Getting Started with HTML

Getting Started with HTML

by: Dean Walden

Copyright 2004 Dean Walden

The basic language of the internet is html. If you can do crossword puzzles, if you can write a report for your teacher or boss, you can be creating web pages in a matter of minutes.

Even if you’re not a writer or not a ‘techieก. Itกs sort of like your first date. Terrifying to think about, but not nearly as bad as you thought when itกs over.

The truth is that you can create your first webpage with just eight words enclosed in symbols.Thatกs right! The following words, with each enclosed in symbols, make a complete usable web page.

html

head

title

/title

/head

body

don’t enclose this one, itกs your content hi (:

/body

/html

If you copy whatกs between the dashed lines above, open notepad, paste it into a page, enclose each word in symbols and save it as anyname.htm, you can open your web browser and load it just like any other web page or double click on it and it should load automatically.

Now, that wasn’t as bad as you thought, was it? All you need now is to learn some more of those words enclosed in symbols and youกll be a pro.

Those words such as html, head, /head and /html (when enclosed in brackets like these ) are called tags, for instance and . The ones such as html and head are called start tags and the ones with this symbol / such as /html and /head are called end tags.

What you see in the web browser is what you put between the body and /body tags. You could type an entire report or letter without knowing any more than you do now.

If you learn just two more tags you can create links and use images in your web pages. Also, and nearly as important, you could be making changes in web pages that you may own already.

LINKS

The html below will put a link to Google on your web page when a symbol is placed after the second quote and the /a symbol .

a href=กhttp://www.google.comก google /a

To put the link on the web page you created above just copy the line between the dashed lines above and paste it between the body and /body tags and save it. Then load it or double click it as before.

The tag used for links is the a tag and itกs counterpart the /a tag. As you can see there is a little more to this tag. In the tag you add the webpage that the link will load into your browser.

IMAGES

If you want an image on your web page use the html tag below and place a at the end.

img src=กa:mypicture.jpgก

This is set up to put an image called mypicture.jpg (located on the floppy disc in drive a:) on a web page.

Again if you just copy this (replacing กmypicture.jpgก with the name of your image) and paste it between the body tags the picture will appear in the browser window. (by the way if you make changes to the web page then save the changes, you need to click the refresh button on the browser to see the changes in the browser window.)

Of course, there is also a lot more to html (It doesn’t get too complex until you start making tables). In fact complete books (many of them) have been written on the subject, but if you look at the html for most web pages you will find less than ten different tags, including the ones above.

Well, thatกs enough to get you started. If youกd like to learn more just send an email to [email protected]. I hope this has been helpful and encouraging.

Get more visitors to your website using free Traff

Get more visitors to your website using free Traffic Exchanges

by: Suzanne Morrison

Trying to get traffic to your new website or to your gateway pages for an affiliate program can be difficult if you are just starting out and have little or no advertising budget. This article will explain how you can use traffic exchanges to get a steady stream of visitors to your website, without having break your budget or spend hours on end clicking away to get credits.

In simple terms, a traffic exchange is a place that you can join and view other members web pages in exchange for having your own web page viewed. Every time you view another member’s web page for a period of time (e.g. 20 seconds) your balance of credits increases. Every time a member views your web page for the same period of time your credit balance decreases.

There are two main types of traffic exchanges – manual exchanges and auto exchanges. A manual exchange requires a real human being to view the web page and click on a link to proceed to the next web page, whereas an auto exchange can be left running in your web browser and will automatically refresh to a new web page.

Although both of these methods will bring hits to your website, the use of a manual exchange is far more likely to bring a visitor who will actually read what is on your web page. The auto exchange user who leaves their computer on all night, surfing web pages while they sleep is unlikely to buy your product! It is for this reason that I have not ventured down the path of using auto exchanges.

So how do you go about choosing which traffic exchange(s) to use? First let’s take a look at the most common features of a traffic exchange, so you can differentiate between the competition.

*Credit Surfing – all traffic exchanges allow you to earn credit in return for viewing other member’s web pages. Also look out for bonus credits. Many exchanges will give you bonus credits for signing up, for surfing a certain number of pages, or for winning competitions or sweepstakes.

*Minimum Time Limit – when surfing for credits, most traffic exchanges require you to view a site for a minimum amount of time before you earn a credit. This is normally somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds.

*Anti Cheat Mechanisms – to ensure that a real person is viewing your web site most traffic exchanges employ anti cheating mechanisms. This usually means that instead of clicking a ขNext Siteข button you have to click on a specific graphic such as a number, letter, picture or coloured icon from a selection of a few, to proceed to the next site. Repeated failure to do this correctly means suspension or termination of your account.

*Referring Others – this is the fastest way to build up your credits. Most traffic exchanges provide you with referral pages and banners. You can use these to recruit yourself a downline. When someone signs up from your promotional web page or banner they are placed in your downline. This can earn you an immediate bonus plus a percentage of your downline’s credits e.g. 1 credit for every 10 sites surfed.

*Paid/Pro Memberships – most traffic exchanges offer paid memberships as well as free memberships. Normally a paid membership earns you privileges such as an allocation of credits per month plus an increased number of credits for your own surfing and the surfing of your downline. Most exchanges also allow you to purchase extra credits. I don’t recommend going for a paid membership or buying credits until you have tried out the traffic exchange for free first.

A quick search on Google, using the keywords ขtraffic exchangeข will reveal almost 200,000 results, including hundreds of differently themed traffic exchange websites. Within minutes you can sign up for an account, submit your URL and start surfing for credits. Easy? Yes, but how do you know if this traffic exchange will give you results? How do you choose between the hundreds of different traffic exchanges?

I use a report from a company called Traffic Hoopla (http://www.traffichoopla.com/cgibin/p.cgi/6637/) to decide which traffic exchanges to sign up with. This report is updated weekly with the top 50 traffic exchanges and the top 10 new traffic exchanges. You can find out from this report who delivers the highest unique percentage of visitors and who will deliver traffic to your website in a timely manner. Armed with this information you can sign up for only the best traffic exchanges and get the biggest reward for your efforts.

Once you have signed up for some of the top traffic exchanges, you now need to earn some credits. There are three ways to do this:

(1)Personally surf for credits (2)Purchase Credits (3)Build a downline

In the beginning you may want to set aside a few hours each week to personally surf for some credits – in fact some traffic exchanges require you to surf a certain number of sites to activate your account.

However, the best way to be successful with traffic exchanges is to build your own downline. This way you can keep the credits flowing in by letting your downline do all the clicking for you. You can do this by using the referral web pages of each of the traffic exchanges that you have signed up with or you can sign up with Traffic Hoopla and advertise the 50 best traffic exchanges in one go. I chose the latter method and after signing up for the top 10 traffic exchanges I had over 60 people signed up under me in the various programs after the first week. I can’t quite put my feet up and stop surfing yet, but every week I can spend less time clicking on traffic exchanges and more time deciding how to use all my credits.

Why you Must Secure your Digital Product and ‘than

Why you Must Secure your Digital Product and ‘thank Youก Web Page

by: Bob Mobino

A couple of years back, I paid my dues the กhard wayก.

My web site was up and running, the sales letter had been กcraftedก with the most influential marketing techniques and the profits had been consistently comingin, until…

Until I noticed a considerable กdrop in ClickBank salesก for 2 months in a row. You can’t imagine how this extensive declination in sales, affected my mood and selfesteem.

I started critiquing my sales literature all over again and reevaluating every tidbit of my marketing strategy… everything seemed to be กworking flawlesslyก, but yet… กNot enough sales volume hey, this isn’t me (I contemplated)… I am one of those copywriters who consistently กlivebyก the 4%6% sales ratios!ก

Then one Sunday morning, I rushed to thoroughly check my web siteกs statistics, and to my blow…

My ClickBankกs ‘thank Youก page had been the 4th most visited section of my web site!

HollyGolly! Almost certainly, an ungracious customer had submitted my ‘thank Youก web page all over the web. My กdigital gizmoก had been downloaded over 460+ times, according to my web serverกs statistics. Needless to say that my กvoice of harassmentก starting กechoingก all over the block (something like กaaaarrrrggrgrghhhh!…ahhh..oh!ohhhhh!ก).

After the stalking bang of a sound psychological burst… after several breatheins / outs… I finally decided to กsecureก my digital product with a กhackproofก system. No กmore free lunchesก, I sarcastically squealed!

Hence, I installed a simple yet highly powerful CGI script (see http://closesale.com/automation.htm) and my ClickBank product had finally been กsecuredก. from freebie hunters, pranksters and hackers that กunconstructively impacted my bank accountก.

The กOnline marketing lessonก is undeniably straightforward; you *must secure* and automate your business by any means, before your digital product becomes one of the กWebกs Top 1000 Free Downloadsก; trust me, it doesn’t worth the jeopardy.

How Search Engines Work

How Search Engines Work

by: Matt Colyer

Before anyone can start optimizing a web site, you must understand how search engines work.
Search engine optimization is the hardest thing to do for a webmaster because there are so many rules to it and you have to stay up to date with all the new search engine optimization techniques.
Search engines send out what is know as a robot or some people call them spiders to index your web page. They find web pages by links, When a robot finds a link on a web page it will follow it to that page (you can join www.linkexchangeit.com to trade links with other members). Each search engine has itกs own robot and each robot acts different, then other robots. Some robots will index all of your web site in day and others will take weeks before they get all of your web pages. A spider is a computer software that moves from web page to web page by links gathering information.
After a robot has indexed your web page it is sent to a database which holds large amount of other web sites. After in the database your web page will be part of the search engine results. The way it indexes your web page and where it places it on its search engine results depends on a number of factors that are on your site.
Search engines will rank your web page based on the information robots receive from indexing. The better you have SEO your site, the higher the ranking.

How To Get Web Site Traffic

How To Get Web Site Traffic

by: F. Terrence Markle

Web site traffic is essential to having a thriving online business. You cannot have enough web site traffic (visitors) unless it is the wrong traffic or you do not want to continue to build your business. Your chances of selling a product or service is proportional to the level of targeted and qualified web site traffic to your site. It is not an easy task getting the right kind of web site traffic to your site. You do not get this web site traffic without expending your time, energy and sometimes hardearned money.

There are many different ways to generate traffic to your web site. The various web site traffic generating methods and strategies need to be researched, evaluated and implemented to determine which ones will result in increasing your web site traffic and hopefully the sales of your product or service.

Unfortunately, most web site traffic generators take time to produce a measurable result. The time required depends on the method and approach you take. It is easy to give up when the method or approach you take to generating targeted and qualified web site traffic to your site does not result in success.

Testing the different methods and approaches is essential to getting the illusive traffic to your web site. Whenever a method fails to deliver the results you want, try a different one. Keep trying different methods or approaches to generating web site traffic until you find the one that works for your web site.

Some of the more common methods of generating web site traffic include:

* Search Engine Optimization

It is no secret that search engines are the number one traffic generating method for driving visitors to web sites. Search engines are very useful in helping people find the relevant information they seek on the Internet. The major search engines develop and maintain their own gigantic database of web sites that can be searched by a user typing in a keyword or keyword phrase in the search box.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of studying the search engines in an effort to determine how to get your web site to rank high on user searches. Depending on the statistical information reviewed, search engines account for over 80% of the visitor traffic to web sites.

* PayPerClick

Payperclick (PPC) advertising is when an advertiser pays for each qualified click that sends a search engine user (visitor) to the advertiser’s web page. PPC requires the advertiser to bid on key words or key word phrases chosen by the advertiser. There are many PPC advertising services available to choose from. Google AdWords and Overture are probably the two most popular in use today.

The PPC search engine allows you to buy a top position in the search engine results for the particular keyword or phrase you choose. The PPC search engines can deliver targeted and qualified visitors to your web page at an economical advertising cost if you manage the program carefully with a clear objective. PPC provides the advertiser with assurance that their ad is being delivered to the targeted audience.

* Link Popularity

Link popularity is simply the total number of web pages that link to your web page. Link popularity is an extremely important factor that is used by most of the major search engines to rank web pages and web sites. In general, the major search engines consider link popularity a key factor in their algorithms to determine the relevancy of your web page to a particular keyword search query.

Good link popularity is important because it can increase the visitor traffic to your web page. The reputation of your web site (i.e., votes of confidence from other web sites) is a measure of the site’s link popularity. Your web page rank (i.e., the position your web page occupies in a search engine’s results page) to a particular search query can be improved by increasing the number of relevant and quality web sites that have incoming links to your web page.

* Other

The other strategies and methods that can increase the traffic to your web site include: directory listings, writing articles, newsletters, email advertising, classified advertising and banner advertising. These methods should be considered along with the previous ones.

Which of the above methods are best for you? Thatกs a loaded question and the answer resides in what you are willing to pay, in terms of time, energy and/or money, to get the right kind of traffic. You need to test, test and then test some more.

A Beginners Guide to Web Page Design

A Beginners Guide to Web Page Design

by: Michael Turner

Designing your own successful web page can seem difficult and nearly impossible if you do not do a little research first. The reason you need to know the basics of web page design is because the design of your website will actually influence whether or not people continue to visit your site and ultimately, whether they will buy from you or not. Obviously, a lot is riding on your website design so it is worthwhile to take this seriously and put some effort into doing it right the first time.

Design #1 Color

Any important aspect of your design process should include the use of color. Color affects people psychologically and different colors have positive and negative attributes or feelings they can evoke and men and women respond to different colors more positively than others. So, figure out your target audience, what you are selling, and what colors will best help you persuade your target audience to stay on your web page and to buy from you.

Design #2 Organization

A design flaw many beginners run into is organization. Your website must be well organized, and not just to you, but to the average person who has never visited your site before. It should be obvious where the information is and how visitors can get to it without wading through a lot of other links and information they are not interested in. Check out some larger, more successful sites to see how they deal with organization and just follow their lead.

Design #3 Too Much Text

Be careful about writing too much text and loading it to your website. Different types of writing is more appropriate for the Internet and in general bullet points, bold words, short paragraphs, and the like help break up a lot of text and make it easier to read. If you have a huge block of text on your web page, it is unlikely people will actually put forth the effort to sit down and read it. Make it easy for people to get the information.

Design #4 Too Many Graphics

Too many graphics is another design mistake by beginners. Graphics can be very useful, however if you use too many graphics you cut out the text you can use which is how search engines find your website and rank you in search results. Don’t handicap yourself with the search engines by using too many graphics.

Design #5 Focus

Beginners often times do not have a clear focus of their website before they start designing it and it appears unorganized, unfocused, and the point of the web page is a bit vague. Come up with a plan and outline the major points and focus of your website design before you start.

Building Your First Web Site?

Building Your First Web Site?

by: Tim Querrey

Creating your own site can be a satisfying experience. Here are some tips to help get you up and running.

Before doing anything on the technical side, you need some kind of basic idea to work with. I suggest first getting some paper and a pencil. Start by sketching a layout of how you would like your web page to appear. For example, a simple title at the top, the area in which you would like any content, pictures and so on. Now its time to do some programing!

Don’t let the word programing scare you. Anyone can learn and there are several sites that offer free tutorials. One such site is http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp. Although it is not necessary to be a top notch programer to build and operate your web site, you should learn the basics of html. I recommend that you thoroughly learn about tables. They are widely used and with them, you can create a professional looking layout (even as a beginner).

You can use any basic text editor, like notepad, to write, edit, and save your code (html). When saving your work for the first time, choose Text Document for type of file, then save with the extension htm (for example index.htm). Your home page (the first page people usually see) is normally saved as index.htm. To see how your page looks, double click on the file and it should automatically open up in your browser.

Now that youกve got your web page ready to go, itกs time to find a host (a place for your web page to live). Since this is your first site, I suggest you use Free Web Hosting. Some host will put advertising, such as a banner, on your site as the cost of free hosting. Others will only charge you to register your Domain Name (www.YourSite.com). Be careful not to accidentally sign up for extras such as url protection, spam control, etc. (unless you feel you need them) as they will add to your cost. These sites will have a limit on bandwidth (how much data that can be transmitted per month), email accounts, and maybe a few other things, but are still great for first timers. If later on you feel you need more, then you usually can upgrade. To find a host, just use any search engine and the keyword phrase Free Web Hosting.

Ok! Youกve sketched a layout for your web page, learned some basic html, coded your web page, found your host with the most (couldn’t resist), and registered your URL (www.YourSite.com). Now itกs time to upload (transfer) your file (web page ) to your host. To do this you need a FTP program. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. When using this application, there are usually two windows. The left window shows your computer files, and the right window shows the files stored on your host. For a good tutorial and to download a freeware FTP program, FTP Commander, go to http://www.nexcess.net/hosting/support/tutorials/ftp/ftpcommindex.php.

Now you should be up and running. But don’t stop there. Continue to tweak, add pages, learn to link to other pages and sites, and frequently add new content. Who knows, you could eventually learn to profit from your creation.

Google Sitemaps 7 Benefits You Can’t Ignore

Google Sitemaps 7 Benefits You Can’t Ignore

by: Tony Simpson

Google Sitemaps enables Webmasters to Directly Alert Google to Changes and Additions on a Website and thatกs just one of 7 Benefits.

Telling search engines about new pages or new websites use to be what the submission process was all about. But major search engines stopped using that process a long time ago.

Google has for a long time depended on external links from pages they already know about in order to find new websites.

For webmasters and website owners Google Sitemaps is the most important development since RSS or Blog and Ping, to hit the Internet.

Using RSS and Blog and Ping enabled webmasters to alert the search engines to new additions to their web pages even though that was not the primary purpose of these systems.

If youกve ever waited weeks or months to get your web pages found and indexed youกll know how excited we webmasters get when someone discovers a new way to get your web pages found quicker.

Well that new way has just arrived in Google Sitemaps and itกs a whole lot simpler than setting up an RSS feed or Blog and Ping. If you haven’t heard of Blog and Ping itกs a means by which itกs possible to alert the search engines to crawl your new website content within a matter of hours.

If you’re a webmaster or website owner Google Sitemaps is something you can’t afford to ignore, even if you’re also using RSS and/or Blog and Ping

The reason you should start using Google Sitemaps is that itกs designed solely to alert and direct Google Search Engine crawlers to your web pages. RSS and Blog and Ping are indirect methods to alert search engines, but itกs not there primary purpose.

It works now, but like most things itกs becoming abused. Search Engines will find ways to combat the abuse as theyกve done with every other form of abuse thatกs gone before.

Abusing the search engines is a short term not a long term strategy and in some cases certain forms of abuse will get you banned from a search engines index.

You may also be thinking, don’t we already have web page meta tags that tell a search engine when to revisit a page. Thatกs true, but the search engine spider still has to find the new page first, before it can read the meta tag. Besides that meta tags are out of favour with many search engines especially Google, because of abuse.

If talk of search engine spiders leaves you confused, they’re nothing more than software programs that electronically scour the Internet visiting web sites looking for changes and new pages.

How often the search engine spider alias robot, visits your website depends on how often your site content is updated, or you alert them to a change. Otherwise for a search engine like Google they may only visit a website once a month.

As the internet gets bigger every second of every day, the problem for search engines and webmasters is becoming evidently greater. For the search engines itกs taking their search spiders longer to crawl the web for new sites or updates to existing ones.

For the webmaster itกs taking longer and becoming more difficult to get web pages found and indexed by the search engines

If you can’t get web pages found and indexed by search engines, your pages will never be found in a search and youกll get no visitors from search engines to those pages.

The answer to this problem at least for Google is Google Sitemaps

Whilst still only in a beta phase while Google refines the process, itกs fully expected that this system, or one very similar, is here to stay.

Google Sitemaps is clearly a winwin situation

Google wins because it reduces the huge waste of their resources to crawl web sites that have not changed. Webmasters win because they alert Google through Google Sitemaps what changes or new content has been added to a website and direct Googleกs crawlers to the exact pages.

Google Sitemaps has the potential to speed up the process of discovery and addition of pages to Googleกs index for any webmaster that uses Google Sitemaps.

Conventional sitemaps have been used by webmasters for quite some time to allow the easier crawling of their websites by the search engine spiders. This type of sitemap is a directory of all pages on the website that the webmaster wants the search engines or visitors to find.

Without sitemaps a webmaster runs the risk of webpageกs being difficult to find by the search engine crawlers, or never being found at all.

Do I need Google Sitemaps if I already have sitemaps on my websites ?

Google Sitemaps are different to conventional sitemaps because they’re only seen by the Search Engine Spiders and not human visitors. Google Sitemaps also contain information thatกs only of value to the search engine in a format they understand.

Creating Google Sitemaps in 5 steps

1. Create Google Sitemaps in a supported format ( see end of article )

2. Upload Google Sitemaps to your Web Hosting space

3. Register for a free Google Account if you don’t already have one

4. Login to your Google Sitemaps Account and submit the location of your sitemaps

5. Update your Sitemaps when your site changes and Resubmit it to Google

>From your Google Sitemaps account you can also see when your sitemap was last updated and when Google downloaded it for processing. It will also tell you if there were any problems found with your sitemaps.

Google Sitemaps can be used with commercial or noncommercial websites, those with a single webpage, through to sites with millions of constantly updated pages. However a single Google Sitemaps file is limited to 50,000 web pages. For websites with more pages, another Google Sitemaps file must be created for each block of 50,000 pages.

If you want Google to crawl more of your pages and alert them when content on your site changes, you should be using Google Sitemaps. The other added benefit is itกs free.

If you’re expecting this special alert process with Google Sitemaps to improve your Page Rank, change the way Google ranks your web pages, or in any way guarantee inclusion of your web pages, Google has made it clear it will make no difference.

Google Sitemaps web pages are still subject to the same rules as non Google Sitemaps pages.

If your site has dynamic content or pages that aren’t easily discovered by following links, Google Sitemaps will allow spiders to know what URLs are available and how often page content changes.

Google has said that Google Sitemaps is not a replacement for the normal crawling of web pages and websites as that will continue in the conventional way. Google Sitemaps does however allow the search engine to do a better job of crawling your site.

The Google Sitemap Protocol is an XML file containing a list of the URLs on a site. It also tells the search engine when each page was last updated, how often each page changes and how important each page is in relation to other web pages in the site.

Google Sitemaps 7 Benefits You Can’t Ignore

1. Alert Google to Changes and Additions to your Website Anytime You Want

2. Your Website is crawled more Efficiently and Effectively

3. Web Pages are Categorized and Prioritized exactly How You Want

4. Speed up the process of New Website and New Web Page Discovery

5. No Waiting and Guessing to see when Spiders crawl your web pages

6. Google Sitemaps is likely to set the standard for Webpage Submission and Update Notification which will extend the benefits to other Search Engines

7. The Google Sitemaps service is Free

Exactly how to create a Google Sitemaps file to upload to your website is in the continuing part of this article in Google Sitemaps.

You Don’t Know Which One…

You Don’t Know Which One…

by: Taban Khadjeh Nassiri

I still remember it very clear … It was almost a decade ago that I wrote it in my notebook as an interesting quotation from a famous man at that time and even now and ever. Mikhail Gorbachev, Soviet president, shared this socalled joke with some reporters: "Mitterand has 100 lovers. One has AIDS, but he doesn’t know which one. Bush has 100 bodyguards. One is a terrorist, but he doesn’t know which one. Gorbachev has 100 economic advisers. One is smart, but he doesn’t know which one!" After all these years, After I found it and read it again, noticed how interesting it can be when we expand and continue it with the notion of web and marketting via web sites and/or emails. Yes, according to your log files, you have 100 visitors for your web site. One is a buyer, but you don’t know which one! You just have to wait and see … In your site, you have 100 web pages with 100 images. One page is missing one single image and you don’t know which one. You miss 100 visitors only because of this little mistake and WOW! On the Internet, you receive 100 "I Love You" email messages a day, one has a killing virus, but you don’t know which one! You have 100 links in your directory. One is expired and/or outofdate, but you don’t know which one and this may reduce the number of your hits and your visitors. You have a mailing list with 100 subscribers. One is now reading your editorial and you don’t know which one, because you don’t receive any feedback. This may make you sad or disappointed! But who cares! You have 100 web sites. One will be a successful one and will make a rich man out of you, but you don’t know which one.

Keywords are the Key

Niche marketing is focusing your business efforts to a target market, or a niche within the market. However, this can prove difficult if you are not aware of the most productive ways to market your products. If you are going to put forth the time, effort and resources to market you might as well make it worth your while and market as productively as possible. Of course, everyone wants to do this and few people are actually aware of how to make their part of the niche stand out above the rest. Fortunately, there are quite a few tips that will help you with your niche marketing and getting your web page to stand out above the rest.

The answer to this question is keywords. In order to properly market your product, you need to know the keywords that relate to your niche and what keywords people are using when they are searching for your product and service. This is really not difficult or expensive to find out; however it will make a huge difference in how you market and who you reach. First, brainstorm all the possible keywords and combinations of keywords that pertain to your niche while using a thesaurus. If you have the finances, use a software program that will generate the keywords for you as well as search for what keywords and keyword phrases are most popular an have been most recently searched for regarding your niche. This information is like gold when you are trying to market and the software program certainly takes the majority of effort out of your hands.

Now that you know what people are searching for, you know what you should include on your page to get your page returned as a high result by the search engines. Also, search the keywords yourself in a variety of search engines and see where your page is ranked as well as what the pages ranked above you are doing that you are not. This information will be a key to guide you to overcoming and out marketing your competitors. You want your web page to be returned number one if possible in the search engines for a variety of keywords, and this is only possible if you have the keywords in your web page and are diligent about keeping them there as well as watching out for your competition. Remember, competition changes every day so you need to be aware of where your web page stands in the rankings weekly, if not more often.

Finally, make sure the popular keywords for your niche are included in your web site by keyword articles and the like. This is because when people search for a keyword they are looking for valuable and useful information. If your web page not only has the key word, but also useful information, you will meet that customer’s needs and likely make a sale, which is what your business is all about.

How Can You Be Sure That Your Marketing Efforts Will Generate Profits?

There are several ways to ensure that your adverts are responsive let me outline my top ten response boosting techniques:

1. An attention grabbing headline is crucial. Yes, headlines are one of the most important elements within your web pages. The majority of professional copywriters have been known to spend as much time on headlines as they do on all other elements of an advert or web page combined. The purpose of a headline is to grab your targeted prospectกs attention and pull them into your advert or web page copy.

2. Get inside the mind of your target audience. Don’t write for everyone, write for a real person. When you are writing your advert address it to one specific individual who is representative of your target audience.

3. Get your prospect to think in the here and now, build some urgency into your copy. Where appropriate you can improve responses by making special limitedtime offers that encourage them to act right now. However, you should always impose a real deadline; you can really undermine your credibility with false deadlines.

4. Again, keep your prospect in the here and now and encourage your them to take action immediately. Yes, make it unmistakably clear exactly what they should do with language like กclick here right nowก.

5. It goes without saying that for maximum response you should constantly test and refine your copy to determine which alternatives are most successful. Once you have a proven กcontrolก advert or web page, you should continue testing in order to increase your responses even more.

6. Collect examples of successful copy. I have a folder on my computer where I save copies of adverts, headlines and even complete web pages. When I am writing a new advert or web page I skim through my file and it helps to get me thinking about writing my own copy.

7. Include testimonials in your copy, they can be very effective in overcome your prospects natural resistance. Always ask permission before using a testimonial and include as much concrete detail as possible to add weight to the testimonial

8. Informative, editorial style copy can be significantly more effective than copy that looks like an advertisement. Be creative and find ways of formatting your copy in a more editorial style.

9. KISS Keep It Short & Simple. Don’t use long paragraphs and sentences; break your copy into smaller paragraphs and sentences and include only one main thought per sentence. Don’t ramble and don’t try to pad out your copy with unnecessary words.

10. This may seem like a contradiction to number nine. Always describe your product or service completely. People are prepared to read long sales letters, as long as they find them relevant and interesting. But nobody will want to read boring copy!
