ขCD/DVD Masterข is the disc you provide to your CD/DVD vendor for replication or duplication of that media. Here are some helpful tips for creating a high quality master:

Always use high quality media. All media is not the same. Do your research and choose a brand that will produce a high quality disc consistently.

Avoid burning from a network source. If your source files are on a network drive, copy the files to your local hard drive before burning a disc. If you cannot move the files to your local drive, please use the ขCopy To Hard Drive Firstข feature. Your burning software will create a temporary image file during the burning process. When the burn is complete, the temporary file is deleted.

Avoid burning on a laptop computer running on battery power. Fluctuations in available power may yield poor results.

Always ขFinalizeข your disc. If you use the drag and drop interface that is built into some operating systems (Windows XP), be sure to select ขfinalize discข. This will increase the ขreadข compatibility in other CDROM drives.

Don’t use packetwriting method to burn master disc. This method is most common with burner drives that have ขrewriteข capabilities. It is similar to the ขdraganddropข method described above. This burn method produces discs that cannot be read on many CDROM drives. We cannot accept a master that is burned to a ReWritable (CD/+RW or DVD+RW) disc.

Avoid impact or movement of the drive during burn. This can cause the laser to skip or jump a track, which will produce errors or a bad disc.

Use ขburnproofข feature if available. This feature allows the drive to slow down the burn speed in the event the computer cannot supply data fast enough. This can increase the total burn time, but the quality of the disc will be greater.

Avoid having multiple applications open when burning, especially those that access the internet or network. This can hinder your computer’s ability to ขfeedข data to the burner drive at the proper rate. Poor quality discs and burn rejects could be the result.

As time went by, I got better at not letting myself jump at the next กbigก or กgreat productก, I learned to focus and I slowly started to keep the plastic hidden. It became difficult for me to use my credit card online, unless it was for my education towards my vision.

So, why the change?

First, I believe the change came when I bought one affiliate marketing manual that really hit the spot, no, not one, actually two, but one was the catalyst. It was very easy to understand and read, stipulating exactly how to build website that makes affiliate programs earn cash for you.

My vision of how you can make money online changed.

I finally started to realize that every website I build online has the potential of earning me $500 monthly.

In short, when your just starting out online, you have to learn how to build your own websites. You will need a website builder you can master n a week, you can’t spend months online learning HTML, so, it will have to be WYSIWYG (WYSIWYG, stands for What You See Is What You Get). In other words, acts like your word processor where you just paste the text needed.

3) Discover Where to Get the Cheapest Hosting

Today, anyone online can open a reseller hosting account and start there own web hosting company for just $ 25 to $50 monthly.

But, the question is: Are they ‘techieก enough where trouble shooting is concerned?

You have to host you site with a company that has been around at least 5 years, because they are established and know the insanouts of what it takes to be an online web host, and have a very friendly customer service.

4) You Must Use some Kind Of Ad Tracking Software.

Ad tracking is the one thing you must master online if you want to build successful websites online. You will have to make small changes to your site and just check to see if your site performs better or worse. If you feel your headline isn’t pulling, just change the headline and monitor what happens.

The nice part about online businesses is, that you can make change instantly and have results the same day. No need to wait months for results, like the offline world. Your changes can be tracked and that makes it easy to constantly improve your websites.

5) Find Something That Excite You And Put Away The Plastic.

Once, you find your niche online, ditch the credit card. Take your time and study what is needed for you to be successful online, sign up for a couple forums and get active asking questions.

Your online presence will start to make you a professional in your field. Study your manual, going over it more than once, read between the lines and set your vision on the end results you want to accomplish. Just set sail, and keep focus.

After the completion of the planning process, catalog production starts. These are the steps when producing a catalog:

First is the gathering of data. Before any design to exist you must first gather a complete list of all the products you will include in the catalog, as well as all nonproduct copy. If some items will be grouped together as one catalog photo block such as a shirt that comes in 4 sizes and 6 colors, check to ensure that it is clear for the designer. Sort further the list into categories or spreads.

Second, write the product copy. Although most every company can pull a list of products, item numbers and prices from their computer system, virtually no company maintains proper product name and descriptive copy. Product names used in inventory software typically have names like กIVY TSHIRT RED MEDIUM.ก In your catalog that same product would instead be called กIvy Tshirtก, available in red and size medium.

Keep in mind that the descriptive copy for general customer catalogs should range from 30 to 60 words. Business and technical catalogs should be as brief as achievable while getting across the information a corporate buyer needs to make an informed purchasing decision.

The third step is to plan and design the overall look and feel of the catalog. In the planning questions you may have determined the catalog dimensions, catalog objective and catalog audience. With that information you can design the master layout for the catalog. All page design will originate from this master layout. In the master layout, you can design all common page elements, grids, design themes, and type specifications for all type of occurrences. To examine the design specs, you can mock up a couple of pages.

Fourth, design the spreads and cover. After the overall look and feel of the catalog has been designed, product list and copy created, you can now sketch out each spread to identify the items on the spread and their approximate layout. You can also indicate any product photography that needs special shots such as with a background or model, and sketch approximately how we envision the photographกs layout.

The fifth step is product photography. This step involves the acquisition of all the picture and graphic files. The next thing to do is to process the images in Photoshop. There you can adjust the levels, add a clipping path and convert the image to CMYK.

Finally, you can now layout the catalog. This is the most thrilling part of designing a catalog. Here you can put all the elements together on the page to come up with a functional and attention grabbing catalog.

You simply create a new file on your domain server, name it (ie:กgreatproduct.htmlก), copy and paste the script code. Then enter the affiliate url address (where specified) that you want to forward to.

Now when someone clicks on the new subdomain you created (ie: www.mysite.com/greatproduct.html), their browser will redirect to the affiliate site but appears to the prospect that it is your site.

Now hereกs a really cool technique as seen in example #3.

Get your own domain! Itกs the most professional strategy and will gain instant credibility and trust which can increase your rate of clickthroughs. Ok, hereกs the cool part and you don’t even need your own website to pull this off.

Go to godaddy.com and search for the availability of your desired domain. Register the name, but be sure to choose the ‘redirectก and the กmaskก option. Cost? About $9 for one year. In about 48 hours, your domain will be live and kicking.

In example #3, if you chose www.thegreatestproduct.com and someone types that address in their browser, it not only redirects to the site you chose, but will show up in the prospects browser window instead of the siteกs real URL www.greatproduct.com/98765/aff?=dude

Use this powerful technique to add credibility and professionalism to subdomains and affiliate urls or any url where you want to increase your conversion rates.

Tip: Use your domain solely for tracking reponse rates to specific advertising campaigns such as pay per click, etc.

How To Manage Your Username And Password The Easy And Secure Way

Have been an Internet user for more than 9 years, I have 100กs of logins and passwords to keep. Iกm paranoid. Iกm now even more paranoid after I joined YMMSS because I use online payment systems on weekly basis if not daily.

I used to use Microsoft Excel to manage my usernames, passwords, and other registration information, both online and offline. Excel is not safe because there are programs to crack password protected Excel workbooks and I even cracked the spreadsheet and VBA source code password for one of my old Excel financial models I developed. Today I still use Excel to store some personal information but I only save the Excel file on my another PC that is not connected to Internet.

In my article ก6 Essential Steps to Protect Your Computer On the Internetก, I highly recommended the award winning RoboForm. Free version of RoboForm (http://www.roboform.com) does come with limitations such as 10 Passcards only. If you don’t want to buy the Pro version (costs $29.99 as of my writing), there is an easytouse freeware (see below) you can download right now and manage unlimited usernames and passwords.

Download freeware Password Safe from SourceForge.net the Open Source community.

Here are some great features of Password Safe:

No installation is required. Simply download and double click the pwsafe.exe file.

Easy portable. Just copy and paste the EXE file and .dat database file to any disks. Be aware that when you open Password Safe in the other disk, you need to specify the database file location (the .dat file).

One master password unlocks an entire password database that can contain all your other passwords.

Grouping. Usernames and passwords can be grouped into different categories you define, eg. Email Address, Payment, etc. You are in total control.

Strong, random password generation.

Copy username and password to clipboard so that you don’t have to type them. Always keep in mind that you should never type any username and password.

Browse to URL. With one click, the URL related to your username and password can be opened in your default web browser. Another save on typing.

You can create more than one password database (but you have to memorize more than one master password. Not recommended.)

Here are some tips of using Password Safe (version 2.04) and managing password in general.

Tip #1 Always create a strong master password (Safe Combination as used in the software).

Strong password should meet the following criteria:

At least 8 characters long to prevent cracking. The longer the better.

The password should contain lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and any other characters that are available on keyboard.

Ideally you should not use any meaningful words or numbers in the password. Totally random password is the best.

Tip #2 Let PasswordSafe generate random password for you.

To generate random password:

Click the menu item Edit.

Select Add Entry (or use corresponding icon button).

When the dialogue window opens, on the right hand side, you can see a Random Password Generate button. Click it, a random password will be automatically inserted in the Password field.

The generated random password is constructed according to the password policy defined in Password Safe. You can modify the default policy.

Click the menu item Manage.

In the dropdown menu, click Options.

Click the Password Policy tab.

Change the policy based on the strong password criteria stated above.

Some sites only allow alphanumeric passwords so make sure you select the appropriate check boxes when this is the case.

Tip #3 Very Important: Never type your master password when open PasswordSafe.

Keylogger spyware can record keystrokes.

How can you enter master password without typing? I do this.

Step 1: Open a Notepad file (.txt).

Step 2: Copy and paste an article from any Internet website to this .txt file.

Step 3: Select characters from this article and copy, paste to form your master password.

Tip #4 Very Important: Never lose your master password.

I memorize my master password. In addition, I also physically write it down to a hand written study material that has my previous uni works. Among the 1,000กs of words, I placed my 22 characters master password in two different pages in encrypted format that can let me derive my master password.

Tip #5 Categorize username and password.

When you add a new entry, you need to specify Group, Title, Username, Password, and Notes. The entries that share the same Group name will be gathered together automatically.

One Group can contain another Group as its sub Group. For example, I have Email Address group which contains three subgroups as Friend, Work, Family.

Tip #6 For security reasons, always use Copy Username to Clipboard and Copy Password to Clipboard.

Remember, never type username and password on a web form. This is how to do it.

Highlight an entry.

Right click mouse.

In the popup menu, select Copy Username to Clipboard or Copy Password to Clipboard

Go to your login form, paste the username or password.

You can use mouse to do copy and paste. If you prefer shortcut keys, this is how.

Copy: Ctrl+C Paste: Ctrl+V

Tip #7 Use กBrowse to URLก rather than typing URL in browser address bar.

When you enter a new entry or edit an existing one, you can enter a URL (must start with http://) in the Notes field. You can save website login pageกs URL in this field. When you need to open a login page in browser, right click the entry and click Browse to URL in the popup menu. Then the login page will be opened in your default web browser automatically.

Tip #8 Don’t forget to backup your password database file.

Use the Make Backup menu item to save a second copy of your password file.

Tip #9 Store your backups in a different offline computer or location.

This is a widely used backup strategy.

If you don’t have two computers, you need to use other storage media to save a second copy of your backup file and version them by date (easy to track back). Other storage media can be zip drive, thumb drive, floppy disk, CD, etc.

Off site backups are also important. Don’t overlook this. You lose all your data if you lose both your computer and your other storage media all together for any reason.

Many companies provide online storage services for a fee. You can store any digital files (you should password protect these files first) on their secure servers. Search Google and you will find a lot.

I have two computers. One is used to surf net and it does not have any sensitive info stored on it. Another one is for my development work (not connected to Internet) and it has my backup files. I also store my backups in a thumb drive and CDs sometimes.
