Can You Write Naturally and Get Good SE Ranking?

Can You Write Naturally and Get Good SE Ranking?

by: Francisco Aloy

The most effective way to write for your website is to keep the subject matter of your web page under tight focus. Notice I didn’t say website; thatกs because the search engines don’t spider websites, they spider web pages.

The search engines will look to see how well the related page title, keywords and body text apply to the subject matter. This means that if you are talking about widgets, your title, keywords and body copy should be tightly focused only on widgets. Stray from your main subject only when secondary ideas have very high relevancy and keep it short, sweet and get right back to your main subject matter.

To begin with, pick out your web page title and then a set of keywords that relate to your subject. After this, start to write the body copy in a style you’re comfortable with and do your first draft.

While working on your first draft, use this guideline:

Use a rough outline to get your point across. Have a start, a middle and an ending. Make your points in the very middle of the body copy, as Iกm doing right here.

Don’t limit yourself to a mechanical formula for creating a keyword density because it will get in the way of your natural style.

Do your best to write in a free flowing manner as if you are talking to a good friend. Stay away from words or expressions that would make anybody reach for the dictionary.

If you can get your style to loosenup, have some fun as you write for readers and visitors. Do your best to have the real you come through in your chosen writing style. This is something that will come on its own the more you do it.

For the second draft, do this:

Go over your writing and eliminate any fluff and revise it to make your meaning come through better. It could be there is an idea that needs expanding or perhaps you need to restructure a paragraph. Maybe there is another word that could provide a better description of an idea or term.

Finally, your third draft should include this:

Look at all the elements of your near finished piece and see how logical and smooth the transition is from opening, middle and closing paragraphs. Do they all seem to fit together well? Are you fully informing your readers on the subject without leaving out crucial information?

If you are satisfied with your results, itกs time to go live! Upload the web page to your server and take a look at it; use this little web based utility Iกve found very helpful, the Submit Express Meta Tags Analyzer: http://www.submitexpress.com/analyzer/

The above utility will give you lots of information about your web page. Once you enter your URL look at the results and compare the relevancy numbers. Use the single keyword and double or triple keyword phrase to adjust your final results. Most of the time, you don’t have to adjust your writing, only your particular choice and order of keywords.

Adjust your keyword choice and do your best to get good to excellent relevancy and keyword fit. Notice that this is the last step in the process since you want to preserve as much of your natural style as you can. If you do your best to stay focused on the subject matter of your web page, you shouldn’t have to do many changes.

Internet Buzzwords and Newbies: Proceed With Cauti

Internet Buzzwords and Newbies: Proceed With Caution!

by: Francisco Aloy

Learning the ropes of Internet Marketing is one of the hardest things to do; even more so if you are a Newbie to computers and the Web.

I remember watching the movie ‘the Flim Flam Manก and heard the quote กYou Can’t Con an Honest Man.ก

The above quote, taken in the context of the movie, did make perfect sense. The movie dialog implied that the selfish desire to gain an unethical edge was the hook the experienced con man used to snare his victims or กpigeons.ก In the end, the victims fell for the con because they had a disregard for the Golden Rule!

Iกm bringing this up because the thinking implied by the quote doesn’t fit many of the offers the Internet Newbie will encounter while searching for a business guide.

You can be a good, honest and hard working person and still fall for many of the traps awaiting you in cyberspace! The most appealing target for the experienced Web con man, is the Newbieกs lack of experience and knowledge!

All over the Net there are offers constantly bombarding Newbies with the latest systems and applications; กnewก methods that will grow a business with a minimum effort!

Some of them are given fancy names: ‘the K15 System Will Make You Wealthy!ก or, กYou Have a Ground Floor Opportunity with GZAP, get in now because it won’t be available tomorrow….ก

The above offers should be investigated from heat to toe! Many of them are simply more of the same rehashed information aimed at Internet business Newbies.

One of the main reasons Internet Marketers continue coming up with so many new programs, applications and systems is known as กInternet Time.ก Internet products have a very short shelf life; what was the latest thing a year ago will now be old news!

That isn’t to say there aren’t good systems and technology. However, due diligence is a requirement to ascertain the value of any offer presented.

Take your time and look at the offer to examine it with a fine tooth comb! You should check out any buzzword filled business offer with extra caution!

Ask all the questions you need answered until you’re sure you understand what you’re getting into. If there are no straight answers to be had, perhaps you should reconsider.

Colors for Your Website

Colors for Your Website

by: Francisco Aloy

Oh Yes ..Colors! There are hot ones, cool ones, earthy colors, spiritual colors and every other shade in the rainbow! What colors should you use for your website?

Though color combinations that would work for many decorating ideas are pleasing to the eye, it doesn’t mean they will work on the web.

The reason is that the combinations you use have to serve a twofold purpose: They should impart a general theme to your website and, more importantly, make it easy for your visitors to see and read.

The very high contrast between white and black, having opposite locations on the chromatic scale, is good for standard paper books but not for the Web! A good choice of colors as a tool in the distribution of information, is something that should be given serious consideration.

The printed mediaกs classical scheme of black lettering over a white background doesn’t work well for Web content. Certain colors produced by the glowing phosphor of PC monitors are very intense and tend to assault the eyes with their potency, such as when you look at snow in bright sunshine.

The above reason is why many folks will print an eBook to study it: They can’t take the กwhite assaultก from most monitors.

Application programmers and savvy web designers are discovering this harmful quality of monitors and are compensating by making the backgrounds of their websites an off white/gray.

You can try this for yourself: read a page with an absolute white background and then the same page with a very light gray or pastel background. See the difference?

The general look and color combination of your website should be pleasing and related to the interests of your visitors however, the areas devoted to text should not strain their eyes. As an example, I was at a hardware forum and somebody had written a couple of bright fluorescent orange lines on a medium gray background; it was about all I could take! Just looking at the 2 lines of text to read them was painful.

Another example of a bad choice for body copy is a dark font over a dark background because it overtaxes the eyes to make out the text. The same reason absolute white is harmful applies to white lettering over a black background.

White without a small amount of compensating color is very stressful on the eyes. If you ever spend any time at a website that causes such irritation, youกll lose focus and get tired on account of the strain of reading.

All the elements of your website decoration should conspire to make the visit a pleasant one for your customers. Designing and building a successful website should take into consideration all the design elements to keep from physically irritating your visitors.
