Your Condensed Guide for Working a Room

Your Condensed Guide for Working a Room

by: Oscar Bruce

Working a room…if only it could be fun…or at least guaranteed productive. I am referring to that mandatory event that requires us to mix and mingle, to meet and greet.

Command performance events like a cocktail party, a business dinner, or a charity event can feel stiff and uncomfortable. Very few people actually enjoy walking into a room full of strangers.

So why put yourself through that torture? Well for one thing, Nathan Keyfitz, professor of sociology at Harvard observes, กSocial skills will be of even greater importance for economic success in the future. The most successful people will be those who can communicate and connect best.ก

Put another way, itกs free advertising, and you control the entire message. Is it sometimes uncomfortable? Absolutely, but the upside is huge. The more you put yourself in networking situations, the easier it becomes and the greater the professional, social, and personal benefits.

Here is a condensed guide for working a room:

Approach every networking opportunity with the attitude that it is going to be fun. While no single event is guaranteed to change your life, any single event could. Remember, success is measured by percentages, not perfection. Who isn’t attracted to someone who is smiling, laughing, and enjoying him or herself!

Be Prepared. Be clear about your objectives. Keep focus on your purpose in being there. Don’t be easily distracted from the outcome you have in mind.

Next, don’t wait for others to approach you. Yes, I know it is a bit uncomfortable for some, perhaps you. So think about how great you feel when someone takes the initiative to walk up to you and introduces themselves. Then you do the same.

Acquire and practice several good conversation openers. The best technique is art of asking intelligent questions that convey the impression there is depth and style to your personality. Show them that they could benefit by getting spending more time with you.

When you make an interesting contact, focus all your attention on that single person. Don’t let your eyes wander around the room. Keep eye contact and actively listen. Give that person the sense that you have been waiting all evening just to meet them. In other words, make them feel important.

Learn the art of small talk. Call it chit chat or even foreplay if you like. Its purpose is to put people at east. It starts with finding an area of common interest. This means knowing just the right questions to ask, and at precisely the right moment. Always remember, small talk doesn’t teach, preach, or try to impress. It is just light and easy conversation.

Do your homework. If possible review the names of the people attending, their spouses or partners, their affiliations. If you can recall any prior contacts, refer to that to open the conversation. That will appreciate the fact that you remember.

Finally, common sense tells us not arrive late, drink too much, dress too casually, or push your agenda excessively. Don’t glue yourself to one person the whole night just because they are fascinating, mingle.

Few things personally or professionally happen by accident. Consider going to your next command performance (thatกs what it is) totally prepared. Then watch how much fun you can have when you know why you are there, and can tell your story with style and humor, persuasively.

Hey, Client, This Is Me! Sell With Your Writing Vo

Hey, Client, This Is Me! Sell With Your Writing Voice.

by: Cathy Goodwin

In a crowded market, clients will be seeking personality as they read what youกve written theyกll click right past pages that feel กbeen there, read that.ก They’re looking for a voice that says, กHey, client, this is me!ก

They want to know not just what you deliver but how. Will you be funny or serious? A perky cheerleader or a sardonic commentator? Will your view of life be based on กbelieve and it happensก or กwhat you see is what you get?ก

Here are some tips to add your own voice to your writing.

1. Write from the heart.

Too excited, passionate or angry to sit still? Best time to connect with your voice. Grab a pencil and scribble ideas as you jump around the room.

2. Say something new.

After forty articles on time management, your readers know about cutting projects into manageable chunks and setting priorities. Ho hum. Try กbetter than zeroก or ‘turn your life into a time warp.ก

3. Tape yourself talking to a good friend about a product.

Do your words sound different when you speak than when you write? Transcribe the tape into an article for easy reading.

4. Picture your ideal client (you do have one, don’t you?). Imagine that she is gushing about your service to a friend highly recommending you. What words does she use to describe your services? What emotions come through?

5. Cut. Then cut again. When you have to trim your piece to meet a word count requirement, notice that you’re left with the most essential words all yours.

6. Write fast. Get the words down before your inner critic has a chance to participate. Edit later.

7. Reveal yourself: family, mistakes, secret dreams. When you feel just a bit embarrassed, or feel your private persona has become more public, youกve probably just touched your audienceกs heart.

8. Be concrete not abstract.

As writing guru Natalie Goldberg would say, กItกs a geranium, not a flower.ก

9. If youกve had voice training, be especially alert to creating the bland and the blah.

Julia Roberts could hold an audience while she reads the telephone directory. Your copy has to stand alone, without dramatic oratory. Exercise 3 may not work for you.

10. Don’t be afraid to break the rules: use slang and contractions. And itกs okay to begin a sentence with กandก or กbut.ก

Just tread carefully on the rules of grammar and spelling. กYour about to head off for you’re great adventureก can be a credibilitybuster.

Sales As A Positive Experience

Sales As A Positive Experience

by: Don Osborne

No matter what your age or stage in life, some words come with preconceived meaning. กSalesก is one of them. For most people, it means being put in a position to have to buy something you don’t want at a price you can’t afford. Therefore, how do you conduct a critical element of the small business marketing process without incurring the negative impact of the word กsalesก?

It starts with you. Check your own attitude about the word. What does กsalesก mean to you? How do you feel when you’re the one being sold? How much of that feeling do you transfer to the experience you’re now being asked to conduct as a small business owner?

Next, putting aside any of your own negative feelings, what exactly are you offering your potential customers whatกs in it for them? How you answer this question is the starting point for a กPositive Experienceก for your potential customer. When a person really understands the pain youกll helped them relieve or the joy youกll help them experience as a result of your product or service, theyกll see your กsalesก process as a positive experience.

So, whatกs the lesson to be learned? Develop a positive, personal understanding about your own products and services. Determine what you’re selling in terms of itกs value to the potential customer. Present that value in a solutions manner. Result: youกll turn your sales process into a Positive Experience for both you and your customer.

กLearn & Doก Action Steps:

1. Write a 3 5 sentence description of how you feel when you’re the customer?

2. Select the product or service you’re most passionate about. List 5 incentives with matching features and benefits you feel have a high value to your customer.

3. Role play with a trusted friend the perfect, interactive presentation of the product or service youกve selected.

The Nine Warning Signs that You need a Sales Video

The Nine Warning Signs that You need a Sales Video

by: MarieClaire Ross

Corporate videos are an important sales tool that can often be overlooked in marketing budgets.

We look at the top nine telltale signs that indicate whether your company is in need of an innovative and effective way to promote itself.

1. No strong corporate ขlook and feelข

You’re in a highly competitive industry. Yet, what makes you really stand apart from your competitors is your people and the look and feel of your company.

So how do you show your stateoftheart factory in action or your professional staff working in your appealing office?

And what about your idyllic location? What’s the best way to show picturesque vision of rolling hills, clean and green countryside or waterside views?

The solution is to create a marketing video that paints an appealing picture of those indefinable qualities that make your company unique.

2. Unique Presentations

You need to do a sales presentation and your company is up against some tough competitors.

How do you present your company in a way that is different to your opponents?

A proven method is to play your corporate video within your PowerPoint presentation.

Playing your marketing video at the start of a sales presentation is a great way to relax your audience. Interesting vision and upbeat music can make your audience feel more positive, even before you’ve spoken a word.

It’s an ideal way to show the look and feel of your company in a convincing and enjoyable manner.

3. Trade Shows/Exhibitions

Your organisation is always exhibiting at trade shows and needs a way to stand out from the crowd.

Setting up a television screen and a DVD/VHS player in your stand with your continually repeating corporate video is an easy way to get people to stop and stare. Moving vision and music easily stops people in their tracks.

Parents quickly learn that it is easy to distract a child by leaving them in front of a television. Adults are usually no different. It is easy to grab the attention of participants who may feel uncomfortable (or bored) walking around a trade show.

Continually playing your corporate video is an easy way for passersby to learn about you without having to go to the effort of reading through brochures.

4. Increasing Export Sales

Travelling overseas to market your products or services to international buyers is risky business. Not just for your company, but also for your prospects.

Can they really trust you when you tell them how large and reputable you business is and that you have the right quality procedures in place? How can they get a real feel for your company that is located thousands of miles away?

Presenting your location, factory or office, production process and your dedicated staff at work is highly regarded by international buyers. It provides an extra a look and feel about your company that is often lacking from brochures and photos.

A concise marketing video that gives an interesting overview of your company is a proven method to increasing international sales.

5. Showing your Product or Service in Action

Sometimes you cannot actually demonstrate your product or service to a client because it is too large to lug around, it is located on the other side of the world or there is only one prototype that cannot be used.

New products or services that are suitable for use in a range of different scenarios are also difficult to demonstrate.

Using a marketing video that can exhibit how your product works and under what circumstances is a great way for prospects to understand what you are trying to sell.

This is a much better alternative than taking the prospect through lengthy operational manuals or worse still, having them rely on their imagination.

6. Extensive Product Range

Your product list is extensive. Not only do your clients not know all of the products that you sell, but even your staff have trouble remembering!

Studies have found that we are more likely to remember information if it is shown with pictures. The best way to inform people about your product range (and for them to remember) is to show scenarios in which the product can be used.

7. Your Production Process

Your product is made in a timehonoured tradition that takes hours of dedication. Or your product is made from the finest quality materials that are only obtainable from a scenic, rural location. Alternatively, your service was developed from years of research by experienced technicians.

Showing your product being made in a manner that is different to your competitors gives you a distinct competitive advantage.

This is one area that you do not want to leave to nice words and pretty pictures in a brochure. To do your company justice, showcasing your production process is an extremely important message to convey.

8. Believable Testimonials

There is nothing more potent than having your happy customers raving on about how wonderful you are to camera.

Written testimonials are often read suspiciously. We’re all guilty of reading through testimonials and laughing about their dubious authenticity.

Having a real client talking about you on camera is like having that person tell your prospects facetoface about how highly they think of you. Of course, the testimonial has to look real. Uncomfortable clients poorly reading from an autocue fools nobody!

When done correctly, this is an extremely effective way to promote your business and one that has been used since televisions first appeared in our lounge rooms.

9. Winning Awards

Many savvy businesses know that entering awards can be a great way to cost effectively promote their company.

Submitting your corporate video in an award submission is also a clever technique to distinguish your company from the pack.

An added bonus is that your video material may also be included during any awards ceremony stretching your promotional opportunities even further.

Creating A Web Page That Sells A Look At Graphic

Creating A Web Page That Sells A Look At Graphics and Copywriting

by: Patrick Mahoney

This is a response to a client that we have been working with, and a website they are building that will sell an eBook on กHair Styling Tipsก. We thought the information was important and relevant enough to include in this months newsletter.

==CREATING A WEBSITE THAT SELLS==

The website that weกll be dealing with sells an eBook based on hair styling tips, but these concepts should translate very easily into any website that sells a product or service.

In this article, we touch on subjects such as:

The use of graphics on a web page

Copywriting insights

Web Page Headlines

Benefits, not features

And more.

Our hope and desire is that you find this article of value, and that you find thoughts and ideas you can put to use in your own online business.

Let us begin…

==COPYWRITING SUGGESTIONS==

Copywriting is probably one of the most misunderstood elements of marketing, and I am not going to claim I know it all. Website copywriting is more than just your typical กonelinersก that we see so much in todayกs Internet marketing arena.

Iกve learned a couple of lessons over the past few years that are usually pretty tough for people to get ahold of, and most of them I have learned from my beautiful wife Marsha.

My wife Marsha has been a hair stylist for over 22 years, and for more then 18 of those years has managed one of the largest hair styling salons here in Ohio.

Iกve learned more about advertising from her then I ever have from any Internet guru, although thatกs not to say we cannot learn from them. กInternet guruกs that isก

Here are our suggestions for the copywriting on your web page.

The first thing to understand is:

People/Customers only care about themselves.

At first, at least until the customer gets to know you a little better, they are only concerned about one thing, and that is กwhats in it for meก.

Think about these thoughts for a moment:

I want to feel better

I want to look better

I want people attracted to me

I want more money

I want to be accepted

And there are many more thoughts that run through our minds as human beings everyday. They are all natural thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and everybody has them, although some may not admit to it.

Also, we must understand why people buy things. Do we as shoppers buy what is needed in life, or do we buy what makes us feel good, look better, feel happier, etc?

If we think about this for awhile, and think about it with honesty, we will find that 98% of the time that we are buying something, itกs because we think that it will make us feel good, be happier, or look better in some way.

With that being said, now we can ask ourselves what is it about our copy that presents something to our customers that will benefit them in some way?

If I am selling a book on ‘tips for quick and easy hair styling solutionsก, then I am going to put myself in my customers shoes, and ask what is it that is going to catch my attention?

If I write something like the following:

Hello, my name is Marsha, and Iกve been a hair stylist for more then 20 years now, and I guess you could say, I know a little something when it comes to hair styling.

And I would continue on here with more about what I know, etc.

As a potential customer, would you really care to read anymore? Most likely not.

But, what if I were to write the following:

Give me just 5 minutes, and Iกll show you 5 simple tips you can use to have the most beautiful, full bodied hair youกve ever seen… And Iกll teach you how to do it in as little as 7 minutes a day.

or how about this one…

Imagine, you wake up in the morning, wash your hair, and just 7 minutes later youกve got the most full bodied, beautiful hair youกve ever seen… Warning, don’t be surprised when you get more attention at the office today.

And there are many more ideas, but the bottom line is, what one of these would grab your attention, and make you want to read more?

When writing anything on your website, always think กcustomer BENEFITSก.

Again, we can help more in these areas if you want them, but the greatest single gift we can give you to help convert visitors to sales is to teach you to sell benefits, not features.

==WEBSITE GRAPHICS SUGGESTIONS==

Graphics on websites are a heavily debated issue, although we feel very strongly that they shouldn’t be, and hereกs why.

It all depends on what your selling or trying to sell.

Internet marketing information based products do not need all of the graphical content as would a company trying to sell a new video game for the Play Station, Game Boy, or any of the game boxes available.

These types of customers want to see what they’re buying before they shell out $50 or more for that กnext big gameก.

Internet marketers are looking for usable information on how to market their businesses online. They typically do not need the graphic intensive website design that a game company would.

BUT, we also have to remember that just because we may not classify ourselves as a ‘typicalก Internet marketer, we are never the less marketing our products on the Internet, whether or not they are PC games, Internet marketing information products, or how to best style your hair.

With that being said, what we need to find is a กmiddleก ground that will lend itself to our products and services.

Back to our hair style website idea, I would recommend the following, which we feel will lend itself greatly to enhancing the กoverallก effect, and would help increase sales of your product.

Suggestions:

1) Thinking back to our กCopywritingก insights, and the natural human emotion of wanting to look better or feel that we are กattractiveก, it would play in nicely to have a few pictures of very attractive people peppered throughout the website or sales page.

We would suggest that these images would lend themselves to the content at very precise moments, and help add กeffectก to what is being stated.

Example:

If your explaining how they will learn that they can have better, more natural, fullbodied hair, then you might want to add a small, but very clear image of a beautiful woman throwing her hair back. This image would be of a woman with กfullbodiedก hair, and of medium length.

Focus on a picture that you, yourself may feel deeply inside that กIกd sure love hair like thatก. You need to find that กemotionalก moment, and then use it to your copywritingกs advantage.

2) It has been shown that by adding a 3D graphical image of your book or eBook can increase sales by as much as 300% and more.

It has been found that this gives the potential customers กsubconsciousก mind something to hold on to and feel.

‘touchก

Touch is something that we as marketers lack greatly on the Internet, and we see no such abilities of this in our foreseeable future.

The only option we have at this point are graphics, and images, along with sound.

We know that graphics and images, along with proper copywriting skills can sell a lot of products. We know this to be fact for the simple reason that we witness this type of content everyday, all day through TV commercials.

How do we know this to be fact?

No one would spend the billions of dollars they do, each year, creating TV commercials if they did not increase the sales of their products.

Example:

Without mentioning a name, have you seen the TV commercials where the women who wash their hair with a certain hair care product, seem to be in Ecstasy?

OOohh, AAaahhh, Oh Yes, Yes, YES!!!

Sound familiar?

And do we honestly believe, that if those commercials did not increase sales of that product, that this company would really spend the millions of dollars a year they spend for them?

Of course not. Spending with no return on investment is the fast way to kill a company.

==FINAL THOUGHTS==

There are many more areas that will help create and generate more sales from a website, and we have hardly scratched the surface here.

But, you should be able to pull out the beginnings of a very good start at creating a website that can generate revenue very early on.

We must come to understand, that although there may be ideas, and thoughts that seem foreign to us, and some may even feel uncomfortable, if we want to create sales, we will have to overcome some of those boundaries within ourselves.

==IN CLOSING==

Whatever you decide to do, one thing to remember is, itกs one thing to focus on benefits, and peoples emotions, but a completely different thing to lie.

We never suggest lying to customers.

If a product cannot produce the results that the sales page says it can, then the sales page needs to be changed to fit the product.

If not, customers will not be happy, it can ruin a business, and people who do it can get into more trouble then it has ever been worth.

Focus on benefits in your sales copy, a website that is fresh and new (not a lookalike), build brand awareness, and customer service, and you will have the beginnings of a great website, and online business.

When Do You Ask For A Refund?

When Do You Ask For A Refund?

by: Kim Regan

Have you ever asked to have your money refunded after buying something online? Do you do this often? What are the reasons youกve asked for refunds? Savvy marketers will try to find out why without making you feel you should not have asked. This would be valuable information to them. Anyone selling on the internet should be willing to have a fair and prompt refund policy. To back up their products and claims without hesitation. It is especially important to do with online sales since the transaction is done without being able to ‘readก the salesperson and operation face to face.

Fairness and ethical behavior goes both ways. Due to the fact that online info products and downloadable software are easy to copy and keep while also obtaining a refund, the buyer kind of has a special กburden of honorก too. I have asked for refunds when a product was totally misrepresented and poorly done. In one instance the video and audio courses were sold as being กconvenient and viewable anytime and anyplace. Turns out it was a convenience for the marketer since you had to view them from his site, and you guessed it, the site was very, very SLOW. If I buy something costly and you sell me like that, I want to download and OWN it.

Another time I went through an ebook that had not been cheap to buy and it just didn’t contain too much I didn’t already know. I was just about to ask for a refund (and no, I don’t do that often, only a few times EVER) when I decided to look again at the ads that made me bite on the offer. The seller had not misrepresented anything. And his offer and presentation were not กjunkyก. I simply had learned more about the subject than I thought and hadn’t realized it. Good for me! The additional value for me then became studying what was very good ad copy. I didn’t ask for that refund.

A common situation you may find yourself in is not being ready for the level of material you are reading. A little more study at the basic level and perhaps simply putting the material away until you are ready may be the answer. Some advanced topics will not make sense without base knowledge. Due to the vast scope of some subjects it might be hard to cover it in one product or course series.

Don’t hesitate to ask for a refund if you truly feel the product was misrepresented. Educate that marketer about what you feel was wrong. If they don’t improve, they deserve to give all their money back. Just don’t be one of those awful people who buys an expensive product KNOWING they are going to ask for a refund. Thatกs the same as stealing and is unethical. If we want the convenience and gratification of being able to immediately download what we have purchased to continue, we can’t bleed the online merchants dry.

How To Balance A Job, A Life and A Home Business!

by: Jacinda Harrison

For most of us Internet entrepreneurs the reality of starting our own home business on a full time basis is not a reality.
With financial and/or family commitments a priority it is hard work to get a home business off the ground and nurture it into a successful money making venture.
Working a job at the same time is a necessity for 99% of us just starting up.

These are very elusive questions aren’t they?
I have compiled a list of ten exclusive tips to help you and others just like myself.
These are tips and advice, which I have found to be beneficial in helping me to reach a balance and also to keep my sanity, when at times I have been ready to toss the home business aside as it just seemed too hard to do it ALL…..!
1) Write down a list of main goals you want to achieve with your home business. Eg: Financial freedom, More time with family. Print this out and pin it up where you will read it each day. This will keep you motivated and remind you why you stay up all those late nights!
2) Choose a home business that you will put your heart into. If you have the desire to succeed then you will succeed. If you enjoy your home business then making room for it in your life will not be a chore.
3) Set a quantity of hours to devote to your home business each week. Be realistic. You may only have 30 minutes or one hour a day available on a regular basis. If you manage to spend extra hours – well done, and you will feel proud for doing so.
4) Write a weekly TO DO list. One for business and one for home. Be realistic. This will give you activities to work towards. Check them off as you complete them. You will feel a sense of achievement.
5) Establish a separate business work area in the home. If not possible make sure to set aside time when you have privacy. Your time will be spent much more efficiently with no interruptions.
6) Be patient. A successful home business will not blossom overnight. Be prepared to put in some hard work for the first months to get things up and running. You will see results.
7) Reward yourself. If you have been putting extra hours into your home business take the day off. Spend time with your family and relax. You deserve it.
8) Enjoy time out. Life can be hectic and overwhelming. Add to that starting a home business as well as keeping a full time job! It is essential to have time out for yourself.

Can you use hynotic like statements to sell more p

Can you use hynotic like statements to sell more products?

by: Jeff Schuman

As I become more successful with my internet business I have become interested in ways to move my business to the next level.

Besides pumping more money into advertising it occured to me that increasing my closing percentage on my websites to the visitors I am getting would be a free way to make more money without spending more money to do it.

Writing better copy in my ads and on my websites itself surely would help me reach this goal.

I know in offline sales that it is not only what you say, but how you say it. To achieve the same results without the benefit of voice inflection will require getting my prospective customer into an almost hypnotic state of mind.

First letกs define what an hypnotic state of mind is.

กA trance like state in which a person responds readily to suggestions. Attracting and holding an interest as if by a spell.ก

O.K. But how do I do that?

If you can tell your readers what they are probably thinking, feeling or doing as they read your ad copy their thoughts will usually trigger their own subconscious mind to bring out these feelings or actions.

O.K. How do you do that?

One way is to add hypnotic sentences into any ad copy. You may have to change one or two words so it relates more to the product or service you’re selling.

Here are 10 hypnotic like sentences that you can use to get your prospect more into a buying mood.

If after reading these you feel the urge to go and buy something check out my make money at home website TeamSchuman.Com here:

http://www.teamschuman.com

Just kidding. O.K. here are the 10 hypnotic sentences.

1. As you’re scanning over this ad copy, you are beginning to imagine using our product and enjoying all the benefits it brings.

2. After you read this short ad you will feel like your problems are almost completely solved, all you will have to do is order.

3. As you’re skimming through this, you’re beginning to think you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying out our product.

4. The more you understand just how valuable our product could be to your life, the less you think about delaying this important purchase.

5. As you keep reading this ad copy you are feeling more and more compelled to experience all the benefits of our product.

6. As every word you read on our website you start to understand just how much our product could benefit your life.

7. The more you keep reading the more you feel it would be a waste to let this opportunity slip by.

8. You don’t know it yet but, at the conclusion of this ad, you will feel driven to order and experience all the benefits of our product.

9. The more you review our website the more you begin to find yourself getting very excited about our product and starting to feel the urge to buy now.

10. You don’t realize it yet but, in a few short minutes youกll realize that you can’t put off this vital purchase and then youกll be yanking out your credit card.

Does this stuff actually work? The only way to know for sure is to give it a try in your ad copy and on your website pages.

If people really do start breaking out their credit card more often or even a few extra times then it is worth the effort to learn how to use hypnotic sentences to sell more of your products.

Internet Chat Rooms: Are We Missign the Point?

Internet Chat Rooms: Are We Missign the Point?

by: Jesse S. Somer

In my short life, after years of talking too much, I’ve come to realize that if one is always speaking, one never listens. If you never listen to others, well, you’re limiting your access to a lot of knowledge and information. Recently, after much deliberation I thought I’d check out what the world of Chat Rooms is like. People talk to each other by text, voice, and web cam. This is a really big phenomenon; I wanted to see what all the fuss is about.

I expect there are many chat rooms where people with similar interests get to know each other, and share their perspectives on various aspects of life. These are great, much cheaper than telephones, and multiple, random people can chat to one another simultaneously.

But I speak the truth, and my preconceived ideas about mindless gossip from jaded humans were sadly affirmed as I arbitrarily checked chat rooms that supposedly discussed important subjects. It seems some people are just very bored, and want to be cool and swear online, insulting others, and giving this area of information technology a bad name. I think a lot of people are using the rooms solely for personal conversation that contextually no one else can understand.

I went to a chat room about religion, and then to one about tattoos and it seemed like the same people were talking. Most of the conversation didn’t even touch the supposed subject matter. It was definitely a disenchanting experience but hopefully with more research I hope to come across some serious rooms where the true intent of the creators has come to fruition.

I guess it’s good that bored people in our technological society have others to talk to. It means depressed adolescents may feel more connected to others and not so alone in the world, maybe even having a positive effect on a possibly suicidal youth. But, I do feel this nonsensical chitchat is a sign of our next generation’s apathetic view of present reality in our postmodern culture. When reading the text from a supposedly religious discussion, and hearing graphic use of derogatory terminology, I really have to wonder about the present spiritual beliefs of my culture.

I’m a true believer of the concept that technology is here to further the consciousness of humanity. Computers and the Internet can help bring all of us in the world together, thus evolving our society to the next level. After looking at chat rooms, I feel there is a need to integrate more wisdom and compassion into our ‘new world’ generation. Having the technology is great, but it is only one half of the equation. To make the Internet work properly, I think we need to instill the same faith we have in science, into a faith that encompasses the actual creators of the information and communication toolshumanity itself. We seem to realize that we can invent many great things, but it looks like we’re missing out on the great truth: that we ourselves are part of, and made of something great in itself: Life. (Existence!)
