5 Simple Ways To Promote

5 Simple Ways To Promote

by: Larry Johnson

Learning to promote your business online is one of the most important steps in being successful.

Otherwise your site may as well be in some dark closet, because no one is going to stumble over it.

Here are 5 simple ways to promote your site and gain some needed traffic for your business.

AUTOMATE IT

As much as possible you should automate your promotion efforts. One of the easiest and quickest ways to do this is the use of autoresponders.

There are many paid ones available and they okay for the most part. Personally, I like to use a fr*ee one you can find here: http://www.freeautobot.com

It comes without any types of ads, and I have found it to be very dependable and useful.

SWAP ADS

There are always those online who are willing to swap ads, bannners or links in order to gain some additional fr*ee exposure.

Search for them in your email messages and in a variety of directories related to your type of business.

For example, here is one that is not fr*ee, but it is wellestablished as a great resource for locating reputable ezines in which to advertise:

http://www.directoryofezines.com/

JOINT VENTURES

Directories can also provide a wealth of contacts for potential Joint Ventures.

For a small percentage of your profits you can enlist the help of other sites and publishers to promote your offer.

One simple way is to use http://www.ClickBank.com which has a builtin affiliate program to help you with just this type of thing.

WRITE ARTICLES

Yes, it takes a little effort, but writing articles to promote your site does pay off.

Sharing a little bit of information in the form of articles with others has many rewards.

Hey, we are working in an information media type of are here, right ? Everyone is looking for the answer to some problem. Help them find it with a wellwritten article and get some deserved promotion when it is published in otherกs newsletters or ezines.

PUBLISH A NEWSLETTER

Online promotion is a slow learning curve for most folks, but it is one that has many rewards in terms of traffic and sales for your online business.

While this list is not inclusive, it does give you a starting point to begin your online efforts at building traffic and gaining some needed exposure.

Remember, กRunning a business without advertising is like winking in the dark. You know what you are doing, but no one else. does.ก

8 Tips to Increase Response in Email

8 Tips to Increase Response in Email

by: Paul J Easton

Opt in email marketing is no different than normal direct marketing in that small simple changes will increase your response and success. These tips will help with both plain text and html email:

1. Personalize กA persons name is still the sweetest soundก Having first name in both the subject of the email, and the body of the message will help your email get read and not just deleted or being mistaken for junk mail.

2. Free Offer something free: It’s an over used word on the Internet, but it still works, but it must 100% free not an item you have to pay postage and packaging for. If you do this your user who checks out your offer will feel cheated.

3. Tracking Always track any promotion, which means using tools that will allow you to track responses and conversion of visitors to sales. A good service to use is adminder:

http://www.adminder.com

Tracking also allows you to find out what information is most important to your readers

4. Talk When you write your email copy, write as if you are having a onetoone conversation with the recipient. This makes your customer feel like a real person and not a number.

5. Short but informative Provide the information in a short and clear method showing the main information using short paragraphs of 34 lines making it easy to read or skim over. Using bullet points and line space between paragraphs to highlight important points.

6. Benefits not featuresShow what the item or service can do for your customer, not what its features are.

7. Call to Action Use a sense of urgency with ease of contact with a

8. Easy to contact Use Clickable link such as http://site.com or mailto:[email protected]

This format will create a click on link in most email programs.

If you are marketing internationally you will need a format suitable for American On Line –The biggest US ISP. Something like this:

[ AOL Users Click Here ]

Always test and target to your market, response rates can be up to 20% with the right message. Trial and error will prove you right or wrong. The power of the promotion to an inhouse list is something very over looked. The list must have agreed to receive information (optin) from you or you just become junk email.

Relationships Are A Vital Part Of A Network Market

Relationships Are A Vital Part Of A Network Marketing Business

by: Kirk Bannerman

Heavily branded websites like amazon.com are household names and carry an implied trust with visitors. However, the vast majority of websites are not well known and are found and visited as a consequence of search results provided by search engines. In these instances, the visitor is probably arriving at the website for the first time and human nature often dictates fear or suspicion of the unknown.

If someone is shopping around for the best price for a particular item, say a Cuisinart food processor, they would probably go to a site such as Ask Jeeves (at ask.com using the Smart Search for Products feature) and quickly obtain a list of sources and prices for the desired item. The กyes/noก purchase decision has already been made and it is simply a question of who to buy it from.

In the case of network marketing, it is of critical importance to build a sense of trust with your team members. Network marketing is very definitely a relationship business and each relationship typically starts out with two complete strangers sitting at their respective keyboards.

The team building aspect of network marketing is of vital importance to the success of each individual member and to the team as a whole. Two key elements of team building are trust and confidence and these factors play a very large role, particularly for new team members.

As a team leader, you need to be knowledgeable about the business (products, services, or whatever) and straightforward with answers to questions about the business as well as providing timely and thorough support to your team members. These actions will cement the relationship and build trust and confidence among your team members.

Network marketing has many aspects, but promotion, persistence, and patience are three key elements which are critical to achieving successful results.

PROMOTION is the lifeblood of network marketing. Whether you are using online methods or offline methods, or a combination of both, you must constantly strive to get your offering in front of a targeted audience.

There are thousands of published sources that deal with specific methods of network marketing (both online and offline), but the key point to be made here is that you must have an active promotion campaign designed to bring in a steady stream of new prospective downline members.

PERSISTENCE is a key element in network marketing success. Youกve gotta กjust keep on keepinก onก, even though frustation levels can be quite high at times.

After you have been at it a while, and have a downline large enough to provide reasonably accurate statistics, you will probably find that about 95% of your downline members are dormant and do nothing at all. Its easy to get down in the dumps or take it personally when you encounter so many กdo nothingก people.

Therefore, it is really important work with and actively support the 5% or so that are serious about participating. And clearly, an active and effective promotion campaign will continue to bring in increasing numbers of potential participants so that while 5% is small on a percentage basis, it can still be a sizeable amount from a pure numbers standpoint.

PATIENCE is vital. You can expect that it will take about a year before the awsome power of geometric growth kicks in.

A classic illustration of geometric growth is the frequently used pennyaday example.

If you save one penny on the first day, and double it every successive day, (day two you have 2 pennies and day three you have 4 pennies, and so on) how much will you have at the end of 30 days? The answer, to the astonishment of many, is $5,368,708! Amazing, but true.

Its a sad statistic that most network marketers fail and it is often traceable to the fact that they did not exhibit enough persistence and patience to continue constantly promoting their business for the year or so that is required for success.

Network marketers that stick with it for a year or more often end up becoming the proverbial กheavy hittersก.

In closing, I would like to encourage you to increase your chances of becoming a successful network marketer by always keeping a clear focus on ‘the three Pกsก of Promotion, Persistence, and Patience.

Online MLM promotion the 4 wrong ways and 4 righ

Online MLM promotion the 4 wrong ways and 4 right ways of doing it

by: Johannis Seumahu

Contrary to popular belief (or what most MLM people would prefer to believe), online MLM promotion campaign is somehow different from an offline MLM promotion campaign. You can not simply try to apply the same successful offline MLM campaign online and hope that it will be as successful online.

There is basically one major difference between offline and online MLM promotion: oneonone approach versus oneonmany approach. In offline promotions, oneonone approach and follow up on each lead is a very crucial factor. If you can follow up on a prospective lead and succesfully educate him about you MLM program, you’ve got yourself a downline. If not, you’ll have to wipe the tears off your eyes and try your luck with the next prospective lead.

An ideal online promotion in the other hand, relies very little on oneonone follow up. With the power of the internet, it is possible to find people who are already interested in MLM, willing to spend money on promoting it and train them about your MLM program all automatically. This way it is possible for you to have many prospective leads at the same time, train them all at the same time automatically and therefore makes your chance of recruiting downlines significantly bigger.

To do a successful online MLM promotion, it is best to know first what to avoid in doing it. Here are the wrong ways most people are doing in promoting their online MLM program:

1. Promoting an online MLM in an offline media

By offline media, we mean regular magazines or newspapers you usually subscribe to or sold on bookstores. Some people may think that if they promote their MLM program in TIME magazine or Wall Street Journal, they will instantly get thousands of leads who will easily turn into downlines. Anyway, almost everybody read TIME magazine, right? True, but to tell you the truth, almost nobody who is reading a magazine or a newspaper will put down whatever it is they are reading, dash frantically to the computer and type the URL you promote to check it out.

Most people will think ‘this may be OK to try. I’ll browse the site when I get to my computerก then read on. When they finally get to their computer a few hours later, they most probably have totally forgotten about your ad.

2. Promoting an online MLM in an online classified ads site

There are two reasons why this is a bad move: First, because there are now literally thousands of classified ads sites on the internet. None of them is a major player in the field, which means you must try to post to all of them for maximum exposure. Second, because most of the sites don’t charge anything to put ads on their sites, a lot of other people are also promoting there.

To get a decent number of people viewing your ad, you must put your MLM promotion ad in at least several hundreds classified ads sites. There are softwares out there that can do this automatically, but if everybody’s using a specialized software to do this, then your ad will be competing against tens of thousand of other advertisers’ ads, and as soon as your ad appears it will be pushed downward by other ads from other advertisers. The chance of the right kind of lead seeing your ad in the right time and the right mood is very slim if you try this approach.

3. Promoting online MLM using free safelists

Unlike online classified ads sites, there are not as many free safelist sites out there. The companies who run safelist sites has actually spent the time to collect the names and email addresses of people interested in a specific topic (in our case MLM/online business) and these people are willing to receive offers related to their interest. When a paying advertiser put an ad, his ad will be sent to the email of all people in the safelist. Considering that all the people in the list are targeted, this concept is actually more powerful then two we discussed above.

Unfortunately, when you put your ads in these safelists using their free trial mode (most of them offer free trials), your ads will only go out to the other advertisers who are also using free trial mode. In other words, your ad will only go out to other persons who are posting ads themselves. These people don’t expext to read ads from other advertisers. That’s why most of them use disposable email addresses like yahoo, hotmail or the like. Your ad will stand almost zero possibility of being read, let alone acted upon.

4. What could make all those 3 mistakes even worse: using long and forgettable URL

This 4th mistake can only make the previous 3 mistakes even worse. If you are very lucky and an eager lead finally reads your MLM ad and decides to visit the URL you’re promoting (let’s say it’s something long and ugly like http://www.yourmlmcompany.com/cgibin/prospect1.cgi?sponsorid=1192349&message=1192). If he decides to sign up right there and then after reading the promotional material, you are to be congratulated as one of the luckiest MLM distributor in the history of the industry.

However, if he doesn’t sign up directly (which is very normal), he may want to revisit your site later after some deep contemplation. Unfortunately for you, he may not remember your long URL when he gets back from his contemplation. He may only remembers the www.yourmlmcompany.com part and type it in into his browser. This will bring up the same exact page he visited, but this time you won’t be his upline if he signs up. Sad, isn’t it?

After looking at the wrong ways to do an online MLM promotion, let’s take a look at the correct ways of doing it below:

1. Promoting an online MLM in an MLM/Internet business related ezine

An ezine is an electronic publication sent out by its publishers on a timely basis via email to its readers. Readers of MLM/Internet business ralated ezines are very interested in the topic, and they are a very responsive market to your MLM ads. Your ads will be put before/after or between articles, depending on how much money you are willing to pay.

Put your ads in one of the MLM/Internet business related ezines, and you are guaranteed many qualified leads who will be easy to convert into downlines if your MLM company has a good follow up system.

2. Promoting an online MLM with pay per click search engines

This is one of the most powerful online MLM promotion method known today. Many well known search engines such as Google now ‘rentก a portion of their search result page to be used by paid advertisers to put their ads on. For every กclickก to your site, you must pay a certain amount of money (starting from as little as 5 cents).

With this promotion method, your MLM promotional ad can show up on the search result page of Google if somebody types in MLM related queries in the search box. Imagine the power of it. A lead wanting to join an MLM program, typing in the word กMLM programก into Google, and reads your ad when the search results are displayed. Will he click to find out more? Most likely.

3. Promoting an online MLM with paid safelists

This method is much like the free safelists method discussed in the wrong ways of promoting in the first section of the article. The only difference is with the paid service, your online MLM ad will be sent to the actual eager readers who actually opted in to read your ads.

Paid safelist is almost as powerful concept as ezine advertising. The main difference is paid safelists’ readers will receive much more ads than ezine readers. This will normally dillute the effectiveness of ads in paid safelists compared to ads in ezines.

4. What could make all those 3 right methods even more successful: using short and memorable URL

Which URL is more likely to be remembered by first time visitors to your MLM site: www.yourmlmcompany.com/cgibin/prospect1.cgi?sponsorid=1192349&message=1192 or www.myownmlm.com?

It is possible to direct every prospect visiting www.myownmlm.com to www.yourmlmcompany.com/cgibin/prospect1.cgi?sponsorid=1192349&message=1192 without they ever knowing the difference. This way, your prospect can remember your URL much more easily, and whenever they visit your URL again, you’ll still be their upline of they sign up.

This very useful feature is now available from as cheap as $8 per year on the internet. Just search in the search engines for กcheap domain name with frame forwardingก (without the quotes) and you’ll find many options to choose from.

CONCLUSION:

Most of the wrong ways of doing online MLM promotion are free methods. Avoid this seemingly money free methods. They seem to be free at the first glance, but in the end they bring you very little result and consume very much of your time.

All of the right ways of doing online MLM promotion are paid methods. Most beginners in MLM try to avoid these methods, yet they bring in the most result with no wasted time on your part.

RP Promotion Strategy

RP Promotion Strategy

by: Pavel Lenshin

You must be asking what does RP mean? I won’t tear your curiosity apart until the end of the publication as hypnotic marketing teaches. It is Recurring Passive promotion and let me ask you, do you want to get outstanding promotion results, while sipping favorite Cocktail on the couch? You betcha!

Now let me put a little cloud of disappointment in the blue sky of your promotional pleasure. We will have to spend some time on creating our กsalesteamก first to make it work for us afterwards, so you will be able to do whatever you want knowing that your business/product is consistently being promoted for you.

I don’t speak about hiring marketing or advertising department to promote your online business, it would be expensive enough. Better leave that practice to those Dot.coms that report each year about Internet collapse.

What we will do is cheap, yet ten times more effective. It is a market dream come true, although for it is time consuming efforts at the beginning, 80% of small home based operators didn’t, don’t and won’t do it. That is another reason, why the effect of that กsalesteamก will be tremendous in comparison with other กeasy to achieveก marketing methods, like 5 bucks classified ezine ad.

The more selfdiscipline in กsalesteam creatingก process you put, the faster your desired result will be achieved. That rule is so obvious, yet not carried out by a lot of people, including me. One fellow marketer will have perfect กsalesmanก in a week, while for another one it will become a neverending tale.

Now Iกm literally feeling the second bursting question you want to ask me. What is the กsalesteamก? Do you really want to know the most guarded secret of all marketing gurus? The hidden truth of their million dollar profits? Ok, that is Viral Marketing! I know youกve heard that 100 and 1 time, but don’t blame me, the most guarded marketing secret of all times and nations is that there is No Marketing Secret :0)

Before going any further let me point to two main features that determine PR Promotion strategy, very close, but a little bit broader than the กclassicก viral marketing meaning. They are characterized by:

onetime action to create and set up;

nonstop ongoing promotion results.

If, for instance, you paid money for ezine solo ad and get 3 sales, in order to produce 30 sales you will have to order that solo ad for 10 times (in practice much more, because of marketing กdepletionก effect). This is everything, but astute promotion, which is based on onetime deed with never ending results.

In the above case, you should order solo ad to promote your free valuable, say, traffic report or sales letter with a compulsory URL to your website, positioning you as a traffic or sales letter expert. Your info product will thus rapidly spread over the net, generating you much more than 3 sales. It is hard to imagine what will happen if you offer 3050% commission for publishers to give your product away for free.

You have also probably heard hundred times about recurring passive income. The example above describes Recurring Passive Promotion that means that your company, product/service is going to be automatically promoted by a กsalesteamก, consisting of:

Info products: eBooks, Reports, Brochures, Email courses, Audio, Video files, Website template and so forth.

Auto or semiauto software applications and programs.

Partners, clients or subscribers.

In fact, RP Promotion is a foundation of RP Income that is the main desired target to any online marketer to achieve financial freedom. Below we will look a little bit closely on each promotional instrument. Note that they are perfect instruments or tools if you wish, but it is the craftsman who creates art, not the tools themselves.

Info products

Do you follow number #1 rule of all marketing gurus that is กMoney is in the listก? If you do, you can use your list, i.e. ezine, newsletter to easily compile an info product from the materials, mainly articles or tips that previously were written for your issues. That means that not only do you constantly profit from the list, but expanding your profits by promoting your list. In practice it will look like subscribe sign up box on one of the welcome pages of your free ebook, report etc.

As I have already shown in the example above, it may be any kind of beneficial for target market template with permission to use it for free, remaining your small URL at the end intact. It may be audio file coming with the electronic brochure. There are really unlimited variants of creating powerful and valuable, yet totally free RP กpromotersก or กsalesmenก.

Stage two is to make your กsalesteamก of info products work. That task may only be accomplished under the total absence of such artificial barrier as sellerกs money thirst. Don’t be tempted by quick earning potential. Your main task is to launch a word of mouth tornado that will bring much more longterm profits. So start giving away your report, ebook, everything you can to interested website visitors or subscribers. Avoid including numerous banners or affiliate links also, nothing can irritate more than such stuff, especially the feeling of understanding that the only reason I got that, say, report was to make me buy something. It is hard to give away for free what youกve spent several weeks to create, but it will repay ten times. Remember RP Promotion is a fundamental longterm development strategy, there is no place for กquick bucksก.

Your main focus should not be the Money, but sharing Valuable Information and providing Specific Solution, related to the sphere of your expertise. The more value you give away, the more people will read it, the more subscribers, clients and partners you will have.

Auto or semiauto software applications and programs

Efficient small info business is impossible to run without software programs. They are our กangelsก that help in our difficult everyday routine business life, but not only that. They are also capable of automatically promoting our business with no or very little effort for our part, so it is a crime not to include them into our กpromotion teamก review.

Once set up they could:

Submit/resubmit your website, pages to Search engines and directories;

Submit/resubmit your adverts to FFA and classified ads pages and boards;

Check SE rankings and adjust your pages accordingly;

Submit/resubmit your info products, including ezines and articles, to respective directories, announcement lists, groups, forums, boards etc;

Automatically send promotional emails to Safe Lists or subscribers;

Follow up with your prospects and customers, etc.

Take note that we are speaking about Recurring Passive Promotion methods only. Software programs can do 1 million things more, but we point to what tasks they can passively accomplish to start rolling your viral marketing ball. Software is also the only part of the กsalesteamก you should and have to spend your money on. Other promotion กstaffก will be totally free in terms of money.

Now let me explain why RP Promotion is slightly broader in its meaning than viral promotion. As you know, products announcement or Safelist emailing cannot be called to be viral methods as their produced effect are short term and lack exponential results growth, while the classic example of viral marketing strategy is an ebook giveaway.

RP Promotion goes further. Software announcements and submissions, taking into account, their completely nonstop automatic working กnatureก, still generate recurring and passive results. Once set up, we start getting shortterm, but permanent and neverending effect, until our software programs are working at the background, although, let me repeat, that such promotion is not considered as viral marketing.

Partners, clients or subscribers

Being the prime source of some product or service allows you to establish mutually beneficial business relations for you and your partners. That is the best of the best tactic you should pursue in the long haul.

Here is a tipoftheiceberg example. It is clear that two (approximately equal) promoters are better than one. That is why huge potential of a sole promoter, who gives away several ebooks, email courses with a number of working submission software, becomes a drop in the bucket in comparison with what kind of perspective that promoter could get if there are hundreds, if not thousands, of subpromoters working for him by giving away his free ebooks, courses etc. Even 30% or 50% commission paying will mean for the program owner one thing only his/her profits have grown on the remaining 50%70% of the retail price.

Iกve presented an example of RP Promotion, when you should order a solo ad to promote your free ebook, which, in its turn, will spread the word about your main product. Actually that was a bad tactic as well.

Astute RP Promotional strategy should comprise, ordering a solo or top sponsor ad that will promote your 1st valuable กsalesmanก like ebook or video file that in turn will popularize your beneficial partner/affiliate program, through which you will gain tremendous market exposure!

No, I was wrong. No need to spend money for manually ordering onetime ads. Write a salesman assistant! I mean article that will offer general public to download your free audio file! When your article is submitted to a lot of directories it will be published many times in different ezines, generating you temporal, but recurring, with each new publication, response. The more กassistantsก you will have the easier it will be for your salesman audio file to work. กHeก will be in demand, reassuring listeners in the undisputable benefits of your partner program. What is next stage? Those who don’t want to become partners, but like your product, would buy it that is onetime benefit if you stop corresponding with your clients. Those who become your partners will generate true streams of recurring passive income. Thatกs what I call Recurring Passive Promotion strategy.

Seven กMust Followก Rules While Participating In Message Boards

by: Radhika Venkata

Participating in message boards (forums) discussions is a great way of self promotion. It costs you nothing. Not even a penny. All you have to do is allot sometime for this type of promotion.

Before you getting started you need to know some must follow principles. You want your time to be profitable for you. Right? So what ever time you are gonna spend should bring you some profits.

What are those principles?

If you are willing to share your knowledge with those people, you will gain their confidence and needless to say few customers too.

***2. Always follow the forum rules:***

In some forums or some areas of forums self promotion is not allowed. At the same time, some subforums are alloted to post your product advertisement. So read carefully before posting your product details anywhere on the forum.

***3. Use signature files:***

Almost all the forums allow signature files. These may be less than 4 lines or less than some 250 characters. This varies from forum to forum. So be concise with your wording.

Most IMPORATNT advice is always offer something free in your signature file. Free report on how to increase sales, free email course on how to design a web site that pulls orders or any topic that focuses on your web site theme. This always beats keeping your product price in your signature file. You can built your optin list too.

In signature files DON’t hide URL with กClick hereก as link text. Let people accustom to your web site name or your product name. If you just use as กClick hereก instead of กSEO tips and tricksก, it looks dull and less interesting.

***4. Change the heading while answering a question:***

If somebody ask a question like กWhat are web site promotion methods?ก.

In reply you can change the heading to what ever you want instead of ‘re:What are web site promotion methods?ก

You can keep an interesting heading to make your post prominent from others. Like กFOUR best methods to start with…ก or กAdvertising with out spending a penny.ก etc. These type of headings certainly attracts peopleกs eyes.

***5. Give respect to others opinions:***

Don’t say harsh words even though you know what other person saying is wrong. Be polite. What you want to say tell it clearly and concisely.

If you don’t know a topic still you want to comment on that, add กin my opinion…, as far i know…ก etc. Point out to resources if you know any.

***6. Follow up the thread:***

If you start participating in a thread, then check the box that says กEmail Notificationก. When ever somebody replies your question, email will be sent to you. So you can post a reply or follow others answers and opinions.

What is the use of this? =You may end up with learning something from that discussion =It could be a topic for your next ezine article or ebook or a report =You can get to know of people of that thread

***7. Every day allot some time:***

Save the forum URLs in your favorites folder. Everyday try to visit them regularly. By this you can know the what is going on around you. You may know good resources and free information links that are useful to you. If you come across any information that is useful to you save them on your computer.

Do not post to FFAกs (Free For All Sites) & Link F

Do not post to FFAกs (Free For All Sites) & Link Farms

by: Martin Lemieux

With learning about online promotion, there is so much information out there about กwhat you should be doingก to promote you business. This tutorial will be to inform you about what you SHOULDN’t DO!

What are (FFAกs) Free For All Sites & Link Farms?

These types of sites can be recognized by their one purpose. To list 100กs, maybe 1000กs of กOne Line Adsก on all on one page.

What was the initial purpose?

A few years back when this form of promotion was very popular, everyone was posting their one line ads on these types of sites for more traffic to their site and a better กlink popularityก. It was soon realized that กFFAก sites don’t do either.

How can adding a small, one line ad accompanied by 100กs of others that isn’t related to each other benefit you???

THEY CAN’t!

The only people they benefit are spammers…

Hereกs why!

Once you submit your one line classified ad, you automatically give the owners of the FFA sites to send you messages. At the same time, there are 1000กs of marketers who are gathering your email to do the very same thing.

FFAกs are like being in heaven to spammers…

Honestly though, have you ever spent the time to visit a site from these lists?

Do you honestly want to ruin your email just from posting one time??? I guarantee you that your inbox will be full within a matter of weeks.

On another note, Google is actively searching these FFA sites and penalizing them. They offer no use to visitors. Please do your business a favor, never list and FFA sites on your site, you might be subject to being penalized as well from Google.

Once that happens, youกll be spending most of your time trying to recover from the loss.

If your initial intensions are to build a better กLink Popularityก, download our FREE ebook กLink Popularity Handbookก and learn what you should be doing…

Not All Links Are Created Equal

Not All Links Are Created Equal

by: Rob Francis

When it comes to any website promotion campaign, there are two main areas to focus on. The first area to focus on is your internal campaign, which deals with anything you can do to the pages of your website, such as content, meta tags, and titles. This is completely within your control even if you use a Web designer to do any changes for you, as you can dictate what is on your website. The other area to focus on is your external campaign, which largely deals with getting links from other sites – something that is mostly out of your control and is usually a lot more work.

Internal Campaign

Links, or hyperlinks to use their full name, are often misunderstood by people wanting to improve their search engine ranking. Links from your website going out to other sites will not boost your search engine ranking, although some relevant, ontopic links to prominent sites can help. Also, creating lots of links to your internal pages is not the same as links from other websites in the eyes of search engines. These two misunderstandings have caught out many a website owner.

The important thing to remember is that you do not want to have too many links on your pages. This does two things that can be deemed harmful to your goal of improving search engine ranking. Having a large list of links on a single page can cause search engines to suspect a link farm, Web ring, or other such unnatural linking structure and your site may be penalized for this. It would be safest to keep the number of links below 50 for any page. The second reason that you don’t want too many links is because they drain PR (PageRank). This basically means that the importance of the page, the PR, is divided by the number of outbound links. So you would be better of getting a link from a website page that has a PR of 6 and only 10 outbound links rather than a PR 6 website page with 200 outbound links.

External Campaign

The real value in links, as far as gaining better ranking in search engines comes from external links. External links are also known as backlinks, and they basically are just links to your website from someone elseกs website.

There are two types of external links – reciprocal and oneway. Reciprocal links are links from a website in exchange for a return link to that same website. Hence the term reciprocal. Reciprocal links were very popular a few years back but are not as valuable as oneway links. If another site is relevant to the theme of your site then a reciprocal link is still useful so don’t dismiss it entirely. What you really want is a oneway link to your website in order to boost your rankings. Gaining oneway links usually comes from supllying a brilliant resource or software. If your site is deemed to contain lots of excellent information that is freely available and original then many others will be happy to place oneway links to your site.

When someone creates a link to your site the text that is used for the link is very important. This is known as the link anchor text. If someone kindly offered to place a link to my website on their homepage, I would ask if they would use specific anchor text for the link. This makes the link much more relevant. My website is about website promotion in New Zealand, so I would want something similar to the following:

Website Promotion New Zealand

as opposed to:

Good NZ promotion site. Click Here

You can see that in the first example, the anchor text is relevant and would help me to rank well for terms such as กwebsite promotionก, กwebsite promotion New Zealandก, and กNew Zealand website promotionก. In the second example, I would be improving my ranking for the term กclick hereก.

Conclusion

There are lots of very technical requirements to getting the right linking strategies and nobody really knows for certain what the exact requirements are. This is because search engines do not disclose information about their ranking algorithms in great detail and also because these algorithms change with time. Different search engines have different requirements that they are looking for, which further complicates matters. Unless you are happy to get involved in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and spend absolutely ages on it, simply following my advice in this article will improve your search engine rankings and save you a lot of time and headaches.

Three Key Facets Of Successful Network Marketing

Three Key Facets Of Successful Network Marketing

by: Kirk Bannerman

Raise Your Income!

Raise Your Income!

by: Joy Gendusa

How often do you sit around and wonder how to make more money and get more people to buy more from your company? It’s one of the most basic problems every company faces.

The answer is astonishingly simple. Too simple maybe. But I’ve seen it work over and over again with our customers in every line of business you can imagine.

You have to promote. Your income is governed by the size of your customer base and how often and effectively you communicate with those customers.

So raising your income is simply a matter of keeping in touch with your existing customer base, reminding them you are there, offering them goods or services they might be interested in, in such a way that they want to buy more and more often from you. And increasing the size of your customer base by finding and contacting potential customers and persuading them to buy your products or services and then adding them to your customer base and keeping in touch with them in the same way.

If you have a good service or product and you make sure you service your customers well, you cannot fail to raise your income.

How rapidly you raise your income depends on how rapidly you do these actions, how much you promote. Handling the quantity or volume of promotion is definitely the most obvious thing you can do on an immediate basis. Believe it or not, if you send out crappy, crappy promotion, your income will go up. You may not be happy with the Return on your Investment (ROI) for that marketing effort, but definitely it will raise your income. Once quantity is handled and you are sending out loads of promotion, you want to tweak it and raise the quality of your promotion. And here are some things you can do.

Use Offers to Improve Your Response.

One of the barriers to buying which you work hard to overcome is กno hurry.ก Why buy it now when I can think about it for a few weeks, shop around a little and get back to you, maybe? Familiar with that กI’m interested. I’ll get back to you.ก Or the card you have designed and mailed out gets put in a drawer somewhere for possible follow up, maybe next year some time.

One way to deal with this is to reward those who buy now and penalize those who don’t. How? With some special offer and one that is attractive and one which has a time element attached to it. กOrder your new lawnmower now and we’ll give you a free edger. Offer good until the end of May.ก (Or whatever, you get the idea). Obviously the offer must be financially feasible for you so you’ll have to do some number crunching before you make the offer.

You can tie these special offers in to some particular event or season (like jewelry for Valentine’s Day or flowers or chocolates or just about anything for Christmas) but you don’t have to.

Special Offers help you maximize on your direct mail marketing and keep your customers ordering from you when you want them to. It’s just one more way to be in control of your promotion.

You can control how much and how fast your company grows.
