Writing Powerful Effective Solo Ads

Writing Powerful Effective Solo Ads

by: Steven Boaze

Everybody wants to make more money… In fact, most people would like to hit upon something that makes them fabulously rich! And seemingly, one of the easiest roads to the fulfillment of these dreams of wealth is writing effective solo ads and using them correctly

The only thing is, hardly anyone gives much real thought to the basic ingredient of selling by email the writing of profitable solo ads. If your online business is to succeed, then you must acquire the expertise of writing solo ads that sell your product or services!

So what makes a solo ad good or bad? First of all, it must appeal to the reader, and as such, it must say exactly what you want it to say. Secondly, it has to say what it says in the least possible number of words in order to keep your operating costs within your budget. And thirdly, it has to produce the desired results whether inquiries or sales.

Grabbing the readerกs attention is your first objective. You must assume the reader is กscanningก the page on which your ad appears in the company of two or three hundred solo ads. Therefore, there has to be something about your ad that causes them to stop scanning and look at yours! So, the first two or three words of your ad are of the utmost importance and deserve your careful consideration. Most surveys show that words or phrases that quickly involve the reader, tend to be the best attentiongrabbers. Such words as: FREE… WIN… MAKE BIG MONEY…

Whatever words you use as attentiongrabbers, to start your ads, you should bear in mind that theyกll be competing with similar attentiongrabbers of the other ads on the same page. Therefore, in addition to your lead words, your ad must quickly go on to promise or state further benefits to the reader.

In the language of professional copywriters, youกve grabbed the attention of your prospect, and interested them with something that even they can do.

The next rule of good solo ad copywriting has to do with the arousal of the readerกs desire to get in on your offer. In a great many instances, this rule is bypassed, and it appears, this is the real reason that an ad doesn’t pull according to the expectations of the advertiser.

Think about it youกve got your readerกs attention; youกve told them itกs easy and simple; and you’re about to ask them to do something. Unless you take the time to further กwant your offer,ก your ad is going to only half turn them on. theyกll compare your ad with the others that have grabbed their attention and finally decide upon the one that interests them the most.

What Iกm saying is that here is the place for you to insert that magic word กguaranteedก or some other such word or phrase. So now, weกve got an ad that reads: MAKE BIG MONEY! Easy & Simple. Guaranteed!

Now the reader is turned on, and in their mind, can’t lose. You’re ready to ask for their money. This is the กdemand for actionก part of your ad. This is the part where you want to use such words as:

Limited offer Act now! Write today! Only and/or just… Putting it all together, then your ad might read something like this: MAKE BIG MONEY! Easy & Simple. Guaranteed! Limited offer. Send $l to:

These are the ingredients of any good solo ad Attention Interest Desire Action… Without these four ingredients skillfully integrated into your ad, chances are your ad will just กlie thereก and not do anything but cost you money. What i have just shown you is a basic solo ad. Although such an ad could be placed in any leading publication and would pull a good response, itกs known as a กblind adก and would pull inquiries and responses from a whole spectrum of people reading the publication in which it appeared. In other words, from as many ‘timewastersก as from bona fide buyers.

To give you an example of the kind of solo ad you might want to use, say to sell a report such as this one… Using all the rules of basic advertising copywriting, and stating exactly what our product is, our ad reads thusly:

MONEYMAKERกS SECRETS! How To Write winning solo ads. Simple & easy to learn should double or triple your responses. Rush $1 to BC Sales, 10 Main Anytown, va 75001.

The point i am making is that:

Youกve got to grab the readerกs attention…

Youกve got to กinterest themก with something that appeals to them…

Youกve got to กfurther stimulateก him with something (catchphrase) that makes them กdesireก the product or service…

Demand that he act immediately…

Thereกs no point in being tricky or clever. Just adhere to the basics and your profits will increase accordingly. One of the best ways of learning to write good solo ads is to study the other solo ads out there try to figure out exactly what they’re attempting to sell and then practice rewriting them according to the rules Iกve just given you. Whenever you sit down to write a solo ad, always write it all out write down everything you want to say and then go back over it, crossing out words, and refining your phraseology.

Generally speaking, readers respond more often to solo ads that include a name than to those showing just initials or an address only. However, because advertising costs are based upon the number of words, or the amount of space your solo ad uses, the use of some names in solo ads could become quite expensive. If i were to ask our ad respondents to write to or send their money to The Research Writers & Publishers Association, or to Book Business Mart, or even to Money Makerกs Opportunity Digest, my advertising costs would be prohibitive. Thus we shorten our name Researchers or MoneyMakers. The point here is to think relative to the placement costs of your solo ad, and to shorten excessively long names.

The important thing is to know the rules of profitable solo ad writing, and to follow them. Hold your costs in line. once your solo ad is written, now is the time to use it wisely know the basics…grab their attention… the rest is up to you.

How to Use Solo Ads to Make a Small Fortune

How to Use Solo Ads to Make a Small Fortune

by: Anik Singal

Newsletter advertising has been getting a bad rap lately. Around every corner you can find someone complaining about how it doesn’t work. But when you ask them if they’ve tried it, most say no. The others who have, had NO idea what they were doing.
Today we’re going to talk about exactly what kind of solo ads sell and what factors are important.
Let’s start by going through the process of publishing a solo ad.

Choose a newsletter/ezine to publish in.
Write the solo ad
Write an effective title
Design the website where your visitors will go…

1. Choose a newsletter/ezine
Extremely important. You must do your best to choose the most targeted group possible. You must choose a ขgoodsizedข list. Also, the group must be responsive.
The best searching technique is to go to the websites in your niche market that are popular and find the links that say ขadvertisingข or ขadvertise with us.ข It’s normally quite selfexplanatory from there…
I personally recommend going for no newsletter with less than 5,000 members – unless they are extremely targeted and very responsive.
To determine how responsive a group is – ALWAYS ask or look for testimonials from others who have advertised before. If the publisher is unwilling to provide these – don’t waste your time promoting there.
2. Write the Solo Ad
One word – story. That’s the BEST way to sell someone something – tell them a story. Most people are so skeptical now every time they receive an email that the only real way to warm up to them is to tell them a story.
Start talking about how you went from a ขnothingข to having this great success. Or, how you went from not knowing anything about ขsuch and suchข to now becoming an expert.
The next tip is to give them a ขfeelingข of what they are about to learn – *start* to teach them about the topic and then say ขO…to learn the rest, click here.ข
I’ve learned that the best solo ad never sells a thing, it only presells and warms up to the reader. I guess this is where the theory of ขPreSellข prevails.
3. Write an Effective Title
Quite possibly the MOST important part of your entire campaign. Don’t underestimate the readers of the ezine. They *know* when the regular issue comes and when the solo ads come. They’re already skeptical. If you want to catch their eye, you better have a title that really appeals to them.
Here are some good title tips:

Use Numbers ex/ How to Get 2000+ Targeted Visitors A Day instead of ขHow to Get Trafficข
Be Specific – Your title should reveal EXACTLY what you talk about…
Keep It Short – The shorter the title, the more it will be read…
Avoid SPAM words – Don’t use ขFREEข ขMONEYข – These words are turnoffs now…

If you can write an effective title, you’ve one half the battle already!
4. Design the website where your visitors go…
The BIGGEST mistake (in my opinion) is to simply send the traffic to your main site. I recommend you setup a SEPARATE website for THAT particular ezine. Make that visitor feel as if he/she is VIP for coming in from that newsletter.
Greet them with a ขHey! Glad you could make it from ขINSERT NAME HEREข to our site!
This makes your site more personal and the visitor feels more comfortable reading your message.
A quick tip for your website:
Always talk about the success YOU had with the program you are selling – tell a story and reveal how well YOU did with it. You will see a HUGE increase in sales.
Once again, people want stories and they want storied about YOU.
If you apply these four factors the ขrightข way, you’re bound to do extremely well with Solo Ads. Personally, I make thousands a month selling my consulting service using Solo Ads – so, no one can tell me they don’t work.
Till we meet again, thumbs up to ezine advertising!

Ezines Are Effective In Advertising Your Online Bu

Ezines Are Effective In Advertising Your Online Business?

by: Alan Cheng

กEzines are the most cost effective way to advertise your business opportunityก. Iกm sure you’ve heard that phrase many times if you’ve been marketing on the internet for a while. But is that a myth or a fact?

An Internet Marketer once advertised that he can guarantee $1,000 profit for the user within weeks if he used the techniques outlined in his ebook.

And the secret of the ebook advertise in Ezines using $2,000 and you are guaranteed success unless your product is useless. Well I didn’t try it at the time because I couldn’t find $2,000 lying about in the house or in my bank account. However, it does show the belief people have with Ezines.

There are 3 types of ads in Ezines:

Classified Ads

These are small ads which you can find at the bottom of newsletters. There is limited space in these ads therefore your ads have to be eyecatching. Classified Ads in ezines are cheap and sometimes free due to its limited space and location which is at the end of the ezine.

Sponsor Ads

These ads are placed at the top of the newsletter and sometimes in the middle. Some ezines have more than one sponsor ads. Sponsor ads are more expensive than Classified ads and can contain more words so your ad can be more descriptive. Sponsor ads are more effective than Classified Ads as their position in the newsletter is better.

Solo Ads

Solo ads is the most effective way out of the three type of ads for generating response.

Solo ads fills up a whole email which only contains your advertisement. The newsletter is sent on your behalf to its subscribers. Thus your ad will have the biggest exposure. Solo ads are more expensive than Sponsor ads but more effective.

กGreat. Super. Fantastic. So whatกs your advice Alan?ก My advice is advertising in Ezines do work. And they work very well. Some people don’t think so because after placing some ads and seeing very little or no response they think they have proven that Ezine advertising is a lie used by Ezines Publishers.

Well I can tell you now that they are getting poor responses because they have not followed the rules for advertising successfully in Ezines.

Rules in Advertising in Ezines Successfully

1. If you can, save money and advertise using Solo ads. They have the best chances of being read by the subscribers and they have no other ads distracting or competing against.

2. Work on your subject line. Even with Solo Ads, people will not open your email if the subject is of no interest to them. Subjects which promises massive fortunes in a few days will get deleted with second thoughts.

3. Work on your Content. After the subscribers open your email, your next task is to try and get them to read the content. So make damn sure your content is interesting and enticing enough for them to take some action. Believe the saying ขContent is Kingข.

4. When you’re advertising other peoples’ products using affiliate programs do not send the visitors to the product’s website. I think people are crazy when they do this. The reason is that you are sending traffic to other peoples websites and if they won’t buy you’ve lost that lead for good.

Therefore the aim of you ad is to capture their email address so that you can advertise to them again and again. If they don’t buy product A then you can advertise Product B to them. Now don’t you think that makes more sense?

5. Advertise in well known Ezines and which are related to the topic you are advertising. Advertising stock recommendations to Golf enthusiasts will surely give you a terrible response rate.

6. For Classified ads, make sure you are advertising in large numbers such as 100,000. Not many people read Classified ads and you will be listed among other ads as well. However, you might get lucky if your headline is attractive enough.

To end this article I’m going to share a secret with you on what I think is the best and cheapest way to advertise in Ezines. That is to write your own articles and ask the Ezine Publishers if they are interested in sending out your articles in an issue of their newsletter.

Now let’s think about this for a moment. Your own article is published in ezines and placed on their websites. People who write articles are given more respect and are trusted more. Plus your articles will stay on some websites for years which also means that it will generate traffic for years. The traffic is generated with a resource box you can put at the bottom of your article. You can put your URL here and also write a little bit of background about yourself.

You are creating a name for yourself on the internet scene and you are also generating leads which you can email your recommendations to. There is no cost for you when Publishers decide to include your article so the only cost coming out of you is the time needed to write the article.

In my opinion, writing articles for ezines is the most effective way to advertise using ezines. Not to mention it’s cheap and will generate traffic even after many months.

6 Tips To Create Effective Solo Ad That Pulls Resu

6 Tips To Create Effective Solo Ad That Pulls Results

by: Arina Nikitina

How many times have you… heard that running solo ads in ezines is the most effective way to advertise? Every single marketer swears that solo ads can bring you big profits.

Well, Iกve been placing solo ads in various marketing ezines for 5 months now. And I have to agree: solo ads work… …if you know HOW to use them.

How to write effective solo ad Iกve learned the hard way. Iกve lost $527.00 in my first two months. Now, here is the good news: you don’t have to waste your time trying to figure out how to create a good solo ad. Iกve done it for you. 🙂

By following these six tips youกll be able to create solo ads that produce incredible results.

1. Choose the ezine you want to advertise in very carefully.

Don’t only consider ezine size. The truth is that smaller ezines produce better results than ezines with large subscriber base. I always prefer to run my solo ad in ezine with 8,000 subscribers than in ezine with 100,000. Not because itกs cheaper, but because small lists are usually more responsive.

Before buying the ad in any ezine read a couple of issues. Does it provide readers with quality content? Does it shows the personality of its editor? Would you subscribe to that ezine?

Advertising in poor quality ezines is a waste of money. No one is reading them anyway.

2. Get the readers attention with the headline.

It is very important to make sure that you can add your headline in a subject line of solo ad. If the subject line reads กOur Ezine Solo Adก most of subscribers won’t open it. You have to add your *attention grabbing* subject line.

Headlines like กCheck this outก or กHere is my new productก won’t work.

Get their attention! Spark the desire to learn more! Give them a *reason* to open your email.

Bob Leduc wrote a great article กHow To Create A Captivating Headlineก. You can find it here: http://onlineinternetmarketingstrategy.com/headline.html

3. Don’t sell anything in your ad.

Yep, youกve read it right. Do not sell anything in your ad. Your main goal there is not to create a sale, but to create a lead, create a prospect who will buy from you later.

Would you prefer to generate 35 sales or to get 300500 prospects ready to buy from you?

Offer free trial, free report, free ebook, free ecourse. Give away something valuable first. Create a prospect list. Establish relationships. And then *suggest* your product. Using this simple technique I achieved 1015% conversion rate with my ecourse.

4. Make your ad easy to read.

Readers usually scan the message. They are busy, they don’t have time to read your ad in complete details. It is your job to make it as easy for them as possible to scan it.

Use a short paragraphs. Use short sentences. Like this.

Use simple words. Don’t forget that subheadlines work great. As well as bullets. Often subheadlines and bullet list is all that people read.

5. Tell the benefits.

If you offer something for free that doesn’t mean that all the readers will jump into your offer automatically. You have to กsellก your free stuff too.

Tell me why should I bother and subscribe to your ecourse? Whatกs there for me? Will I improve my life? Business?

Write down the complete list of benefits. Then make every benefit as powerful as you can. Use a power words. Give details.

And then put all your benefits into a bullet list. You’re almost ready!

6. Create sense of urgency.

Make the readers act now. Tell them that tomorrow will be too late. Cause youกve got just 50 free copies. Or they will be available only till midnight.

Give them a reason to act now. Explain why there is no time to procrastinate. Create a fear of loosing, create a sense of limited availability. That always works great.

Now you know everything you need to create a killer solo ad that pulls amazing results. All you have to do is to put it into practice.
