Goal Setting for your Home Business.

Goal Setting for your Home Business.

by: Ian Hugh Canaway

The ability to set goals and effectively motivate yourself to achieve them in home business are two essential skills that you cannot afford to overlook.

To try and start a business without goals could be compared to throwing a baseball pitch, blindfolded in the dark. What would be your chance of getting your pitch on target? Never mind getting a strikeout. Unless you are very lucky it is unlikely that you will have any success without properly setting out goals.

If when you start your home business, in what ever field it maybe, if you have no goals and aim at nothing, is it not unlikely that you will hit nothing and achieve nothing?

To set effective goals there are a few things you need to know about yourself which will affect how you set your goals. You are affected by, the environment in which you live, your experience and knowledge, your attitude and dreams and visions for the future.

When you set your goals you need to decide what you want and when you want to achieve each goal. You should spend time writing down your goals and display them in a prominent position where you will see them daily to remind yourself to stay motivated and focused. Cross off your goals once they’ve been achieved, adding new ones to ensure your business keeps growing.

ขDon’t set your Goals to low. If you don’t need much, you won’t become muchข. Jim Rohn

I’m sure you will have come across the SMART analogy, with regards to goal setting. It contains the most important concepts to consider and adhere to when setting your goals.

Goals should be; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time related.

For example it would be unwise to set a goal of making $10,000 in a week, it’s just not a realistic goal for the average person, unless you have a lot of experience and knowledge in your field or receive help from someone who has these attributes. When you failed to reach this goal your motivation would suffer and you might start doubting your decision to start your home business.

Ok let’s set some goals, firstly, though I want you to write a list of all the things you want; whether it is a new car, watch, house, sofa, to send your kids through college or a successful home business, write them all down and say why you want it. When I did this I had a list the length of my arm and I’m still working through it 3 years on. By doing this it will help focus your mind and motivate yourself to succeed.

Now set your goals, they need to be SMART and you need to set both short term and long term goals. One of the best techniques I use is to set 6 goals before I go to bed for the next day and prioritise them. All successful people set goals and prioritise them in order of importance. Remember your time is your most important asset; you simply cannot afford to waste it.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. Aristotle –

By making goal setting a habit there is no reason why you cannot achieve excellence.

The Magic of Writing Goals in your life!

The Magic of Writing Goals in your life!

by: Tal Fighel

Goal setting is an important technique used by athletes, successful businesspeople, lawyers, doctors, and great achievers in all fields. Goal setting is a very powerful technique that can yield strong returns in all areas of your life. Goal setting can help you grow in life. It can help you achieve more.

So what do you need to do first? You need to define a goal. You need to know exactly what you want, when you want it, and why you want it. What ever your dream is. That is your goal. If you don’t know exactly what your goal is, you will not commit to it. You will not have enough of a desire to achieve it. Successful businesspeople know exactly what they want to achieve in business and they make goals a top priority.

When you do write your goals down, you need to ask yourself one important question. Is this goal realistic? Is it attainable? Do you really believe that you can reach it? Faith is also an important ingredient that can make or break your goal. If you don’t believe that you can make your goal a reality, then you probably won’t. You need to have faith in yourself. You need to have faith in your goals. You need to have faith that you can reach any goal that you set.

This little girl had a dream to become the queen of England. She told everyone that she was going to achieve that goal. Do you think that she can achieve it since she has nothing to do with the royal family? Obviously not. It was a foolish goal. You need to make sure that your goal is realistic, and attainable. Now, if it is realistic then you need to put the proper date on it. The proper action that needs to be taken. You have to do everything in your power to make that goal come true.

So don’t put unrealistic dates on your goal. That is when you can get frustrated. If you are in MLM, you need to find someone who has reached what you are striving for and do exactly what he or she is doing.

You then need to determine what price, what’s the worthiness of that goal. What level of importance are you going to put on it? Is it a want? Is it a need? Is it, ขIt would be nice to have itข? You need to make that goal a burning desire. You need to make it a must. It is a ขHave to have it no matter whatข goal. If you do that then you’re your subconscious mind will look for ways to make that goal a reality. It will give you ideas on how you should go about to achieve it.

Now, shortterm goals are usually simpler and easier than longterm goals. Why? Well, writing them can help you have more frequent victories, and building momentum with each one you complete. If you do that, you can have more excitement and more motivation as you reach those goals on time. When you do reach you shortterm goals, don’t forget to reward yourself and celebrate. Buy new clothes that make you feel like a million bucks. Make a toast to yourself for reaching that goal. You should be feeling so good that you are telling yourself that you can reach ANY shortterm goal that you set.

A word of warning for the longterm goals that you make. It will be harder to achieve it because as the time goes by, you can get discouraged and lose your interest. Try to set shortterm goals. It will keep you more focused and motivated.

If you haven’t achieved your shortterm or longterm goal, you will need to look at your goal and change the date, and the action that you have taken when you didn’t reach that goal. Remember, if you take the SAME action that led you to failure then you will probably get the SAME results. You need to take a look from all angles to see what you did and what you can change.

The Extra Income Checks

The Extra Income Checks

by: Kenneth Echie

Do you have the characteristics to make EXTRA INCOME? It takes certain attributes to run a successful extra income program. You must ask yourself if you are cut out for it. No GURU can do it for you. You have to want it badly enough and then go out and get it.
Tens of thousands of people all across the globe come to the internet looking for a way to make extra income. It has become necessary to issue some reality checks.
The truth of the matter is that some people are better off getting a second job at the local convenience store to supplement their income than start an extra income program. It doesn’t do them any good to spend money and months on the internet trying to earn extra income only to fail. At the end of it, they would only be poorer for their efforts.
I don’t want you to waste your money on something you may not be suited for. You need to look within yourself and ask yourself if you can do it.
The reality is that the cost of living keeps going up while companies keep cutting back on raises. The need to do something extra and earn enough money to help pay the bills has never been greater. It doesn’t matter if you are a woman or man.
The computer and the internet have made it possible for people to match their skills, interests, abilities, and ingenuity into a home business they can use to earn extra income. This article is to show you that itกs simple and easy to join the ranks of successful extra income earners. But make no mistake about it, itกs not for everybody.
The history of business shows that the rewards and advantages of starting a business are many. The beauty is that you can start an extra income business in your garage, backyard, basement, attic, or a room in your home. But first, you must do some GUT CHECKS.
Your first step should be to study the attributes below and see if you have them. You should be frank and honest when you do.
1. CAN YOU SET GOAL?:
If you are to achieve any level of success, you must set goals. If you expect to be successful, you must determine what that means to you and the best way to achieve it. There are two basic steps you can take to convert goals into achievements:
a) You can decide on a specific dollar amount; and b) You can set a time frame for obtaining the dollar amount you want. Your goal should be specific and indicate What, When, and Where. After making a list of every possible way you may accomplish a goal, select the method for your situation.
2. QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:
a) กCan my family do without the money I need to start an extra income program?ก In the world of the internet, this amount is very small. In fact, there are programs, like the http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main1831 program, which come loaded with all you need to start for free.
All you have to do is advertise. Can your family do without the money you need to advertise? This question must be answered according to each individualกs circumstances. You may need to trim a few things from the family budget.
b) กWhat are my strengths?ก To determine your strengths you will have to take an inventory of yourself. Decide what you enjoy doing the most and what you feel you would be good at. Examine every possibility and include all the skills you have no matter how small they seem.
There is no harm in brushing up on the things you are lacking. Local community colleges have courses that help you do this at very small price. There are also a lot of free online resources you can read to gain more knowledge. All you have to do is go to a search engine like Google and do a search on your topic of interest.
c) กIs there a market for the product or program I have chosen?ก Be cautious before you invest any money. Check it out by making inquiries directly to the company, competitors, or firms who are marketing a product or program similar to the one you are interested in. Test it on a small scale and track your testing. Check it out thoroughly.
d) กHow long will it take this business to reach the financial goal I must have?ก You should know how much time you can dedicate to your business, and what your profits are for that time. From there, a simple math will tell you how long it might take to reach a particular financial goal.
3. HAVE COURAGE TO START:
You must have the courage to start. Don’t be caught in analysis paralysis. Some people spend too much time analyzing opportunity that they never start. Don’t fall into this trap. You MUST have the courage to start.
4. SELECT THE RIGHT PRODUCT OR PROGRAM:
Take a close look at your interests and abilities, and then decide what type of program or product you want to do. For example, do you want to do referral programs, or write ebooks to sell? The object is to find out what has the most appeal. If it does not appeal to you, you will not be motivated enough to see it through.
5. HAVE A GOOD MARKETING PLAN:
A good marketing plan is one part of a business plan that is absolutely essential to its success. In fact, the ability to properly market a program can be more important than the program itself. You want targeted marketing. You have to reach the right audience in your marketing efforts.
Go to discussion forums in your niche and see what others are doing. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Experience is the best teacher. With good program or product, you should be able to develop a winning strategy.
6. CONCLUSION:
Be a selfmotivator and continue moving forward towards the goals you want and deserve. Keep educating yourself in your area of interest. The best extra income earners never stop educating themselves because there is always something to learn.
If you have or develop the above attributes, your little extra income program or business could turn into your main income program or business. You will be smiling all the way to the bank with some nice checks and thanking yourself for having the GUTS needed to accomplish your goal.
Get Started! Do it NOW!:)

Going The Extra Mile

Going The Extra Mile

by: Ken Leonard Jr

There is one sure way to get what you want in life, but few people actually do it. Put this practice firmly into your day to day business activities and you will have an advantage over the rest of the crowd.

Successful people realize their life long dreams by doing things that most people are not willing to do. If you can just do what is needed instead of what you want to do, you can accomplish a lot.

People that get what they want in business don’t just give 100% each day. When the day is through and youกve done your best, it is now time to make the extra effort to accomplish one more small goal or to finish the dayกs original goal. กGoing the extra mileก does not require a massive effort on your part. If you put forth only 5% of your daily effort, a small goal is easily attained. Doing this only three days a week can produce impressive results by the end of the month.

Do you have a problem getting things done? Then don’t be satisfied with another day gone and your goal not met. Put forth that small extra effort on a regular basis and you will begin reaching your goals.

Going the extra mile is part of a small business success mindset. Itกs your business, you are ultimately responsible for the results. Setting deadlines for yourself and writing down your goals makes it easier to go the extra mile. You can see on paper the goal set for that day. Many times you will see that by the end of the day you are very close to meeting your goal. You can now go your extra mile because you know it is only going to take a small amount of extra effort.

Going the extra mile will enable you to reach more of your goals. This allows you to กraise the barก on your new goals, creating growth in your business. Growth does wonders for your attitude and makes the road to success more enjoyable.

Whatกs the bottom line on going the extra mile? More signups for your network marketing business. More sales for your infoproduct business. And youกll get what you want a lot faster when you are willing to do what others are not.

The PDQ™ Factor

The PDQ™ Factor

by: Cindy Morus

It’s the beginning of a brand new year: a time to set goals, make plans, and start afresh; a time to dream of making more money, having a more beautiful body, and experiencing more love. I can’t help you with your body or your love life but I can show you some tools for making more money this year.

Have you ever heard of the PDQ Factor ™? Probably not, but you probably have heard of the acronym PDQ, which means ขpretty darn quickข and that can be expensive: think fast food, fast cars, and fast women. This PDQ, The PDQ Factor™ will save you money. In fact, it can even make you wealthy over time.

To illustrate…take an empty glass and set it under the water faucet. Now turn the faucet to a single drip, or a slow trickle if you’re really impatient, and watch the glass fill up. It takes a while but it does get full. If you were thirsty, it wouldn’t have been nearly as fast as turning the faucet to full force but it was just as effective. The PDQ Factor ™ is the slow trickle equivalent in the world of money. It stands for Pennies, Dimes and Quarters. Nickels count too, they just messed up the snappy title so we left them out; but don’t you leave them out of your investment toolbox.

Here’s an easy plan to make an extra $1000 this year. It won’t take much time or energy—really none at all. By investing just $2.74 a day—the cost of a designer coffee drink; a bad drivethru meal; or 8 quarters, 5 dimes, 4 nickels, and 4 pennies, in just 365 days you will have an additional $1000 in the bank. Did you know that accumulating wealth is this effortless? Make a plan, stick to it and watch success sneak up on you in teentiny increments.

With no pain and all gain you’ve just set a financial goal; a goal that can be effortlessly reached by making a very minor tweak or two in how you live your daily life.

Break down your goal and see how many PDQกs it takes! And don’t forget to start today!

Check out the following websites to save even more pennies:

And recycle your cans and bottles to capture those nickels.

Happy and prosperous New Year!

Three Ways to Increase Mortgage Applications

Three Ways to Increase Mortgage Applications

by: Jay Conners

If you are in the mortgage business, the very first thing you need before you can get anywhere, is an application.

I spent years working in the mortgage industry, and my goal was to close one loan per week.

Monday through Friday I would find myself a spot in the back of the office where I could pound out my phone calls from 5:30pm until 8pm every night. My daily goal was to take at least three applications per evening, resulting in fifteen applications per week.

This is how I obtained my applications.

1. I was always prepared. Every thing that I could possibly need was at my desk. If a customer had a question about monthly payments, my mortgage calculator was right there. If a customer had a question about a particular loan program, I had my literature right there. When a customer commented on their needs and situation, my stationary was right there to take notes.

It is very important to have all of your resources at your finger tips, otherwise you will be fumbling around looking for things, or putting your customer on hold, while you find what it is you need.

2. Take the edge off

When you are speaking with a potential customer, the conversation doesn’t have to be 100% business all of the time. You can take the edge off by finding something in common with your customer. If you hear a dog barking or a baby crying, make a comment about it. People love to talk about their pets and baby’s. This will relax your customer, making it easier for you to get the appropriate information from them to complete your application.

3. Overcome objections

During the application process you will be hit with many objections. This is perfectly natural, most people don’t jump at the chance to fill out applications for mortgages and refi’s.

Here are some of the more common objections;

A) I have to speak with my spouse.

A good response to this would be; Is your spouse available to go over it with me right now? I would be more than happy to discuss it with him/her.

Another objection . . .

B) I have to think about it.

A good response to this would be;

Is there something that I didn’t explain clearly enough? Or, is there anything you would like me to go over with you again.

The above objections are probably the most common you will come across. If the responses I recommended don’t get your customer talking again, than politely thank them and ask their permission to send them some literature.

4. Purchasing Leads

I often found purchasing leads from a reliable lead source to be beneficial when it came to taking applications. The reason is obvious, these people are making it very clear that they want somebody to call them so they can apply for a mortgage, and most likely they are waiting by the phone. So its worth a shot.

These are only a few of the activities I practiced during my time as a loan officer, and it was rare that I didn’t meet my weekly goal of fifteen applications per week.

I’m sure if you practice these same activities you will experience the same success that I did! Good luck!

Part 1 of 5 How กPipe Dreamsก Can Become Realiti

Part 1 of 5 How กPipe Dreamsก Can Become Realities!

by: Jon Kogan

Take a look at yourself inside and out. Where do you live what job do you have, how do you relate to your friends and family? What interests do you pursue, what adventures do you have?
What do you truly want from life? Do you want wealth and success, happiness and peace of mind? Do you want a family and a yard, a yacht or a sports car? Where are you going? Do you have a particular goal or are you just wandering through life?
You can accomplish anything you want in life thatกs true. Once you have a particular goal, you can fulfill that desire by straightforward commitment and total conviction.
But what if you don’t know what you want? Maybe your goals are small ones like losing some weight, or buying a new car. Maybe getting a promotion of finding a mate. Whether you want a bigger apartment or want to be a corporation president, any avenue of prosperity and achievement is open to you if it is truly what you want.
No goal is too small; no dream is too big. And even if you aren’t clear on your desires, you can tap into your subconscious mind to get the answers and to find the paths to success.
Can you change your life do you want to? Can you picture yourself as your most perfect image of accomplishment? How does it feel? If you have the desire to attain goals, the commitment to follow through and the ability to creatively imagine yourself in the position you dream of, you are more than halfway there.
The most successful leaders and artists throughout history have followed specific paths and attained their heartsก desires. Keep an open mind and a hopeful outlook then change your thinking. Put on the clothes of success. Act as though you already have accomplished your desires. Then let the reality catch up.
WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Take a choice: money, health, physical energy, beauty, power, recognition, adventure, contentment, achievement, authority, selfexpression, love, peace of mind, enlightenment. Would you like any of these? If you are like most people today, you probably want ALL of these.
But if you search your true desires, you might find that there are a few things you want more than others. And, if you keep going in your search, youกll find one desire that has been with you your whole lifetime and is the one path you need to follow.
Although money is the obvious desire, it is usually not the final goal. Indeed, money can, and does buy happiness up to a point. Once you have enough money to be financially secure or to purchase the material objects you want, the true desire might be something else.
Love is the goal of every personกs heart. Whether it is love of a mate, or a family, or respect and recognition from peers and fellow workers, love is the ageless pursuit. The mystics say that love is the sole purpose of life to give love and to find it.
But love comes in many forms. Not only is there the overt display of affection or true inner feelings, but there is the selfrespect and inner contentment that goes with accomplishment. For some people, true peace of mind will never be attained until they complete some creative tasks or achieve certain heights in business.
Many people seek the authority that comes with a good position in a job. Along with that can come recognition and fame. Although you may want the money that is associated with high management levels, many people simply seek that satisfaction of working from the inner circles.
The goal of every person regardless of background and material desires, is health. A sound body is the gift that will get you to the other goals. Even a new diet and exercise plan can give you more energy the energy youกll need to accomplish success.
Adventure and travel is a driving force for many people. They may seek jobs that involve travel, or they may be looking forward to taking time off to visit the exotic ports and see the other side of the world. If you don’t want a long journey perhaps youกd just like a few weeks in a sunny resort or the luxury of a summer and winter vacation each year.
And then there is creativity and selfexpression. What about the book you’re going to write or the watercolor class youกd like to take? Creative expression is a wonderful inner release that boosts confidence and gives you something to accomplish.
Finally, regardless of wealth and health, expression and love everyone is looking for peace of mind. Thatกs not to say emptiness of mind, but to be rid of petty worries and confusion, to be finished with fears and live in total awareness. It surely is the ultimate lifetime goal.

Before You Think That Next Thought!

Before You Think That Next Thought!

by: Harald Anderson

Every thought we think is creating our future. Louise L. Hay

Researchers have discovered that the average person thinks anywhere between 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day. Since the majority of us spend anywhere from 1618 hours awake each day, we think a thought on average about every 1.1 seconds. That’s a whole lot of thinking going on. With this much thinking taking place there is nothing more important than to focus that energy on a meaningful goal that targets your objective. Whether you are an individual or business manager looking to improve your own condition, the GOAL is the instrument that puts order and purpose into all of this thought energy. Your thoughts lead to action. Your actions create habits. And the habits of your life will determine your ultimate destiny.

The principal premise of the personal development movement is that thoughts become things and that we get whatever we focus upon most. The questions that I think are worth asking are:

If thoughts are our currency for acquiring what we want, then what is it that you are spending your currency on?

Are you getting a good deal?

Are you experiencing the life you deserve?

I have yet to meet someone who claims to like setting goals. Most of us have tried goal setting at some point in our life and failed and just decided it was too much of a hassle. When we come to realize that the goal is comparable to a canvas for an artist we then begin to recognize the importance of goals in channeling our energy towards a desired purpose. The 60,000 thoughts are going to be there day in and day out. It would make good sense to focus those thoughts to an area that would result in a marked improvement of your life.

We are all familiar with the retail buying experience. We walk into a store. Locate the merchandise we want. Pay for it. Take it home. I submit that we engage in this exact same experience in designing our lives. Problem is that when our lives are not going the way we want we are unwilling to admit that we created that condition. It takes a great deal of courage to admit that our belief system might need some rewiring if we are not leading the lives we want.

Look around you right now at your surroundings. Everything that you own is a product of your thoughts. Likewise, everything that you don’t own is a product of your thoughts. Some quality thoughts are considered ขtoo expensiveข to even consider contemplating so we never even entertain them. When is the last time that you reminded yourself how ขawesomeข you are in spite of whatever problems are lurking in your life?

So we often spend our time with the thoughts that are most real to us and the thoughts that we know we can afford. Funny thing is that we have a budget of 60,000 thoughts each day to create whatever we want. In spite of that possibility so much of humanity traps itself in the ขcloseout thoughts aisleข and then wonders why life has become a battle for basic survival.

Here are a few of the more famous closeout aisle thought patterns:

ขIt’s just the way I am. I can’t help it.ข

ขI can’t control what I think.ข

ขThey are just thoughts for Gods sake! That doesn’t matter!ข

ขI just feel that way and there is nothing I can do about it.ข

The reality is that we CAN help it. There is no more important skill in life than learning to control the focus of our mind. In so doing, we can literally change our destiny. Every decision you make stems for the viewpoint of what you think you are and the value you place upon yourself. In the blink of an eye you can change your beliefs of what is possible and recognize that those limitations you encounter are all part of a flawed belief system.

I spent about thirty minutes trying to log my thoughts. Within minutes I discovered that my focus was literally ขall over the universe.ข Hundreds of disjointed thoughts entered and left my consciousness in a matter of minutes. Trying to keep track of them all was an exercise in futility. What this simple exercise taught me though was to understand the importance of goals. A goal certainly adds a focus and structure to thinking. The more ambitious the goal the more it forces us out of the ขcloseout aisleข and into the realization that the biggest obstacle in our lives is usually ‘us.’ The one thing I can guarantee you is that you will spend your thought budget every single day. Consciously or unconsciously you will think one thought every 1.1 seconds. With this being the case don’t you think it might be a good idea to make a concerted effort to focus your attention on the things that you want to create? Isn’t that the entire purpose behind having goals? Isn’t that the entire purpose to happy living?

A good friend of mine is working diligently on expanding his business. The one thing he is focused on is understanding that his growth in the past was a direct result of his thinking. Now as he confronts the future he recognizes that his thinking has become the obstacle to getting to the next level. Interesting dilemma isn’t it? You want to grow but you have to be willing to change your thoughts to do so.

Sounds real easy until you have to confront this issue yourself.

The one question that he reiterates to me every time we speak is…

ขWhat would a person have to believe and think about regularly to experience this?ข

I have no doubt that within this question lies all the wisdom that an individual or organization would ever need to be able to achieve whatever they wanted.

ขWhat would a person have to believe and think about regularly to experience this?ข

As I started asking myself that question I began to uncover counterproductive illusions about beliefs, ideas and thoughts that I nurture without even realizing it. Maybe you can relate? It reminds of the comment Mark Twain once made when he said, ขI have been through some really terrible stressful things in my life……….some of them which actually happened.ข

The secret of business success is ridiculously simple. So much so that we often dismiss it. What thoughts have you planted that are creating your current experience? What illusions do you regularly entertain that prevent you from being responsible for every area of your life? You can blame others for the unhappiness you feel, or you can take responsibility for your life. But you cannot do both. You must make a choice.

The กdivinity that shapes your destinyก is you!

Every day for the rest of your life you will think roughly 60,000 thoughts. Unless you focus that energy into some meaningful purpose you are doing yourself a huge disservice. Set ambitious goals for yourself and you will be well on your way to choosing the best thoughts energy can buy! The focus that this will create in your life will speak volumes. A question that will assist you in this regard whenever you experience a setback is:

ขWhat would a person have to believe and think about regularly to experience this?ข

Think about what you think about, before you think that next thought!

Be careful with what you agree with!

Secrets of Donald Trump Revealed!

Secrets of Donald Trump Revealed!

by: Dan Lok

If you’re like most of the televisionwatching public, you’re hooked on Season #2 of ‘the Apprenticeก and the flamboyant entrepreneur in the กstarring role.ก

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Donald Trump is one of the worldกs most intriguing success stories… arrogant, conceited, and an absolute lightening rod for wealth of the largest magnitude. Trump is a billionaire! His accomplishment speaks for itself.

I like the man a lot.

One of the กbig gunsก leveled at ‘the Donaldก is that heกs boastful and egoistic. But while his attitude may or may not make him good company in a lifeboat, I think a กsuperก ego is a great characteristic to have in business.

Iกll admit it: sometimes I have a big ego myself. My กego strengthก comes naturally out of the fact that I absolutely, positively believe 100% in what I do.

I have a little gadget on my desk saying, ขI might be wrong, but I am never in doubt.ข

If that makes me an egoist… so be it. Because if you show me a person with low selfesteem, I’ll show you a loser.

Selfesteem is the foundation of all achievement. You gotta love yourself. You gotta stand up for yourself. You gotta believe in yourself. And don’t be afraid to toot your own horn!

Many people are conditioned that กbraggingก is unseemly. But seriously, if you don’t shine the spotlight on yourself, who will?

In most businesses, the owner is the กfaceก of that business, and he must sell himself as well as his products and services. Trump understands the concept, and what’s why you see his brand ขTrumpข on everything.

‘the Donaldก knows that youกve got to be your own fulltime marketing campaign 24 hours a day…because nobody else will!

Especially if you’re an entrepreneur.

Starting a new business is like having a new baby. In the first weeks and months, you’re surrounded by support and encouragement…love from friends and family eager to help you with your กnewborn.ก

But how long does that last? Not very. Suddenly you’re out there on your own, and youกve got to trust yourself. If you don’t have confidence in yourself and in your decisionmaking abilities, youกll be paralyzed…unable to move.

Hereกs something huge: you have to believe that youกll be able to bounce back no matter what comes your way. Trump certainly has! And you can bet it was his unshakable ego that made the difference.

So, before you judge ‘the Donaldก for being arrogant and full of himself, consider how having an overdeveloped ego can be a real asset.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in business is – don’t criticize the negative traits of supersuccessful people. Instead of looking at their flaws and mistakes, say…

ขWhat can I learn from this guy? What are some of his characteristics? How can I adapt this concept to my business?ข

Frankly, if you can’t pick up at least a good idea or two from a billionaire, you’re pretty hopeless.

OK, enough of this กappetizingก chitchat. Let’s get to the meat…

What I’d like to do is share some of the key insights I’ve learned from Donald Trump and successfully applied to my own life.

Iกll give it to you Trumpกs way… then, I’ll กLok and loadก it with my own personal spin.

Fasten your seat belt, because this first insight is probably THE concept that completely changed my life.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Trumpism #1: Making It Big

ขI like things big. I always have. To me, it’s very simple: if you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big.ข

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Several years ago, I set a goal for myself: to make a 6figure annual salary as a copywriter. What a small thinker I was!

Today, I’ve more than achieved my goal, but I didn’t get the fulfillment and satisfaction that I expected. It’s more like, ขOK, I’ve achieved my goal, now what?ข

What if I had set the goal to become a millionaire copywriter?

What if I set the goal to utilize my marketing and copywriting and build a $10million company?

Would that make a difference? Would I be even more successful?

I think so.

As motivational speaker Les Brown said, กShoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.ก

My mother didn’t raise any ignorant kids, and you don’t have to tell me something twice. I’ve learned my lesson and adopted this philosophy in both my business and personal pursuits.

My longterm goal is building a $100 milliondollar company.

Isn’t that pretty outrageous? Does it sound ‘impossible’? Well, Iกve got a lifetime to work towards it!

And if I reach that goal, Iกll set a new one!

You’ll experience a paradigm shift when you think BIG. You’ll look at things differently. You’ll look at yourself differently.

And most of all, you’ll approach your business differently.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Trumpism #2: Accentuate the Negative

ขIt’s been said that I believe in the power of positive thinking. In fact, I believe in the power of negative thinking. I happen to be very conservative in business. I always go into the deal anticipating the worst. If you plan for the worst – if you can live with the worst – the good will always take care of itself.ข

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

More success, more wealth and more money are created out of kneeknocking, nailbiting desperation than out of ‘touchy/feelyก positive thinking.

Positive thinking alone won’t get you anywhere unless you combine it with practical plans, welldefined goals, followthrough, action, knowledge and persistence, etc.

Iกm living proof.

I got into the copywriting business out of desperation. I still remember when I was to the world of business and no one would hire me. Feeling helpless and hopeless, I was motivated to become my own boss.

It was do or die for me…and I sure as hell wasn’t about to die. And I found out that if I used the power of ขnegative thinkingข in a good way, it was an extremely powerful motivator.

I always like to put myself in situation where I HAVE to grow, I HAVE to adapt, and I HAVE to change. I am constantly pushing the envelope and stepping outside of my comfort zone because…

The success that you want can only be found outside your comfort zone!

Any time you have a decision to make, ask yourself this, ขWhat’s the worst possible outcome? Can I handle it? Will it kill my business?ข

Expect the best, but plan for the worst. Don’t assume things will go smoothly because 9 times out of 10…they won’t!

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Trumpism #3: Hiding Your Light Under A Bushel

กYou can have the most wonderful product in the world, but if people don’t know about it, it’s not going to be worth much.ข

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I’ve pitched this concept until I am blue in the face to clients who stubbornly say, กI have a great product, so I don’t have to advertise it.ก

Thatกs insane!

No business can survive without a constant stream of qualified prospecting coming to your business. So it doesn’t matter what industry you’re in or what product/service you make available, whoever you are…

Essentially you’re in the marketing business!

Having a good product or service is NOT enough…although itกs certainly mandatory! Quality and value what brings your customers back for more.

But how the heck do they do how ขwonderfulข your stuff is if they haven’t even bought from you yet?

In order to make a sale, you need someone you can sell to. To achieve that you need effective marketing systems to get these people in your ขfunnelข in the first place.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Trumpism #4: Show Me the Money

ขDon’t believe the critics unless they love your work.ข

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I have a reputation for being blunt and aggressive. Itกs well deserved.

I am tough on my clients. I slap them around (figuratively, of course!). I use swear words when I write. I use even more กcolorful languageก when I talk.

I could be a real SOB sometime. I don’t sugarcoat stuff and I definitely don’t care about hurting someoneกs feelings. I’ve even fired clients on more than one occasion.

Because of my straightforward and tellitlikeitis style, I get a lot more criticisms than other marketing experts. Do you think I care what other critics say or think or about me? Not for a microsecond.

Because my clients either love me or they hate me. But regardless of how they feel about my style, all my clients put up with a manic like me because I make them rich, enormously rich.

And itกs my satisfied clients that pay me… not dissatisfied critics.

The world is full of กnaysayersก eager to find fault and point to the negative. You can’t avoid them. They’re a fact of life. Elbert Hubbard said it best, ขTo avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.ข

I am a firm believer that the best way to fail is to try to please everybody. So the only criticisms I take to heart are the ones from my mentors, my closest associates, and my advisors.

Period.

Remember…

Your critics aren’t buying from you

Your critics don’t want to see you do well

Your critics probably aren’t qualified enough to criticize you!

Okay, Iกve กdistilledก the essence of the four most intriguing concepts I’ve learned from Trump’s books that have put money in my pocket. If you’re motivated to go deeper ‘the Donaldก has written seven incredible books (and youกll notice that each of them has ‘trumpก in the title!)

Trump: How to Get Rich

Trump: The Way to the Top

Trump: Surviving at the Top

Trump: The Art of the Deal

The America We Deserve

Trump: The Art of Survival

Some people like them. Some them say they’re crap. And whether or not you shoot over to Amazon.com to get them for yourself is totally up to you, my friend.

But Iกd ask you to consider this: if you can beg, borrow, or steal just one or two ideas from a man whoกs sitting on a billiondollar empire…ideas that could jumpstart your business empire…wouldn’t it be worth 20 bucks?

The choice is yours.

7 Tips for Success

7 Tips for Success

by: John Baker

In this article we mention 7 tips for your success. Thatกs not to say these are the only ones, nor will every successful person use all these. But using these tips will help you succeed.
1 Set Goals A set of goals or goal in writing enables you to have a purpose each day to work toward. Without a goal you may feel you have no purpose. You may have short term goals to achieve each day as well as long term (1 or more years). We are all individuals so we all have different goals. With goals you have something to aim for. Once you have developed a goal, keep negative thoughts like failure, fear, anger and envy from your mind.
2 Willing to Learn You must keep an open mind each day to new ideas, as the world is forever changing. What worked yesterday may not always work today, or maybe not the best way today. View your mistakes as opportunities rather than something to avoid at all cost. Willing to learn new things will make your business and life run better.
3 Perseverance and Patience So often the race is lost because itกs not finished. Success is often just around the next corner or over the next hill. So often itกs lost on the one yard line. In success you must persevere. You can’t fail if you don’t quit.
4 A Plan What specific actions or tasks will carry out your strategy or strategies? Create a sequence of actions and corresponding timeframe. Take time to do some initial planning, using your daily, monthly, and quarterly goals as a guide. Without a plan, you dreams will remain your dreams, and not your reality. But at the same time, do not wait for things to be perfect. Just start!
5 Responsible When you fail, you admit it and move on. You get back up and do it right the next time. Don’t beat yourself up. Instead realize that we learn from every mistake we make, and every obstacle in our path serves to make us stronger and better. You let your actions speak louder than your words. You accept responsibility for your actions and learn from them . No excuses, just results.
6 Vision to See If you can see the success of your goals and dreams months or years before you live them, it will help motivate you. The ability to look ahead, see the future, imagine the good that can and will come from your hard work will motivate you.
7 Friends for Success Everyone who achieves much success does it with the help of countless others. People become successful because they help other people, and people like them. Associate with people who will encourage you. Acknowledge that for every step backward, there is one or more forward steps that bring you closer to your goals.
กFar better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs though checkered by failure, then to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.ก Teddy Roosevelt

Achieving Success – Goal Setting

Achieving Success – Goal Setting

by: Julie Martin

As you start your Internet business, or even if you need help running your business successfully, you can benefit greatly by setting goals and sticking to them. Before you start to plan your business, think of the reasons why you are starting it, and the results you plan to achieve. Try to map these out before you get started to give you an idea of how you can reach your goals in an efficient way.

Goal setting is very similar to writing out a business plan for your company. In fact, you can look at your goals as a roadmap for your business plan. You will be able to see what you expect to achieve and then you can begin to formulate ideas to make it happen.

Step #1 – Forming Your Goals

Instead of just staring at a blank piece of paper and having nightmarish flashbacks to high school English classes, try to think for a moment of your dreams for your business. Do you plan to retire at 35 as a millionaire? Do you just want to have fun and make some spare cash on the side? Try to think of the reasons why you are starting your business in the first place.

Step #2 – Being Reasonable

So maybe retiring as a millionaire at 35 is a little out of reach. There is no point in setting a goal that will be impossible to achieve. Start small and set reasonable goals at first. These goals can be as small as learning html to design your company’s website or as large as having 1000 customers the first month.

Step #3 – Don’t underachieve

On the same token as overachieving, you can do yourself a disservice by underachieving as well. While you may feel good about getting through all of your goals right away, you won’t experience the personal growth and feeling of accomplishment that comes with setting goals that may just a little out of reach at first.

Step #4 – Laying out a path

Once you have decided what your goals are, how best can you achieve them? Do you need to invest more of your capital into advertising or do you need to spend more time on the smaller goals? If you know what you plan to do ahead of time, you can portion out your resources accordingly.

Step #5 – Goal Setting In Advance

As you set up your goals for your business in general, you can break them up into 6 month or one year increments. Where would you like your business to be in 6 months? Two years? Try to plan so that you will have definite goals for each portion of the year. If you are in a seasonal business, this can be very effective for planning your busy season ahead of time.

Step #6 – Making your Goals a reality

Once you have laid out the path to your goals you can begin taking a look at the best way to make them happen. Look at your goal list as an itinerary. Each goal is an important road marker along the way to your ultimate destination. This will give you an incentive to keep going, even when things are at their darkest.

Step #7 – Don’t Get Discouraged

If you do not meet your goals as you planned, don’t get discouraged and immediately give up. Instead, look at your list and see if you overachieved in some areas, or didn’t work hard enough to meet your goals in other areas. This is a learning experience, not a lesson in failure. Each time you fall, pick yourself up and retool your goals. Before long, you will have started to make progress in achieving these goals.

Step #8 – Starting Small

If you are new to goal setting or maybe just a little incredulous of the process, start by setting just a few goals. Keep these goals in a conspicuous place in your office or by your computer. Each time you look at them, you will be reminded of your goals and that might be the little nudge you need to start making them happen. Goal setting is for everyone, not just for the ขinspirationalข types. Try it for yourself and see what kind of progress you can make in a very short time.
