaged A Product for Success

by: Nick Smith

Studying the way Direct TV packaged and positioned TiVo for success in a competitive market can indicate principles for successful marketing for small or home businesses. This article looks at TiVo’s success and discusses the marketing principles that made it work.

TiVo, the poster child of technological advancement for companies like Direct TV, is really nothing more than a middleaged woman in a designer dress – with plastic surgery. The technology behind TiVo is really just a tweaked DVR, or digital video recorder. Other companies have it; but no other company has built as successful marketing package around their product as has Direct TV with TiVo.

What is TiVo, um, I mean a Digital Video Recorder?

Digital Video Recorders capture video in a way similar to old video recorders, but they do it digitally. Watchers can ขpause and rewind live TVข because the speed and response time of DVRs, like TiVo, provide for a virtually seamless transition from live TV to recorded material. Based on user settings, up to 80 hours of television can be recorded. This can include your favorite show each week, or you can record everything you watch to make sure you don’t miss anything. Remember, every DVR can do this, not just TiVo.

The difference is the way Direct TV has partnered with TiVo and positioned it for success in the highly competitive market of satellite television and accessories. The true success of TiVo’s marketing strategy lies in the fact that many people believe it is a unique product.

With product lines in competitive markets, positioning and packaging is king. Direct TV touts TiVo in nearly every major marketing campaign they put together. They offer discount TiVo technologies to new customers who are willing to commit to a oneyear contract. My guess is that if you have ever heard of Direct TV and seen any advertisement they have produced, you have been exposed to the TiVo name and features.

Have You Ever Heard of Tevas?

The three strap sandals that have come in and out of fashion over the last few decades are now known almost universally as ขTevas.ข Chalk up a point for the company Teva that created and marketed their sandals extremely successfully. When was the last time you had jello (actually a name brand of gelatin desert), or used a Kleenex (trademarked name for a tissue)? Do you ask for a ขCokeข no matter what flavor of soda it is? The list goes on and on, including the most recent tendency to refer to all DVR technology as ขTiVo.ข

What are you going to do about it?

If you own a small business or operate one out of your home, you might not be running your own unique product line. But if you do, what are you doing to package it and position it for success? Consider doing the following:

• Name your product or service. It may sound silly, like naming your car ขBetsyข or ขLechuga,ข but a name is an essential part of successful repackaging. This is what TiVo did when they renamed their DVR technology. Rather than call it a car wash, try something like ขDirty Mike’s 15Point SuperClean.ข Maybe five years from now people will say they need a ขsupercleanข instead of saying they need a ขcarwash.ข Keep reading below for legal considerations.

• Before you start using a new slogan or title, double check to make sure another company does not already own the trademark or copyright. The last thing you want to do (or pay for) when you own a small business is a lengthy legal process over something you could have avoided had you done the research.

• Get legal protection for your products, names, and slogans. At the same time you are doing your research, register your trademarks, copyrights, and where appropriate your patents. Registering your intellectual property with the government will go a long way when it comes time to stop others from infringing on your company name or intellectual rights.
