Four Tips For Getting More Mileage From Your Artic

Four Tips For Getting More Mileage From Your Articles

by: Bonnie Jo Davis

It has become common knowledge that the smartest and most effective free method of advertising your business and services is to write and submit articles to the over 400,000 ezines currently on the กnet. There are even several ebooks written on the topic, including mine, that will help you take advantage of this effective technique. What do you do next after youกve invested the hours necessary to research, write, proofread, edit and submit your article to thousands of ezine publishers?

I recommend several methods of recycling articles to clients who utilize my article submission services that Iกm going to share with you today:

1. Publish each of your articles on a separate page on your web site. Then take the keywords from that article that you used in the title and text and create a set of meta tags for that page. Use a free meta tag generator like http://www.anybrowser.com/MetaTagGenerator.html to make sure your meta tags are properly formatted and all inclusive. Next, submit the article page to all of the free search engines. Once that page is indexed those keywords will attract searchers to visit your site where you can convert them to loyal customers.

2. Take the article youกve written and customize it for an industry you want to target. For example, I have a client who writes internet promotion articles. After submission she customizes her articles for real estate agents, accountants, ophthalmologists, home health care companies, etc. I then offer the customized articles to the industry associations representing those groups. This tactic has resulted in hundreds of thousands of fresh, new visitors to her web site when an association prints her customized article in their newsletter or magazine.

3. Choose an article youกve written that outlines several key points on a particular topic. Write an in depth, expanded article on each key point. Contact all the publishers on your list and offer them the expanded key point articles and ask them to run them as a series. A series of articles is much more effective than a single article because each potential customer needs to be exposed to you and your business several times before becoming a customer.

4. Take the original article and the expanded key point articles and offer them as an ecourse to people who visit your site and sign up for your ezine. Use a free autoresponder like http://www.sendfree.com to deliver the articles in sequence. This gives you the opportunity to capture email addresses for your ezine and allows you to use a different byline highlighting your services and products with each article delivery.

Use these four tips every time youกve finished submitting an article and you will get thousands of additional targeted visitors to your web site with just a little extra effort!

Home Business Success 5 Things You Learn From Yo

Home Business Success 5 Things You Learn From Your ExBoss

by: Gobala Krishnan

In the past, everyone could take pride in working for large, multinational companies. The current trend of downsizing and outsourcing, however, has brought major changes in the employment landscape. One thing for sure, as job security becomes a thing of the past, many are turning towards starting their own home based businesses.

Job security has its merits, and a home business is, arguably, not for everyone. But for those who are interested in making this shift, a change in mentality is absolutely important. There are many bad habits that lie dormant in all of us. You need to change these bad habits and develop new good habits to survive as an entrepreneur. And in many cases these can be กborrowedก from your existing or former corporate work environment.

Here are some new disciplines that you can borrow from your working life, to develop and to practice:

1) Ownership and Decision Making

In corporate culture, you are responsible only for what your job requires you to do. In most jobs however, you are hardly responsible for the survival of the company. Your contribution, as compared to the whole, is only marginal. You can make mistakes and get away with it. Your job is easily replaceable.

As an entrepreneur, however, you may find the world to be less forgiving. A mistake can cost you your entire business. It is vital for anyone who wants to start their own home based business to think about this fact. You have to realize that success in a home based venture is directly tied up to your actions, and you need to take responsibility for everything that happens.

In your own business, you need to go beyond your capacity at times, stretching yourself more than you would as an employee. Taking responsibility also means being able to make the correct decisions as and when needed. When you work from home, YOUR decision is final. Although it may a little scary for an entrepreneur at first, these habits practiced over time becomes second nature.

It sure beats having to put up with corporate redtape!

2) Developing a Creative Mindset & Taking Risks

Companies hardly, if ever, reward you for being creative. They do, however, reward you for showing up on time and completing your daily routines. You are rewarded not for being outstanding, but for being average.

As an entrepreneur, you need to shake off the bad habit of doing things the usual way, the กway itกs always been doneก There is nothing wrong with using standard procedures and methods. In fact, sticking to the กrulesก can help you make a decent living. But if you want the big money, like I do, you need to start thinking กOutside the Boxก. A little bit of ingenuity in your business can save you a lot of money and time.

Ingenuity involves finding solutions to a problem. You may, at any stage of your home business, realize that you just don’t have an abundance of resources. Resources in this context can be money, time, expertise or just about everything else that you need, but just don’t have…

As you might have figured, creativity comes with risk. Doing something new is more risky than doing it the old way, but the payoff is incredible. Thinking outside the box might result in failure, just as well as it might lead to amazing success. But risk is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when it is studied, anticipated and even welcomed.

So what do you do?

Most home business challenges can be solved, even if you are not a genius or have thousands of dollars to spend. If you can just use your ingenuity, you can find a solution to these challenges.

Figure out how to make the best of your advertising dollars. Figure out how to save time and automate your business. Figure out how to complement your skills using the skills of others. Small steps like these can go a long way in determining just how successful you will be.

3) Making Your Own Rules & Organizing Time

Imagine you arrive at work one day and find that the punchcard machine has been removed. The company also fired your boss, and the new rules say that you can come in at any time you want, bring your wife and kids along, and take as many breaks as you want. Shorts and a Tshirts are now the standard, accepted work attire.

What would you do?

I know what I would do absolutely nothing at all! I would take advantage of the situation, and do absolutely no work at all. As days go by, I get lazier and eventually become a total slob.

A home business environment is not much different from the scenario above. In the absence of corporate rules, you must develop your own self imposed กhome business rulesก. Set a time for work, for play, and for household activities. If you just decide to กgo with the flowก, you often get no where at all.

I used to think that money was the most important asset of my home business. Being quite naive, I thought that with more money, I could be successful faster. After all, money is king. With more money, I could buy more กbig timeก advertising, hire assistants and equip my business with the best software systems.

It didn’t take me long to realize that time is more important than money. Money simply cannot buy time. But with more time, I can all make all the money I want. Put in another way, I would say that MORE TIME is more important than just MORE MONEY. But none of us, not you, nor me, can have more than 24 hours a day at our disposal.

So, as a home business entrepreneur, we need to ultimately learn how to make the best use of the time that we have. This easy to say, but it will take discipline to see it through. Discipline is not easy to achieve, but it CAN be done. Just focus on doing a little bit every day, and stick to the timeline you had laid out, and you will get into the productive rhythm that comes with discipline.

4) Continuous Selfimprovement

The home business arena is highly competitive. As an entrepreneur you will need to keep up with any event that will effect your business, for better or worse.

Corporations usually have mandatory training courses for all employees. If you are someone who attended these courses just to get away from doing work, or just to get some extra sleeping time in the class, then you need to change your attitude.

As an entrepreneur you must to find ways to enrich yourself with more knowledge. Take that accounting class, attend that local business seminar and read related books. Don’t see these as additional expenses, see them as long term investment. An investment in knowledge, after all, yields the best return.

Every type of business is subject to slowdowns. If you do not continuously improve your skills and knowledge, simply throwing in more money or hiring more people when that happens will not solve the problem. The only way to move forward, to get to ‘the next levelก is to acquire new knowledge. New knowledge opens up more opportunities for your business.

5) Commitment to Your Goals & Deadlines for Success

กI want this on my desk by 2.00pmก.

Sounds familiar? Most of us seek a home based business because we want to escape the pressures of a 95 job. The word กdeadlineก may send a shiver through your spine.

The irony, however, is that deadlines are EXACTLY what you need to succeed in just about anything. As an entrepreneur, these deadlines always are, and must be, selfimposed. There are many book on how to set and achieve goals (my recommendations at http://www.homebusinessassociation.com/books/) and I suggest you read as many as you can.

Having family around you can be used to your advantage. Communicate your goals to your wife or husband. Promise your kids a vacation when youกve finished a major task. Soon, you will get little กbossesก running around telling you to stop watching TV and get to your work. Well, at least they are กadorableก bosses!

An excerpt from the book ‘think and Grow Richก by Napoleon Hill (pg. 15):

…a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He… gave the order to burn the ships that carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle he said กYou see the boats going up in smoke? That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice We win or we perishก.

They won.

And no matter what YOUR goals are in seeking selfemployment and an entrepreneurial life, with commitment to your goals and determination to meet your deadlines, you too will win. Take the positive aspects of your current of former work environment to build a healthy and productive home business mentality to ensure that you are heading towards success.

Hereกs to your success. Cheers.

What Tablet PCs Can Do for You

What Tablet PCs Can Do for You

by: Nick Smith

Tablet PCs are great. If you are a mobile person, and you have never considered getting a tablet PC in the past, now is as good a time as any to start checking them out the technology is cuttingedge, the usability is superb, and prices are starting to drop.

There are two main types of tablet PCs: convertible and slate. Convertible tablets look a lot like normal laptops except the screen can be rotated all the way around and laid down flat across the keyboard. You then input information through the screen using a stylus. Slate tablet PCs include only the screen interface – though they are fully integratable with peripherals like keyboards and mouses, the computer itself does not have them. Both types are viable options, depending on your personal preferences and what you’ll be using it for.

As with any technology, tablet PCs have advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to the last few years of development and enhancement, the disadvantages are shrinking in number, and the perks are becoming more and more enticing.

Advantages of Tablet PCs

Far and away, the best thing about tablet PCs is their mobility. You can take and use them anywhere you go, the same way you would take a notebook and pen. That means that when your boss bumps into you in the hallway and gives you a number of assignments, you can write them down. In meetings you don’t have to hide your face behind the monitor of your laptop because you can lay the tablet PC flat on the table. For students, this mobility is great you can study your notes while you’re waiting in lines or even in the car.

Tablet PCs let you use digital ink to store handwritten notes, graphs, charts, and pictures. You don’t have to worry about taking your laptop and a notepad and pen to meetings or classes. Using the stylus, tablet PCs record your handwriting and drawings. They can convert your handwriting to text if you need to turn in an assignment typewritten.

All of the money you have been spending on pens, pencils, highlighters, notepads, papers, binders, folders, staples, and paperclips stays in your pocket. Because of the digital ink option on tablet PCs, much of the need for paper supplies and writing utensils is eliminated. You can keep all your notes on your computer.

Finally, one of the advantages of tablet PCs over regular laptops is that you don’t lose any functionality from your computer. Tablets operate on similar platforms and run many of the same programs. In fact, many programs integrate all of their normal functions with digital ink, so you can add notes to documents and even email your handwritten notes to someone.

Disadvantages of Tablet PCs

Despite my obvious zeal for tablet PCs, I recognize that there are still some disadvantages. First is the price. The prices for tablet PCs are coming down quite a bit from when they were first released, but on average, you can expect to spend more for a tablet PC than for its equivalent laptop. Depending on the bells and whistles you’re looking for, expect to pay anywhere from $1,000 on up.

The handwritingtotext conversion does not always work the way you wish it would. Just like speechtotext systems require a trained style of speech to work properly, tablet PCs recognize a trained penmanship easier than the way you may write naturally. A lot of the kinks in these conversion systems have been worked out but don’t plan on handwriting your next novel expecting to be able to convert into a printready copy with no problems.

Finally, their smaller size is both an advantage and disadvantage. They are much more mobile than their laptop counterparts, but the viewing area is also smaller. Likewise, the keyboard also shrinks down to accommodate the smaller size, so if you feel like your fingers are already cramped on a laptopsized keyboard, youกll want to make sure you’re going to be able to use the tablet PCs before you buy one.

Cisco Certification: Taking Your First Certificati

Cisco Certification: Taking Your First Certification Exam

by: Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933

You’ve studied hard; you’ve practiced your configurations; you’ve used your flash cards over and over again; and finally, the big day is here. Your first certification exam!

For many Cisco certification candidates, their first exam is the CCNA Composite exam or one of the two exams that make up the CCNA, the Introduction To Networking exam or the ICND (Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices) exam.

Walking into a testing center for the first time can be a nervewracking experience. You’ve got enough on your mind just keeping all that new information straight without worrying about what the testing experience will be like.

You’re not there to take the exam. You’re there to pass the exam. With this aggressive attitude in mind, let’s take a look at what you should expect (and not expect) when taking your first Cisco certification exam.

Be Early and Bring Your ID.

If the testing center is not in a part of town that you drive to in the morning, and you’ve got a 9 AM exam, you may find the traffic is much heavier that time of morning than you expected. Driving up to the testing center 10 minutes late is not a good way to get started. If you’ve never been to the center before, check their website for directions, or call them for directions. If at all possible, drive to the center the night before your exam.

Make sure to bring your wallet or purse. You cannot take the exam without proper identification. You’ll probably be asked for two forms of ID, one of which must be a picture ID.

Paper or Dry Erase Board: It’s Your Choice.

Most testing centers hand you a dry erase board and a marker. Make sure that the marker has a fine point; when you’re answering subnetting questions or performing a hexadecimaltobinary conversion, that will come in handy.

If you’re more comfortable with paper and pencil, ask for it. The testing center employee will be glad to give you some. They will mark the paper before giving it to you; don’t take it personally. That’s just to make sure you give them the same paper they give you.

The Testing Room

Despite the best efforts of VUE and Prometric, some testing center rooms are afterthoughts. I strongly advise that if you’re taking your exam at a technical school, ask to see the testing room BEFORE you sign up for the exam. If it looks like a converted broom closet, it probably is. Those rooms also tend to be right next to classrooms, which can result in distracting noise during your exam.

If your testing center specializes in giving computerbased exams rather than classes, you’re probably in good shape. Again, feel free to drop by the testing center before your exam to take a peek at the testing room. Most testing rooms have a window that employees use to keep an eye on testers, and you should be able to take a peek through the window.

When you go in, you’ll be asked to enter your social security number as your testing ID. Once you do that, the exam engine starts running. However, this doesn’t mean the test starts.

The Survey

When you take a Cisco exam, you’ll first be presented with a survey. The survey consists of 10 – 20 questions asking about your background, preparation methods, and comfort level with different technologies. This is a good time to catch your breath before starting the exam. The survey will only take about five minutes, and this time does not count against your exam time.

Pay Attention To The Exam Tutorials

You’ll then be presented with an exam tutorial, showing you how to answer the different types of questions Cisco may ask. While most of these questions types are common sense (multiple choice, single answer, fillintheblank), I strongly urge you to pay special attention to the router simulator question tutorial.

The simulator questions carry more weight than the other questions; indeed, it’s almost impossible to pass the CCNA exams if you totally miss the simulator questions. While the interface for these exams is intuitive, sometimes students who fail their exam complain that they were not given enough information to answer the question. The real problem is that they didn’t look in the right place for that information. It’s not hidden, but spend a few minutes with the tutorial and do not go forward until you’re comfortable with the simulator interface.

The Exam Itself

Finally, the exam starts! Remember, you’re not being asked anything you don’t know. If you have prepared correctly with the right tools, you’ll have a passing grade on your screen before you know it.

Speaking of that grade, you’ll be presented with it about five seconds after you answer the final question. Cisco exams no longer allow CCNA and CCNP candidates to go back once a question is answered, so be prepared for that.

Knowing what to expect when you go into the testing room for the first time will magnify your chances of success. Work hard (and smart!) while studying, achieve a combination of theoretical knowledge and handson work with real Cisco routers, and you are on your way to exam success!

Tap the Ultimate Source of Abundance: How to Put M

Tap the Ultimate Source of Abundance: How to Put More of YOU into Your Business

by: Amanda Murphy

Corporations ignore consumers’ real needs…Company leaders engage in questionable business practices…Business owners and employees do work they don’t enjoy simply to pay the bills…such is the state of today’s business world.

The key to bringing the world back to life will also bring you abundance in your business. The world needs people who are vibrantly alive and ready to build a new kind of business. We need businesses that express our missions as human beings and make a contribution to the planet – and thrive in the process.

You will create a magnetic attraction when your vision, your values, and your vocation are perfectly aligned. When planning a business, very few people take the time to look inside, to align their unique natural gifts, talents, and desires with the product or service their business provides.

Answering the following questions will help you attract abundance through your business. When you have done this, you will thrive in ways you cannot imagine.

1. Why do you do the work you do?

Most owners are in businesses because they saw an opportunity or because they have some professional experience they can conveniently sell. Their business is simply what they do and does not necessarily reflect their greatest talents or passions.

However, if you take the time to examine your gifts, your talents, and the particular message you have for the world, you will discover inspiring ways to earn money by sharing those talents. When your business expresses who you are, clients instinctively recognize that you are sincerely and personally committed to their happiness and success. No one can fake true concern.

2. With whom do you want to work?

Most business owners have customers or clients they dread dealing with, yet they continue to do business with them month after month. Whether you realize it or not, your customers know what you’re thinking about them.

Therefore, it is in everyone’s best interest for you to be proactive and ขfireข clients who are not a good fit for your business. This will free you to focus on the people you care about. When you do business with people you like, they will naturally bring out your best work and inspire you to become better at what you do. Your better efforts will attract more perfect customers who will inspire you further. From there, your ability to thrive is unstoppable.

When the right prospective customer crosses your path and you can clearly and simply describe exactly what they are feeling, they are captivated. They feel understood and validated, and they will trust you to take care of their concerns.

3. What do you do for your clients?

Generally speaking, a customer’s primary concern is to find someone who can solve their problem and make their pain stop. Therefore, you need to see your business from your customer’s perspective.

For example, instead of saying, ขWe provide accurate, professional bookkeeping services,ข say, ขWe make sure you have the precise financial information you need, when you need it.ข Rather than making a statement of fact, such as, ขWe are attorneys who specialize in small businesses,ข present your service through their eyes, as in, ขWe take the mystery out of protecting what you’ve worked so hard to build.ข Make a list of the benefits your customers will receive as a result of working with you or buying your products. Make sure each one is stated in specific terms a client can identify with, and then market this to your customers.

4. How do you set yourself apart?

Becoming an expert in your field is the best longterm way to attract abundance. You don’t need to have all the answers to be an expert; in fact most experts rely on many other professionals in and out of their field. What makes you an expert is your will, your drive, your passion, your confidence, and your ability to create solutions for your customers’ needs.

Remember, people draw conclusions about things and about each other within a matter of seconds. You may have 20 seconds to convince a potential client or customer that you are the solution to his or her problem. After that, you become lost in a current of information overload. So set yourself apart from the crowd, and watch your business soar.

5. The Final Key To Building an Abundant Life: What Permission Do You Need To Give Yourself?

You already know deep down what you want to do. You have an idea what changes you need to make in your business. You know what’s not working.

You may be holding yourself back from taking the actions you know you need to take. Somewhere in your subconscious you may be following harmful ขrulesข you’ve made for yourself. You may believe you don’t deserve wild success. You may believe that work can’t be fun. You may believe that you owe it to those around you to maintain the status quo.

When you identify your restrictive beliefs, you can decide to let go of them. Be truthful with yourself. What permission do you need to give yourself to make all of your dreams a reality? Some examples may be: ขFire (or hire) those three people,ข ขTake only the jobs/assignments that I would enjoy,ข or ขMake more money than anyone I know.ข Be specific.

The Sky is the Limit

You now have the tools to develop a business strategy that capitalizes on your unique abilities and interests. Since many people are unable to objectively observe themselves, if you have difficulty answering any of these questions, brainstorm ideas with a business partner or a business coach. This is important, because the sooner you incorporate these abilities into your business presentation, the more prosperity you are able to attract. You will know what you have to share with the world, and this knowledge is your single most powerful wealthattraction tool.

Any of your competitors can read the same business books and articles you do, but none of them can duplicate your heart and soul. Find the right answers to these five questions and you can be certain your prospects will say, ขI have GOT to work with you!ข

Internet Marketing Seminars: Prepare to Meet Your

Internet Marketing Seminars: Prepare to Meet Your Mentor

by: Rosalind Gardner

During my early twenties, while stationed in the frigid northern Canadian town of Timmins, Ontario, I took a number of University of Waterloo correspondence courses, with the hope of earning my degree and a way out of that frozen wasteland.

Did I learn a lot? Absolutely!

Did I benefit from the information? Again, absolutely! What would you like to know about Christallerกs กCentral Placeก theory?

Did I get my degree? Errr?no, I did not.

For me, the distance learning process was difficult and sorely lacking. I found it hard to motivate and discipline myself to study on my own schedule.

After listening to an audiotaped lecture, I couldn’t simply raise my hand to get answers to my questions.

Indeed, who were those people who were spouting their infinite wisdom? Were they graduate students, or bonafide experts with practical experience in their field?

Getting feedback on submitted assignments took weeks by snail mail. There were no other students with whom to share ideas and concerns. More importantly, where were the rabblerousing allnight parties that were supposed to be part of my University experience?

Oncampus university students usually take 4 or 5 courses per semester to earn a degree in 3 or 4 years, but a correspondence student with a fulltime job is hardpressed to complete just 2 courses per semester. Taking ten years to complete one degree wasn’t likely to impress potential employers in the Sunny South.

All in all, I felt like I was going to freeze to death in the vacuum of distance learning.

Trying to build a successful Internet or affiliate marketing business by studying ebooks is a little bit like trying to earn a business degree by correspondence.

Sure, you can do it, and I highly recommend that you take advantage of all educational material relevant to your online ventures.

However, while some students do very well with distance education, most of us learn faster and more easily when we can see and hear our teachers, and get answers to our questions as they come up.

For example, how many books would you have to read to equal the value of two or three days of multimedia presentations, on a variety of related topics, in an environment where you can ask questions and exchange ideas with both teachers and students? Three, four even five?

How long would it take you to read five books?

A week? A month? More?

No, really. You’re a busy person. Youกve probably got a fulltime job, a family, friends, a home to take care of and other pressing obligations.

After spending 10 hours commuting to and from work, 40 hours at work, 49 hours sleeping, 20 hours with your family and friends, 15 hours eating, 7 hours maintaining your home and another 10 hours maintaining your muscles; thereกs not much time left in the week to do your ‘required readingก ? IF you have the discipline.

And have you ever met the person who wrote the ebook that you’re currently reading about copywriting? Do they really practice what they preach?

Wouldn’t you rather learn marketing, sales, and copywriting strategies firsthand from selfmade millionaires who use those same techniques everyday; than from กpick and shovel sellersก who sell only moneymaking guides?

Instead of spending months and months learning on your own, what if you could spend just two or three days at a seminar learning about every topic that is important to you as an Internet entrepreneur? How much more quickly would your business become profitable?

The truth is that กpick and shovel sellersก don’t and can’t speak at seminars because they can’t answer your tough questions?and you need answers to your tough questions.

Do you ever wonder, กHow do I build a huge optin list?ก กHow do I find Super Affiliates to promote my online business?ก กWhat does it take to become a super affiliate?ก กWhich search engine optimization strategies work best?ก กWhat tools do successful Internet marketers really use in their businesses?ก กAre there easy ways to find a profitable niche or make money using payperclick advertising?ก

You can get all of your questions answered in the space of a weekend. All you have to do is show up, listen and ask.

Probably more than the copious amounts of great information that youกll take away from a seminar, is how inspired you will feel after hearing กordinaryก people tell their extraordinary success stories.

There is incredible power and motivation that comes from meeting selfmade millionaires in person and being able to see that they are as ‘realก as you or I. Learning that they too worked hard, made mistakes, and yet achieved the dream of true financial freedom will fuel a fire within you that burns long after the seminar is over.

Meeting your mentors and making friends at these events is another valuable benefit. How great would it be to just pick up the phone and talk with someone who understands your business? Can you do that now?

Attending a seminar isn’t cheap, however. It often costs several hundred to a couple thousand dollars just to get in the door, and that doesn’t include your airfare or accommodation. Though in many cases, you should be able to write off those expenses against your future earnings.

If you’re worried about the price of going to a seminar, consider what Nigel Botterill of Solihull, West Midlands, U.K. had to say about his experience during and after attending one of Yanik Silverกs seminars.

กI came across from the UK for the event knowing nothing about กInformation Marketingก…I want you to know just how bloody useful the whole thing was. Iกm very grateful to you for putting it all together. Within five weeks of the event I had launched my first product.

กWithin nine months of the event, using the techniques and tips that I learned from all the fantastic speakers at your Birthday Bash, I have generated well over one million dollars in sales from that single product. It has been incredible. All this with no previous experience just the education I got from three days in Florida!

กIกve closed down my กoldก business, changed my entire way of life, and am having so much fun.

กScary to think how different things would be if I hadn’t ‘taken the plungeก and booked on your event…ก

So, will YOU earn a million dollars from your fledgling Internet business in the next nine months, or even just a few thousand? Or will you still be struggling to figure out how to build your first web site?

Thatกs entirely up to you.

But if you want to put yourself on a fasttrack to success, attend a weekend seminar and meet your mentor today!

Get The Most Out Of Your Digital Camera Today!

Point and click. The new life of digital cameras gives us all the opportunity to capture images as we go. Whether you simply hit the shutter button to take pictures of your friends and family or if you want to have your camera with you at all times in order to capture the beauty of life wherever you find it, getting the most out of your digital camera can be easy.

Letกs imagine ourselves with the perfect set up of digital camera and a few accessories to make things just right. My personal and professional recommendation is that we start with memory. Get more today. If you only have one memory card for your camera it is time to add to the collection. If you have more than one then good job! The more memory you have for your digital camera the less likely it will be that you get stuck wanting to take more pictures and have no more room on the storage. Memory is relatively cheap, takes up no space in your kit and gives you total control over creativity.

Your camera comes with a variety of quality settings to work with when taking images. Don’t use TIFF, leave it on one of the medium quality level settings and your camera will take fine images for you and not eat up all your memory. If you use the highest setting you will get very few images onto your card. They will for the most part be of very high quality but you would only want to shoot at that level of quality if you are intending to make high quality large format prints of your images.

Now if that child of yours is just so incredibly cute and your wall is aching for a portrait of his or her shining face then by all means do it on the highest quality. The key will be to use good software to process the image and then a printer that can make a large format, high quality print of your image. They exist and for not unreasonable prices I might add.

I was stunned at a recent art show in my neighborhood to be looking at a photographerกs exhibit of large size prints (18×24 and up in size) to find out that he shoots exclusively in digital now. He was a former film photographer who switched over in recent years and now makes stunning prints from his digital images. His landscape images were simply amazing and to find out that he shot them on a good digital camera made me very curious about the process, but that is fodder for another article.

Juice is the answer to your next question. Always have more juice. I spent 20 years in the TV news business and my mantra was always have extra batteries ready to go and an extra tape under the back seat in case of emergency. For TV cameras the batteries were always big and heavy rechargeable NiCads. Lithium batteries are the rage nowadays as they are lighter in weight, have no memory problems, and run longer. Digital still cameras can take advantage of Lithium batteries but the cost is often slightly prohibitive for most of us. Some camera systems use proprietary battery systems. I would recommend not buying into that sort of system. Try to buy a camera that uses universal types of batteries such as AAกs. I use a camera that takes AAกs and I have three sets of rechargeable batteries so I can rotate through them and never be caught short. Total cost for three sets of batteries is about $30, and they will last you several years if you treat them right. If you just buy regular AA batteries and shoot a lot of images your battery cost might triple that over a like period of time.

Edison did it and now we consider him a genius. Experimentation is the name of the game. Digital images cost you nothing but time and a little battery life. Play around and take lots of shots of things, people, events, you name it. Look at magazines, newspapers and notice what images look cool to you. Try to take shots like that yourself so you can see how it is done. This will get you thinking about how to make your everyday shots better. Look for new and different ways to frame things, take both a vertical and a horizontal shot of the same thing and see how it changes perspective. Get closer to your subject, or get farther away to see which looks better. Find something unique about your subject and look for a way to exploit that for a better image. Here is and example, say for instance you have a great looking car you want a picture of, well don’t stand across the street from it and zoom in on the car, get right up close with the sun behind you so the car is sparkling shiny and fills the whole frame of the image. Find itกs best feature and center that in the shot say the awesome lines of front of the car or snazzy wheels.

Print something from your camera every week to remind you of the beauty of everyday things. Take shots all the time, pick one and print it out and then put it in front of you for a day or a week. Live life as though you want beauty around you all the time. If you are madly in love then surround yourself with pictures of that love. If you live in a beautiful place then take pictures of it all the time to make sure you never forget how special it is to be there in your life. Don’t let those images hide away and not be seen. Wallpaper on your computer can be another place to put your weekly image, change it regularly with images from your family, work, life, hobby and you will get more smiles and more joy out of your camera than you know what to do with. My current wallpaper takes me back to a wonderful day on a mountain lake this past summer paddling kayaks in the afternoon breeze. What about yours?

Laptop Security: How to Protect Your Laptop When T

Laptop Security: How to Protect Your Laptop When Traveling

by: Jonathan Chase

Most business people who travel these days have a laptop in tow. Since the workflow doesn’t stop when the need to travel arises, these are necessities that connect them to the rest of the world and allow them to take care of whatever business comes up during the time that they’re away. That being the case, there are certain guidelines that should be followed in order to ensure the safety and protection of your laptop when you get called away from the office.

One of the first considerations that should be made is in regard to the laptop’s security. Since thieves will target these as often as they will cash, jewelry or other valuables, it’s critical to put as many security measures into place as possible when traveling through airports, bus terminals, train stations and any other form of public travel. Of course, it’s never wise to leave your laptop unattended. It’s a sad testament to the way of the world, but you can be fairly certain that when you return, your equipment will be gone.

When packing for your trip, place the laptop in a case that’s different – and less obvious – from its standard carrying case, and make sure that it’s checked in as carryon luggage. This will not only ensure that it doesn’t get stolen, but will be in the pressurized part of the plane, rather than the baggage compartment, which doesn’t have pressure or climate controls that are needed to ensure the integrity of the laptop.

If you’re planning to take a nap while you’re en route via public transportation, be sure to secure the laptop before going to sleep. Some people go so far as to cuff the unit to their wrist, but there are other measures that you can take, which include placing it in its case and putting it between your feet or between yourself and the wall if you’re sitting by a window. In the event that anything should actually happen to violate the integrity of the laptop – or if it should be stolen, despite your precautions – it’s to be expected that you’ll have backed up all critical information onto disks before beginning your travels.

When you arrive at the hotel, speak with the front desk clerk to be sure that their phone jacks are compatible with your unit. If they happen to use a digital phone system which differs in voltage from that of a standard phone jack, your modem will most likely be damaged when you try to plug it in and dialup to get an outside connection. The best approach is to call ahead and check on these accommodations before making the trip, so that you’ll know what to expect and not be left with any nasty surprises.

In addition to the laptop itself, it’s always a good idea to bring an extension cord and extra batteries. Even though you may plan to use electricity, you should also include a backup plan, and batteries may only give you a few hours’ worth of power at a time before needing to be recharged or changed. When possible, cut down on the use of those things which need large amounts of energy, such as CDROMs, and reduce the number of autosaves on your machine.

By using your common sense and taking simple precautions, as well as including some backup cords and batteries, you should be able to travel safely and simply with your laptop without a lot of hoopla.

Five Top Tips For A Prosperous 2004

Five Top Tips For A Prosperous 2004

by: Steve Shaw

According to many market forecasts, 2004 is likely to be a buoyant year online. These are my top tips for making the most of it, and ensuring a happy, healthy and prosperous 2004.

1. Seek out new markets and niches, and make them work for you.

This is a simple technique to find profitable niches for your business. Download the free Good Keywords software from goodkeywords.com this is a virtual crystal ball into what you should be selling online. Find keywords that have a high number of searches, and a low number of pages for those keywords on the most popular search engine, Google. The ratio between the number of searches, and the number of results found for that keyword or phrase, determines the potential profitability of the keyword.

Another method is to use the free trial service at wordtracker.com.

Create a product or service around the profitable keyword, and youกll be onto a potential goldmine online.

2. Automate, automate, automate

If you find you are doing something repetitively, is it something you can automate? Automating a repetitive task is something that could save you hours, if not days or weeks of time, in 2004, all of which you could be spending doing something more worthwhile and profitable.

Automate almost everything you can, wherever possible. An Internet business allows for a great deal of automation, from list management to product fulfillment, so take advantage of it wherever you can.

3. Seek out nonemailreliant profit avenues

With spam filters, overloaded email folders, and increasing legislation proving evermore troublesome to legitimate optin email marketers, itกs wise to develop branches of your business that do not solely rely on email for profitability.

Thatกs not to say email marketing is no longer relevant or important, it quite clearly is both of these when used effectively but my tip for 2004 is to try to find other supplementary routes to profitability.

For example, a niche area in the search engines (as outlined in tip 1 above) will bring you a lot of traffic, without overrelying on email as a traffic and sales generation tool and even if you don’t have a specific product, if you combine great content with effective use of Google Adsense, thatกs another great income stream for your business.

Success online is all about not putting all your eggs into one basket, and developing กmultiple streams of incomeก. If you lost your email list(s) overnight, would you still be profitable?

4. Take more exercise

What? Whatกs that got to do with doing business online?

Well, more than you think. For one, sitting in front of a computer for 12 hours a day can be detrimental to your health and if you don’t have your health, you won’t have much of a business.

Getting some regular fresh air and exercise will not only help to keep you healthy, it will also:

Increase your energy levels, so you can get a lot more done in less time.

Clear your head, so you can concentrate more effectively.

Help you to relax and come up with some great ideas for your business (my best and most profitable ideas come to me when Iกm on vacation, or otherwise relaxed and กswitched offก).

Boost your confidence and selfesteem, the absence of which is often at the route of many business failures. When you’re confident, you take more risks, and risktaking is closely linked to profitability. If you stay the same, and take no risks, you’re unlikely to move forward in your business.

And don’t forget, while you are exercising, you can listen to educational tapes and CDs that will help you grow and learn, all of which can boost your business longterm.

5. Set goals

Close your eyes, and picture yourself at the end of 2004. Where would you like to be?

If you continue doing what you are doing now, where will you be, realistically?

Set some goals that will get you from where you are currently heading, to where you would like to be. Break those goals down into specific steps that know you can achieve, and will ensure you reach your goals by the end of 2004.

Refer to your goals regularly, don’t be afraid to adjust them if necessary during the year, and take one step at a time.

Part 2 Do Not Ever Link to a Site Without Doing T

Part 2 Do Not Ever Link to a Site Without Doing This First!

by: John Krycek

Writing Links

In the first part of this article we learned some techniques to build a solid potential link partner list for your website. Those sites aren’t any good to you if you don’t use a strategy for writing the textual content of those links. Yes. I mean those few little words that are underlined in blue. In the right order they give the key to your website door to the world. In the wrong order, they don’t budge the cylinders in the lock.

Number of links takes second place to quality of links. The words you choose, varying them for each targeted link site, and incorporating some tried and true direct mail standard tactics will make your links more popular in the search engines, which is our ultimate goal. So lets get started!

As we said earlier, links are a crucial part of attaining high search rankings. The key to writing good กlink contentก uses the same tactics for writing all good web content. Namely, don’t write for the search engines. Write for your readers and target audience. After you do that, then go back and tweak the little details to optimize for the engines. Why? The search companies attempt to give results for human readers, and because a number one search engine position is worthless if the description of your site is the most boring thing anyone has ever read.

You have humans that are examining your site to see if they want to link to you. Even if you pay for links someone has to make the decision that you’re worthy of being on their site. And further, youกll never sell your product or service or attain any readership. Letกs take a simple stepbystep approach and make sure your links are lively, catchy, searchable and gushing to be clicked.

Pretend you’re the owner of a pumpkin company website. You sell all things made from pumpkins.

Step 1 Review Your Keyword List

Those are the words and phrases that you want to rank highly with in the search engines. They are the starting point for your link text. Note: กlink textก is the clickable part of the link, the underlined blue type. Letกs take some keywords and apply a few tactics to them to develop a good link.

A few keywords might be:

pumpkin retailer

pumpkin festival

pumpkin plant

pumpkin holiday

pumpkin festival

Step 2 Create variations on those keywords.

Think of phrases that someone might enter into a search engine. Using that thought as the core, build outward by elaborating and specifying. Ask yourself กwhat type of ____?ก to help you expand. For example, take the few keywords above and make them a bit more specific to:

pumpkin pie recipe

pumpkin bread recipe

cooking pumpkin seed

pumpkin patch

how to grow pumpkin

planting pumpkin seed

pumpkin carving design

carve Halloween pumpkin

pumpkin carving pattern

pumpkin costume

pumpkin centerpiece

Note: When coming up with additional keyword phrases (for use within your page elements and link) try this tool. www.inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ is part of Overture sponsored listings (now Yahoo) that will tell you how many times a phrase was searched in their engines on the web. Target the phrases with the most hits.

Step 3 Word Varieties

Your link should contain enough words so that when read out of context it still makes sense. Not so many words that it becomes blurred when a reader scans through a page.

Take the list you just made vary your keyword links using all of those keywords. Search engines raise an eyebrow at seeing กpumpkin recipeก on 50 sites with the exact same phrase all pointing back to you. It doesn’t see natural. Mixing up your link text with กpumpkin pie recipieก,กpumpkin bread recipeก, and กcooking pumpkin seedsก and the rest of your list keeps you well diversified without danger of spamming. And your keywords are more focused and targeted which gives you a better chance of being ranked higher.

Step 4 Incorporating Direct Mail Tactics

Now we have the words that will make up our link text. We’re almost finished. We need to give people some motivation to click.

The simplest of direct mail programs or incentive marketing campaigns all have a solid กcall to action.ก We need one here too. Why should a reader go to your site? Whatกs in it for them? Theyกve got better things to do.

So many websites use the phrases กClick here,ก กLearn more,ก or กMore infoก. Thereกs a definite boundary between keeping things simple and clean on a web page and just copping out. When I see those phrases on a link I think the writer didn’t have time to get me excited about their product so I don’t have time to go look.

It doesn’t take much to write a simple call to action. For example:

Instead of กpumpkin pie recipe,ก say กGrandmaกs pumpkin pie recipe and all things pumpkin at The Orange Pumpkin.ก Now your reader knows the name of your business (which will also be indexed), and thinks if itกs made by Grandma itกs probably good… I think Iกll have a look.

Step 5 Put it all together

Take your keyword phrase and surrounding text and create your link. The coded form looks like this.

Grandmaกs pumpkin pie recipe and all things pumpkin at The Orange Pumpkin.

Every single link doesn’t have to be different, but you should have quite a variety if you follow these steps for all your keywords.

Don’t forget to use those keywords within your page too!!

Step 6 Final Thoughts

Stay away from link farms and free for all link sites.

List in as many Directories as you can, especially ones that are of the same nature as your site.

Try to get oneway links. You might be able to buy some from someone fairly cheaply. If you have to get a reciprocal link, stick to sites that are similar in theme to yours. They don’t have to be identical, but in the case of The Orange Pumpkin Company, a link from a car dealer is a waste of time…unless that car dealer happens to have a collection of the worldกs greatest pumpkin recipes on their site. If thatกs the case, then try to get a link on the page with the recipes.

Even though you’re goal is to rank high in the searches, write for the end user. Then go back and finetune things for an optimized search engine friendly page.

Good luck and happy linking!

Selling Your Jewelry Creations Online

Selling Your Jewelry Creations Online

by: Lee Dobbins

Selling your jewelry creations online requires different skills and supplies then selling at shows or on consignment. You’ll need to develop good computer and digital photography skills as well as set up a shipping area and buy shipping supplies.

Jewelry is a very visual product to sell potential customers need high quality photographs that display the piece in detail as if they were holding it in their own hands. A good quality digital camera with zoom capabilities is essential for taking photos of jewelry.

Unfortunately, just buying a good camera probably isn’t going to be enough to make your photos stand out. You’ll also need good lighting and a light box for the photos to come out their best. You can buy professional lights and a light box or go the homemade route. I use a clear plastic storage box as the light box and set up adjustable plant lights on the sides and top all these materials can be found at Walmart or any discount store. To take the photos, set the box on it’s side with the open end facing you, set the jewelry inside the box and take the photo. The clear plastic will diffuse the lights to prevent glare and make your photos more clear.

Once you have taken your photos, you will need to upload them to your online selling venue. There are 3 ways to sell online having your own web page, selling in an online mall, and selling at an online auction. Having your own web page requires a bit more skill as you will need to write the code for the page yourself, hire someone to do it or buy a package that helps you do this. Selling in online malls and auctions is usually a bit easier as you can post your information on a form that is uploaded and you don’t need to know much about html coding. Personally, I have found that selling at an online mall is the best way to go the auctions are overcrowded with jewelry of all types and it is extremely difficult to get any qualified traffic to your own website without spending a fortune.

Along with your photos, you will need to provide an excellent description of your jewelry. I suggest you take 3 photos of the piece and then write a paragraph description on the piece listing the materials used the size and any outstanding features. Don’t be afraid to be creative in your description!

The final phase to selling jewelry online is collecting the money and shipping the product. You need to decide what form of payment you will accept. Will you take credit cards or only accept credit through Paypal? Personal checks, or only money orders? I love Paypal as it is so quick and easy but there are fees associated with it. Many of my customers pay with personal check and I have never had a problem in 6 years of doing business online.

Once you receive payment, you can ship out the jewelry! This is your opportunity to make a good impression and gain a repeat customer. To make shipping easier, it’s a good idea to setup a shipping station which includes a table to package and wrap on, all your packing material, tape, boxes and mailers, your return address stickers and any promotional items you like to put in the package.

I like to package my jewelry in gold foil boxes and ship those inside a bubble mailer. The boxes are only about 20 cents if you buy them in bulk and they look so nice to the customer when they open their package. Also, have some promotional cards, business cards, pens or discount certificates made up and include those with your URL so the customer can come back and buy more!

Dumb Money And Smart Money

Dumb Money And Smart Money

by: Tomas Loden

One of my goals online is to give you the total picture and tell you everything you need to succeed in your own Internet Marketing Business.

This internet marketing กstuffก has been a God send for me and it can be for Anyone of you who will apply yourself and be very, very serious with it, not get rich overnite but I am talking about coming in to this กnet marketing worldก with the same attitude that I came in with. I am here folks for the loooong term.

I am going to share some of my thoughts and opinions of what I see going on in the Internet marketing community. So consider this a hearttoheart talk from someone who has been there before you…

Now lets put the cards on the table…

So, you want to be one of the BIG marketers,

You want to be on of the Top 1% Affiliates raking in all the money. You want to be the next Big Net Marketing Guru ..

Hey thatกs GREAT, but what are you doing about it?

If you want to create your own successful Internet Business, you have 2 choices… You can A) take the long road or you can B) take the smart road.

A) You can take the long road:You can continue to search on the Internet for กfreeก information¨, buying different กhowto, go their, do thisก ebooks, spending countless hours translating their jargon or joining one of those ก30k in 30 daysก schemes, Why bother? It will take you weeks or even monthกs of testing just to achieve the anger of knowing you have been taken advange of by someone selling a load of กget rich quick hypeก.

B) You can take the smart road: Interact With Real Internet Marketing Professionals Who Are Actually Making Huge Profits Online. Interact With Real Internet Marketing Companies. I made many mistakes. I joined programs like theก30k in 30daysก and other scam programs only to find out later it was a bunch of garbage. Not that Iกm proud about this … Bad Products..No money back guarantee..No affiliate support,,

However, I soon discovered that the real money is made by Real Internet Marketing Professionals Using Real Internet Marketing Companies Using Proven methods to sell their products To avoid กcheaterก programs, you need to do your homework and stay informed..

A) You can take the long road: FOLLOWING THE DUMB MONEY The major mistake I see other Internet entrepreneurs making is following the กdumb money.ก The กdumb moneyก is in the small, individual marketers who would like to make money online but tend to lose their money most of the time. Spending their hard earned cash on different ideas or schemes to find out what works and what doesnt..

B) You can take the smart road:FOLLOWING THE SMART MONEY The idea is to follow your ‘the smatrt moneyก and do what they are doing… To find out, just, purchase their products, services and subscribe to their newsletters Some people like to sugarcoat things, but that is not my style…nor is it what you need. Forget the hype and focus on the reality of making money online. If someone is getting different results than you, then they are doing something differently.

For example, do you see all the Big กgurusก posting to FFA sites, safelists or allowing others to place ads in their inhouse optin list/ezine? Of course not! And wouldn’t you think that with the time, and experience, they have, they would have already tested those marketing mediums and have decided not to use them because they don’t work? So, if someone got dozen orders per day and you didn’t, they did something differently than you did.And do you know what the biggest difference usually is, persistance and approach. Persistence is the key.

A) You can take the long road: Sell anything to anybody, at anytime without ever owning it, you have one chance to earn peoples trust, therefore it’s very important that you represent products and services that you honestly believe in.

B) You can take the smart road: Represent products and services that you honestly believe in. The Best Way To Assure Your Success Is To Learn As Much As You Can About Your Business, Program or Product. The better you know the product or service, the more enthusiastic you will be about recommending it and youกll have a better chance that people will want to buy. Successful affiliates buy the product so that they can write a genuine, honest review of it. The best products to promote are those that you personally use and have found to be of benefit to you. But even beyond that, the best products are those that pay you a residual income, month after month.

The only stuff I recommend is stuff that I own. I have physically purchased it, or had in a couple of instances a courtesy copy sent to me for review, and only if and when Iกm satisfied that it will help me in my own business will I then recommend it to other people. You Can Not Promote That Which You Do Not Understand

A) You can take the long road: Not promoting enough. Promoting may not be as much fun, but itกs key to making the fun parts pay off. I have wasted a lot of time and money, thinking that people would automatically come to my web site, and buy my stuff… You should spend more of your time marketing than on any other task. In the course of running your business, itกs easy to get caught up in a million idiotic things..

The number 1 problem I see with the online Networkers I work with across the world every day is that they Stop prospecting! Why..? Because they run out of leads or if they do sponsor a few members in their first 23months those people quit or become inactive because theyกve run out of traffic. When they do run out of visitors, they get discouraged and quit their business!

B) You can take the smart road: 99% of all networkers need more visitors and additional Training…..

Why?

Because very few have taken the time or even HAVE the time to LEARN WHAT REALLY WORKS! I mean, what works NOW. Whatกs also important to understand and to pass onto your members, is that any internet business starts out relatively slow. But over time, it has a tendency to กExplode in Your Faceก and next thing you know you’re making checks the size of Bill Gates 😉

Without the right tools, your Internet marketing experience will be exactly like playing the childกs game with a blindfold on pin the tail on the donkey. To build a network that will stand the test of time and produce significant income, you must spend every possible moment working on How to get LEADS! that is all there is to it.. That is all there has ever been to it.

That is common sense and it is undeniable, and yet I have never met a networker, who fully understands the point. The three most important features for any website are traffic, traffic, targeted traffic.

A) You can take the long road: No Internet Marketing Plan, If you don’t plan to succeed, then life itself is planning for your failure.

B) You can take the smart road: Make your business plan simple. Concentrate on building a list. Find affiliate programs and joint venture partners to supply products and income. Regardless of what marketing method you choose, youกll need a basic marketing system and you will need to be Very consistent with it.

Marketing is never a กoneshotก deal. It always takes a steady effort, time and patience. There is no one perfect system for marketing, but thatกs OK. With a good system and a steady effort you will do just fine. If you already have a good system, and it can be easily duplicated to your downline, stick with it. If not, find a proven system that are currently working well and that can be duplicated by everyone in your group. Itกs just a numbers game pure statistics.

Thatกs all. There is no magic formula. If you stay at it steadily, you WILL succeed.. So, whatกs the end statement out of all of this…

Internet marketing is the EASIEST business in the world if you work it HARD! But itกs the HARDEST business in the world f you work it EASY!ก…
